VardaValar: Membership:
VardaValar: New Full Member this week, Celebrian-(V)!
VardaValar: She is very appropriately named, since she is the real life wife of Elrond-(V)
VardaValar: The two of them are back with us actively in LotRO, in the kinship.
VardaValar: They jointly make a web page called Star and Moon
VardaValar: http://brad.bradandliz.us/
VardaValar: Menelvagor is moving, so he is starting his month without internet.
VardaValar: Has anyone spotted Eomer-(V) or his sister, the previous Luthien-(V)?
VardaValar: Does anyone have any membership news?
Lúthien: (they dont respond to email?)
VardaValar: Lots of people don't. : )
top

VardaValar: Web:
VardaValar: We have a short story up, by Jay of Lasgalen, just put up before I entered the chat, and Eonwe has already read it. : )
VardaValar: "The Librarian"
VardaValar: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/fiction/authorsT/JayofLasgalen/stories/TheLibrarian.htm
VardaValar:  Young Legolas tries out some ideas from books to his father's dismay
VardaValar: I think you'll all enjoy this one. : )
VardaValar: Any further web news?
VardaValar: Luthien or Eonwe, do you have any additions to your web pages?
Lúthien: soon ...
Eonwe Valar: Nothing from me at this time, no.
VardaValar: Thank you. : )
top

VardaValar: Gaming:
Lúthien: I am still working on that model, and some texts too
VardaValar: Good to hear! We'll look forward to it.
VardaValar: What games did folks play that were not WoW or LotRO?
Eonwe Valar: I popped into the ME mod for a bit when WoW wouldn't let me on.
VardaValar: Starcraft/Broodwar LANning has been popular at my house.
VardaValar: Not having glitch problems with it? Recommend it as still playable?
VardaValar: (You're also welcome in LotRO, *cough*.)
Eonwe Valar: Servers weren't at tip-top performance the day of the patch.
VardaValar: Everyone and his three little brothers got on to stress it too.
Eonwe Valar: So many people logging in to give it a try, it was hard to get in, and other related problems.
VardaValar: On to WoW
VardaValar: Eonwe, pray continue with WoW general news.
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
Eonwe Valar: As already alluded to, the 3.0.2 patch for World of Warcraft is out, giving us access to our 51 point talents.
Eonwe Valar: There's also some new places in Azeroth, including Stormwind Harbor and a spot behind Tyr's Hand in the Eastern Plaguelands.
VardaValar: Where is Stormwind Harbor?
Eonwe Valar: And since I know it's going to be said, I might as well say it first... "Hey, the King's Back!" :}
VardaValar: *groan* hehe
Eonwe Valar: Stormwind Harbor is connected to Stormwind, so opening your map will show you where to go to get there.
VardaValar: With the return of the king, that means no dragon in town?
VardaValar: Thank you.
Eonwe Valar: It's a nice-looking addition to the city, so I do recommend taking a visit to look around.
Eonwe Valar: Aye, Lady prestor aka Onyxia is no longer in Stormwind.
VardaValar: Yay, not just additional killage.  : )
Eonwe Valar: There is also a flying tour of Stormwind Harbor in the far corner of the wall.
VardaValar: New abilities to pick up at the trainer too.
Eonwe Valar: When you enter the Harbor area, that is.
VardaValar: That sounds intriguing! A flying tour!
Eonwe Valar: Of course, we got a bunch of other stuff to play around with too, like Ahievements, Inscription, etc.
VardaValar: And thank you, Eonwe, for the glyphs!
Eonwe Valar: Your Badges of Justice and Marks of Honor are now kept track of on your currency tab, so don't panic when you find them gone.
VardaValar: Those of us not in pvp never noticed.
Eonwe Valar: And you have a new mounts/pets tab, and the items teach you the pet/mount now, so have fun with that extra bag space too :}
AriehnV: yeah i saw that i find it nice
Eonwe Valar: Badges of Justice are for Heroic Dungeons and sometimes in the bags you get  from certain dailies.
VardaValar: An extra space in the stables for hunters.
VardaValar: 66 here, a slacker. heh
Eonwe Valar: I believe those are the general highlights, so I'll end general news there.
VardaValar: Thank you, Eonwe.
