The June 2002 Sweep is done. This is the sweep of
inactive members from our Member pages. Anyone removed has the fun of
going
back through the rejoining process to re-enter. This means that in
June, we will have only
active members listed on the Members page. We reserve the right to
change passwords at that time, pending discussion. Names in red were removed in June.
We are having
more than usual difficulty telling who is active due to bot problems,
so
your email or meeting attendance has become very important.
Member of Honor definition: This means
the person is a member as long as his/her parent is a member, has had
Tolkien at least read to her,
and behaves well in the channel. (Members of Honor tend to have the
best behavior
in the guild. :) They are automatically in if the parent is in.
Methods for contacting Varda:
1. Email Varda at varda(AT)sbcglobal.net (Changed to
varda(dot)elentari(AT)gmail(dot)com. See Contact page or
Membership page for current emals.)
2. Show up to a meeting and make sure your name is
on the attendance
roll on the News. Meetings are Sunday 5pm ESDT, East realm, bnet
channel Clan ValarGuild.
3. Post to the Discussion Board
using your guild name, as Ori has. (Still up, but the Forum actually used has
changed a few times. Find the latest from the home page.
4. Write an article,
story, poem, or joke and send it in. Having it published puts your name
in
the News page.
5. The bots may or may not register your presence in
the channels. Valar is our main playing channel.
6. With luck, seeing Varda in the channel might get
you noted down on a piece of paper.
7. Answer the sweep mail if one is sent to you,
asking
if you are an active member. If you are listed Active already, one will
not
be sent. If my email does not get through to you, it will be listed on
this
Activity page as undeliverable and you may be listed as inactive if you
do not respond on your own.
We are assuming
you are not active unless you make some sort of contact.

Waiting for WC3/ - Activity check email sent May 7, 2002 <avq72(AT)earthlink.net> Answered as Turgon from this email, not Tuor, due to mix-up: The player at avq72(AT)earthlink.net used to be a Feanor-V, but lost his previous name due to absence and rejoined Aug 30, 2000. Another Feanor was Maedhros returning from a long absence after being kicked out for channel misbehavior with whom avq72 apparently was confused due to an email listing mix-up, so avq72 took a different name than Feanor. Tuor could not take Turgon's name which has belonged to ex-Pallando since Oct 10, 1999. However, avq72 did not want to keep the names Tuor or Turgon neither of which he has actually been using and changed names during the June 1, 2002 sweep free-up, became Beorn. (We also once had a Tuor whose name changed to the current Earendil Aug 17, 2000, gelondil(AT)yahoo.com.) avq72(AT)earthlink.net June 13, 2002: changed to Beorn name. |
