fladrifv has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Fladrif :-)
luthienathariel has entered the room.
fladrifv: Aiya
VardaValar1: Thanks

luthienathariel: sorry, Aiya!
ArPharazonV: Aiya Luthien

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: A star shines on the hour of our meeting. : )
Membership:
ArPharazonV: as long as it's not Oiyo
luthienathariel: îl síla nan lû govaded mîn!
VardaValar1: Eonwe just signed on, I'll hold back a second.
luthienathariel: (ditto)
VardaValar1: Ok, now that marvelous use of diacritical marks just makes me wish I could do that!
luthienathariel: can't you?
luthienathariel: you are on windows? Then it is a keyboard setting - I think it is US International
ArPharazonV: îl síla nan lû govaded mîn
ArPharazonV: yay, got it
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Switching to that.
luthienathariel: type a ' and then an e gives you é
VardaValar1: Aiya Eonwe
Eonwe Valar: Heya.
VardaValar1: é
VardaValar1: ohh, yes!
luthienathariel: Yay!
luthienathariel: Elo!
VardaValar1: Aiya Eonwé!
Eonwe Valar: Eonwë :}
VardaValar1: How about an e like he has? That's not the one I need.
ArPharazonV: type a ^ and an o and you'll have Ar-Pharazôn *nod*
VardaValar1: Anyway, I am here, surprising Eonwe, because the date for the trip I had to make was moved to Thursday and Friday, back now. : )
Eonwe Valar: Eönwë if we really want to be fancy :}
VardaValar1: Eonwe, how are you doing the umlaut?
ArPharazonV: " and the vowel
Eonwe Valar: Alt-137
VardaValar1: ë
ArPharazonV: ë
fladrifv: challange you all to make the Å
ArPharazonV: hmm...
VardaValar1: Á
ArPharazonV: õ
luthienathariel: ah the ë is like the colon and then the letter
VardaValar1: They were showing me how to do diacritical marks using the US-International setting
ArPharazonV: hmm...
luthienathariel: if I remember it correctly
luthienathariel: I only use that at work now
ArPharazonV: ø
VardaValar1: Luthien, we seem to be having atrocious lag. Aye, colon e works.
ArPharazonV: ah, found it
ArPharazonV: Å
luthienathariel: and the accent the other way is the backtick `
ArPharazonV: alt 0197
VardaValar1: è
fladrifv: we just use the ö :-)
luthienathariel: yea!
fladrifv: the golden king may float for a few more decades hehe
ArPharazonV: Ærendil?
luthienathariel: wow
luthienathariel: neat
luthienathariel: Trøzenpötikø!
ArPharazonV: ¥
ArPharazonV: ‡
ArPharazonV: neato
VardaValar1: If you do those, please say how. : )
ArPharazonV: http://tlt.its.psu.edu/suggestions/international/accents/codealt.html
VardaValar1: Thank you. : )
fladrifv: næt
VardaValar1: Any further membership news?
VardaValar1: We are seeing people long-lost in LotRO thanks to the new Mirkwood expansion, very nice. : )

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: I started an article but it didn't finish up before meeting time. Maybe I'll have it for the next meeting.
VardaValar1: Anyone else working on a project?
AriehnV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien : )
AriehnV: Aiya Varda :-)
luthienathariel: always
AriehnV: aiya all
luthienathariel: Aiya
fladrifv: Aiya sun!
AriehnV: hey Ent :-)
VardaValar1: We'd be happy to see it when you're done, as they always seem to be very cool. : )
VardaValar1: Eonwe, any web news?
ArPharazonV: slow, slow project
Eonwe Valar: None on my end, no.
VardaValar1: Gaming comes first, right? : )
ArPharazonV: I'm now jotting down the first information about the Second Age I'm starting to find in Lotr
VardaValar1: That should keep you busy!
ArPharazonV: by the time I'm done I'll have a huge text-file with every scrap of info about that Age in every book that I have
ArPharazonV: and then the trick is to make an article ;-)
top