Eonwe Valar: And MP for the glyphs :} Urion's 165 Inscription now thanks to help in getting herbs :}
VardaValar: Since we already have you talking, would you like to tell about WoW Lothar server?
Eonwe Valar: Sure.
VardaValar: My pleasure, and what herbs will you be needing for skill-ups. Feel free to WoWmail Gilthoniel.
Eonwe Valar: I think I'm at fadeleaf, khadgar's whisker, and similar-levelled herbs now.
VardaValar: ouch, so am I. Will see what I can do.
AriehnV: meh you console me that i am not the only one that is so far behind with crafting
Eonwe Valar: No problem if you're using them as well. I send my own herbalist out to hunt herbs as well.
VardaValar: We can both hunt. : )
Eonwe Valar: Don't give me any more herbs than you can spare :}
VardaValar: Lots of characters.
Eonwe Valar: Friday:
Eonwe Valar: Alatar came in, said he might be joining us more on Lothar. He and I got together with a couple of 30ish characters to get him Van Cleef's head from the Deadmines.
VardaValar: Good to have him around again. : )
VardaValar: Haven't seen him on LotRO in a good bit.
Eonwe Valar: Fangorn was on standby in case it turned out we bit off more than we could chew. Fortunately, we managed the fight just the two of us :}
VardaValar: Sauron and Fangorn ran dailies together, Bilbo was around some for that, but work is eating his gaming time.
Eonwe Valar: I was on my Protection Paladin and recent Scribe Urion, and He was on,.. his gnome warlock, forgot the name of the top of my head, bah.
Eonwe Valar: Afterwards, I joined Sauron and Fangorn for the Quel' Danas dailies, and then Fangorn and I did a couple of dailies back in Outland before calling it a night.
Eonwe Valar: Tonight, our goal is to get Eowyn her epic Warlock mount after the meeting, and maybe give the Headless Horseman a go after that.
VardaValar: Fangorn says hi from WoW
Eonwe Valar: That should be it for Lothar.
VardaValar: Thank you, Eonwe!
VardaValar: I forgot it was Wednesday and am sorry to have missed out playing Horde on Uldaman.
VardaValar: Eonwe did show up though. : )
VardaValar: Eonwe, you were alone, I believe?
VardaValar: Sorry about that.
Eonwe Valar: NP
VardaValar: Arien, go ahead with the Europe WoW report. : )
Eonwe Valar: I took the time to respec and see what all my Orc HUnter had got from the changes :}
AriehnV: it is actually an Argent Dawn report even
AriehnV: are you done Eonwe?
Eonwe Valar: Aye
AriehnV: oki
AriehnV: i indicated last week that i would retransfer Finduilaswen to Argent Dawn and so i did
AriehnV: the patch gave me the chance to try out boomkin instead of bear  and it looks to be great fun even if it meant complete regearing
AriehnV: but nae mind i got some decentish green equiipment from ah and some left over from feral times .. nice combination
AriehnV: anyway as it was i had actually the chance to pair up with Ar Pharazons Calaron , two of his ffroemds and a nice pug , to finally complete mhy Master of Potions quest in the Botanica.
VardaValar: Yay!
AriehnV: The amusing was that we were four druids (two ferals, a rest and an boomkin) plus a warrior
AriehnV: it seemed so easy .. it was quite fun
AriehnV: any way we finished the Botanica and got our achievement points for that
AriehnV: I also got some pvp ones
AriehnV: The next day another rare guest turned up in Valar, Caradhron , our ffiend Valandil who is back from Vacation
AriehnV: * friend i mean of course
AriehnV: He enjoyed his holiday and feels more relaxed but he didnt tell where he was, as he is  a bit of a secretive and quiet but friendly and relaiable guy
AriehnV: I saw menelvagor as well on sunday
AriehnV: err thursday it was in the valar channel
VardaValar: Good to hear. : )
AriehnV: but he is probably offline now until his move is finished and he sorted out the new provider
AriehnV: this concludes my report
VardaValar: Thank you, Arien. : )
AriehnV: p. s. Arrien became a frostmage and Ahrienn a shadowpriest
AriehnV: carry on :_
VardaValar: LotRO has been busy, lots of people on, a number of them interested in getting ready for the upcoming Mines of Moria expansion.
VardaValar: We are trying to help folk complete their Books and Deeds to help with that, as they will be important.
