Before-meeting
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Phar :-)
VardaValar1: *zips on past*
LizMarr has entered the room.
LizMarr: Aiya. I figured it out
ArPharazonV: Aiya :-)
LizMarr: You notice I figured out how to change my name too
ArPharazonV: Not in my version. Still LizMarr.
LizMarr: probably taking it off of your buddy list?
ArPharazonV: Probably.
ArPharazonV: What name should I add in the notes? Not sure what your guildname is.
LizMarr: Your name is ArPharazonV van Veen (ArPharazonV)
LizMarr: Ioreth
ArPharazonV: van Veen? Weird.
ArPharazonV: Ioreth, got it.
VardaValar1: Back - Aiya Ioreth :-)
LizMarr: ArParazonV is in the chat twice - one with the van Veen... but the other not... strange
ArPharazonV: I'm in the room twice?
VardaValar1: Ok, on my note, put you in as Ioreth and it switched immediately to that name in the chat for me.
LizMarr: not one the person list, just who is talking
VardaValar1: but still the other name on the rgith.
VardaValar1: *right
LizMarr: I got it to say Ioreth, but I guess only me can see it
VardaValar1: A rose by any other name... :-)
LizMarr: well, if you ever want to change it, click on your avitar. I changed that as well
VardaValar1: Maybe your change at the same time is why it shows Ioreth in the chat room.
LizMarr: naw, changed it a week ago, spent a couple days figuring it out
VardaValar1: Edit buddy on your own portrait?
LizMarr: your own portrait
VardaValar1: Not seeing anything to change it with there.
LizMarr: mine is a picture of Aleyne now
VardaValar1: Ahh, yes, your portrait changed
LizMarr: when I hover the mouse I get "edit", then I click on edit
ArPharazonV: Portrait?
LizMarr: avatar - up at the top of the program
VardaValar1: On the buddy list, but I don't see Edit
LizMarr has left the room.
VardaValar1: Phar has an old program for AIM, reason he can make clean transcripts
ArPharazonV: wow, my version is old ;-)
LizMarr has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Welcome back
LizMarr: I really did try to fix THAT too
AriehnV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: On Edit Buddy, my version shows Group, Mobile Number, Email, and Notes as blanks to fill in.
VardaValar1: Aiya Sunshine. :-)
AriehnV: Aiya all :-)
LizMarr: too far in, just where it is displayed. next to "what's happening"
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Now on the chat list at the right (not buddy list) it shows both names. The buddy list shows Ioreth. You just needed the re-set, apparently.
ArPharazonV: Still LizMarr to me, with Ioreth added in the "comment" section, but that's just my version then :-)
VardaValar1: The chat list shows the rest of us with the same name in and out of the parentheses on the chat list.
LizMarr: I'll post a screenie of what I see
VardaValar1: Ioreth (LizMarr) to me. ArPharazon-V (ArPharazonV)
VardaValar1: Arien V (AriehnV)
VardaValar1: VardaValar1 (VardaValar1)
VardaValar1: Menelvagor Valar (Menelvagor Valar)
VardaValar1: One is probably our own setting, the first
ArPharazonV: I've only got the second ones showing.
VardaValar1: Fun messing with programs. : )
VardaValar1: ok, good to know.

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: "A star shines on the hour of our meeting" - Frodo.
VardaValar1: to Gildor Inglorion.
LizMarr: Frodo said that? He's more romantic that I believed. I'd expect an elf
VardaValar1: Membership:
ArPharazonV: Well it was in Elvish.
VardaValar1: Aye, he surprised the elves by talking in Elvish. : )
VardaValar1: Frodo is more interesting in the books.
AriehnV: Frodo said it to Gildor i think
VardaValar1: Right.
ArPharazonV: "Stop gossipping, guys, he can understand us!"
VardaValar1: And that's the paraphrase from Gildor. :-)
AriehnV: *chuckles aye*
VardaValar1: Good translation!

VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: My apologies to folks in-game for not being around the last couple of days.
VardaValar1: First it was traveling, got back late. Good combo fun and work trip.
VardaValar1: Yesterday evening, however, the floor on the entire side of my office area was pullled out so we could trace wires from downstairs.
VardaValar1: Happy to say the office is now, sort of, all back in the same room, mostly, if somewhat scrambled.
VardaValar1: Any other member news? : )
ArPharazonV: We're working on the kitchen, does that count? ;-)
VardaValar1: yes :-)
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: Aiya
VardaValar1: We're working on the downstairs bathroom, rewiring it. Our empathies. : )
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis!
VardaValar1: Any membership news from your way, Lady of the Vanyar?
karakedi25: Nothing atm.
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: That might be good news, recuperating time and a chance to game. : )

VardaValar1: Web:
karakedi25: Oh, I'm gaming alright!
VardaValar1: You've seen this link before, came in from Meriadoc-V, nice for background music:
VardaValar1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZNqs0YgWkM
LizMarr: Which games, I?
karakedi25: LotRO
LizMarr: I got to go to a raid (10 man) today
VardaValar1: Just not much in our branch is all. But good gaming anyway. : )
ArPharazonV: Hmm, been a while since I listened to the LotR music. Should find the soundtracks again :-)
VardaValar1: Odd number. Erebor type?
LizMarr: wow - sorry - 12, I think, they kept rearranging the groups
ArPharazonV: it's 10 in wow ;-)
LizMarr: it was from that shared channel, basically one kin, with fillins found on it
VardaValar1: True, gets interesting talking across gaming folks.

