VardaValar1: Nothing about it under Buddy Chat.
VardaValar1: Suggestions welcome. : )
ArPharazonV: they don't show up in the meeting itself?

VardaValar1:
Membership:VardaValar1: Memorial Day weekend for the USA, so some are traveling or occupied.
VardaValar1: Sauron is away at a party for a friend of ours who is going into the Navy.
VardaValar1: We have a
new initiate in LotRO, no name picked yet, Aeragen.
VardaValar1: Pardon,
Labor Day
VardaValar1: He's 17, in high school, doesn't stay online very long at a time, have to see if he's going to work out.
VardaValar1: Any news from the rest of you?
ArPharazonV: yep
ArPharazonV: going back to college tomorrow
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Phar
VardaValar1: Congratulations. : )
ArPharazonV: only mondays and tuesdays in the first period, pretty relaxed
VardaValar1: Sauron started last week. Only Mondays and Wednesdays.
VardaValar1: Nice! Hope the homework doesn't eat you up too much.
ArPharazonV: the fact that I already have some completed courses in my
old study means I already have enough points to fill in my free space
ArPharazonV: so a minimum of courses :-)
VardaValar1: Congrats : )
VardaValar1: Any further membership news? Anyone heard fromMenelvagor yet?

Story up:
VardaValar1: "Night on a Bare Mountain" by Jay of Lasgalen. 6 chapters and an epilogue.
VardaValar1:
http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/fiction/authorsT/JayofLasgalen/stories/NightonaBareMountain/Night1.htm
VardaValar1: I was just finishing editing the 5th chapter
when meeting time started. It needs very little, and I already
completed most of the formatting.
VardaValar1:
Games page news. Eonwe, your floor. : )
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
Eonwe Valar: The GPMU (Games Page Mass-Update for those who don't know) will begin this week.
Eonwe Valar: As always you'll have until the end of the month to get me your gaming info.
VardaValar1: Will you take it here as well as by email? But you prefer email?
Eonwe Valar: For those who come into meetings, yes, I will take your gaming info here.
Eonwe Valar: Just not today please :}
VardaValar1: ok : )
Eonwe Valar: Next Sunday and every Sunday in September after is fine.
ArPharazonV: fair enough, you'll get it next week :-)
Eonwe Valar: Any questions?
Eonwe Valar: Ok, now here's a question for you then :}
VardaValar1: You just need the name of the game? Anything else?
Eonwe Valar: Name, game, character names if applicable.
Eonwe Valar: or rather, account names if applicable.
Eonwe Valar: I.E> for starcraft.
VardaValar1: LotRO you won't see the account name, but I have 8 names for characters across two accounts.
Eonwe Valar: LotRO I can get almost everything I need from the guild roster, which is very nice.
VardaValar1: Almost?
ArPharazonV: should I give all my names on AD for WoW, for example? :-)
Eonwe Valar: Well, I can't tell what level of a profession a person has from the guild roster, but everythign else is there.
VardaValar1: That changes pretty fast, the profession level, so we only tried to put down Grand Master level.
ArPharazonV:
in Guild Wars it's easy.. if you have 1 name in your friendslist it
shows alts online too, so only one name would need to be given
Eonwe Valar: I suppose you could include all your character names, then I'll decide if I'm going to use it or not, Phar.
ArPharazonV: allright
ArPharazonV: in time I'll delete one for a Death Knight anyway
Eonwe Valar: As for my question, what do you think of the layout of the
Games Page, and if you could, what one thing would you change?
Eonwe Valar: This is a question open to any of you three here :}
ArPharazonV: well, for one thing, if you're calling the section "Players Sorted by Game"
ArPharazonV: it seems a bit misleading to sort it by player
ArPharazonV: or am I missing something?
ArPharazonV: ahh, I guess that's what the "go" button and droplist are for...
Eonwe Valar: There's one sorting of it by Honor, the rest are by game. I agree that name could be better actually.
Eonwe Valar: Was already working on that :}
ArPharazonV: heh
ArPharazonV: other than that, it looks good
ArPharazonV: though the contrast might take some getting used to
Eonwe Valar: I use the Members by Honor sort as the default sort.
Eonwe Valar: It's been up for a year. Not used to it yet? :}
Eonwe Valar: Anyone else care to comment?
ArPharazonV: haven't looked at it too often, sorry :-)
Eonwe Valar: If no other comments, I return the floor to Varda :}
VardaValar1: I was just looking at the Games page and running phone messages. Sorry, I'll look at it again later.
Eonwe Valar: NP.