VardaValar1: Question to the group: when we talk about gaming, what should we restrict it to? We tend to go on much too long, cutting into our Tolkien chat.
AriehnV: well i ve got a nice note on the web/ membership / gaming side :-) but anyone else first
VardaValar1: It helps to hear who you saw in Europe to help with the year end activity.
VardaValar1: Question on the floor. Any comment?
luthienathariel: re gaming talk - I would just like to be prompted when the gaming talk is over ...
luthienathariel: that'd be nice
luthienathariel: :-)
luthienathariel: please?
VardaValar1: Ok, but we do have a tendency to forget. Not on purpose. : )
luthienathariel: :-) :-) ?
VardaValar1: Namarie til then. : )
luthienathariel: :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) ?
luthienathariel: hannad!
ArPharazonV: perhaps we should restrict it to joined Valar-efforts only? I know that'll take down on my anecdotes from WoW but I can save it for aftermeetings ;-)
VardaValar1: That would be better.
Eonwe Valar: Generally, I would say keep reports fairly short: who was in group, where they went, briefly anything noteworthy.
luthienathariel: ( I sometimes ask the Ent, but he tends to fall asleep, you see .. Ents eh … ;-) )
Eonwe Valar: And aye, what Phar said sounds good.
VardaValar1: We do need to know fellow Valarites you saw in Europe for the year-end sweep. If they show up as in Valar channel or still interact, that lets us keep them as active.
AriehnV: fast done lol, Phara, Thorin and me :-)
VardaValar1: Thorin?
AriehnV: or what s his name again ..
AriehnV: i tend to forget Mackie
ArPharazonV: We also had a little instancing together this week, Arien and I
VardaValar1: Theoden?
ArPharazonV: and yeah, I've seen Mackie
ArPharazonV: not sure who he is
VardaValar1: That's Mackie.
AriehnV: Theoden aye :-)

VardaValar1: Arien, go ahead with your combo news.
AriehnV: ok a) my holidays are over and i was back at work today and b) i ve got a new anti lag weapon .. aka a new pc
VardaValar1: Wonderful!
AriehnV: hehe aye its really nice to be able to move in Dalaran and Stormwind without trouble
AriehnV: and i can even let the aim run and listen to radio online and it doesnt affect anything
AriehnV: really good fps
AriehnV: framerates
AriehnV: better graphics as well , in LotrO as well
AriehnV: and i downloaded aim 7 on this , thats what i am using now
AriehnV: so thats me :-)
VardaValar1: That's all good news. :-)

VardaValar1: WoW Uldaman server has been mostly neglected but got some love again this last week.

VardaValar1: WoW Lothar is still getting the most attention with quest groups, heroics, and crafting.
VardaValar1: Eonwe, did you have any comments?
VardaValar1: Caught him afk. ;-)

VardaValar1: Moving on to miscellaneous games.
VardaValar1: StarCraft/BroodWar lanning here: Fangorn, Eowyn, and Sauron being the main ones.
VardaValar1: Phar, Flad? Any non-WoW, non-LotRO?
ArPharazonV: yah, sure
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Menel : )
ArPharazonV: small visit to Guildwars, didn't do anything there though, and I spent a few sessions daily trying to get ahead in the Touhou series... so far I still can't get past the endboss of the second stage of the second game, and I wonder how long it'll take until I do, this seems to be one of the hardest in the series
ArPharazonV: I'm really not cut out for the bullet hell (aka curtain fire) genre I think, and yet I stubbornly keep trying
ArPharazonV: but nothing more done this week, spent a lot of my non-wow-time watching some episodes of series
ArPharazonV: so I'll conclude here
VardaValar1: Thanks, Ar-Pharazon. : )
VardaValar1: Fladrif, are you there?
ArPharazonV: Aiya Menel
AriehnV: aiya Menel :-)
AriehnV: ent got treeish i think
VardaValar1: Menel, would you like to tell what games you played this last week? : )
VardaValar1: Another one went treeish.

