Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Phar the Speedy :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya
ArPharazonV: Just got home, actually, and was looking forward to some Darkmoon Faire dailies
VardaValar1: And here I am nearly half an hour early. You're good!
ArPharazonV: but it seems my gametime ran out
VardaValar1: o cool :-)
VardaValar1: o dear!
VardaValar1: Game card ran out?
ArPharazonV: yep
VardaValar1: ugh
ArPharazonV: Will buy a new one tomorrow.
VardaValar1: Might have to play a flash game meanwhile. :-)
VardaValar1: *drags you to LotRO*
ArPharazonV: That's likely :-)
VardaValar1: oops, that's not a flashgame.
AriehnV has entered the room.
AriehnV: aiya follks
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien :-)
VardaValar1: ok, out of LotRO
VardaValar1: Eonwe seems to be having trouble entering
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Glorfindel :-)
VardaValar1: Eonwe seems to be having trouble coming in
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Glorfindel VG: Aiya :-)
VardaValar1: There he is. :-)
Eonwe Valar: Heya. Internet disconnected while trying to get in the first time.
VardaValar1: ouch
VardaValar1: Invites sent
fladrifv has entered the room.
fladrifv: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: Heya Fladrif
VardaValar1: Aiya Fladrif :-)
VardaValar1: Nice group today :-)

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: A star shines on the hour of our meeting.
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: Fangorn is enjoying the last few days of his vacation and is in WoW, planning to run with the group tonight. :-)
VardaValar1: Any other membership news?
VardaValar1: Alas, my coffee cup is empty, heh.

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: More chapters on a story were sent in, but incomplete still so it's not up.
VardaValar1: Any other Web news?

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Lots of that, anyway.
VardaValar1: Anyone like to mention non-WoW or non-LotRO gaming this week? Oh, and Phar is having a problem in WoW.
ArPharazonV: Gametime ran out, will have to get a new card tomorrow. Bit of a shame since I was hoping to get a decent start at the Darkmoon Faire, but already lost today to it.
ArPharazonV: Oh well, can't be helped.
VardaValar1: It'll give you an extra shove tomorrow!
galdorandwe has entered the room.
galdorandwe: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Galdor :-)
VardaValar1: WoW:
ArPharazonV: Also, did a lot of flashgames this week, really starting to get into "upgrade" games, really a variety of genres but where you can do levels etc, gain money, spend money on upgrades, and do the levels easier. I just really like those for some reason.
VardaValar1: o pardon
VardaValar1: Sounds a bit like a little MMO?
ArPharazonV: If anyone knows any good ones, let me know! ;-)
VardaValar1: WoW:
ArPharazonV: Maybe. But also rather different. Some of the popular ones are "launch" games, for example, where you need to reach a certain distance through some mechanic, get cash for the effort, upgrade your stuff, and then be able to go further.
VardaValar1: Eonwe, do you have the report?
ArPharazonV: Sorry, that's it for me, carry on :-)
VardaValar1: Pardon, the usual typing message is not showing at the bottom!
ArPharazonV: Might be my ancient AIM version.
VardaValar1: It used to show. hmm. Time to be extra careful when you're talking!
AriehnV: i saw you Cala at Darkmoon before it ran out ^^
VardaValar1: At least he's right there handy.
ArPharazonV: That was last night, yes, Arien, my time ran out today :-) In fact, I wasn't home for most of it, but when I tried to log in half an hour ago I ran into the gametime trouble.
ArPharazonV: *most of today, I mean
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis
karakedi25: can't stay long--another dinner with in-laws
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: okies

VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, go ahead
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
Eonwe Valar: Sunday Run:
Eonwe Valar: Participants: Arien, Eonwë, Fangorn, Varda, Glorfindel, Eowyn, ElwingTonight was a low level run night. Arien, Eonwë, Fangorn, and Varda went through Deadmines. Then Glorfindel joined the group. We worked Arien up to the level for Blackfathom Deeps. Eonwë had some lag issues, and gave his spot to Eowyn for this run. Arien and Glorfindel had to go while the dungeon was still underway, but the others were able to make it through.Varda, Eowyn, and Fangorn then prepared to run Shadowfang Keep, and brought Eonwë back in. Eowyn had to go, but Elwing joined us. Eonwe Valar: Friday Run:
Eonwe Valar: Eonwe came in late, but at least two runs were had in his absence.
