Eonwe Valar: Seems I was the only one on until late on Friday, so I
spent the time collecting my primals to make Thunder, the first step
towards THE mace for Ret Paladins.
Eonwe Valar: I also officially crossed over the halfway mark for gold
to afford my epic flying mount. 3000 more to go :}
AriehnV: where do you get motes of mana btw? i think i might need some
for blacksmithing in some future time
Eonwe Valar: On Wednesday, Fangorn, Eowyn, Bilbo, and I were playing on
Lothar instead of Uldaman, and
did some of the tougher quests l;ike the Nessingwary bosses and Forge
Camp:Annihilated, so there is nothing to report from Uldaman this week.
ArPharazonV: Netherstorm is the best zone for that, I prefer the
elementals at the Kirin'var village but those might be overfarmed
ArPharazonV: as in crowded :-)
Eonwe Valar: Cyclones in Netherstorm dropped motes of Mana for me.
Eonwe Valar: But let's not get side-tracked.
Eonwe Valar: Arien, do you have a report for Argent Dawn?
AriehnV: yes there is a little report#
AriehnV: even though it is not from the official gaming day since both
vMenel and myself got envelopped in other undertakings
AriehnV: but there was a Valar Grouping on Mondahy
AriehnV: Menelvagors Anarore, Valandils Orophin, Ar Pharazons Calaron
and my Finduilasse plus a High Guard Mage went to the underbog
AriehnV: it was good fun and we had no bigger troubles even though the
fights with Hungarfen and the Black Stalker were a real challenge
AriehnV: but we got them both :-)
AriehnV: Menel got his quest done and i got a nice mace out of it
including some Motes of Life
AriehnV: so it was a real succes
AriehnV: Thus endeth my report

Eonwe Valar: Short version: We have 18 people on Monday night, so there
was alot of grouping going on.
Eonwe Valar: have = had
Eonwe Valar: June 13th is the date for the Evendim expansion, with new
quests, musical notations, and more.

Eonwe Valar: So looks like I'll be stuck downloading that for several
night afterward :}

Eonwe Valar: Anyone play anything besides WoW and LotRO?
ArPharazonV: yah
Eonwe Valar: Downloading on dial-up is :}
ArPharazonV: I did some more Warcraft 3 on battle.net, mostly
custom maps.... getting back into some map-types I used to play years
ago when I wasn't WoW-ing yet
Eonwe Valar: Haven't figured out how my friend who gets me all the big
WoW patches can snag the LotRO updates for me :}
GwaihirValar: Just popping in to say hi... I'm actually heading to my
parents place for dinner(since dad works next sunday we're doing
father's day dinner today)
ArPharazonV: the American server seems to disconnect me from time to
time, though, so I'll be playing mostly on Europe from now on
GwaihirValar: and I've been playing Starcraft and WC3 a lot lately ;-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya Gwaihir :-) I thought you left half an hour ago!
GwaihirValar: Err... I was in the shower half an hour ago ;-)
ArPharazonV: ah
ArPharazonV: of course, if anyone wants to play with me on the American
server, let me know and I'll get on there
AriehnV: warcraft three is really nice since it gives all the
background info for wow, or at least some of it
ArPharazonV: but I can't guarantee I won't disconnect anywhere in the
game :-)
Eonwe Valar: I've had some peopel respond to the GPMU that they play
WoW if memory serves.
Eonwe Valar: er, not WoW, WC3.
GwaihirValar: I've been going through starcraft to remind myself of the
story there... since sc2 is in production officially

ArPharazonV: I meant at a certain time, Eonwe, like if we get AIM
contact and decide to play 5 minutes after or so

Eonwe Valar: We were discussing the RP, sort of. Ancalagon's not sure
he'd fit in it. Asking what makes him feel that way.
VardaValar1: It's the big wings. They get stuck in the doorway.
Eonwe Valar: Hehe.
ArPharazonV: Elwing played an eagle... why can't Ancalagon play a
dragon then!
Eonwe Valar: Because we'd have to slay the dragon? :}
ArPharazonV: nah, it'll be nice dragon
ArPharazonV: raised by humans?
Eonwe Valar: The primary thing we're going for in the RP, Ancalagon, is
realism within Tolkien's world. That means no flying super-Elves, no
humans slaying Balrogs.
VardaValar1: Thought you said it would be nice?
ArPharazonV: an egg left behind by Smaug discovered in Erebor and kept
safe from the populace, and a young dragon raised to benefit the Free
Peoples!
Eonwe Valar: It doesn't have to be perfect. The story's not perfect :}
VardaValar1: The story's definitely not quite on track : )
Eonwe Valar: And it's not meant to stifle creativity.
VardaValar1: After gaming in LotRO, you ought to feel more at home than
some of the others traveling around, more familiar.
Eonwe Valar: I thought the underground spiders were interesting and
within the bounds of Tolkien.
VardaValar1: Aye, cool touch
ArPharazonV: never played LotRO, so you should feel more at home than
me :-)
VardaValar1: LotRO doesn't have Mirkwood yet, but we're heading into
the Angmar area
VardaValar1: You could play some version of Ancbeard?
Eonwe Valar: That's why I suggested reading the story and the
accompanying disucssion thread, because it'll give you a pretty good
idea of how we're doing things, at least enough not to get too far off
from Tolkien.