VardaValar1: Moving on to LotRO:
VardaValar1: The big news there is that the Mirkwood expansion came out.
VardaValar1: It has tons of new stuff all over the world, in the UI, and added new areas reached through doing Book 9, to see Mirkwood.
VardaValar1: We have new character slots, new mail set-ups something like WoW showing a list of names.
VardaValar1: A new system of legendary weapons.
VardaValar1: The number of people showing up day and night in the kin and in the friend channel has been fantastic.

fladrifv: *tried to make a step to the stage but the hasty ones where miles ahead*
ArPharazonV: *tries pushing the stage towards Fladrif*
VardaValar1: I don't think you guys really want to hear a LotRO report anyway, so Flad, go ahead. : )
fladrifv: sigh are you sure varda?, not intended to interupt you
VardaValar1: Go ahead.
fladrifv: I just had the small note that I advanced to the next round in chess championchip
AriehnV: yaaay :-)
AriehnV: congrats
fladrifv: still if ppl want to join you are more then welcome
VardaValar1: Very good. : )
fladrifv: sl has been quite normal and quiet
fladrifv: think due to the economic situation in the vs a lot of ppl are leaving
ArPharazonV: congrats :-)
fladrifv: thank you for the stage Varda and sorry for interupting you
fladrifv: *bows*
fladrifv: (not too far)
VardaValar1: hehe
ArPharazonV: *pushes stage back to original position*

VardaValar1: We had a LotRO comment of having difficulty locating things.
VardaValar1: To address this, on our forum, we have a section under Lord of the Rings Online / LotRO General
VardaValar1: called "Finding places and things in LotRO""
VardaValar1: A very useful link found there is:
VardaValar1: http://dynmap.ruslotro.com/
VardaValar1: full of maps.
VardaValar1: Another, less easy to use, is:
VardaValar1: http://www.thebrasse.com/lotro/
VardaValar1: I hope that helps.

VardaValar1: Does anyone have any further business of any kind?
VardaValar1: Is anyone else present? Please type Aye
VardaValar1: Aye
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
ArPharazonV: Aye
VardaValar1: Hi to the two of you. : )
top

