Before-meeting: You have just entered room
"valarguildmeetingplace." Menelvagor Valar has entered the room. VardaValar1 has entered the room. VardaValar1: Aiya VardaValar1: Pardon, missed the time ArPharazonV: Aiya Menelvagor Valar: Aiya Menelvagor Valar: No worries. ArPharazonV: don't worry, just got in 4
minutes ago and I was first... figured I'd get
an invite, and was playing Starcraft :-) Menelvagor Valar: I forgot the time
myself. ArPharazonV: I think I'm getting the hang of
it, I used to wait until I had big armies before
I attacked and now I strike a bit sooner, I
think it's an improvement ArPharazonV: busy with last Protoss mission Menelvagor Valar: And I figure just about
everyone else is busy with mother's
day, school, work, sleep, and don't
know what else. ArPharazonV: hmm, yes, mother's day ArPharazonV: could be the reason it's so
quiet VardaValar1: That's what I was busy with,
getting spoiled. :-) Menelvagor Valar: You deserve it :-) VardaValar1: Sweet, thanks. :-) VardaValar1: I was tickled to see Alatar,
Bilbo, and Fangorn in LotRO. Usually only
found in WoW. top
VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo! VardaValar1: Membership: VardaValar1: We have a lot of people
showing up in LotRO these days, very nice. VardaValar1: New folk are coming into our
friend channel. VardaValar1: Menelvagor, are you present? Menelvagor Valar: I am :-) VardaValar1: You invited 6 more people to
our friend channel, did they all make it ok? VardaValar1: Lot of people are unfamiliar
with it. VardaValar1: That is, how to enter and use a
private channel. VardaValar1: As I understand, 5 had read
LotR? Menelvagor Valar: I have invited 2 of the
6 personally, and they made it in ok. I
have also extended the invitation to the
others, but I am afraid to say I haven't
played LotRO since. VardaValar1: Ok Menelvagor Valar: Yes, that is my
understanding as well. VardaValar1: One of them had not read
LotR, but was the person intending to? VardaValar1: You might want to drop in
today. Loaded with people. :-) ArPharazonV: hmm, guess I should close
down Starcraft then.... Menelvagor Valar: I am unsure, but with
my instincts tell me no. ArPharazonV: will continue bashing zerg at
some later point VardaValar1: ouch, ok. VardaValar1: I invited one into our channel
who is in the process of reading the books. Menelvagor Valar: And afraid I have to
keep this as short as possible, as I will
have to wake up in 6.5 hours. I have a
long day ahead of me with a girl I've
been trying to court for the past 18
months *grin* VardaValar1: Wonderful. :-) top
VardaValar1: Web: VardaValar1: Alatar says he plans to move
our site onto a larger server next week. VardaValar1: This means we will be given
new ways to log in, should come by email. VardaValar1: Menelvagor, that affects you
too. Menelvagor Valar: great! VardaValar1: So it would be a good idea to
back up everything you can, yours or
anything else. :-) ArPharazonV: 18 months, eh ArPharazonV: good luck with that VardaValar1: 18 months? Menelvagor Valar: Yes. VardaValar1: O pardon, had to scroll back.
:-) ArPharazonV: your chatwindow that small? Menelvagor Valar: I met her 2 years ago,
give or take a week, and pretty much
fell in love with her instantly back. VardaValar1: I'm trying to speed up, not
wanting to impede a relationship. : ) VardaValar1: I'm still working on stuff for the
website, but didn't make it online yet. top
VardaValar1: Gaming: VardaValar1: What non-WoW/LotRO
games did you play this past week? ArPharazonV: Starcraft, Guild Wars VardaValar1: D&D tabletop here. ArPharazonV: a bit less of the other 2 in teh
rotation Menelvagor Valar: Nothing I'd care to talk
about extensively *grin* VardaValar1: ok, just want mentions, thanks. ArPharazonV: almost done with Protoss
campaign, just have to fight my way to and
protect the temple VardaValar1: Did either of you play WoW
this week, especially with other Valarites? VardaValar1: That would be Argent Dawn. ArPharazonV: nope, don't think so... I saw
Valandil online but he logged before I could
talk to him :-) VardaValar1: ah well Menelvagor Valar: I've been playing
UFO: Trilogy, UFO: Aftershock most
precisely. Also played a bit of Lost
Odyssey, from the makers of Final
Fantasy, courtesy of Microsoft Game
Studios. VardaValar1: Lothar had team ups including
various groupings with Varda, Fangorn,
Bilbo, Eowyn, Sauron, Arwen, and Auros. VardaValar1: and Elwing. VardaValar1: Uldaman has been seeing less
of Elwing and Varda as we have both been
writing for the Stories section. VardaValar1: and articles. VardaValar1: Nothing up yet. VardaValar1: LotRO: VardaValar1: Tons of people enjoying the
new fishing, Forochel area, Book 13, new
area in the Trollshaws, and just playing. : ) VardaValar1: Menel, did you get to play
LotRO during the week? VardaValar1: Yes, you did, I remember. Menelvagor Valar: Just a bit. finished the
Shire and Ered Luin (all deeds) with
my hunter, and had an outing to the
Great Barrow, where I met those lovely
people. Menelvagor Valar: (with my Captain that
is) top
VardaValar1: Tolkien: VardaValar1: We each get to ask one trivia
question, then close down. Ar-Pharazon
goes first. :-) VardaValar1: Nice, Menel! ArPharazonV: I do? VardaValar1: You do. : ) ArPharazonV: ehrm... let me think VardaValar1: Alphabetical order. Not
required to be hard. Any book. ArPharazonV: took me several minutes just to
come up with the forum question this week... VardaValar1: I'll give mine out of order then. VardaValar1: Where was Arvedui
shipwrecked. : ) Menelvagor Valar: I have no clue :-( ArPharazonV: that bay up in the north...