Eonwe Valar: Well of Eternity(new heroic instance) by Nob, Bofur, and BIlbo.
Eonwe Valar: Ramparts and Blood Furnace by Elwing, Eowyn, Varda, Fangorn, and guild firend Schlep.
Eonwe Valar: *guild friend
Eonwe Valar: Glorfindel and I were on during the night, but too late to get in on the other action.
Eonwe Valar: Also, normally I would've announced this first, but 4.3 came out this week :} And as Phar already alluded to, the Darkmoon Faire is now going in its new location.
Eonwe Valar: That's it from me.
VardaValar1: How do we get to the new location for Darkmoon Faire, the island.
Eonwe Valar: I assume there'll be Faire barkers in the cities that can teleport you, but I haven't made my way to the Faire yet.
ArPharazonV: Through portals at the previous locations, actually.
VardaValar1: Thanks, Phar.
ArPharazonV: So, south of Goldshire, and.. wherever the place was in Mulgore.
Eonwe Valar: That works too.
ArPharazonV: The barkers just direct you to those locations.
ArPharazonV: They also allow you to get a guide which allows you to collect things in instances etc, which you can use for Faire tickets. So it's advisable to do the barker's quest.
VardaValar1: Thanks, good tip there.

VardaValar1: LotRO:
VardaValar1: Monday we didn't have a healer for a 6-man, so we did some 3-mans and some questing together. Always something to do.
VardaValar1: Wednesday we did quite a bit, made up for Monday.
VardaValar1: We 5-manned the Prancing Pony skirmish and looked good doing it.
VardaValar1: We 5-manned the Amon Sul skirmish, not doing so great at the end.
VardaValar1: School/Library 3-mans did fine.
VardaValar1: Then 4 of us joined up with Lhee group and did a 12-man Way of the Smiths successfully.
VardaValar1: Saturday went very well.
karakedi25: We're getting gooooood!
VardaValar1: We 12-manned Breaching the Necromancer's Gate, Tuckborough, Battle in the Tower, and Defense of the Prancing Pony, all successfully.
VardaValar1: Celeborn was this week's winner of the Worn Symbol of Celebrimbor.
VardaValar1: We have a fair number of people on for most of the day and well into the evening every day. :-)
VardaValar1: Any other comments, news, suggestions?

VardaValar1: Indis is in California now. :-)
karakedi25: Sadly, I have to leave now....(and back from CA, actually)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1: Indis is back from California now. ^^
karakedi25: so back on 'normal' time
VardaValar1: Namarie, Indis!
VardaValar1: yay!
karakedi25: namarie, mellyn

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
Eonwe Valar: Take care :}
karakedi25 has left the room.
VardaValar1: Any suggestions for a topic? : )
VardaValar1: Who is your favorite Silmarillion Elf and why? : )
VardaValar1: If you can't pick just one, feel free to mention more than one.
ArPharazonV: Hmm. Well. Luthien and Fingolfin come to mind most.
VardaValar1: (I believe everyone in this group read the Sil)
VardaValar1: Good ones, both.
Glorfindel VG: Finrod for me, I think
VardaValar1: I'll second Finrod. : )
galdorandwe: I'll Third Finrod
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: Figured more of you guys would second Luthien. : )
ArPharazonV: Luthien, being Maia-blooded... most beautiful of elves, courageous for love, capable of enchanting Melkor to sleep with her singing, and even convincing Mandos to release her and Beren back to Middle-Earth.
VardaValar1: Hard act to follow.
AriehnV: hmmmm dont know actually ... Luthien aye sure , good candidate but i have to admit i d have to read it again
ArPharazonV: Fingolfin for his strength and leadership, leading his people in Beleriand despite, or perhaps because of his differences with his brother; the nobility he always showed even in Valinor when confronting Feanor; and the way he went a bit insane/desperate at the end, challenging Morgoth to a duel and even doing harm to him.