VardaValar1: Moving to Tolkien:
ArPharazonV: Aiya ;-)
Eonwe Valar: hehe. Heya.
VardaValar1: If anyone has a topic, feel free to mention or we're going on to mine. : )
fladrifv: aye
VardaValar1: Three : )
VardaValar1: How were the members of the Fellowship chosen?
fladrifv: first of all ofc by the author
ArPharazonV: *blinks*
AriehnV: hmm Frodo was chosen by .. the ring .. fate .. the Valar ...
Eonwe Valar: Sam was chosen by himself :}
AriehnV: Sam was chosen because Gandalf caught him eaves dropping
ArPharazonV: well, for a start, some of its members were brought to Rivendell by fate, one could say, or by subtle suggestions or dreams, like with Boromir
ArPharazonV: I assume the same goes for Gimli and Legolas
ArPharazonV: and since they were there, they were chosen to represent their races in the Fellowship
Eonwe Valar: Well, they were chosen from among those of their people at the council, so for instance, Gloin could've ended up going for the Dwarves.
ArPharazonV: True.
ArPharazonV: But perhaps like Bilbo, Gloin's part in the tale was already over, and it was time for the... younger generation.
VardaValar1: Fangorn-(Valar) comments that we should go at least as far back as the Ring's feeling Sauron begin to move and leaving Gollum in a cave full of goblins, only to be picked up by a Hobbit.
ArPharazonV: Hah, quite so.
VardaValar1: I think we could go further back than that, since there were prophecies.
ArPharazonV: there was a strange power at work there...
ArPharazonV: we could go with Smeagol getting his hands on the Ring in the first place.
VardaValar1: The Valar operate quietly, behind the scenes, and tried to let the Free Peoples develop to handle such things themselves. The Fellowship was a major part of this.
VardaValar1: Or with the Ring slipping from Isildur to a place where a Hobbit colony would be nearby.
ArPharazonV: "Hmm, we're not seeing enough Hobbit-participation in the grand scheme of things. Let's send in a Hobbit to find the Ring."
luthienathariel: :-)
VardaValar1: Hobbits were the only ones capable of carrying the Ring an extended time.
VardaValar1: At least, without tqking over the world. : )
VardaValar1: *taking
AriehnV: aye they would resist the evil power of the ring much longer than any of the other races
ArPharazonV: "Allright, so this particular Hobbit took the Ring and hid beneath the mountains. Not so succesful. Let's send in *another* Hobbit to take it from him."
VardaValar1: Gollum was right for his part, in hiding the Ring until Sauron began to move.
VardaValar1: Bilbo had to remove it from the goblin cave, as it tried to find a goblin to take it to it's master.
ArPharazonV: If Gandalf had known Smeagol 500 years ago, and identified the Ring back then, it might have been easier to throw it down the big volcano, before Sauron had full control over Mordor again.
VardaValar1: Concerning the Fellowship, Bilbo did offer to go on the journey to return the Ring as he considered it his fault. : )
ArPharazonV: And Elrond and the others refused his offer, basically saying that he'd done enough ;-)
VardaValar1: If Gandalf had done that, the Free Peoples would not have grown as they needed to.
VardaValar1: The races would have remained insular too.
VardaValar1: Humans next door to Ents didn't know they were there.
ArPharazonV: Well, I gotta say, he cut it awfully close. A few years (months? days?) later and the Quest would've been a failure.
VardaValar1: A Wizard arrives exactly when he must. : )
ArPharazonV: when he means to, right....
VardaValar1: The timing on all this is very careful, and is one of the signs of the hand of the Valar.
ArPharazonV: I wonder if that quote is actually from the book, I couldn't find it.
VardaValar1: Frodo is not talked about much by us, but he was immensely important. Look at the way he got the Ring.
ArPharazonV: I did find the "do not meddle in the affairs of wizards" quote though
VardaValar1: Frodo did not kill anyone, did not steal, did not force the Ring away, but inherited it legally.
VardaValar1: That cut a chunk of its force for evil away from him.
ArPharazonV: That was because Bilbo was the only keeper who let it go willingly, in the end.
VardaValar1: Comments are made and seconded that Frodo was the best Hobbit in the Shire. And he is the one Bilbo chose to adopt.
VardaValar1: Sam. : )
ArPharazonV: Ah, true :-)
ArPharazonV: and, again, to Frodo ;-)
VardaValar1: Each time Frodo received the Ring, it was given to him willingly.
VardaValar1: So you brought up a good point.
ArPharazonV: I wonder what would have happened if Bilbo could not have let it go. If Gandalf could not persuade him.
VardaValar1: Also, the Fellowship was set up with two pairs of Hobbits, one set a red herring.
VardaValar1: O my. A heart attack.
VardaValar1: Frodo inherits anyway.
ArPharazonV: a heart attack? what makes you say that?
