Eonwe Valar: Arien, anything you can tell us about him since you tested him?
Eonwe Valar: Or we can just go with what's on the news page :}
Eonwe Valar: Accroding to the News page, he has to work early Monday mornings, so coming to meetings will probably be rough for him.
AriehnV: hehe well Argent Dawn Europe has got a new memer
Eonwe Valar: *According
Eonwe Valar: Go ahead Arien :}
AriehnV: my work colleague Calgacus with whom i regularly quest has finally taken the step to take the membership test and passed with flying colouirs
AriehnV: Monday evening at about this time, a bit earlier i tickeled all information about Helm and Helms Deep and the battle (s) there out of him
AriehnV: he had some confusionists in there but all in all his memory was not bad since he read LotR last 3 years ago
AriehnV: why that topic you might wonder .. well he chose Helm Valar as name
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
AriehnV: so furthermore he will be known on the server in the Valar channel as Helm
AriehnV: and in the global guild
AriehnV: thats my membership news :-)
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Arien :}

ArPharazonV: and won't be playing WoW and other big games for a while
Eonwe Valar: Sorry to hear that Phar.
AriehnV: aah :-(
Eonwe Valar: Could someone send Menelvagor an invite? He can't get in on his own for some reason.
ArathornValar: Just tried inviting
ArPharazonV: done
Eonwe Valar: Nothing. He didn't get invites from any of us.
Eonwe Valar: He's now trying to relog.
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: yay
Menelvagor Valar: looksie, the relogging thing worked :-D
AriehnV: welcome Menel :-)
Eonwe Valar: Great :}
Menelvagor Valar: got to be a bit careful though, playing EVE and being attacked by numerous battleships *grin*
Eonwe Valar: One more piece of member news:

Eonwe Valar: Gaming News:
Eonwe Valar: WoW:
Eonwe Valar: Patch 2.4 came out this week, as I'm sure most of you WoW gamers know :}
Menelvagor Valar: self evident *giggle*
Eonwe Valar: The week on Lothar was spent doing the new dailies mostly.
Eonwe Valar: Including our normal Friday questing day.
Eonwe Valar: I was doing the dailies with Dracxil. Caught Sauron, Eowyn, Bilbo, and Arwen on at various times.
ArPharazonV: how's Lothar doing on %? phase 3 reached yet? :-)
Eonwe Valar: I have nothing to report from Uldaman.
Eonwe Valar: Hmm
ArPharazonV: AD got to phase 2 in about 2 days, we expect the portal between Shattrath and Quel'danas to be open somewhere tomorrow
Eonwe Valar: Early Saturday we were working on the Armory and the Portal still. Think we were at 30% on portal, maybe 60% on Armory when I last looked. Obviously we're further now.
ArPharazonV: (not that I'll be online at the time of course)
Glorfindel VG: gotta run guys
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
Menelvagor Valar: 30% portal and 28% armory last time I looked on Argent Dawn.
Glorfindel VG: cya next week
Eonwe Valar: Yeah, we had the first phase done by Thursday as well.
ArPharazonV: armory shouldn't be far behind... portal's going a lot faster than armory here
VardaValar1: Aiya
Glorfindel VG has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Take care Glorfindel :}
Menelvagor Valar: Namarie Glorfindel and Aiya Varda
Eonwe Valar: Heya Varda :}
AriehnV: aiya Varda
ArPharazonV: last I checked it was about 40% portal and 25% armory
ArPharazonV: which was last night
ArPharazonV: though I might be off by a few
ArPharazonV: Aiya Varda!
VardaValar1: Sorry for the tardiness. What part of the meeting are we in?
ArPharazonV: gaming
Eonwe Valar: We were just getting ready to move to Argent Dawn unless you had something to add to Lothar gaming?
AriehnV: gaming as it looks like
VardaValar1: Just that my family's been in Lothar, Eowyn may still be in there right now.
VardaValar1: Fangorn is stuck on a drilling rig and can't play for maybe a month.
VardaValar1: Done
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
AriehnV: Argent Dawn report?
Eonwe Valar: Yep, go ahead Arien.