VardaValar: We had a major run in Forochel, a place that hunters had all better get Kindred reputation with soon!
VardaValar: And that is where we first ran with Celebrian, our newest member. Delightful lady!
VardaValar: We've been doing book runs that took us through Carn Dum, so those disappointed in not doing the CD run Friday had a chance again.
VardaValar: Anyway, the energy is great fun to see, as we get ready for the expansion.
VardaValar: End report.
VardaValar: Arien, go ahead.
VardaValar: (Her fire alarm fell out of the ceiling during her report.)
AriehnV: thats alright its srewed back on , Bruce fixed it but it was a bit of a shock
VardaValar: I'll bet!
VardaValar: Thank you to your husband! : )
AriehnV: hehe only thing that i wanted to add that apart wow i joined Pharazon, Fladrif and Pallando in Warcraftr II on battle net , losing badly in the special games
AriehnV: but some easier normal games went okish but phara had connection trouble , but it was fun anyway
AriehnV: insertion end )
AriehnV:
VardaValar: Thank you. : )

VardaValar: Moving on to Tolkien!
VardaValar: Luthien has an image that she is willing to share with us. Go ahead, Luthien!
VardaValar: This is a sunrise on Valinor:
VardaValar: http://img.skitch.com/20081019-qexx1e3c52xt6mqkx8sm526ux8.png
Lúthien: oh sorry, was in another window
AriehnV: its a very nice picture indeed
Lúthien: I was just experimenting with the new version of Blender, which has an atmospheric scattering tool, so you can see the effects of sunlight in the air
Lúthien: and I thought it nice to see what a sunrise would look like
Lúthien:
VardaValar: That is added to a fog effect as well?
VardaValar: It is lovely
Lúthien: no, just normal default atmospheric haze
Lúthien: hannad ...
VardaValar: Intriguing that it has the haze already.
Lúthien: you can change it in a zillion ways, bc it has so many settings
Lúthien: yes, but there is always some haze
AriehnV: and quite realistic if you had the chance to watch a sunrise above hills  or in a glen
VardaValar: Room for creativity.
Lúthien: just because of the air itself
VardaValar: Aye, I have been lucky to be out camping, hiking, fishing in various places.
VardaValar: I'd like to see that effect through tree branches sometime too.
VardaValar: Pharazon is just now coming online. : )
VardaValar: We'll have to show it to him. : )
Lúthien: http://img.skitch.com/20081019-qexx1e3c52xt6mqkx8sm526ux8.png
VardaValar: oh, Grimbold-V's AIM message shows he is either recently married or about to be.
Eonwe Valar: Congrats to him :}
Ar-Pharazon: Aiya, fladrif here
VardaValar: Fladrif, heya
Lúthien: er?
AriehnV: hello
VardaValar: He just came in the chat.
Ar-Pharazon: Im atm in the netherlands at Arphars place
Lúthien: ohhhhh
Lúthien: ok
VardaValar: Wow! That's great!
AriehnV: I see  great
VardaValar: Maybe you two can meet up with Luthien?
Lúthien: depends when they can make it ...
VardaValar: Is Phar around? Luthien has a picture to show you two. : )
Eonwe Valar: Um, so Grimbold is at Phar's house?
Ar-Pharazon: yes he is close by
VardaValar: no no.
Lúthien: grimbold?
Lúthien: no
Lúthien: fladrif
VardaValar: Fladrif is at Pharazon's house.
Lúthien: in Númenor
Eonwe Valar: Ah, Fladrif, gotcha.
Ar-Pharazon: who changed my name so drastically?
Lúthien: yes, that's no way!
AriehnV: it seems that he got dcd
Eonwe Valar: Aha, missed the spot where he actually says he's Fldrif.
VardaValar: Something happened. I reinvited him.
AriehnV: aiyata you two
Lúthien: hmm, he's a bit undecisive today
VardaValar: It's the high waves.
Lúthien: in, out, in, out
AriehnV: its quite stormy and bad weather
Lúthien: not here ..
VardaValar: His fleet is probably being tossed around as he approaches Valinor.
Lúthien: well, he shouldn't come to Valinor
VardaValar: Luthien, you did a bit of research on a Sindarin word for good bye?
VardaValar: Sure didn't help him with the "deathless" plan.