VardaValar1: It was planned to go to Frodo. Bilbo was old and stretched thin like butter over too much bread. If he misplaced it, as it tended to try to slip off his finger, he could have been vulnerable.
VardaValar1: The plan was going to go forward. Best to get with the program. : )
VardaValar1: Isildur didn't hand the Ring to a Stoor Hobbit on purpose. But it had to go there.
VardaValar1: Fate, or Namo, or the threads of Vaire's tapestry, will not be denied.
ArPharazonV: Good point. One way or another it would've left Bilbo.
VardaValar1: Aye.
VardaValar1: Elrond recognized that something weird was going on when all those people showed up on his doorstep at the same time as the Ring.
VardaValar1: He said they were "called" although he had not called them.
VardaValar1: They were called in different ways, but wound up in the same place about the same time.
VardaValar1: Boromir was the only one who was a substitute for the one called. And he was the weak link.
VardaValar1: But he still served.
VardaValar1: I wonder if Faramir would have caused much the same thing to happen, but in a less painful way?
VardaValar1: What was going to happen that needed to happen, would happen.
VardaValar1: There was freedom of choice for the end result.
VardaValar1: They could fail.
Eonwe Valar: The problem is, Faramir would've been at the Landing after Lorien.
VardaValar1: It was said that if they failed, Sauron would indeed cover the earth with a second darkness.
VardaValar1: I wonder. Maybe Faramir would've gone alone to Minas Tirith to ready the way, and known more of what he should do?
Eonwe Valar: From what we see, Faramir would not have tried to take the Ring like Boromir.
VardaValar1: Aye, so he would have helped them break up by counsel instead.
luthienathariel: yesw
VardaValar1: The orcs would still have attacked.
ArPharazonV: But perhaps they would not have been split up when the Orcs attacked.
VardaValar1: He would have seen that Frodo needed to go on, and that Sam could not be separated. And encouraged it.
VardaValar1: The orcs attacked and split up the two pairs of Hobbits, giving the red herring.
ArPharazonV: Boromir was on his own, and I'm not sure if Aragorn was on his own or with the other two, I suspect the former.
VardaValar1: Faramir could have given Aragorn less misery about wanting to be in two places at once, as he would go on to Minas Tirith.
ArPharazonV: Perhaps if they had not seperated they could've given a bit more resistance, though to what it would've led I do not know.
ArPharazonV: It could have been the end of all 4 of them.
VardaValar1: The three hunters would go after the red herring, making them look more important, and trying to save them.
Eonwe Valar: The Three Hunters didn't go after Merry and Pippin because they were a red herring, though. They went because it was the right thing to do. They couldn't leave Merry and Pippin to the orcs.
VardaValar1: Boromir made that happen in a traumatic fashion, but redeemed himself. Beats dying in a fight with orcs at Gondor. : )
VardaValar1: Right.
VardaValar1: But in the scheme of things, it was.
VardaValar1: They *had* to go.
ArPharazonV: It put Saruman off the track, and even Sauron thought Pippin held the Ring after the Palantir-sequence.
VardaValar1: Pippin looked in the Palantir and made Sauron think he had the Ring and was a prisoner of Saruman, not on purpose.
VardaValar1: Aye : )
Eonwe Valar: The question is that *if* Faramir had guided the fellowship towards separation, would it have been in time to get Frodo to the other side of the river safely.
Eonwe Valar: With Boromir there, it was a done deal more or less the moment Boromir attacked.
VardaValar1: Faramir would have helped Frodo do what he had been trying to make himself do for a long time.
VardaValar1: Sam commented on that problem of Frodo's.
VardaValar1: Faramir's ability was seeing into the hearts of others.
VardaValar1: Boromir made the story more exciting for us to read, though. : )
VardaValar1: I think it was probably a better thing for Boromir's fea, and that might have been why he was the secondary choice, partly.
Eonwe Valar: Boromir's attack also revealed the Ring's treachery to Frodo that little bit more.
VardaValar1: Aye!
luthienathariel: Boromir is also a very important symbol for how people generally react in these situations
VardaValar1: True
VardaValar1: It's easy to miss what exceptional people all of them were.
VardaValar1: Even Boromir was exceptional, but closer to a normal person as he didn't have some of the advantages of knowledge that the others did.
VardaValar1: Faramir was referred to by Denethor as a wizard's pupil for his study and his working with Gandalf.
VardaValar1: Boromir is more like a regular person, if that person was a great warrior. And he was a big help.
VardaValar1: Does anyone else have more to add?
top