ArPharazonV: Probably my favorite High King :-)
VardaValar1: The elf that actually left his mark vs Morgoth. : )
ArPharazonV: Exactly!
ArPharazonV: Come to think of it, my two favorites are the only ones who actually managed to obtain some personal victory when face to face with Morgoth. Even if it killed Fingolfin, he still did some lasting damage.
VardaValar1: Finrod: for sticking to what's right, even though it meant losing his kingdom and his life for a promise to a human.
VardaValar1: Well said, Phar.
VardaValar1: Finrod: for his way of doing first contact with humans. They woke up with him in their camp playing one of their harps and thought they were in a dream at first.
VardaValar1: Plenty of really interesting elves in the Sil. Picking a favorite is tough.
ArPharazonV: They all had their moments ;-)
AriehnV: Thingol i think i like Thingol
VardaValar1: Elu Thingol, another great one.
Glorfindel VG: Beleg
VardaValar1: Aye, that was a great elf. Tremendous loyalty, bravery, ability.
ArPharazonV: While not a really "favorite", Feanor surely was interesting :-)
ArPharazonV: *really a
VardaValar1: Aye, he was. And he affected all of the history of the elves after him.
Eonwe Valar: In the past, my answer to this kind of question would've included Fëanor. Thinking on it now, however, I realize there's not a whole lot about him that should be admired.
VardaValar1: Agreed. He was important to the history, however.
Glorfindel VG: He made a good example out of himself
Glorfindel VG: pride and ability leads to downfall
Glorfindel VG: etc
Eonwe Valar: Strong, yes; he fought off a number of Balrogs when those around him were slain.
VardaValar1: and he drug everyone down with him when he fell.
VardaValar1: He had terrific persuasive power. If only he had turned it to better purposes.
Eonwe Valar: He was perceptive enough to see even through Morgoth's veils, given the right motivation.
VardaValar1: True
Eonwe Valar: And aye, he was greatly persuasive.
VardaValar1: He did care about his father.
ArPharazonV: Great craftsman too, of course. Palantiri, Silmarilli, just to name the more famous ones :-)
VardaValar1: He had tremendous crafting ability, even if he preferred to forget that the amazing light of it was not of his craft in the silmarils.
Eonwe Valar: However, he was overconfident, which is what eventually cost him his life. Knowing his cause was doomed, he forced his sons to swear the oath three more times before he died, as if the first time was condemning enough.
VardaValar1: The oath was impossible and doomed not only his sons but those involved with them.
VardaValar1: He had a lot of sons!
Eonwe Valar: He was a hypocrite, taking from others their most prized poessession in order to regain his own, perpetuating Morgoth's damage to Aman.
ArPharazonV: 7 is a whole lot of kids for an elf
AriehnV: Turgon is another great one, ..he showed quite a bit of forsight, and he was open to the Messages of the Valor . If i remember right he listened to Ulmo once in putting armor for Tuor (probably i mix memories again) in his old residence before moving first to Nargothrond and then Gondolin
VardaValar1: He [Feanor] was willing to do the kinslaying, and then destroy the very ships he knew were as precious to them as simarils to him.
Eonwe Valar: He [Feanor] abandoned his own brother, and his own people.
VardaValar1: Turgon did quite well. His failing was not being willing to move from Gondolin when warned. He had become too invested in it.
ArPharazonV: I'm not sure Feanor could really conceive anything being as important to other people as the silmarils to him. Compassion wasn't his strong point.
VardaValar1: In a way, hearing the Teleri say that may have made him want to destroy the ships. How dare they be compared to his silmarils.
VardaValar1: In at least one story, one of his twin sons was on one of the boats that was burned. He'd been sleeping there.
ArPharazonV: Ah, yes, I remember that. In the History.
VardaValar1: Aye.
VardaValar1: I liked the visual of the moment when Fingolfin came off the Helcaraxe into Middle-earth, and the Moon rose. The new light frightened Morgoth, and it should, as it was the coming of real foes.
