Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
VardaValar1: Aiya Arathorn and Ar-Pharazon! I'll be right back, pardon.
ArPharazonV: Fladrif left the room and went offline just a mere second after I came in, not sure why, maybe Arathorn knows
VardaValar1: I'll start inviting
ArPharazonV: as for me, I won't be staying long past the beginning of the meeting, a bit sickly, have to get up early tomorrow, and want at least a *nearly* decent amount of sleep tonight
VardaValar1: Aye, resting can help you get well.
ArPharazonV: if I went to bed now, I'd still not get enough rest for an average night...
Shaggyjoe has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: so I'll probably be outta here in 10 minutes or so
VardaValar1: That's no good. Maybe some naps would help too?
VardaValar1: Aiya Gelmir!
Shaggyjoe has left the room.
VardaValar1: and goodbye
ArPharazonV: I always nap in the train ;-)
VardaValar1: : )
windofhyperia has entered the room.
windofhyperia: hello!
VardaValar1: Aiya Arwen : )
Shaggyjoe has entered the room.
Shaggyjoe: Good evening :-)
VardaValar1: Welcome back : )
VardaValar1: Leafy shamrock smiley seems somehow very appropriate. : )
Shaggyjoe: <3 my Shamrocks
windofhyperia: :-) You might like this, Varda
windofhyperia: http://talents.utimer.ppvh.eu/?p=vt&i=3434
windofhyperia: just what I was reading as you invited me :-)
ArPharazonV: shamrock smiley? I thought St. Patricks was not for.. like... half a year?
VardaValar1: Ah, that should make interesting reading! Thanks, Arwen
VardaValar1: Sauron has developed a super-priest, have to have him look it over and make comments too.
VardaValar1: But it's a leaf. : )
ArPharazonV: http://talents.utimer.ppvh.eu/?p=vt&i=1880 is one of my favorites :-)
VardaValar1: I think I've seen the trees before, but it will take this little comp a week to show it all, so I'll have to look more closely later.
VardaValar1: Thanks both of you : )
windofhyperia: :-)
VardaValar1: Silly computer is just barely hanging in here, so I'm cutting off some stuff.
Fladrifv has entered the room.
Fladrifv: Aiya
VardaValar1: okies, think it's under control
ArPharazonV: Aiya Flad
ArPharazonV: why'd you leave earlier?
VardaValar1: Welcome back, Fladrif :-)
ArPharazonV: Varda, what's up with the intro page for the guild? only shows 3 links now
VardaValar1: Did it on purpose
ArPharazonV: hmm
ArPharazonV: well, if you say so...
VardaValar1: Fladrif was saying we needed to streamline
Shaggyjoe: afk dinner
VardaValar1: We have three main sections, so that's what we show
ArPharazonV: allright
VardaValar1: Also, you can click the Valar Guild gif and it takes you into the framed site.
VardaValar1: If you would like a change, you can speak up just as Fladrif did. : )
VardaValar1: I have to go with what feedback comes in.
ArPharazonV: change it back, but I guess that would defeat the point ;-)
ArPharazonV: can't make everyone happy, eh?
VardaValar1: Nope
VardaValar1: But what do you especially miss, or is it just the shock of change?
ArPharazonV: not sure yet, I liked the direct link to the forum
VardaValar1: Good point
ArPharazonV: but I might just throw a direct link to the forum in my bookmarks then, and skip the rest
VardaValar1: I can add the forum back on
VardaValar1: It is general for all the parts, so it would probably fit
VardaValar1: Thanks
ArPharazonV: sounds good, but if there's a reason you didn't put it in there... it's probably a good one :-)
VardaValar1: Still working it out.
VardaValar1: Since it goes with all the rest of the parts, rather than being in just one, it should probably go back on.
ArPharazonV: allright
Srekal86 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Srekal
VardaValar1: I left the Forum to go under Community, but aye, putting it in front is probably best. Trying to upload it now.