Lúthien: research is a bit of a big word for it
Lúthien:
VardaValar: ok - care to tell or just wait to another time?
Lúthien: it's mentioned in the Sindarin course by Thorsten Renk
Lúthien: no I'm fine ..
Lúthien: telling you now
VardaValar: Is this the one on Hisweloke?
Lúthien: its not an attested word though .. it is not used in Tolkien's work
Lúthien: no
Lúthien: that's agood one too
Lúthien: this one is here:
Lúthien: http://www.phy.duke.edu/~trenk/elvish/
Lúthien: he's got a lot of good stuff
VardaValar: The Book of Silver Leaves
Lúthien: but anyway - to explain it is quickly done
Lúthien: Námarië literally means "be well"
Lúthien: na (1) form of the verb "to be", evidently the imperative (or subjunctive)
Lúthien: márië (1) good, as noun (abstract formation from the adj. mára). Isolated from namárië, q.v.
márië (2) stative verb "it is good" (FS; from mára "good"
Lúthien: and the Sindarin equivalent of that would be
Lúthien: _no_ for "be"
Lúthien: and _maer_ for "good" or "well"
Lúthien: and that would make novaer
Lúthien: the m mutates into v
Lúthien: and that's it
Eonwe Valar: Where do you draw this translation of Namarië? In Fellowship of the Ring, Tolkien himself translates it as "Farewell."
Lúthien: sure, because that is the English word ...
VardaValar: Thank you, interesting. And I agree with Eonwe that in the English translation in the book, it is "Farewell".
Lúthien: we dont say "be well"
VardaValar: Tolkien wrote in English.
Lúthien: sure, for practical purposes it is Farewell
Lúthien: but literally it means "be well"
VardaValar: Actually, it has a nuance that is a permanent sort of good bye. As if you will not see the other person again.
Lúthien: yes
Lúthien: but that is what "farewell" means imo ..
Lúthien: as the Dutch equivalent of "vaarwel" has, too
VardaValar: That is how Galadriel was using it, as she would not see them again.
Lúthien: yes.
Eonwe Valar: The movie "Demolition Man" actually did use "Be well" as a parting phrase, interesting enough..
VardaValar: To fare is to journey, to travel.
Lúthien: oh haven't seen that
VardaValar: However, be well is a perfectly nifty Sindarin goodbye. : )
Ar-Pharazon: Aiya!
Lúthien: here he comes again!
Lúthien: Suilad!
Ar-Pharazon: this is the real one, for now
AriehnV: are you staying this time?
Lúthien: Galad vuin!
Ar-Pharazon: typing over Fladrif's shoulder
Lúthien: (dear tree)
VardaValar: Welcome back, actual Pharazon.
Lúthien: ahh sorry
VardaValar: and to Fladrif
VardaValar: Fangorn says the Netherlands brain trust is now all in one spot!
VardaValar: He's in the room with me playing his guitar while his WoW character is on a flight.
Lúthien: talk about multitasking
VardaValar: hehe
Eonwe Valar: Serenading you, eh? :}
Lúthien: he has his wower on autogaming?
VardaValar: The flying between points is automatic, like getting on the subway.
VardaValar: Aye, lovely serenading. : )
AriehnV: which song?
VardaValar: A more or less original composition.
VardaValar: Novaer is the word Luthien came up with for "be well" as a goodbye in Sindarin. Pretty nifty.
VardaValar: So if you see it, you'll know what is meant.
VardaValar: Phar and Flad, did you have something to say? Or want to chat with Luthien about getting together. Feed her at a cafe or something?
VardaValar: We seem to have come to an end of our Tolkien discussion.
Ar-Pharazon: what? wasn't here for the last time, when Flad was talking
Eonwe Valar: Balrogs have wings! :}
Ar-Pharazon: feed her in a cafe?
VardaValar: heh
Eonwe Valar: I should prepare for the journey to retrieve an epic warlock mount :}
VardaValar: Feed her wherever you take people out to eat.
VardaValar: Ok. Fangorn is having some chocolate cake in rl while waiting for you, and fishing in WoW.
VardaValar: I like the concept of Balrogs having wings, that don't work for flying. Where does that put me in the Great Debate? : )
VardaValar: They may well have been the spirits of shadow sent to attack Tilion of the Moon in the early days, before the evil folk lost the ability of flight.