AriehnV: failivrin , my hunter, and Helms Calgacus, hunter as well , helped some unyielding sould to eternal rest and sorted out some demons at the pools of Aggonar
AriehnV: also we hunted Felboars to purify their meat and collected zeppelin debris
AriehnV: later that week Calgacus / helm joined up with my warrior to pacify some collossi at the fallen sky ridge
AriehnV: where we duly picked up a red glowing shard and had to face the giant king , i forgot his name
AriehnV: up in the circle the with the seed
AriehnV: even though he is a 64 and Ardanna 61 with decent dps and armor we were a bit weak so we joined up in temporary alliance with some horde , a hunter and a paladin
ArPharazonV: cross-faction teamwork, nice
AriehnV: it worked very well, in response we helped them afterwards as they were doing the same quest
AriehnV: communication via gestures :-)
VardaValar1: Well done
AriehnV: yester day Ar PHARAZON
AriehnV: helped the dwarf to visit an old friend, Azerus the crual]
AriehnV: or whatecver the overlords name ;-)
ArPharazonV: something like that... Azerus, Azzerius...
Eonwe Valar: Arazzeus I think
ArPharazonV: or that
AriehnV: or that
Eonwe Valar: Been a while for me too, but that's what I remember :}
AriehnV: with a hunter i picked up on the prequest
AriehnV: /
AriehnV: so it was quite active this week
AriehnV: thus endeth my report
ArPharazonV: Wowhead says Arrazius
ArPharazonV: well done, Eonwe, you came closest
Menelvagor Valar: Oh, the one in the Pools of Aggonar?
Eonwe Valar: Ok, so I was closer, only spelled it wrong :}
AriehnV: aye
VardaValar1: Arien, did Helm-(V) ever come up with an AIM name?
Menelvagor Valar: That one is really tough, aye.
AriehnV: he has not downloaded Aim yet but he will do it tomiorrow
AriehnV: i think he will take HelmV or HelmValar
AriehnV: but i ll let you know
Menelvagor Valar: I have a bit of a question for the weekly gaming thing on Lothar.
Eonwe Valar: ok
Menelvagor Valar: Around what time do you usually gather up to do things together?
Menelvagor Valar: and throughout the week, what are the most likely times to find others on?
VardaValar1: Menel, does that mean you're considering Lothar?
Eonwe Valar: Well, the ideal was aprroximately meeting time, but things have got less active on Lothar.
Menelvagor Valar: I've wanted to go to Lothar since the very beginning, I just could not without a credit card.
VardaValar1: We tried to meet when Eonwe could come, but that got later and later.
Menelvagor Valar: I now have one so yes, I am considering.
VardaValar1: We tend to be irregular right now
Menelvagor Valar: due to many people playing LotRO?
VardaValar1: We could use someone active and interested. We have all sizes of characters.
VardaValar1: Pardon, phone.
Menelvagor Valar: well, that's the thing.
Eonwe Valar: Some went to LotRO, others went to larger guilds for raiding, but still stay in the Valar channel.
VardaValar1: back
Menelvagor Valar: if I do change to Lothar, I will most likely close down my europe account for a while...
VardaValar1: Some are cross-guilded.
VardaValar1: Your European people are far more active at this point. We are in need of an organizer on Lothar right now.
Menelvagor Valar: but the problem is, I like the company in WoW and I love to raid, but of course, being on US time, that will be a bit hard.
Menelvagor Valar: I am unsure whether I could to be honest.
Menelvagor Valar: time zones are a real pain in the ... figurative behind.
VardaValar1: Then you can pop in with our more casual group. :-)
VardaValar1: Right now we have very weird times, may be ok with yours.
Menelvagor Valar: between lunch and dinner? :-)
VardaValar1: What is that in EST? (Then I translate to CST)
Menelvagor Valar: that is in EST :-)
VardaValar1: Eowyn is on right now, I believe.
VardaValar1: That can work, aye.
Menelvagor Valar: it is past midnight here, so around 5 PM CST if I am not mistaken.
