Tolkien Trivia Contest results. Some answers and then the rest of the answers were posted to the Forum.
After-meeting:
One group downloaded and played Well of Souls in
World Aenienell together (1st name is primary, second is game name):
(Orodreth/Orodreth, Pharazon/Calion, Luthien/Tindomerel,
FinduilasTV/Finduilas, Varda/Fainan). For group's chat, on the main
chat bar we typed /im 4892 as a random number.
Another group went to WoW Stratholme (including Eonwe/Auros, Merry/Merryv, Bilbo/Valtocolindo).

Menelvagor Valar: for the entire lesson (which was 20 minutes in total,
before the regular teacher took over again), I spoke entirely in
English, and the class was completely silent.
Menelvagor Valar: no I have not, Pharzie.
Menelvagor Valar: I spent just about 4 hours or so preparing the lesson.
Star of Phaet: My Spanish teacher used to do that
Star of Phaet: speak the whole lesson in Spanish
Menelvagor Valar: even when I knew just about exactly what had to be done in advance.
Star of Phaet: really made us pay attention :-)
Menelvagor Valar: well, it keeps you perked.

Menelvagor Valar: but these students have a good set of brains, they are in the top level of dutch education (Gymnasium)
Menelvagor Valar: but apart from some errors I made (not grammatically, just in setup), it went extraordinarily well.
Menelvagor Valar: and the day after, I had half a lesson for first-graders (that's 12-13 year olds for you Americans)
Menelvagor Valar: (and Canadians probably :-))
VardaValar1: About 6 years old
Menelvagor Valar: And that lesson me and my intern buddy were given full authority on how to set up our lesson.
Menelvagor Valar: well, we start over once they reach High School :-P
Menelvagor Valar: 1st to 8th in elementary.
Menelvagor Valar: 1st to 4th, 5th or 6th in High school, depending on the level of education.
Menelvagor Valar: anyway, we decided we'd do something with culture, so
my buddy told something about the British Culture and a day he spent in
London.
Menelvagor Valar: I told them a bit about youth culture, let them work
in groups and see if they could figure out how one group sets itself
apart from another.
Menelvagor Valar: so they talked about Gothics, Rappers, Skaters, Gabbers (or better known as Skinheads)
Menelvagor Valar: and although it is unlikely all of it will still be
there, I am confident they will at least have learned something from it
:-)

VardaValar1: We had to pull it off the network while we had two other Valar living with us a while, one a month and one a week.

ArPharazonV: This week I've partied with any Valarguild members, didn't see any online for very long
ArPharazonV: *not partied
ArPharazonV: our raidalliance got Huhuran to 12%, and are closing in on the kill... no progress outside that
ArPharazonV: I myself have finished growing my reputation with the Cenarion Circle
ArPharazonV: am now exalted, and have my reward: what can be seen as
the ultimate soloing weapon in the game for a feral druid as myself
ArPharazonV: so while I am happy with this development, it should hold
little interest for the rest of the Valarguild.... there's just not
much to tell this week
ArPharazonV: we have discovered the ingredients for our Naxxramas-sets, the new classsets in the upcoming patch
ArPharazonV: and have started collecting those ingredients already
ArPharazonV: so some goals got completed, some new goals were started, and we're still working on others
ArPharazonV: hoping to make our next new boss-kill in 2 days, and where we go from there.... only time can tell

denominators equal in order to add them, and so not all fractions will
be the same.

Eonwe Valar: For instance, the Palantir question had 7 partial answers,
whereas the wind question I gave two separate questions which I counted
each as half.

Eonwe Valar: This week's Guild questing included Arathi Highlands and the Hinterlands.
Menelvagor Valar: (I'm off to bed, plenty of schoolwork to be done tomorrow.)
Menelvagor Valar: (I'll leave the comp on for downloading purposes, and I can fit the transcript in nicely :-D)
Eonwe Valar: First it was Fundin and Eonwë in Arathi. We worked on
the Stromgarde quests, defeating Cowl, Otto, Falconcrest, and gathering
the badges. Once we were done there, we went to Boulderfist Hall to get
the wand back for Skuerto.
Eonwe Valar: At that point, Fundin had to go, but I was joined by
Sauron. Then We were further joined by Merry and Varda. Our first task
was to get the Azure Agate.
Eonwe Valar: Once doing that, we gained entry into the tower and recovered the items we needed for Trelane's Defense.
Eonwe Valar: Sauron then had to go, so it was down to Varda, Merry, and myself.
Eonwe Valar: We then switched over to our higher characters and went to
the Hinterlands to grab Merry's Mallet and to save Sharpbeak.
Eonwe Valar: Unfortunately, Eonwë had to go after the mallet was
recovered, but Varda has reported that the recoverery of Sharpbeak went
excellently.
Eonwe Valar: *recovery even
VardaValar1: We were awesome. ;-)
VardaValar1: Watching him and his parents fly into the sky over the mountains was the best reward. : )
Eonwe Valar: Aye, that was a great ending to the quest :}
Eonwe Valar: One more thing from WoW if I may.
VardaValar1: Please go ahead.
Eonwe Valar: With the release of Patch 1.11 will be an event called the Scourge Invasion.
Eonwe Valar: There will be scourge in places that don't normally see Undead.
Eonwe Valar: These places will be at several levels, not just the high level areas.
Eonwe Valar: I would love it if we could get groups at these several levels involved as a Guild during this world event.
Eonwe Valar: As a Paladin, I most certainly will be beating back these guys :}
Eonwe Valar: If we could get everyone going at it, it'd be great,
especially if we could get progress reports or some tidbit to put on
the Gaming News and the Forum.
Eonwe Valar: As I said, there will be many areas of different levels
that will be invaded by the Scourge, not just the high- level areas ,
so everyone can get in on this.
VardaValar1: So we report where we see them on the Forum or what?

Eonwe Valar: Organize hunting parties and go out and slay them and tell us how you did is more what I'm hoping for :}
Eonwe Valar: This is even a chance for those WoW gamers were are particularly creative or interested in RP.

Eonwe Valar: According to the WoW page, Azshara, Blasted Lands, Burning
Steppes, Eastern Plaguelands, Tanaris, and Winterspring are all targets
for the invasion.
Eonwe Valar: Also, some instances are supposed to have Scoureg agents that wouldn't normally be there, including:
Eonwe Valar: Stratholme, Scholomance, Dire Maul, the Scarlet Monastery, Shadowfang Keep and Razorfen Downs.
VardaValar1: Covers lots of territory. We should all spot some. : )

;-) Tanaris seems to be the lowest-level area in that list :-)

Eonwe Valar: Shadowfang Keep and Razorfen Downs aren't too high.
Eonwe Valar: Well, Tanaris is about a mid-level area.

ArPharazonV: Tanaris is lvl 30-40, with every other zone being higher than 40, I think
ArPharazonV: and aye, Shadowfang and Razorfen are exceptions...
ArPharazonV: but those were undead-infested instances to begin with, so that makes sense
Eonwe Valar: A good chunk of our group is at least in the 30s area.
ArPharazonV: Aerianell downloaded
Eonwe Valar: So a good chunk will be able to join in.
Eonwe Valar: But aye, I thought I recalled some other slightly lower
areas being in the mix. Seems Tanaris is the lowest. Badlands isn't
really that high either though.