VardaValar1 (5:34:06 PM):
Gaming:VardaValar1: Any games played this past week besides WoW or LotRO?
ArPharazonV: yep
VardaValar1: I know my sons play other stuff but I haven't been watching. Bad mom. : )
ArPharazonV: let's see...
ArPharazonV: Guild Wars, Starcraft: Broodwar with Fladrif, TA:Kingdoms: The Iron Plague, Rayman Raving Rabbids...
VardaValar1: Is that Rabbits or Rabbids?
ArPharazonV: Rabbids :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks
ArPharazonV: they are rabbits, but they're called rabbids
ArPharazonV: rabid rabbits, I suppose
ArPharazonV: finished RRR, nearly done with The Iron Plague... I think next week I'll try some Red Alert again
ArPharazonV: and that's about it, unless anyone has any questions
VardaValar1: Thanks
VardaValar1:
World of WarCraft:VardaValar1: Phar, did you see any fellow Valar in the European area?
ArPharazonV: hmm... nope, don't think so
ArPharazonV: may just have missed them of course
VardaValar1: Arien's been playing, maybe on Bloodhoof, and shows up for a bit on LotRO.
VardaValar1: Arwen just phoned over here, from Wisconsin. She's graduated and moved there from Texas.
ArPharazonV: quite a life-change
VardaValar1: She says she's knitting at the moment, claims it isn't hard. I, all thumbs, beg to differ.
ArPharazonV: :-)
Eonwe Valar: Hehe
VardaValar1: Fangorn is stuck on a drilling rig for weeks. Right now
his relief is helping family evacuate from Gustav. Louisiana folks.
VardaValar1: Back to gaming, seem to have drifted to membership. : )
VardaValar1: World of WarCraft, Lothar. Eonwe, do you have something for us?
Eonwe Valar: A little bit, aye.
Eonwe Valar: I wasn't able to make it Friday, but earlier in the week, my brother and I 2-manned Blood Furnace.
Eonwe Valar: Also, yesterday, we 2-manned Underbog.
VardaValar1: Sauron
and Bilbo have been running in weekly raids with Cold Rage Knights.
Bilbo is in team number one and Sauron is too sometimes.
Eonwe Valar: Blood Furnace wasn't bad. Underbog got fun in a couple of places, but we managed both.
VardaValar1: Congrats!
VardaValar1: On Lothar this week I know of Eowyn, Elwing, Bilbo, Sauron, Eonwe, and myself. Think Arwen may have been on.
VardaValar1: Uldaman server:
VardaValar1: I noticed a number of us played on Lothar Wednesday instead of Uldaman, but I think Elwing made it in.
VardaValar1: Did you go to the dark side any, Eonwe?
Eonwe Valar: I might've popped in for a few minutes, but not long enough to game.
VardaValar1: Thanks
VardaValar1:
Lord of the Rings Online:VardaValar1: Ancalagon set us up for a Urugarth run, which went off well, lots of quests completed, bosses sent to Mandos.
VardaValar1: Melkor was going to try to run with us, but company came just as we were about to start.
VardaValar1: Amroth was willing, but got sick and had to lie down.
VardaValar1: Even with that, we still had enough for a full Valar group.
VardaValar1: Ancalagon, Beleg, Dis, Gorlim, Ulmo, and myself played
until it got very late and most of us were too tired to keep going.
VardaValar1: Play til you drop. : )
VardaValar1: Welcome back, Fladrif, o StarCrafter deluxe!
fladrifv: *grin* thank you
fladrifv: such an old game, and yet so nice :-)
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: I love to play BroodWar single, and we LAN it now and then too.
VardaValar1: Runs on nearly any computer.
VardaValar1: Fladrif, like to make your SC comments in the main chat? : )
fladrifv: with virtual machine you can lan against yourself!
VardaValar1: Cool. How do you do that?
fladrifv: virtualbox
fladrifv: also good if you want to play sc in window mode
VardaValar1: I know very little Greek. ; ) What is virtualbox?
fladrifv: hehe
fladrifv:
http://www.virtualbox.org/VardaValar1: Thank you.
fladrifv: and sorry for interupting the meeting :-)
VardaValar1: We were in Gaming. That was just right.
fladrifv: good did arphar mention the games we played?
VardaValar1: Any more on Gaming?
ArPharazonV: I mentioned we played some Broodwar
ArPharazonV: didn't go into details though
VardaValar1: ArPharazonV: Guild Wars, Starcraft: Broodwar with Fladrif, TA:Kingdoms: The Iron Plague, Rayman Raving Rabbids...
ArPharazonV: yep :-)
fladrifv: details where some nice victorys for arphar! :-)
ArPharazonV: and some wins and losses against computers
ArPharazonV: well, AI
ArPharazonV: we call them computers, but obviously they're not individual machines
fladrifv: looking forward to see more ppl join on battlenet again and have some back in the old days battles
VardaValar1: Eowyn waves hi to the screen. : )
ArPharazonV: any luck finding Warcraft 3, Fladrif?
fladrifv: have only the cd, lost my cd key I fear
ArPharazonV: ahh
fladrifv: hope I can find the package
VardaValar1: Maybe we need to take a Sharpie pen and write the CD key on the CD. : )
ArPharazonV: need to find the key first, to do that :-)
Eonwe Valar: Key is on the case? :}
ArPharazonV: which he is trying to find, apparently
fladrifv: I moved to another country
fladrifv: and I transported all cds on spindle
fladrifv: so I lost some keys unfortunately :-(
fladrifv: have only sc left
Eonwe Valar: ack
VardaValar1: Eowyn and Fladrif are about to try to get together in USA East for some BroodWar.
VardaValar1: Anyone else want to pop in?

