Eonwe Valar: Friday: Varda, Fangorn, and Elwing did some running together questing in Terrokar.

Eonwe Valar: I've heard beta invites are going out for the new expansion, but that's about all that can be said about them.
Eonwe Valar: Probably means guildies who get in will be there instead of on Landroval, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: Varda mentioned there'd been some grouping in LotRO, but I don't have anything more detailed than that.
AriehnV: Melkor helped me yesterday to defend Rivendell and the Ford of the Bruinen against some Orcs in a skirmish

ArPharazonV: Couple of flashgames, and got myself a new rare archeology artefact in WoW :-) And I think there's rumors going around about MoP being released in late september.
ArPharazonV: Other than that, not really.

Eonwe Valar: MMO-Champion mentioned the PTR should be getting the Pre-MoP patch soon.
Eonwe Valar: September seems a bit early based on that, but we'll see.

ArPharazonV: Hadhodrond is not in the register from what I can see, so it wouldn't be in the Fellowship. Glorfindel wins!
AriehnV: The shape and lands were changed a lot after the new forming
and shaping that were involved in the creation of Numenor. But there
was a bit left at the time of the ring wars .. not much but one range
of mountains was part of the old Beleriand if I am right, at least it
co-existed with it
AriehnV: can you name this mountain chain?

Arien's question is answered. Everyone is free to continue Trivia, or

ArPharazonV: There's also the Himling of course but that's hardly a range of mountains ;-)
AriehnV: Frodo was turning 33 , the age Hobbit "came into age" and "into their inheritance"
ArPharazonV: It was his 33rd birthday, I believe, when hobbits came into age.

Fellowship was seperated took place at Amon Hen, one of twin peaks
above the Fall of Rauros. What was the name of its counterpart on the
Eastern shore, and, for bonus points, what do both their names mean? :-)

AriehnV: Amon Lhaw on the Eastern shore?
ArPharazonV: Correct!
AriehnV: Hill of Seeing and Hill Hearing I believe

AriehnV: When Frodo and Sam were in Mordor they decided to join a band of orks. Why?
AriehnV: and where for bonus points
ArPharazonV: Pooh. Movie clouding my memory, but it would be on their
way from the tower of Cirith Ungol; they were dressed as orcs and I do
believe they had not much choice in the matter of joining. Or it could
be that they used them to find a path to descend into the plains.

AriehnV: it was a road linking two fortresses which Sauron used as main transport route to gather his armies and supplies
ArPharazonV: So more north of the tower, then?
AriehnV: yes , Frodo thought it would take them closer and faster to their goal
AriehnV: and as they encountered this band they did not have much
chance than to run with them if they didnt want to give themselves away
AriehnV: but Frodo thought also it might bring them faster ahead so it
was not all bad but they finally ditched away into the bushes
ArPharazonV: Well, I got that right at least.
AriehnV: and encountered .. what or who?
ArPharazonV: Though not the second reason.
ArPharazonV: Not sure what they encountered.
ArPharazonV: Except for.. well.. bushes.
ArPharazonV: Should I look it up?

AriehnV: then they waited for a bit until the orc party was safely away , got rid of surplus gear and not long after met Gollum
AriehnV: or scrap that , they made it halfway up the hill at the fiery mountain until they met him
AriehnV: but i think its aftermeeting anyway :-)

AriehnV: i ll be going to a larp weekend in August .. unfortunately
that was at the same dates as the Tolkien conference and i was drawn
more to the Larp

AriehnV: ooh aye and in that system which i ll be trying out there is a bit of everything and quite a bit Tolkien inspired

AriehnV: they even have an orc tribe their called Uruk Hai whch is lightly stronger and more intelligent than the others ^^