ArPharazonV: yeah, I figured that's why you removed it, it does kinda seem to fit under community... but I'm not sure yet
ArPharazonV: maybe it's just getting used to
VardaValar1: Ok, give that a shot.
ArPharazonV: it works, new link ;-)
VardaValar1: Aye, programming while you wait. : )
VardaValar1: Thanks for the feedback
VardaValar1: Still leaves it uncluttered looking
top

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership News:
VardaValar1: Eonwe is having his truck repaired, so he'll be late or absent, depending on how long it takes.
VardaValar1: He says hi though. : )
VardaValar1: Erkenbrand-(V) left the guild last night, but remains a guild-friend.
VardaValar1: He joined mainly to help us form the LotRO kinship before time ran out.
VardaValar1: He's a Tolkien fan and nice guy, but is uncomfortable with using names of book characters.
VardaValar1: You can still call on his Herdy character.
VardaValar1: He has been gone three months, re-trying out LotRO and all the new stuff. : )
AriehnV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Bilbo's Birthday, anyone remember the date? : )
VardaValar1: Aiya Arien!
AriehnV: Aiya there :-)
AriehnV: 22nd of Septermber :-D
VardaValar1: A bit of trivia to go with that, the original Hobbit was published Sept. 1937.
VardaValar1: Thanks Arien
VardaValar1: Also, Bilbo-(V)'s birthday is Sept 24 : )
ArPharazonV: heh
ArPharazonV: close enough!
ArPharazonV: and congratulations to him :-)
VardaValar1: and Frodo shared a birthday with Bilbo in the books. A joint Birthday Party.
AriehnV: congratulations
VardaValar1: More trivia, Sauron-(Valar) has a birthday Sept 27. ;-)
VardaValar1: Pharazon needs put to bed shortly, he's not feeling too well.
VardaValar1: All that plotting must have gotten to him. ;-)
VardaValar1: Really, we hope you feel better after the couple of hours sleep that you might get.
ArPharazonV: indeed :-)
VardaValar1: I am happy to report that my family is back online (obviously)
ArPharazonV: also, sorry for missing last week's meeting without notice, our university trip from Belgium came back late, traffic jams all over the place
ArPharazonV: I was supposed to be home around 1 hour before the meeting began, actually was home after the meeting had already ended :-)
VardaValar1: Our DSL modem gave out, my computer's motherboard capacitors swelled up and it generally died, and my keyboard lost the ability to do k and l. Now using ancient backup from Elwing-(V). Thanks Elwing!!
VardaValar1: It must have been a short one then! Seen them run 7 hours. : )
ArPharazonV: about 2-3 hours?
VardaValar1: How was the trip?
ArPharazonV: interesting, also very tiring
ArPharazonV: had to do a *lot* of walking
ArPharazonV: but saw some nice places and landscapes
VardaValar1: Excellent. Make all the good memories you can! : )
ArPharazonV: I will
ArPharazonV: next trip is in a few weeks
ArPharazonV: beginning of october
windofhyperia has left the room.
VardaValar1: That should give you recuperating time. : )
ArPharazonV: there are 3 groups, divided over 10 days, won't know what group I'm in until next Friday
VardaValar1: The best group, since you'll be in it.
ArPharazonV: so I'll let you know then if I can't make a meeting :-)
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: Thanks. That is kind.

VardaValar1: On to Web stuff before you have to go.
VardaValar1: Arveleg made a nifty experiment for you guys to try out
VardaValar1: Still working on it
VardaValar1: It's a search engine for everything on the Valar pages
Fladrifv: oh nice
VardaValar1: He still needs to add in Annals of Arda I think, but otherwise had most of what he planned
VardaValar1: Take a look on the Tolkien pages
VardaValar1: (Two spots left of Forum, Phar ; )
VardaValar1: Search is for the articles, currently. His is Search everything under Fun.
VardaValar1: It should work from both framed and unframed
ArPharazonV: I see it :-)
ArPharazonV: under Fun, you say?
arwenv1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: He's Andrew G. as you might have guessed.