ArPharazonV: forgotten valleys in mountainous regions :-)
Eonwe Valar: Some jungle deep in parts where mortal men fear to tread,.. or just haven't bulldozed yet.
VardaValar1: So, South America, Africa, maybe the Black Forest? : )
VardaValar1: hehe - where bulldozer tread has not yet gone.

VardaValar1: We have some huge national parks where they might manage to stay.
VardaValar1: Tree bark can get in the way of bending.

After-meeting:
ArPharazonV: I'm online under Ar-Pharazon-V, both Pharazon and Ar-Pharazon were taken

ArPharazonV: wow, haven't used that name in a while
VardaValar1: Eonwe, you going in too?
VardaValar1: I'm going to finish editing and formatting this story, looks like an easy job, then go on LotRO.

Eonwe Valar: Going even
VardaValar1: Eowyn, Phar, and Flad are going into BroodWar right now together.

VardaValar1: Please help save the transcript. Mine's acting up.
Eonwe Valar: Saved, with no hiccups from AIM this week.
VardaValar1: Did you upgrade?
ArPharazonV: I think problem was fixed
ArPharazonV: the thread I linked back then seemed to say so
VardaValar1: Hooray : )
VardaValar1: We did ok, must be true. : )
VardaValar1: Namarie for now
Eonwe Valar: Take care :}
Eonwe Valar: Sounds like storms outside my window.
VardaValar1: Cloudy here, not storming yet.
VardaValar1: Storms may help keep Gustav off of you.
VardaValar1 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Maybe. Can't say I'd be sorry to get the rain either.
Eonwe Valar: I'm going to call it here so that if the storm decides to pick up I don't suddenly disappear :}
Eonwe Valar: Take care all, good night, sleep well, have fun, read Tolkien :}
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