VardaValar1: Aye
VardaValar1: She's been on and off several hours. My main gaming comp is blue-screening right now.
Menelvagor Valar: auchie.
ArPharazonV: ..how did 2.4 hit you all?
Menelvagor Valar: first thing I have to do is get a US copy of WoW and TBC.
ArPharazonV: any graphic problems, disappearing textures, lockups?
Eonwe Valar: I'm getting sound issues.
VardaValar1: Online ordering?
Menelvagor Valar: Yeah, that will be no problem :-)
Menelvagor Valar: just saying :-D
Menelvagor Valar: and it will take a while for me to actually get the stuff :-)
Menelvagor Valar: anyways, afk for a few minutes.
Eonwe Valar: Ok.
Eonwe Valar: I believe this brings us to LotRO.
AriehnV: some minor geristas problem in eve i believe
AriehnV: so just carry on ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Your floor, Varda :}
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe.
VardaValar1: We've all been questing, crafting, and even raiding.
VardaValar1: Miriel and Irmo are showing up again, very welcome to see.
ArathornValar: Well I have 3 70s and a ton of other 60s, 47s on Lothar but I havent been in Wow for a bit.. I'd pop back again for runs if anything was happening at a certain point.. never see anyone on
VardaValar1: We had a recent raid in the Rift again, with the Black Lions.
ArathornValar: I've been Lotroing alot recently :-P
VardaValar1: Aye, and Arathorn hit 50 : )
VardaValar1: That's the current level cap
VardaValar1: We are about to see an expansion out of Eriador
VardaValar1: into Eregion, Moria, and Lothlorien.
VardaValar1: With an increased level cap to 60, plus fishing, among other fun things.
VardaValar1: New costume recipes are now in use amongst guild members.
ArPharazonV: ooh, fishing
VardaValar1: And we have been doing more with the music system trying to get our band going.
ArPharazonV: be careful when you find any gold rings on the bottom of the river...
Menelvagor Valar: maybe if I can find a free trial somewhere I could see if my comp can handle LotRO.
VardaValar1: Arathorn, you're the first one I've had play sync problems with. We'll try to iron that out.
VardaValar1: It takes a powerful video card, fast processor, and great broadband to be fun.
VardaValar1: Also, thanks to Amroth-V's suggestion, our kinship is now listed on the LotRO-wiki.com:
ArathornValar: I alomost got a free harp lesson today but someone else beat me to it (was being given away :-P
Menelvagor Valar: I have quite a decent video card and a decent processor, though I do lag out in WoW at times, so my guess is not, as I lagged out heavily in the LotRO beta.
VardaValar1: http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Kinships_of_Landroval
VardaValar1: We are listed in other places too, but that is the most recent.
VardaValar1: The raid was in the Rift, where arguably the best gear can be had.
VardaValar1: We also have a lot of Grand Master crafters who make really great gear of all kinds.
VardaValar1: Any others have another LotRO comment?
ArathornValar: Guess there won't be a Carn Dum run tonight .. was only 3 of us there yesterday :-P
ArathornValar: No matter Im playing my 4 other chars right now .. trying to get 3 up to lvl 10 =)
VardaValar1: I'm blue-screening, will see if I can fix it.
ArathornValar: Got my Minst to 16 yest
VardaValar1: Be sure to do your deeds as you go along, saves hassle later.
Eonwe Valar: bah, got dropped again.
VardaValar1: Sure hope Pharazon is saving this transcript ok. : )
ArPharazonV: I'm most likely not
VardaValar1: Both of us will have huge holes. I was late.
ArPharazonV: since this is another pc and I'm having a lot of trouble
ArPharazonV: but I'll try
VardaValar1: ok, I'll save what I can.
VardaValar1: Can anyone besides Eonwe, Ar-Pharazon or myself mail today's transcript to me?
VardaValar1: Once it's done, that is. : )
AriehnV: i dont know how long i am going to be, tbh , i am fairly tired
VardaValar1: If you can get the first part, I can get where I came in.
AriehnV: i was working today, and got disturbed by some marauding kids who bypassed our house early before getting up
AriehnV: 0k :-) can do
VardaValar1: Currently we have Phar, Arien, Fladrif, Arathorn, Menel, and Varda.