ArPharazonV: And the sun rose on his march, and flowers sprang beneath their feet :-)
VardaValar1: A blessing : )
VardaValar1: Aye, after the Moon, later it says
VardaValar1: "as the host of Fingolfin marched into Mithrim the Sun rose flaming in the West"
VardaValar1: He unfurled his banners, flowers sprang up at their marching feet, and the age of the stars was ended.
VardaValar1: The Moon came up when Fingolfin landed, the Sun was later.
VardaValar1: With all that light, their hosts went straight to Angband, with the enemy hiding from the light.
ArPharazonV: and they knocked on the doors I think?
VardaValar1: heh, aye, in rough fashion.
VardaValar1: Maedhros was hanging on the side and heard them and cried out to them.
VardaValar1: Unfortunately they didn't hear him over the noise.
VardaValar1: Fingolfin was wary of Morgoth's wiles and withdrew, rather than rushing into Morgoth's home lair though.
VardaValar1: Any other elves we'd like to mention before closing? : )
VardaValar1: (We shall all kick ourselves later for not mentioning someone or other.)
Eonwe Valar: Maedhros is a mostly good guy, and a lefty, albeit not born that way, hehe.
ArPharazonV: Fingon could be named.
VardaValar1: heh, he learned, aye!
VardaValar1: (Our Eonwe is a lefty, as is Bilbo. Must be a good thing!)
ArPharazonV: Was it not he who freed Maedhros, managing some peace between the Sons and the rest of the Noldor?
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
ArPharazonV: as well as taking over after the death of Fingolfin, and fighting well until he got in over his head against some balrogs, including Gothmog.
VardaValar1: Fingon did plenty.
ArPharazonV: And plenty of things between :-)
VardaValar1: If Gwaihir was willing to give him a ride to help rescue Maedhros, he had to be a good guy.
Eonwe Valar: Thorondor :}
VardaValar1: thanks, Thorondor. Wrong timing there.
VardaValar1: The friendship between Fingon and Maedhros was an important bridge between the two groups of Noldor.
VardaValar1: If there is no further discussion...?
VardaValar1: *picks up favorite mithril gavel*
VardaValar1: *raises it and looks around*
ArPharazonV: go ahead
VardaValar1: *tinnnnnnnng*

VardaValar1: After-meeting!
VardaValar1: Elwing and Fangorn are in WoW. Looks as if we have Eonwe, Glorfindel, and myself available too.
Eonwe Valar: I'll note real quick now that it's Aftermeeting, that we do have a postin the discussion thread for the RP the post calling for final name suggestions for the next arc.
ArPharazonV: That game will have to be skipped by me today :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe. :-)
VardaValar1: Well ok, Phar. We'll let you play tomorrow. : )
ArPharazonV: So, you all transmogrified yet?
Eonwe Valar: I expect to change a couple of pieces of gear soon, so I haven't transmogrified mine yet.
VardaValar1: Nope, but sales on the AH of rather neat-looking lowbie armor are doing well. ^^
ArPharazonV: heh
Eonwe Valar: When I do, I'll be wearing the Blessed Undead Slaying set :}
VardaValar1: We're considering what we want to use.
ArPharazonV: I managed to complete my Genesis tier set from Ahn'Qiraj this week, which will do for transmog for now, but I'm really waiting for the blue equivalent to drop from the bosses.
Eonwe Valar: Plus the Lightbringer crown.
VardaValar1: Fits your Auros. : )
VardaValar1: We need dye! Blue dye for Phar. : )
VardaValar1: EverQuest had dye. I was so happy when they put it in LotRO.
VardaValar1: Lets a set that just doesn't match suddenly match.
VardaValar1: Picks the right mood color for a character too.
ArPharazonV: So does Guildwars. But while I like the blue version, and I'm working on a mount for it through archeology... if I really had dye, I'd paint the entire set red. Red Genesis would look quite impressive.
Eonwe Valar: Aquamarine Quraji Battle tank?