Eonwe Valar: Well, apparently at one point they did have the ability to fly, then lost it, if my memory is serving me on the subject, so it puts you at around the Third Age :}
VardaValar: hehe
VardaValar: That is the spirits of shadow thingy.
VardaValar: The Moon had barely been in the sky any time before Morgoth sent the attack.
Ar-Pharazon: *casts....a branch*
VardaValar: Olive branch?
Ar-Pharazon: birch, is that ok?
VardaValar: Hope it's not Fladrif shedding?
VardaValar: Birch, beloved of elves, stands of it around Thranduil's halls.
VardaValar: Anyone else want to put forth an opinion on Balrog wings? : )
Ar-Pharazon: he had one wing
VardaValar: lol
Ar-Pharazon: don't listen to Fladrif, he's on beer
VardaValar: hehe
Ar-Pharazon: dont listen to arphar he is on no beer!
VardaValar: Ok, I am going to turn you all loose on free chat.
Ar-Pharazon: and no, I'm not schizophrenic
VardaValar: *bangs gavel, missing dainty thumb*
top

After-meeting:
Ar-Pharazon: atleast he thinks so
VardaValar: Elwing gave me a fancy rl gavel, pretty thing. : )
VardaValar: I'd rather hang it on the wall than bang it on a table though.
Ar-Pharazon: waste of a good table?
VardaValar: lol
Ar-Pharazon: wonder if you can still see the difference between the two
VardaValar: Considering the amount of long, edged cutlery she has, good question.
VardaValar: With and without beer?
VardaValar: Phar usually talks much more than Fladrif. : )
Ar-Pharazon: or inbetween the persons
Eonwe Valar: Phardrif?
Ar-Pharazon: but Flad has a tendency today of responding to my own comments, so it's about 1 on 1
VardaValar: Flad is fond of role-play.
VardaValar: That's it! Phardrift!
VardaValar: Phar does a little rp, but Flad tends to do it most all the time. And the rp is different.
Ar-Pharazon: I object!
Ar-Pharazon: ^ Fladrif
VardaValar: Feel free. : )
Ar-Pharazon: I do not want to be named in one name with the king of numenor!
VardaValar: Well, ok.
Ar-Pharazon: (he doesn't appear to realize he's chatting under said name)
AriehnV: *falls nearly of of sun chariot for laughter*
Lúthien:
VardaValar: That could be a problem.
AriehnV: well i have to defend my tilpon aganst vile attacks of shadow spirits wings or no
VardaValar: He did pretty well for himself, fighting them all off single-handedly. And he would be thrilled to hear you say "my".
Ar-Pharazon: only during darkness they can fly
VardaValar: The Moon was getting rid of the darkness, upsetting the evil folk.
Ar-Pharazon: moon is addored by many
AriehnV: but only because i was following  i was close behind
VardaValar: First there's these stars, then a Moon. What's next? A sun? Have to stop it quick!
Ar-Pharazon: this ent is leaving the stage,
Ar-Pharazon: aiming to go home for once
Ar-Pharazon: *waves, gives arphar his name back*
VardaValar: Farewell, Fladrif. Thanks for enlivening the meeting.
AriehnV: *sleep well Flad and drive safely
Ar-Pharazon: pff, one meeting under my name and he's already more famous than me...
VardaValar: hehe
Lúthien: lol
VardaValar: Equally famous? : )
Eonwe Valar: Who are you again? :}
Lúthien: can't trust them trees ...
VardaValar: hehe
Eonwe Valar: If he didn't like Phardrif, perhaps he would prefer Fladazon :}
VardaValar: Might be Huorns.
Eonwe Valar: But then it sounds like we're playing D2 again,..
VardaValar: hehe
VardaValar: Go join the gang in WoW, Eonwe. We'd offer you some cake too, if you were a bit closer, like in this city.
VardaValar: Oh, Sauron is with Gimli at the Texas Renaissance Festival.
AriehnV: good luck with thatr mount Eonwe aND gang
VardaValar: Good luck!
VardaValar: Fare thee well!
Ar-Pharazon: anyway, going to throw out Flad now, brb
VardaValar: hehe
VardaValar: bye
AriehnV: i found this on you tube .. quite interesting a hobbit version of the bards song
VardaValar: uh oh! : )
AriehnV: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pytVUhgBOuQ
Ar-Pharazon: throwing.....