VardaValar1: She dragged me off very abruptly earlier to see a movie,
and we just got back. Pirates 3
Eonwe Valar: I went to see that a couple of weeks ago with friends. I
thought it was a good movie.
Eonwe Valar: But anyway, Ancalagon, participation in the RP is strictly
voluntary :}
Sarujil: thats an idea: i could be a corsair from umbar :-)

Eonwe Valar: So we won't make you join in :}
VardaValar1: Some just join in for bit parts for fun, like Elwing's
bird, or Elatan's magic user.
VardaValar1: come in for a short bit, then out. Tolkien had characters
like that too.
ArPharazonV: you could play a whole host of bad guys, making a new one
when we kill of the old ;-)
VardaValar1: Try a few on for size
ArPharazonV: *off
VardaValar1: Really, why not run some version of Ancbeard?
VardaValar1: or one of the others. You have a lot of LotRO characters
VardaValar1: We could use someone to make sense out of the weirdness
Arathorn's dwarf left us with too
VardaValar1: That would take some real thinking

VardaValar1: Mysterious goings-on with his dwarves
VardaValar1: Anc could be one of that group or checking up on them
ArPharazonV: whatever happened to Arathorn? is he still around?
VardaValar1: Arathorn is around in WoW
VardaValar1: but not in good condition
Eonwe Valar: I think he just decided to drop the RP.
VardaValar1: Aye, he stopped doing the rp
VardaValar1: Arathorn had surgery on his hand, still hurts
ArPharazonV: I see
VardaValar1: They didn't fix the problems and he may need more surgery
ArPharazonV: that's not good...
VardaValar1: But he still plays WoW a la Ulmo : )
VardaValar1: he can't "talk" as much or as well, but gets off a batch
of words in a short time
VardaValar1: Anc, you don't have to get in the rp, but if you would
like to, you'd be welcome.
VardaValar1: Maybe you'd rather knock out some poems or short stories
or articles?
Eonwe Valar: Arien, are you still with us in the RP? Your Frali is
supposed to come all the way to Rivendell, after all :}
VardaValar1: Frali could be outside with Fainan grazing the horses.

VardaValar1: Dwarves aren't too keen on horses. Frali could be worried
about that too, and I would offer to take you.
Eonwe Valar: Or sharing a horse.

VardaValar1: Fainan used to haul Arathorn's character too
Eonwe Valar: A pony might not be able to keep up with a horse running,..
AriehnV: oki dok , a pony will be made ready for him but a) he wont be
too keen on riding
AriehnV: and b) kyour argument eonwe
AriehnV: so Fainan can offer to take him
AriehnV: as Frali has already a soft spot for her, he will graciously
accept ;-)

some point :}

VardaValar1: Get him a horse, and not bug Thranduil for one
Eonwe Valar: I'm sure the innkeeper of the inn we stayed at in Dale
could get us a good horse for a good price, considering how well he was
paid :}
Eonwe Valar: Fainan seems to be the the one amongst us with the best
knowledge of horses. She could probably pick the horse.
Eonwe Valar: Darn it, we have a reason to go to Dale :}
VardaValar1: sorry, I'd just ask the horses which one of them wants to
go and carry our Frali friend. ;-)

with horses raised in Rivendell?

Eonwe Valar: Perhaps. Perhaps getting a horse from the raft Elves, if
necessary would make more sense than a trip to Dale.
Eonwe Valar: After a trip across the plains between Dale and Mirkwood,
Auros would be able to see how much the doubling up is slowing him down.
Eonwe Valar: He might be a bit too eager to get gone to think about
that right now.
VardaValar1: Aye, or not able to do much about it, since Dwarves tend
to just have ponies.
Eonwe Valar: And the building impatience at everyone being late isn't
helping :}
VardaValar1: hehe
ArPharazonV: hmm.. thunderstorm breaking loose here, I'll save in case

Eonwe Valar: The question then comes, why didn't he notice being slowed
down when he was coming the other direction?
Eonwe Valar: The group makeup essentially hasn't changed./
Eonwe Valar: 4 Elves and a Dwarf.
ArPharazonV: maybe we were a bit preoccupied to think about such
things? all sorts of creatures giving chase
Eonwe Valar: Maybe he wasn't as concerned when he was on his way to
Erebor as he is heading back.
VardaValar1: He did notice
VardaValar1: Adding to his realization that something needs done
Eonwe Valar: He did try to get the escort to give up a couple of
horses, then Fainan's Silvan pride kicked in :}
VardaValar1: oops : )

probably call it Rivendell instead.

stories... it occurs to me that there was hardly any mention of
backpacks in Lotr except for the bit in Mordor?
VardaValar1: They mostly put things on Bill, then carried their few
items from Bill into Moria.

Gimli and Legolas after the War of the Ring.

ArPharazonV: The orcs thought it was magical, and when the players had
slain their way to the orc shaman’s cave they saw him hovering over the
rock and thought it must do something.
ArPharazonV: They carried this 8lb rock around with them for 4 gaming
sessions (and asked many things about it) until finally someone finally
cast detect magic on it.
ArPharazonV: Needless to say, I got dice thrown at me. It was so worth
it
