Here is the annual State of Valar Gaming for 2008.
-------------------------------------------------------
Before the GPMU (Games Page Mass Update), 116 full members and members
of honor were listed on the Games Page. Out of those, 47 had gaming
info listed.
Of those 47, we had the following gaming numbers:
Total number of games members admitted to playing: 30
World of Warcraft: 15
Lord of the Rings Online: 33
These were the largest numbers. Since all the others had less than 5
who admitted to playing, they will be grouped by number of players.

Supreme COmmander, Online Chess, Dungeons and Dragons Online,
Battlefield 2142, Total Annihilation, Dungeon Siege, Dungeon Siege 2,
Empire Earth, Age of Empires, Morrowind
The GPMU letter was sent to 100 members, excluding myself. We have 117
full members and members of honor. Only those without an e-mail listed
(either none, or listed as confidential) were not e-mailed by me. Of
those 100 e-mailed, 8 were undeliverable, and 20 responded.
After the completion of the GPMU, we have the following numbers:
In addition to those responding, I sifted through the in-game guild
rosters for our official guild branches on Lord of the Rings Online
(Landroval) and World of Warcraft (Lothar and Uldaman). For anyone who
had not answered the GPMU, I gave the benefit of the doubt to anyone
who had logged in on one of their characters within 60 days that
theywere still playing that game. Most within this time frame had
logged in much more recently than that. This is not an adequate
substitute for answering the GPMU, especially since not everyone labels
their characters with their guild name using the player note option, so
members in games where I can check the guild roster should not rely on
this to tell me you play.
Total number of games members admitted to playing: 25
For World of Warcraft and Lord of the Rings Online, the first number is
the number from responses to the GPMU, and the number in parentheses is
the total after observations of the guild roster as listed above.
World of Warcraft: 11 (12)
Lord of the Rings Online: 11 (25)
All other games have less than 3 players admitting to playing.