VardaValar1: Aye
VardaValar1: Hiya Arwen! You changed your dress!
ArPharazonV: ah, I didn't see it, but it just entered the page
VardaValar1: Arwen, maybe you can help us test out the new Search Everything search engine
VardaValar1: Arveleg is experimenting with it. It's under Tolkien/Fun
VardaValar1: It's on both the framed and unframed version.
arwenv1: cool :-)
VardaValar1: I got 32 results on Ar-Pharazon : )
VardaValar1: How is it coming for you folks?
ArPharazonV: 15 for Umbar
ArPharazonV: 6wyophcmkeq?
ArPharazonV: what's that mean?
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: sorry?
VardaValar1: Where do you see that?
ArPharazonV: at the top of the search results page
ArPharazonV: 6wyophcmkeq or web search
VardaValar1: I see Valar Guild or Web Search
ArPharazonV: I don't
VardaValar1: Each has a radio button by it
VardaValar1: Which browser?
ArPharazonV: *nod* I've got 6wyophcmkeq instead of Valar Guild
ArPharazonV: Firefox
VardaValar1: So that is an alternate spelling of Valar Guild. my my
VardaValar1: Frame or unframed site?
ArPharazonV: unframed
ArPharazonV: but it's the same for framed
VardaValar1: ah, interesting. Did it to me too on unframed.
VardaValar1: But it said Valar Guild when I did it first in Framed.
VardaValar1: May be cached?
VardaValar1: Hmm, now it's doing it under framed
VardaValar1: Arveleg didn't know I was putting it in. He may be working on it
VardaValar1: I was going to surprise him. : )
VardaValar1: But it does seem to be searching in a lot of areas: articles, stories, etc?
VardaValar1: It seems to be missing actual poetry
VardaValar1: ok, so we spotted a few bugs to swat. Thanks!
Fladrifv: found my tale as first hit Ö=
VardaValar1: Woot : )
Fladrifv: also here the site is called 6wyophcmkeq
Fladrifv: wonder which language that is
VardaValar1: All these alternate spellings. : )
Fladrifv: atleast a 36 letter alphabet
VardaValar1: It started out saying Valar Guild for me, then changed. Did anyone else see it as Valar Guild at all?
VardaValar1: Still fun to mess with, and it is just experimental at this stage.
VardaValar1: It should also show up on that toolbar for the guild that he offered everyone.
VardaValar1: Any further web news?
ArPharazonV: never saw it as Valar Guild, I think, unless with the first result, but didn't notice it there
VardaValar1: ok, thanks.
Fladrifv: same for me
VardaValar1: It was fine for me in frames until I switched to unframed, then it went silly.
VardaValar1: I cut it off, restarted, came from frames, and it's still doing it. Ok, enough of that for now. : )

VardaValar1: Gaming News:
VardaValar1: Those of you not currently playing with the search engine, ; )
ArPharazonV: I'm here, though shutting everything down :-)
VardaValar1: what non-WoW and non-LotRO did you play this week?
ArPharazonV: Jazz Jackrabbit 2!
VardaValar1: Was it fun?
ArPharazonV: quite old game, hadn't been able to run it on my pc for years, but for some reason it worked this time
VardaValar1: yay!
ArPharazonV: yeah, though starting to get hard, almost done with the third chapter :-)
VardaValar1: Just working Phar so much : )
VardaValar1: Gelmir, before he left for dinner, said he hasn't been playing Eve lately but still has his position open for when he returns
VardaValar1: as CEO in his corp.
VardaValar1: I started back into the StarCraft missions while the internet was down. : )
Fladrifv: I played some gtr2 if that counts :-)
VardaValar1: It does, but translate please?
ArPharazonV: ok, I'll be leaving now, will save, but it's not enough to send, really, you came in right after me :-)
ArPharazonV: save whatever comes next, I will enjoy reading it!
VardaValar1: Thanks. It may help in case of crashing!