VardaValar1: If not, we can shift to After-meeting.
VardaValar1: Indis-(V) added to the rp on the forum. : )

AriehnV: if we are in after meeting i d like to mention something i stumbled over in Inverness before getting this lovely machine :-)
VardaValar1: We are.
AriehnV: and i ll have look at it
AriehnV: hehe ok right , i found a little graphic novel wow - warcraft related
AriehnV: called "Ashbringer"
Eonwe Valar: I;ve got it :} Just haven't read it yet, hehe.
AriehnV: which sheds a bit light on the sword itself , the foundation of the Scarlet Crusade and the corruption of the Mograines
VardaValar1: Is that on paper only or also online?
AriehnV: havent seen it online yet , the one i have is hardback
AriehnV: and as it looked like probably just come in
Eonwe Valar: It's official Blizzard material, so probably only in tangible form. Probably able to get it from the Blizzard Store if you wanted to.
Eonwe Valar: It came out a few months ago.
AriehnV: i d think so
Eonwe Valar: If you prefer a more.. encyclopedia-like view of the WoW history, you can go to www.wowwiki.com
Eonwe Valar: In *most* cases, it's more fun to actually read the story though :}
AriehnV: hehe aye i had a read through the second war recently quite nice

AriehnV: and rp wise .. do you think Frali should wake up now?
AriehnV: or a bit more dream fighting .. like maybe brawling at the party for his elven maid or so .. you get my drift :-)
Eonwe Valar: Soon. Meren just got done treating him.
Eonwe Valar: Could have him wake up in the middle of the brawl.
VardaValar1: Aye, Frali is able to wake at any time now.
VardaValar1: Indis seems to have worked it so the scout is leaving.
Eonwe Valar: Pardon, brawling *for* the Elven maid?
ArPharazonV: Dwarves these days, too much ambition.
ArPharazonV: Anyway, I'll be heading off.
Eonwe Valar: Take care and sleep well Phar.
VardaValar1: Namarie!
luthienathariel: what is brawling?
AriehnV: well you know he might think a fight has broken out for her , some other guy interested her
AriehnV: or anything like that
VardaValar1: Fighting without a plan, like a bar fight.
luthienathariel: ah ok
AriehnV: braghling is fighting
AriehnV: .brawling even
AriehnV: but probably not then
luthienathariel: imagining the scene is somewhat stretching my imaginative powers :-)
AriehnV: easier when he can perceive what is going on
ArPharazonV: saving and sending
ArPharazonV: but there'll be more to save, for the RP at least, but that's all Varda's :-)
VardaValar1: I already intend to have Fainan start heading back with the ferryboat, and have a problem with spiders trying to follow her back on the rope above the water.
ArPharazonV (5:40:59 PM): saved
VardaValar1 (5:41:13 PM): Also, the rain is slowing down while we are dragging our buddies out.
ArPharazonV (5:41:20 PM): isn't Auros not still on the boat dragging Estarion out?
VardaValar1 (5:41:31 PM): Yes, so it will be after Estarion is on the shore.
VardaValar1 (5:41:45 PM): Meren awaits her next patient.
luthienathariel (5:42:07 PM): who's Meren?
VardaValar1 (5:42:10 PM): Also, Meren decided to use an ingested medicine rather than the salve we discussed last time.
luthienathariel (5:42:21 PM): it's Sindarin for "good" or "well"
VardaValar1 (5:42:24 PM): Indis-(V) operates Meren in our Forum rp.
ArPharazonV (5:42:28 PM): are we going into battle with the Orcs if they find us, or are we going to make our escape before they arrive?
VardaValar1 (5:42:30 PM): Nice name. : )
luthienathariel (5:42:51 PM): and Dutch for "lakes", btw.
VardaValar1 (5:42:52 PM): We should try to get on around.
VardaValar1 (5:43:09 PM): I'm going to try to ditch the spiders.
luthienathariel (5:43:24 PM): but I suppose she did not name herself after stretches of water (plural)
VardaValar1 (5:43:39 PM): These encounters are not the main ones, but send us rushing to meet the possessed elf.
ArPharazonV (5:43:50 PM): *grin*
ArPharazonV (5:43:59 PM): every time you say that I feel out of place
VardaValar1 (5:44:01 PM): The rain should have washed the Guilhine (sp) so he's more able to resist.
AriehnV (5:44:10 PM): ok right , no brawling then :-(
VardaValar1 (5:44:16 PM): Brawl can happen.
VardaValar1 (5:44:25 PM): It would be good to get that scout!
ArPharazonV (5:44:26 PM): sent, anyway
VardaValar1 (5:44:35 PM): A horse could kick it and it still be present.
VardaValar1 (5:44:48 PM): It could yell a warning, and that stir up things.
VardaValar1 (5:45:07 PM): Or not be heard by the orcs, due to the rain.