Ar-Pharazon: its a bloody shame
Eonwe Valar: I believe that's Blind Guardian's?
Ar-Pharazon: that was Flad again, by the way
AriehnV: aye
Ar-Pharazon: he moves and types quite fast for an Ent
AriehnV: not flying then?
Ar-Pharazon: allright, I'm back, and Flad's on his way home
Ar-Pharazon: he was fixing my router and internet, so that's why he was here at the pc
Ar-Pharazon: any meeting-mess I have to sort out?
AriehnV: i see , its a long way to come
VardaValar: That's a lot of work! Is it ok now?
Ar-Pharazon: well, he's staying with his girlfriend (one of my best friends, that's how we met) somewhere in this same town, so it's not too long, not like he came from Sweden just for my internet
Lúthien: lol
Ar-Pharazon: family celebrations etc is what brought them back to the Netherlands for a bit, don't know the details, but today he stopped by
Ar-Pharazon: they're going back next monday
Lúthien: that would be *real friendship* though
Ar-Pharazon: hehe
Ar-Pharazon: it would also be quite foolish
VardaValar: Aye, still friendship when he could have been with her instead.
Ar-Pharazon: they were both here
Lúthien: but foolish things are cool  .... sometimes ...
VardaValar: Here's another more hobbity version of the The Bard's Song:
VardaValar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFXDSuBqv3w&NR=1
Ar-Pharazon: we played some Risk with the 3 of us before he took a look at my router
Lúthien: oh cool
VardaValar: Fun : )

Deleted sections with personal info.

Ar-Pharazon: and then she and I played some Trivial Pursuit until he was done
Ar-Pharazon: and router seemed quite complicated, after resetting it we needed information that was only accessible from internet so we had to install the old modem etc...

Ar-Pharazon: anyway, so the router's reset and reconfigured and this time we'll try to remember the password
Lúthien: ;0
Ar-Pharazon: should eliminate or give me the ability to eliminate some firewall problems, and now allows me to host Warcraft 3 games
VardaValar: Right the password down and put it away safely. : )
Ar-Pharazon: *nod* we did the same last time, probably
Ar-Pharazon: but we forgot where we put it away
VardaValar: Pardon, *write
Lúthien: next time maybe I can help too if you have something with the router
VardaValar: We have a binder just to put passwords in. Hard to lose.
Lúthien: so you dont have to wait for the next visit
Ar-Pharazon: considering we usually tend to lose internet when we have router problems...
Ar-Pharazon: it'll be hard to contact you
VardaValar: heh, if it's down he can't get on AIM.
Lúthien: there's phones ...
Lúthien: or use another pc to send a SOS
Lúthien: or a mail pigeon
Lúthien: or a flare
Lúthien: or a courier
VardaValar: hehe
Lúthien: smoke signals
Ar-Pharazon: clacks towers?
Lúthien: lots o
Lúthien: ahhh
Lúthien: yes!
Lúthien: c-mail!
Ar-Pharazon: reading Going Postal now, should give some extra insight into the whole business
Lúthien: yes, I thought of that one ...
Lúthien: it's cool
Lúthien: too bad he's ill (Terry)
Ar-Pharazon: only in chapter 4 or so, so no spoilers
Ar-Pharazon: yep, indeed....
Lúthien: k
VardaValar: I'm off, folks. Arien and I enjoyed looking at the Blind Guardian YouTubes, and we may have to see about her getting a copy of the animated Hobbit.
Ar-Pharazon: but there's some books in the make still, I think?
VardaValar: Mara mesta!
Ar-Pharazon: Namarie Varda!
Lúthien: Novaer!
Ar-Pharazon: oh, one thing
VardaValar: one? : )
Ar-Pharazon: before you leave...
Lúthien: daw vaer!
Ar-Pharazon: I obviously got in only late and I have no idea what's going on
VardaValar: I have email for more than one. : )
Ar-Pharazon: so you'll probably receive no transcript
Lúthien: want the transcript?
Ar-Pharazon: I'll of course read it online when it's up
VardaValar: I do put them online, so it would be nice.