VardaValar1: LotRO report is done.
Menelvagor Valar: I'll do it.
ArPharazonV: I have a good part saved now, hope it worked
ArPharazonV: will either send tonight or somewhere later this week
VardaValar1: Anybody who can, go ahead. I'll quilt it all together.
ArPharazonV: don't know what can go wrong here, this pc has Vista >.>
ArPharazonV: could be lots of stuff different
VardaValar1: *chortle*
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Varda.
VardaValar1: My pleasure.
Eonwe Valar: The professors in the CS department at my university tend to not consider a Microsoft product finished until at least Service Pack 2 :}
VardaValar1: Trying to work on the Member activity stuff and dropping between other things. Sorry I'm so exceptionally late.
VardaValar1: They are quite right!

Eonwe Valar: Ok, Tolkien Time: Who has a topic?
AriehnV: Hmmm since it was topic of Helm's test ... what do we know about him and the place he left behind after his death?
Menelvagor Valar: Helm Hammerhand, once captain of Helm's Deep, named after him for defending the Deep against an invasion by Dunlendings (I think), in which he lost his life.
Menelvagor Valar: Helm was said to be able to kill with a single unarmed blow, thus the name "Hammerhand"
AriehnV: wasnt he related to the royal house of Rohan?
Menelvagor Valar: I don't believe so.
Menelvagor Valar: Though he might have been a far off relation.
ArPharazonV: I thought he was one of their kings, but my books are a few rooms away now...
Menelvagor Valar: I'll check.
Eonwe Valar: Helm was the last king of the first line.
Eonwe Valar: I think a nephew took up for him after he died.
AriehnV: yes he was that , he reigned from 2691 T. A to 2759 T.A
AriehnV: at the end of his rign Rohan suffered great losses by invasions (of the dunlendings, aye) and the Long winter
AriehnV: He and his sons Hama and Haleth died so Frealaf, his nephew took over the reign
AriehnV: Appendix A
Menelvagor Valar: Actually...
Menelvagor Valar: Helm Hammerhand was not king.
Menelvagor Valar: his sister son became king after Rohan had been overrun by the Dunlendings and after defeating them.
Menelvagor Valar: grrr...
Menelvagor Valar: I should learn to flip the page before I speak :P
AriehnV: he is listed as king of the Mark :-)
Menelvagor Valar: 2691-2759
VardaValar1: That is in our Kings project in the Encyc also.
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles/k/kings/KingsofRohan.htm
ArPharazonV: pff, who needs kings... ;-)
VardaValar1: The Appendix is still the best way to check.
VardaValar1: Feel free to add to the Kings project any time.
Menelvagor Valar: Aye, page 1068 of the 50th anniversary edition.
AriehnV: same edition as I am using now :-)
VardaValar1: page 1042 of the Houghton-Mifflin 1983 trade size with Aragorn on the cover.
VardaValar1: (That date has to be wrong)
AriehnV: How does Helm then relate to Lord of the Rings?
VardaValar1: 1994?
AriehnV: (the book)
ArPharazonV: there was a fight in his Deep, if I recall!
VardaValar1: and a blowing of his horn. : )
VardaValar1: He gives the depth of history to a place in which four of the Fellowship fought.
AriehnV: indeed
VardaValar1: Did we cover what you were looking for?
AriehnV: yes , i was after the fight and the trumpet .that came up , but i wanted to come closer to the book actually
AriehnV: to the fight described there
AriehnV: or rather events
AriehnV: not only the battle took place there ..
Menelvagor Valar: there is more to it than that :-)
Menelvagor Valar: In the year the Dunlendings invaded Rohan, the Rohirrim took heavy losses and lost most of Rohan itself.
Menelvagor Valar: Edoras was taken and the Dunlending lord proclaimed himself king.
Menelvagor Valar: Helm had taken refuge in the Hornburg, later Helm's Deep.
Menelvagor Valar: That winter was particularly harsh, bringing suffering to many, dunlending and rohirrim alike.