ArPharazonV: perhaps
VardaValar1: I'll try to put it up more timely just for you : )
Fladrifv: http://gtr-game.10tacle.com/
Fladrifv: and be better phar
Fladrifv: eh get?
VardaValar1: Rest easy!
ArPharazonV: I'll try!
ArPharazonV: saved
VardaValar1: Thanks, Phar.
VardaValar1: and thanks, Flad, for the link.
Fladrifv: sorry its a german link should have some english aswell
Fladrifv: its a race game more realistic than any one else
VardaValar1: We also had a LAN party with Diablo 2, the Expansion
VardaValar1: If it has pictures, we're ok : )
VardaValar1: And some of us like Eonwe need to practice their German!
VardaValar1: That could be fun
Fladrifv: idea for the upcomming sc2 to have a sc1 gaming event?
VardaValar1: Don't forget to send your comments to Eonwe for the Game Reviews.
VardaValar1: ahh! That could be a blast. : )
VardaValar1: SC and then BW?
VardaValar1: We could pull out our old SC maps : )
VardaValar1: We had a couple of Tourney maps
VardaValar1: I liked Battle of Osgiliath.
ArPharazonV: sounds interesting, but depends on the time and date ;-)
ArPharazonV: now, I shall be off
Fladrifv: I actually never gamed against many of us
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1: How about all week?
Fladrifv: Namarie phar
VardaValar1: The tourney was together, timed.
VardaValar1: Groups competed for completing the map and speed.
VardaValar1: Required good teamwork
VardaValar1: You could also swap around into different teams. : )
ArPharazonV has left the room.
Fladrifv: sounds good
VardaValar1: But for just fun, we can play all kinds of maps.
Fladrifv: even $$$ ones? *grin*
VardaValar1: We had special game name and password
Shaggyjoe: I have to pack up my PC and head out.
VardaValar1: Aye!
VardaValar1: Thanks for dropping by, Gelmir!
Shaggyjoe: What are ya'll playing?
VardaValar1: What do we not play? : )
Shaggyjoe: touche.
VardaValar1: We were talking about doing old SC just before SC2 comes out.
VardaValar1: Maybe all during the week ahead of it.
Shaggyjoe: I have two coppies of SC and no CD keys ><
VardaValar1: We could also do some during the upcoming 10th Anniversary
VardaValar1: Cheap to pick up new ones, last I saw, if we want to. But ouch!
Shaggyjoe: I'm seriously interested in SC2 however :-)
VardaValar1: Great!
Shaggyjoe: Yeah shouldnt cost me more than 10 or $15
VardaValar1: We use East in Battlenet, Valar channel
Fladrifv: my sc is still in the netherlands :S
VardaValar1: If lag is too bad for Europe, we can go there and do Valar channel : )
Fladrifv: but Ill check what a new bundle costs
VardaValar1: old game name and current passwording for Valar-only gaming.
VardaValar1: Can't get your stuff from there? ugh
VardaValar1: I'm very hooked on Lord of the Rings Online
VardaValar1: Gelmir, don't let us get you in trouble keeping you here!
Shaggyjoe: Alright my friends I must depart, friends mother is kicking us all out.
Shaggyjoe: Yeah. talk to yall later!
VardaValar1: but we'd be happy to see you again.
VardaValar1: Namarie!
Shaggyjoe: :-*
Shaggyjoe: Namarie!
VardaValar1: hehe
Shaggyjoe has left the room.
AriehnV: Namarie Gelmier
Srekal86 has left the room.
VardaValar1: Arien, would you like to do a WoW Argent Dawn report before you fall asleep?
VardaValar1: Too late? : )
VardaValar1: For Lothar, our family and some friends have been playing like crazy all week.
AriehnV: Ok got a small reportr my fault]
VardaValar1: Eonwe has an idea for a possible Tourney gaming for WoW.
