Eonwe Valar: Aye, back as far as 1930-something for a comparable storm hitting the east coast, if I remember correctly.
Eonwe Valar: So yeah, our members on the east coast have a good reason to miss the meeting, hehe.

Eonwe Valar: Monday afternoon, the guild branch on Lothar hit level 25, maxing us out until Blizzard gives us more guild levels to earn :} Make sure that if you can, you go pick up your Golden King mount from the guild vendor.

Eonwe Valar: Sunday, Bofur, Glorfindel, and Eonwė ran the scenarios: Brewing Storm, Fall of Theramore, Arena of Annihilation, and Greenstone Village.
Eonwe Valar: I missed Friday's normal time, so I hope we got a run or two in, but late that night, Glorfindel, Bilbo, and I managed to get into a Sha of Anger raid. All the spells of 40 people going off made things a little... interesting... on my part, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: Good thing he was a puggable world boss.
Eonwe Valar: Tonight, we'll see who we have and what we can do.

VardaValar1: My apologies, it's been a struggle to get to game this past week as my office kept getting moved and we've had visitors. However
VardaValar1: the guild folks have been going strong, lots of folks showing up, leveling going on, much craziness. : )
VardaValar1: Does anyone else have a comment to add for LotRO?
VardaValar1: I think Indis is over there gaming at a guess. : )
VardaValar1: Floor back to you, Eonwe.

Eonwe Valar: Auros finally got a house, after some 6 years of LotRO, hehe.
karakedi25: My LM has reached level cap; my minstrel has gotten well into the Wold quests, and my burg just got her warhorse.

ArPharazonV: Did some flashgames. A lot of them Halloween-themed, which was nice, though none of them really "Oh ma gawd you have to try this!", so I'll refrain from throwing names and links your way.
Eonwe Valar: Hehe.

ArPharazonV: And MLP Online is making its official episode 1 release on the 31st, so I'll be trying that. The beta didn't do so well on XP but I think there's some settings to mess with to make it work, so we'll see if the official one is workable.
VardaValar1: Hope that works out for you. : )

Eonwe Valar: Before we get to discussion, we have two items.

VardaValar1: Nar-(V) went to a Medievalism conference and reported on it on our forum, copied to the News as well.
VardaValar1: He said:
VardaValar1: This week I attended a Medievalism conference. One of the papers was Tolkien and the 20th Century. It was so laudatory, I would have thought it was it was one of the amateur/fan efforts which show up sometimes at these conferences. Instead, this was from the editor of one of the sponsoring journals. It was wonderful to hear the respect accorded JRRT.

VardaValar1: Mosby, a friend of ours of the Palantiri, shared an amusing link from Denny's, a restaurant, that now has a Hobbit menu:

VardaValar1: My family went to the Texas Renaissance Festival this weekend. Part of the fun was that some of the costumes were definitely Middle-earth related. A very nice one on a tall Gandalf for instance.
VardaValar1: Also a wonderful outfit for a young blonde lady of a Mirkwood elf with a bow. Those were two of the stand-outs.
VardaValar1: Yes, we went in garb. : )

VardaValar1: Well, I was trying to get all of us to the same table, but that kind of fell apart, so now not sure what's next.
VardaValar1: Was trying to get the researchers together with the weaponsmith informally at the table.
Eonwe Valar: My next post should come soon (TM).

Eonwe Valar: I'm deciding on a few final details invovled it in. If you all move on from the Hall of Fire, that should pose a big problem for my next post ultimately, as Auros will probably have to come looking for certain of you anyway.

ArPharazonV: Quick, let's all split up and hide.
Eonwe Valar: If I've finalized the post before the group has moved from the Hall of Fire, Auros will just end up coming back, but otherwise no biggy.

AriehnV: so i ve been showing her round a bit and helping out with her hunter quest at level 50

AriehnV: and i would be quite interested in that as well with my guardian or runekeeper
AriehnV: we have fixed a time for 11 am EST to try and do that

karakedi25: you have melee dps. You need a medium armor type and a caster

VardaValar1: They have a guardian and captain.

VardaValar1: Incantations can be read by lm, rk, min.
VardaValar1: Those are called lore classes.
AriehnV: so we need a runekeeper
AriehnV: i can that provide that one
VardaValar1: An aware class for triggering trap mechanisms would be capt, hunter, burg.
VardaValar1: To smash broken walls, use a brawn class: guard, wrdn, champ
VardaValar1: So you have the brawn and aware, just need to bring in a lore class and you're all set.
AriehnV: its a three man instance aye?
VardaValar1: Yes
VardaValar1: You have the guard for the brawn, the captain for aware. You just need a third for lore: lm, rk, min would do.
VardaValar1: If you switch to rk, that's fine but then you need to bring in a brawn class: grd, wrdn, champ.
AriehnV: yep cool
AriehnV: do you have time tomorrow Varda?
VardaValar1: I will have to try to work it in but can give it a shot.
VardaValar1: 10am is pretty lively for me.
ArPharazonV: This is the typical role-combo for LotRO 3-mans? Brawn, Aware and Lore?
VardaValar1: (my time)
AriehnV: oh hang on 11est is still offtime anyway
VardaValar1: 11am EST is my 10am, but can try to work it in.
AriehnV: i think we have to put it back a couple of hours i think after my barnight
VardaValar1: Phar: melee, healer, ranged hit is the usual best trio.
VardaValar1: This particular quest instance has three special types of things to trigger needing each of those character types, but can be worked around without having all of them. It can even be soloed.
VardaValar1: Also, unless it's been changed, it only operates during LotRO nighttime.
VardaValar1: "midnight" I think.
ArPharazonV: Aha.
VardaValar1: Anyway, between us we have enough character types. It also has a riddle deed to complete, helping your group get volunteers.
VardaValar1: It takes a while to run.
AriehnV: and last not least i have given in temptation and got myself the xpnsion ^^