ArPharazonV: Yeah, that's the one
Eonwe Valar: *Qiraji
ArPharazonV: Currently at 55 Tol'vir solves, and it's going rather fast since the patch, since they upped the amount of fragments you get.
ArPharazonV: But a guildy of mine had both the pet and the mount at 57 solves, and I have neither at 55, so a bit annoyed ;-)
Eonwe Valar: They did? Hmm, I might have to spend some time on Archaeology again.
ArPharazonV: Oh yes. From 3-6 to 5-9 now.
Eonwe Valar: Not a large jump, but every bit helps.
VardaValar1: Aye
ArPharazonV: It's rather significant when you get to it.
Eonwe Valar: And on archeology, I'll take every little bit I can get, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: Aye, it can add up quickly.
Eonwe Valar: *archaeology
ArPharazonV: Eh, both spellings are generally accepted.
Eonwe Valar: I like the a :}
VardaValar1: Me too. : )
VardaValar1: Really an ae stuck together.
Eonwe Valar: Like Aelfwine :}
ArPharazonV: And Aerendil.
VardaValar1: Right. : )
Eonwe Valar: Earendil actually :}
ArPharazonV: whoops
VardaValar1: Latin style, comfy with the style.
ArPharazonV: my bad, then!
Eonwe Valar: Ćlfine :}
Eonwe Valar: Ćlfwine
Eonwe Valar: Archćology :}
ArPharazonV: Anyway, I decided that when I reached 50 solves I'd start using my keystones. And since I had nearly 40 of them, I can go a good while. So it's even faster.
ArPharazonV: I now solve 5 at a time.
ArPharazonV: Hopefully it's just a matter of time ;-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
Eonwe Valar: Hmm, I don't see any Faire barkers in Stormwind, just a poster on a wall saying to see the Faire,.. and no quest.
ArPharazonV: I saw one in the dwarven district.
ArPharazonV: Should show up as an exclamation mark in your minimap. If not, it might be a low level quest, so you need to track those, but I don't think that's the case.
Eonwe Valar: I already track them.
ArPharazonV: Then you should find it there.
Eonwe Valar: I did the old quest a long time ago, something which is known to cause issues for Blizzard in other cases, hehe. I would've thought they'd take care of those issues by now though.
ArPharazonV: Hmm.
ArPharazonV: Also, reading about 4.3 hotfixes atm. "# Druids are no longer removed from their Shapeshifted form when they gain the Shadowcloak buff."
ArPharazonV: I'm pretty sure I did Well of Eternity on the first day, and it never removed me from my shapeshift form.
Eonwe Valar: "Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mage" But no quest from her.
ArPharazonV: Oh, from wowhead, "If you did this quest before 4.3 patch You can obtain Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide by talking to Selina Dourman @ 55.55, 54.75 in Darkmoon Faire Island."
ArPharazonV: You'll miss out on 5 tickets though, a shame.
Eonwe Valar: The Greeter at the old spot will give one too.
ArPharazonV: oh, that's good
VardaValar1: In WoW we now have Eonwe, Varda, Nob, Elwing, Sauron, and Fangorn
VardaValar1: Glorfindel, are you coming tonight? I assume Arien can't?
Glorfindel VG: Yes, I will be joining you in a bit
VardaValar1: Cool :-)
AriehnV: what are you up to tonight ? i think i better pass although i will pop in to say goodbye i think .. its not easy for me to give you guys a pass .. sigh but thats the way it is
VardaValar1: Fangorn has the 1 Ring. Description says it's not quite as good as the 2 Ring. :-)
AriehnV: hehe
VardaValar1: ok, see you there for a few minutes anyway.
ArPharazonV: They made a 2 Ring later, I think it was 22 of each stat.
Eonwe Valar: Looks like there's a Quest for the Faire that gives 5 Archaeology skill points.
VardaValar1: heh
ArPharazonV: You need to deliver 15 fossil fragments.
ArPharazonV: There's one for every profession.
Eonwe Valar: I just thought I'd mention it for those who are still working up Archaeology :}
ArPharazonV: fair enough
galdorandwe has left the room.
fladrifv has left the room.
AriehnV has left the room.