ArPharazonV (5:45:09 PM): transcript I mean
VardaValar1 (5:45:31 PM): Thanks for your steadfast sending of the transcripts!
ArPharazonV (5:45:39 PM): *nod* least I can do
VardaValar1 (5:45:47 PM): That improves the quality a great deal. : )
VardaValar1 (5:46:21 PM): So we need Estarion brought to shore, possibly an encounter with the scout.
VardaValar1 (5:46:45 PM): Fainan takes the boat across and you guys remove the ropes to the far side.
VardaValar1 (5:47:03 PM): She goes across the rope over the water set up earlier for a return path.
VardaValar1 (5:47:11 PM): Did we mention that thing in the story? : )
VardaValar1 (5:47:19 PM): And spiders can try to follow.
VardaValar1 (5:47:29 PM): She can hope some of you use a bow well. : )
VardaValar1 (5:47:56 PM): We might cut the rope as she gets close or you guys keep them back enough so she can reach shore.
VardaValar1 (5:48:17 PM): If no one can shoot at them, too busy, then she will have a lively time of it. : )
VardaValar1 (5:48:37 PM): I hope you can shoot! ;-)
AriehnV (5:48:53 PM): where is Frali in all this ?
VardaValar1 (5:49:20 PM): He wakes up and might be in the engagement with the orc scout who may have been slowed by hooves.
VardaValar1 (5:49:48 PM): We never said if its one or two scouts. ;-)
VardaValar1 (5:50:05 PM): Maybe orcs are into the buddy system? : )
AriehnV (5:50:09 PM): *cheers* ok finally something to do
VardaValar1 (5:50:54 PM): Frali made this rescue possible with that grip!
VardaValar1 (5:51:14 PM): Anyone else posting tonight?
VardaValar1 (5:51:28 PM): Menel says he has company, so he's not exactly with us.
AriehnV (5:52:58 PM): right so Frali is safely on dry land with Meren , whose horse kicks the the orc scout and maybe he stumbles over Frali who starts grappling with him?
Eonwe Valar (5:53:05 PM): I'll post tomorrow night. Want to give my post a bit of thought.
AriehnV (5:53:11 PM): but i need the horse kick first?
VardaValar1 (5:53:23 PM): There are several horses ready to kick. Hithceleb is on guard for instance.
VardaValar1 (5:54:08 PM): Not likely that the orc would be kicked back into us, but it could happen. He could get confused trying to dodge all those hooves.
ArPharazonV (5:54:15 PM): maybe one of them can spit in his face..
VardaValar1 (5:56:04 PM): I need to go see to supper. Three pies so far, need to make something solid to go with them. : )
Eonwe Valar (5:56:14 PM): :}
Eonwe Valar (5:56:16 PM): Have fun :}
AriehnV (5:56:27 PM): it would be nice if indis could have the horse kick inher post too. It wouldnt fit in with Frali who might not be able to perceive that right away, i would imagine he is a bit more groggy than Estarion
ArPharazonV (5:57:02 PM): Namarie all! I can't wait to see how this conversation continues.
VardaValar1 (5:57:04 PM): You guys want us to go after the orc party? It''s probably not very big.
AriehnV (5:57:13 PM): so i ll wait a couple of days as well with th
VardaValar1 (5:57:16 PM): We're nearly done, I think, Phar.
VardaValar1 (5:57:33 PM): If we all wait, nothing will post. : )
ArPharazonV (5:57:41 PM): Still ;) I'm off. I'm going now. Good-bye! (steps down and vanishes*
VardaValar1 (5:57:44 PM): but aye, we need Estarion to be on shore.
VardaValar1 (5:57:48 PM): Namarie
AriehnV (5:57:50 PM): Namarie :-)
ArPharazonV (5:57:55 PM) has left the room.
AriehnV (6:02:07 PM): Right then  so we need that Avar ashore . then Frali can wake up or probably be kicked awake by the orc falling over his feet , who goes straight for his throat and he can wriggle himself out of that
AriehnV (6:02:17 PM): how does that sound?
AriehnV (6:03:22 PM): Frali would be close by Meren who has the horses at her side , a kick might send flying the orc in Fralis direction .. stumble . fight
AriehnV (6:03:42 PM): .. dwarf wins .. scout caught
AriehnV (6:04:24 PM): maybe Meren can assist in holding him or some of the others might have caught up at her side
AriehnV (6:04:46 PM): well we ll see :-)  Namarie for now :-)
VardaValar1 (6:04:56 PM): Could work.
VardaValar1 (6:04:59 PM): Namarie : )
AriehnV (6:05:22 PM) has left the room.

VardaValar1 (7:31:21 PM): In answer to the burning question of "What's for dinner?", it was sausage gravy, cornbread, spinach, pecan pies and a cheesecake. I hope some pie will be left for tomorrow.
VardaValar1 (7:32:15 PM): Fangorn, Bilbo, Sauron, and Eowyn are in WoW in the Rift killing the last boss and will be down to eat after he is dispatched.
VardaValar1 (7:32:20 PM): Namarie!