Menelvagor Valar: In that winter, Helm used to don a white shroud and venture out amongst the enemy encampments and slay many men with his bare hands.
Menelvagor Valar: slew*
Menelvagor Valar: After a time, Helm started taking to blowing his horn before he ventured forth.
Menelvagor Valar: the dunlendings came to fear the hornblast and instead of gathering to kill or arrest him, they fled.
Menelvagor Valar: One night Helm went out but did not return.
Menelvagor Valar: In the morning a white clad figure could be seen on the deep's dike, but no Dunlending dared venture near.
Menelvagor Valar: Soon after, Fréalaf, son of Hild, sister of Helm ventured forth from his hiding in Dunharrow and retook Edoras.
Menelvagor Valar: Now, as for the tale how Helm got the name Hammerhand...
Menelvagor Valar: A few years before this invasion a Dunlendish Rohirrim lord asked Helm for his daughter's hand in marriage.
Menelvagor Valar: When helm refused and mocked him, the lord (Freca I think it was), reviled him.
Menelvagor Valar: Afterwards, Helm took him outside and hit him with a mighty blow that struck him unconscious and from which he died soon after.
Menelvagor Valar: This is most likely what sparked the Dunlendish invasion.
AriehnV: What is the source of your wisdom, Menel - sorry to interrup t you
Menelvagor Valar: Appendix A LotR :-)
AriehnV: :-) ah yes
Menelvagor Valar: page 1065 of my edition.
Menelvagor Valar: Appendix A II House of Éorl to be exact.
Menelvagor Valar: starts on page 1063, so 2-3 pages in any other edition will most likely find you Helm's story.
AriehnV: right thanks
VardaValar1: pg 1040 starts it in mine.
AriehnV: there is a captain in the battle of Helms Deep who was famed for his valour and who was said of that in him the valor of Hem Hammerhand was reborn
VardaValar1: Dunlendish blood is said to have given Freca his dark hair, so there were some dark-haired folk among the Rohirrim, not many it seems.
Menelvagor Valar: Starts with the sentence "Of the Kings of the Mark between Eorl and Théoden most is said of Helm Hammerhand."
VardaValar1: Aye, this is that history that made the LotR scenes richer.
Menelvagor Valar: I think that was Hama, the doorwarden of Meduseld.
AriehnV: with dark hair?
VardaValar1: Hama died before the Gate, so he had a separate burial.
AriehnV: i thought Erkenbrand of Westfold had that reputation , of Helms Valor .. but maybe i am all wrong and completely beside it
VardaValar1: o cool. The figure in white on the wall after Helm's disappearance was indeed Helm, but he had died with his knees unbent and remained upright, as a continued defense.
VardaValar1: Gave time for reinforcements to arrive.
Menelvagor Valar: that may be the case as well, been a long time... still.
VardaValar1: Ok, back to Erkenbrand
VardaValar1: Didn't he survive?
ArPharazonV: wasn't Erkenbrand the one who came with Gandalf in the morning?
VardaValar1: Aye, Phar
ArPharazonV: don't recall any significant deaths from that point
AriehnV: someone else significant came wirh ErkenbrAND
AriehnV: can you remember :-)
VardaValar1: In Road to Isengard, Erkenbrand is still alive.
VardaValar1: The huorns?
AriehnV: the huorns too .. , i thought of Gimly actually
AriehnV: he was with Erkenbrand i beleive
VardaValar1: No, Gimli came from underneath
VardaValar1: Down in the Deep
AriehnV: /
VardaValar1: Some who had been forced into the Deep came back by way of the Dike.
VardaValar1: Gamlin, Eomer, and Gimli were among them.
VardaValar1: Gamling
VardaValar1: In the Deep was where Gimli made his 42nd kill. :-)
VardaValar1: Also sustained a head injury.
VardaValar1: Didn't let it stop him from going on with the remainder of the Fellowship to go to Isengard though.
AriehnV: nah , Aragorn wanted him to rest and remain behind but he insisted on coming
VardaValar1: I don't see that Aragorn told him not to go, but he did tend Gimli's injury.