Forochel or something VardaValar1: Phar got it. : ) VardaValar1: Last-king Arvedui. VardaValar1: Phar, ready? : ) VardaValar1: If not, you can push Menel in
front of you. ArPharazonV: how many Palantiri were there
that we know of? VardaValar1: 7 ArPharazonV: no! Menelvagor Valar: How did Ecthelion of
Gondolin die? Menelvagor Valar: 8. ArPharazonV: yes Menelvagor Valar: the master stone in
Eressea. VardaValar1: heh, Master Stone too ArPharazonV: correct :-) VardaValar1: Attacking a balrog to save his
friend. ArPharazonV: Ecthelion died in the fountain in
Gondolin, taking Gothmog with him? Menelvagor Valar: Both correct. :-) VardaValar1: Phar gave more detail. I cede
to him. : ) Menelvagor Valar: Oh, and which friend
do you mean Varda? :-) VardaValar1: ok, everyone gave a question!
We're done officially. : ) ArPharazonV: followup question, what are the
individual fates of the 4 palantiri of the
south? :-) VardaValar1: The one who tried to save him,
brought him all the way back there, whose
name escaped me. Menelvagor Valar: Tuor :-) VardaValar1: Palantir of Gondor, stayed in
Gondor, but to use it one had to wrest the
vision from the burning hands of Denethor. Menelvagor Valar: Minas Ithil ->
Barad-Dûr, Minas Anor -> remains,
dunno which -> Orthanc -> Gandalf ->
Aragorn, Osgiliath -> fell into the River. ArPharazonV: the Palantir Varda mentioned
was the one from Minas Anor, so in total
you are quite correct :-) VardaValar1: Gandalf gave the Orthanc stone
to Aragorn. VardaValar1: Yay team! ArPharazonV: and what happened to the
Orthanc stone after it went to Aragorn? Menelvagor Valar: I dunno actually.
presumably it went and stayed in
Minas Tirith, or perhaps to a rebuilt
Osgiliath. VardaValar1: Aragorn used it to show the
Heir of Isildur to Sauron, making him think
he might have the Ring, and distracting him
from Frodo. VardaValar1: Osgiliath was not rebuilt. Menelvagor Valar: been too long since I
read LotR, let alone the appendices ;-) VardaValar1: Is that what you were looking
for, Phar? ArPharazonV: yep, it did stay with Aragorn,
and he continued to use it during his rule VardaValar1: We need a good Palantir
article. ArPharazonV: and presumably, so did his
descendants ArPharazonV: I have an online source here
that says he reinstated it in Orthanc, and the
article gives several books as sources, but in
what book it stood I can't say VardaValar1: It doesn't mention which book
was the source? VardaValar1: I mean, Tolkien book. Menelvagor Valar: Ok, bedtime for me.
I've looked up everything I need for
tomorrow :-). Most specifically what
time the sun sets on the beach and
what time I will have to leave to get
there in time :-) ArPharazonV: nope, it's a major palantir
article, and just a list of books/sources at the
bottom VardaValar1: Sounds great, Menel! ArPharazonV: no information what info came
from what book VardaValar1: Sleep well, if you can. : ) ArPharazonV: Namarie Menelvagor! ArPharazonV: Good luck :-) VardaValar1: Namarie folks. :-) ArPharazonV: you going too? Menelvagor Valar: Namarie! Menelvagor Valar has left the room. VardaValar1: aye, family is not done spoiling
me. : ) VardaValar1: I only said one question each.
And it's late for you as well. VardaValar1: Enjoy SC : ) ArPharazonV: late? for me? nah VardaValar1: heeh ArPharazonV: not even midnight, and
tomorrow's a free day ArPharazonV: I have hours VardaValar1: *pushes Phar at LotRO* ArPharazonV: hehe ArPharazonV: I still play WoW, and I just got
back to Guild Wars.. VardaValar1: I still play WoW too. : ) ArPharazonV: it's... just too many mmos VardaValar1: Grab the $199 lifetime special
while you can. It's for the LotRO annivesary. VardaValar1: heh, ok VardaValar1: Namarie for now! ArPharazonV: I don't even seem to have
sufficient time to play the games I have ArPharazonV: Namarie :-) VardaValar1: That's the joy of a lifetime
membership, no pressure.