VardaValar1: Ok, go ahead, Arien
AriehnV: ok Orophin and Urwendi had an interesting visit to Jaguero Island
AriehnV: Urwendi was working for a tauren lass , Princess pOOBAH who was being held captive there
AriehnV: Together the worthy pair gained the key from King Mukla .. not without losing their own lives along with the beast unfortunatley but Urwendi managed to gain the key
AriehnV: and freed the Tauren princess
VardaValar1: /cheer
AriehnV: After that there remained a minor task in Mistvale Valley to gain a gorillas heart and heal a sick man in booty bay
AriehnV: Then it was time for her to move on to Un Goro Crater
AriehnV: thus endeth my report
VardaValar1: Thanks, Arien.
VardaValar1: Much better reporting than I'm doing, fun to read. : )
VardaValar1: Elwing is not currently with us for the Uldaman report, but I fear most of the ones who should have joined her there were in Lothar.
VardaValar1: We've been working with Cold Rage Knights in Lothar some, or at least the boys have.
VardaValar1: But Valar seem to stick together no matter what group they are working inside of. [Note: mostly Valar gaming, very little Cold Rage]
VardaValar1: On to LotRO
VardaValar1: We don't currently have a particular day.
VardaValar1: We tried to do Monday, but that didn't work out. We all tend to play about the same every day. : )
VardaValar1: This week we had Varda, Borin, Finduilas, Gorlim, Irmo, Miriel, Angrod, Melkor, Arathorn, Muzgash, Ancalagon,
VardaValar1: Orome, Rumil, Beleg, Amaranth, Eonwe, and Arien. : )
VardaValar1: Some of us tried out a new quest put in for Talk Like a Pirate Day.
VardaValar1: We looked for the captain of a wrecked ship, following a trail of lost cargo (which we collected)
VardaValar1: found the captain at the shipwreck where he and his men were making repairs.
VardaValar1: Men, referring to race, but including both genders.
VardaValar1: He had us collect more cargo and turn it in to the quartermaster
VardaValar1: In reward, we got an eyepatch and tri-cornered hat. : )
VardaValar1: Fainan looks quite spiffy with her eyepatch. : )
VardaValar1: We also had many other quests low and high level going, all week.
VardaValar1: Report ends. : )
VardaValar1: Arien and Arathorn and myself, currently in the room, were there.
VardaValar1: Arwen, are you still awake? : )
VardaValar1: There is a request in WoW for your gem-cutting services should you decide to take that up again. Contact the Dark Lord Sauron at your convenience. : )
VardaValar1: Fangorn is currently online there.
VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: First, who is present?
VardaValar1: Pardon, I missed a tell from Fladrif for gaming.
Fladrifv: I picked up playing magic again
VardaValar1: Magic the Gathering?
Fladrifv: this time for free by use of apprentice
Fladrifv: aye
Fladrifv: Magic the Gathering
VardaValar1: Isn't that a card game?
Fladrifv: by this you can test any deck online against eachother
VardaValar1: o cool!
VardaValar1: How do you get cards for online?
Fladrifv: http://www.magic-league.com/download/apprentice.php
Fladrifv: its all included
Fladrifv: just without the images
VardaValar1: Thanks. I wonder if you and Sauron might get together on that sometime. : )
Fladrifv: would be nice :-)
VardaValar1: It's not restricted to particular continents is it?
Fladrifv: actually its on without server base
Fladrifv: so one host other joins the person direct
VardaValar1: That should work then!
Fladrifv: dont know about groupe play
VardaValar1: Just two would work?
Fladrifv: yes
VardaValar1: So you can play one person against another?
Fladrifv: that works indeed
VardaValar1: But not sure about more than that?
Fladrifv: indeed
VardaValar1: I'll go ask Sauron.
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
VardaValar1: He was concerned that it would cost money
VardaValar1: Aiya Glorfindel
Glorfindel VG: hey!
VardaValar1: The initial set of Magic the Gathering cards online is free, right? But then it is pay isn't it?