VardaValar1: Aragorn said he'd tend it while Gimli rested.
AriehnV: ah that was the wording true, my mistake
VardaValar1: It really doesn't say who suggested he stay behind, could have been more than one.
AriehnV: aye true, and i think i have to go upstairs as Bruce is packing up and has docked his ship
AriehnV: so i just put a cap on what i wanted to mention
VardaValar1: Thanks for the topic!
AriehnV: the Hornburg was rumoured that it couldnt be taken as long as humans defended it :-)
AriehnV: or someoen
AriehnV: as long as it was manned was the wording i think .. something like this
ArPharazonV: aye, it couldn't be taken while there was someone to defend it
ArPharazonV: something like that
Eonwe Valar: And it never was taken :}
AriehnV: it was also the Hornburg where aragorn used the stone of orthanc and reveiled himself to Sauron
ArPharazonV: weeell, we don't know beyond the end of the third age..
AriehnV: and Helms Deep was the first place for king Theoden to become active after his healing from being put under a spell of deterioration by Saruman
AriehnV: so a very interesting place indeed :-)
AriehnV: and now good night to you all :-)
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well :}
ArPharazonV: Namarie, Arien
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
AriehnV has left the room.
VardaValar1: Good night. : )
ArPharazonV: Woll
ArPharazonV: I'll save and send
ArPharazonV: and hope it works
ArPharazonV: saved
VardaValar1: Thank you, Phar!
fladrifv: oh hello and gn
fladrifv: I saved aswell
Menelvagor Valar: hello Fladrif :-)
ArPharazonV: you're probably getting a lot of transcripts now,Varda ;-)
VardaValar1: I hope so!
VardaValar1: Go ahead and mail, folks.
fladrifv: emailed
ArathornValar has left the room.
VardaValar1: Thank you, Fladrif.
fladrifv: was the least I could do for this meeting :S
VardaValar1: :-)
VardaValar1: Just coming is a big help.
Eonwe Valar: I guess I'll declare Aftermeeting if the chat is done :}
Eonwe Valar: *bangs gavel*

After-meeting:
VardaValar1: So you did more than that least. You participated and sent a transcript.
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe, for chairing!
ArPharazonV: also sent
VardaValar1: Thank you.
Eonwe Valar: MP
fladrifv: I have a time lag...
fladrifv: I hate those daylight saving things
ArPharazonV: heh, I know, it still seems early here too...
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: When does your time change?
VardaValar1: Thought you guys liked this earlier time. : )
ArPharazonV: it changed last night
VardaValar1: ohhh
ArPharazonV: which means that today is normal starting time again
ArPharazonV: but it feels like an hour earlier :-)
VardaValar1: hehe
fladrifv: its 2 am
VardaValar1: 7pm here
ArPharazonV: I should really be in bed, gotta get up in 8 and a half hours
ArPharazonV: oh wel
VardaValar1: Nighty night!
fladrifv: 8and a hlaf
fladrifv: lucky you
fladrifv: I need to get up in about 6 hours :-)
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: Sleep fast!
fladrifv: let my name be for once quickbeam!
VardaValar1: For a moment, it is so!
VardaValar1: Good night, Bregalad. : )
fladrifv: night middle earth
fladrifv has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Bregalad is Quickbeam :}
VardaValar1: Aye. : )
Eonwe Valar: Fladrif is skinbark, or leaflock.. don't remember which now :}
VardaValar1: Gave him his requested moment.
VardaValar1: fladrifv: let my name be for once quickbeam!
Eonwe Valar: oh, sorry, wasn't paying attention.
VardaValar1: No worries. Just a bit of fun, and you were quite right.
ArPharazonV: well, I'm going to retire too
VardaValar1: Adding some dates to the Numenorean kings. Not given neatly as it ws for the Kings of the Mark.
ArPharazonV: dream of ships and conquest
ArPharazonV: and dates to the kings of my line...
VardaValar1: Farewell, and may the red sails be those of rescue.
VardaValar1: Mostly undated.