Lúthien: I have it here
Ar-Pharazon: and save what *I* have just out of habit
Ar-Pharazon: but it'd be best if other people saved
Lúthien: well, I do
VardaValar: I haven't been able to get rid of the timestamp on this new AIM.
Lúthien: well, I can (giggle)
Ar-Pharazon: good, good
VardaValar: Email it to me if you get the chance. It would be cleaner than my copy.
Ar-Pharazon: I'll rely on you two to work it out
Lúthien: sure
VardaValar: You know how to email and attach, so that's all the working out we need.
Ar-Pharazon: hmm, Flad sped up my internet too through bypassing all it can within the router or something to that effect..
Ar-Pharazon: starting to see it in my bittorrent already
VardaValar: Nice!
Ar-Pharazon: wonder if it'll be visible in WoW and Warcraft 3 too
VardaValar: I'll bet you're about to find out.
VardaValar: Cheerio!
Eonwe Valar: Take care :}
AriehnV: Namarie all
Ar-Pharazon: I'm not, no, going to bed soon
Ar-Pharazon: Namarie!
Ar-Pharazon: but tomorrow perhaps!
Eonwe Valar: Take care :}
VardaValar: Something to look forward to.
Ar-Pharazon: indeedy
Ar-Pharazon: I already got like.... all Hallow's End achievements except 3, and those 3 are just luck
AriehnV: its a dangerous business going out of the door .. and if you dont take care of your feet you ll never kknow where they take you
Ar-Pharazon: I'm liking this new achievement business
Ar-Pharazon: have 200+ already
Ar-Pharazon: and I had no chance to tell you today
VardaValar: You just did. : )
Ar-Pharazon: I'll save all this week's information for next week's gaming, I'm sure!
VardaValar1 has left the room.
AriehnV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: good grief it used to be 20-30kb at a normal rate now it's going for 50-70...
luthienathariel: oh
ArPharazonV: now if I can just find the right ports to open...
luthienathariel: :-)
luthienathariel: there is a menu that allows you to do that
ArPharazonV: yes but I need to know what ports and whether I need lan ports or public ports etc, I assume public
ArPharazonV: and apparently there's a range of ports but I don't know how to enable a range of ports with this router program
ArPharazonV: if I can pull this off, though...
ArPharazonV: mucho downloading :P
luthienathariel: :-)
luthienathariel: I dont know too much about all that ....
luthienathariel: probably enough pages out there that tell you how to do that
ArPharazonV: *nod* I think I found the port
luthienathariel: ah
ArPharazonV has left the room.
ArPharazonV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: *testing*
ArPharazonV: allright, I'm back
luthienathariel: I see!
ArPharazonV: what was the last thing I said?
luthienathariel: *nod* I think I found the port
ArPharazonV: ah
luthienathariel: oh nee *testing*
ArPharazonV: well, I did find it, and opened it...
ArPharazonV: hehe
luthienathariel: so what happens now?
ArPharazonV: and now it seems to work
ArPharazonV: so for some reason, when I did that, aim crashed on me?
ArPharazonV: could it be related?
luthienathariel: what exactly did you do?
ArPharazonV: went into my router, opened the port...
ArPharazonV: didn't change anything else...
ArPharazonV: I hope
ArPharazonV: anyway, maybe it was just a fluke
luthienathariel: maybe it sort of went blank for a second to "save and apply" that setting
ArPharazonV: perhaps, but after that I still couldn't type until I restarted aim
luthienathariel: hm
luthienathariel: maybe
ArPharazonV: now I have shiny new internetz, anyway
luthienathariel: *gleam*
luthienathariel: *fonkel*
ArPharazonV: *sparkle*
ArPharazonV: *glitter*
luthienathariel: *radiate*
luthienathariel: *shine*
ArPharazonV: *glint*
luthienathariel: *grabs synonym list*
ArPharazonV: in other news, after Fladrif in his mad quest to save my internetz closed down most of my many firefox tabs, I think I have just about all of them again
ArPharazonV: so all things back to normal, but faster?
ArPharazonV: anyway, Namarie
ArPharazonV: tomorrow college... no moar internetting for me until tomorrow evening
ArPharazonV: oh well
ArPharazonV: gotta make something of my life after all
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
luthienathariel: bye!
luthienathariel: novaer!
ArPharazonV has left the room.