VardaValar1: Glorfindel, seems to be down to you, Fladrif, and me. : )
VardaValar1: Eonwe is having his truck repaired, but might make it in late.
Fladrifv: its for free :-)
AriehnV: err stuck in wc ;
VardaValar1: After the first deck?
AriehnV: *blush*
Fladrifv: all cards :-)
Fladrifv: its not the official one that is why images lack
VardaValar1: okies, Arien : )
Fladrifv: stuck?
Fladrifv: can always use this http://www.2eezee.com/playground/ontstopper/ontstopper.jpg Arien
Glorfindel VG: brb a moment
VardaValar1: brb too : )
VardaValar1: back
VardaValar1: Fladrif, me, anyone else present?
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Sept 22 was Bilbo and Frodo's birthday. : )
VardaValar1: Anyone remember Frodo's parents?
VardaValar1: It's 1am for Fladrif. He needs to leave, has to be up at 7am.
VardaValar1: I know you folks know this one, so the room must be all afk.
Fladrifv: dont over estimate us wise Varda
VardaValar1: heh
VardaValar1: Drogo Baggins and Primula Brandybuck.
VardaValar1: There was a boating accident, leaving Frodo without parents. Bilbo adopted him.
VardaValar1: Thus we have the wild streak from the Brandybucks in Frodo as well as having Bilbo as an uncle and the one who raised him.
VardaValar1: Time spent in the Brandybuck Warren and with his cousins, Meriadoc and Pippin, added to it.: )
VardaValar1: Bilbo's birthday party was such a big deal that it kicked off the beginning of the Lord of the Rings series.
VardaValar1: The One Ring even added to the festivities when Bilbo put it on.
VardaValar1: Gandalf tried to cover for him by adding a bang and fireworks, left out of the movie.
VardaValar1: Much food and fireworks - sounds like a perfect party. : )

After-meeting:
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
arwenv1: :-)
Eonwe Valar: Guten Tag
VardaValar1: Eonwe!
Fladrifv: auch Guten tag
VardaValar1: Hiya!
Eonwe Valar: Was fehlte ich?
Fladrifv: cant we switch to swedish instead ? :P
VardaValar1: You missed a discussion on Bilbo's birthday, Sept 22, which I was telling on my lonesome. : )
Eonwe Valar: And heya to those without a language close enough to modern german to understand :}
VardaValar1: hehe
Eonwe Valar: I don't know Swedish Fladrif, sorry :}
Eonwe Valar: Your choices are English, German ,or Spanish :}
VardaValar1: Fladrif is working with some art, using Bryce. I think Arwen uses it too?
arwenv1: hola, senor?
Fladrifv: det är jette daligt
VardaValar1: hehe - Spanish, Swedish, sounds close enough!
arwenv1: I have, before, used bryce, yes.
Fladrifv: in english maybe :-)
Fladrifv: Im not that skilled in anything else I fear
arwenv1: I wouldnt call myself an expert :-)
Fladrifv: trying blender aswell
arwenv1: I mostly use photoshop for my image fun
Fladrifv: but that is so....2 dimentional
arwenv1: so?
VardaValar1: Bryce is:
VardaValar1: http://www.daz3d.com/i.x/software/bryce/-/
VardaValar1: Where is Blender?
Fladrifv: http://www.blender.org/
VardaValar1: That's too easy. ;-) Thanks.
Fladrifv: there are several free backend renderes for that one
arwenv1: I've been starting to experiment with Zbrush.
Fladrifv: is that a free program_
arwenv1: No
arwenv1: I need, to go, reading and revising for a test.
Fladrifv: good luck!
arwenv1: thanks :-)
arwenv1 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Monday test eh? Those are always a pain.
VardaValar1: Truck running now?
Eonwe Valar: Nope, gotta get up early tomorrow to take it back to the guys who worked on it in the first place.
Eonwe Valar: I took it to another branch of the same auto guys, they told me I had to take it to where it was worked on, long story short.
Eonwe Valar: Result is that I'm not taking back to the first place for work again.