ArPharazonV: And men saw his sails coming up out of the sunset, dyed as with scarlet and gleaming with red and gold, and fear fell upon the dwellers by the coasts, and they fled far away...
ArPharazonV: *falls asleep*
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1: : )
ArPharazonV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Oh, Varda, I think I sent you some more Netherweave :}
Menelvagor Valar: Netherweave... now that sounds like some fun :-D
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe
VardaValar1: Now all I need is to get a Life. :-)
VardaValar1: and Water
VardaValar1: and get rid of the Blue Screen of Death.
VardaValar1: I'm trying to be the bag lady, but not doing enough tailor leveling.
Menelvagor Valar: hehe :-D
VardaValar1: Slipping away again, working on supper with Eowyn. She's not up to standing long yet.
Eonwe Valar: Sorry to hear that.
Menelvagor Valar: wish her well from me.
VardaValar1: back
Eonwe Valar: Welcome back.
VardaValar1: Thanks
Menelvagor Valar: Welcome back.
VardaValar1: working on the transcript now. You guys doing homework?
Eonwe Valar: I was. Will probably be again soon.
Eonwe Valar: For now, doing runaround quests on LotRO.
VardaValar1: o man, and I'm not there
VardaValar1: Could be doing runaround quests on WoW : )
Menelvagor Valar: mah, boring :P
Menelvagor Valar: most of the time anyways :-D
Menelvagor Valar: Anyways. mail with transcripts sent, both timed and untimed, as I used to do ages and ages ago :-D
VardaValar1: Thank you!
VardaValar1: So what is not boring, Menel?
Menelvagor Valar: raiding mostly.
Menelvagor Valar: you know who Netherspite is? :-D
VardaValar1: You are aware that we don't raid much on Lothar?
Menelvagor Valar: Yes I am.
Menelvagor Valar: which is why I am looking into LotRO at the moment.
Eonwe Valar: For the raiding?
VardaValar1: Kind of thinking you might be happier in WoW AD if you just want to raid.
VardaValar1: In LotRO, we may be just as happy raising taters.
Menelvagor Valar: I won't know until I see it right?
Menelvagor Valar: in WoW "raising taters" accounts to nothing more than running around killing the same mobs over and over again.
Menelvagor Valar: it's the grinding that's so boring.
Menelvagor Valar: doing stuff with friends while talking is a lot more fun.
Menelvagor Valar: I can sit in game for hours and do nothing but talk.
Menelvagor Valar: and I am downloading the european trial version of LOTRO right now to see if my comp will hold.
VardaValar1: You'll have to wipe that to run the US version, but it should be a good test.
Eonwe Valar: 128 MB graphics card at least is required.
VardaValar1: Raising taters is literal in LotRO. We get seeds and a hoe. : )
VardaValar1: Have to find dirt suitable for farming those types of seeds.
Menelvagor Valar: I have that.
Menelvagor Valar: it's my processor I am worried about.
VardaValar1: The potatoes go to a farmer player or your own to cook. Then you get morale and power or stats from the food.
Menelvagor Valar: 1500 mHz.
Menelvagor Valar: now that puts a whole new dimension on farming :-)
Menelvagor Valar: very much unlike the WoW farming.
Eonwe Valar: hmm
Eonwe Valar: My box spec say min is a P4 1.8 MHz, so you could probably run it, but not optimally.
Eonwe Valar: I used to play D2 on a 200Mhz Processor, when specs said 300-333 min.
Menelvagor Valar: when something like that says minimum 1.8 MHz, it means to run it on anything but the worst graphics and the worst kind of lag.
Eonwe Valar: Heh, just got reminded in LotRo that I can move with the map up. Sure makes navigation easier.
Eonwe Valar: And more dangerous.
VardaValar1: Go over a cliff or into a den of wolves?
Eonwe Valar: Not yet. I was in Bree, fortunately.
Eonwe Valar: And the sound of injuring oneself in a fall is deterrent enough without hp penalties to never want to just jump off a cliff if you ask me :}
VardaValar1: hehe
Eonwe Valar: First time I fell off a cliff in retail and heard that sound, I was like "ouch... I could almost feel that."
