night. Not sure about any other runs, but alot are probably focusing on
the dailies rebuilding a town called Hytbold.

Ariehn V (4:18:38 PM): its Lotro :-) My thanks to Ioreth who helped my
Guardian with some groupquests in the Misty Mountains and the
neighbouring area bordering Rivendell .. ah yes the Trollshaws

ArPharazonV (4:21:14 PM): Well,b esides the usual WoWing and flashgaming, there's some MLP Online news.
ArPharazonV (4:22:47 PM): Not good news, however; it's been officially
terminated. Someone reported it to Hasbro, the owners of MLP, and
despite it being a non-profit game, the use of trademarked names and
characters and art, because of US copyright laws, forced Hasbro to
defend their copyright or lose it. So MLP Online had to be cancelled,
even though Hasbro apparently didn't really want to.
ArPharazonV (4:23:54 PM): What this means for other fangames in
progress is not clear; though the trademark use seems to have been
heaviest in this game from what I can tell, including its name. There's
good hope for other games; one of them even deliberately avoids putting
in characters from the show to avoid this kind of trouble.

ArPharazonV (4:25:27 PM): The group that made MLP Online is no longer
allowed to continue the game with further episodes, nor can it
publically distribute the first finished episode; but if it's already
downloaded you can still keep it. And since episode 1 was already
downloadable in a pretty good state before all this, it's still a nice
game to play, even though it's no longer officially supported, and only
a small part of the story.
Ariehn V (4:25:35 PM): i really liked the little pony reenactment of LotrO
ArPharazonV (4:26:13 PM): Legends of Equestria
is still going, Arien, which is more of an MMO type like WoW or LotRO,
and that's the one that avoids using official characters.
ArPharazonV (4:26:20 PM): So we might still have something like that :)

ArPharazonV (4:26:44 PM): Anyway,
ArPharazonV (4:28:00 PM): the group that made MLP has already announced
plans to tell us the story they had planned, and they're continuing as
a sort of studio, and already have an awsome (or so they're told)
project in mind that they'll be announcing somewhere over the next
week; even if it's not pony-related, it will still be something to look
out for, because MLP Online was very well made.
ArPharazonV (4:28:56 PM): So if you're interested, look out for.. what's the new name, looking it up...
ArPharazonV (4:29:09 PM): Starlight Studios.
ArPharazonV (4:29:25 PM): Oh, and I see it *is* pony-related, though they're not telling us anything else.
ArPharazonV (4:30:13 PM): They're aiming for completion on that before
the next Bronycon in 2013, which is a late summer convention, so we
won't have to wait all that long this time, if all goes well. I'll let
you know when there's more news for that :)

ArPharazonV (4:38:04 PM): Hmm. Can't remember their names as yet, maybe
with a bit of thought; but if I remember right we don't meet Frodo
until around his 33rd birthday party, at which point they're already
dead.

the First Age for the War of Wrath, but they didn't get off their ships

Wrath, so the Calaquendi in total had sailed east at least once, hehe.

Eonwe Valar (8:45:48 PM): Among the changes, there's now a page giving
some basic general info useful to WoW Players. I'd be glad to put up a
similar one for LotRO if there's anyone on LotRO who would like to
compile the info.
Eonwe Valar (8:46:51 PM): That goes for other games too, if anyone has
tips they'd like put up for things like Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, etc.