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Any non-WoW, non-LotRO fun this last week?
LizMarr: I don't like you tube, I find things I really don't want to see
VardaValar1: StarWars The Old Republic for Bilbo an Gimli.
LizMarr: their parent control sucks
ArPharazonV: Yus. More flashgames, including a somewhat difficult (in the end, anyway) strategy game, but as it's the 5th in the series I might not bother linking it.
ArPharazonV: Also, I got going on that Game of Thrones browser MMO I mentioned last time.
VardaValar1: How was it?
ArPharazonV: Pretty good, though I've been tackling it rather differently than I should.
VardaValar1: Hah, learning then.
ArPharazonV: No, on purpose.
ArPharazonV: You're supposed to slowly get more income as you progress through the quests, and be able to afford better and better "Sworn Swords" a sort of henchmen/adventurers you can send on your quests and missions for you.
ArPharazonV: But as I'd already tried the MMO before (though I didn't spend much time on it, and restarted my account last week to start all over), and I decided to skip a bit of the early difficulty at the cost of a few more days to get going...
ArPharazonV: So this past week I've spent upgrading my basic income through the Counting House in order to save up and immediately go for a top-quality Sworn Sword, which should allow me to breeze through the earlier quests :-)
ArPharazonV: And if my calculations are correct, I should be able to buy my first one tomorrow!
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya peops :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
karakedi25: aiya
LizMarr: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Menel :-)
ArPharazonV: So I may be low level, but at least my minions will be quite overpowered!
VardaValar1: This one claims to be the complete LotR symphony, trying it to see:
VardaValar1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mfFQuhWaA_k
karakedi25: yay!
VardaValar1: yay for powerful minions!
karakedi25: yay for beautiful music
ArPharazonV: And that's it for me.
VardaValar1: Thanks Phar :-)
VardaValar1: I did a little StarCraft/BroodWar zerg and protoss with Fangorn.
karakedi25: As for me, I play lotro while sitting around being infused with delightful systemic poisons :-P
karakedi25: and before and after!
VardaValar1: LotRO for the win!
LizMarr: on a laptop?
karakedi25: indeed so
karakedi25: of course
Menelvagor Valar: Play SC2 sometimes Varda?
LizMarr: EQ2 has an iPhone app... lol
karakedi25: they even provide a nice padded surface for my lap. Quite excellent.
VardaValar1: Not lately. I could borrow Sauron or Bilbo's comp to do that.
VardaValar1: Have to do something while waiting for repops, Ioreth. ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: Anyone who does, I'll be in this channel pretty much all the time, so if you fancy a swing, just hop by and see if I'm around.
ArPharazonV: Might do that now and then.
AriehnV: aiya Menel :-)
ArPharazonV: If I'm up for some depressing pvp matches.
VardaValar1: Aye, he's been on a lot!
Menelvagor Valar: I'm never up for pvp matches... or hardly ever, I don't like pvp too much.\
AriehnV: been a bit Rifting occasionally and still very calual diabloing
ArPharazonV: So why do you want to meet people in SC2? Vs AI? Custom games?
LizMarr: Been getting some lovely Swedish rep runs
VardaValar1: Ahh, right. Diablo 3 for Bilbo. I've been slacking on gaming!
Menelvagor Valar: Don't mistake me being here for being here Varda, more often than not, my comp is just idling while I am off doing other stuff :-P
Menelvagor Valar: vs AI :-)
ArPharazonV: That can be fun, yup.
VardaValar1: Right, like the chat marathon, and I've noticed. ;-)

karakedi25: Surely you're playing The One Game, Varda?
VardaValar1: LotRO is my number one game for sure! If any game gets played, it does. Been on with my champion and guardian this past week. Fangorn plays his hunter and I play champ with him.
VardaValar1: Nar and Hamson have been on a good bit and we get together some, chat a good bit. : )
VardaValar1: Lots of folks in the Valar friend channel, and in the multiple kin channel we're in. Raids called for fairly often, especially evenings.
AriehnV: been a bit on my guardian lately , still get sick with mounted combat (not physically lucklily but still that odd nauseous feeling))
karakedi25: Coming back to LotR soundtracks, this one is nice because it tells what's playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSfkU29hXwM
VardaValar1: Thanks Indis. :-)
AriehnV: so i prefer doing the quests wiwhich involve no mounted combat
LizMarr: I do mounted combat at a trot, really don't have any problems
VardaValar1: Does a different camera angle help/
VardaValar1: Maybe if you pull way out on the angle?
karakedi25: I've been building up my warden; she got to 78 yesterday. I like the way the warden self-heals....life tap on enemies.
karakedi25: My problem with MC is a kind of lag that makes me oversteer, and the speed of the WS makes it worse.
LizMarr: That is why a trot, simple, easy, trot
VardaValar1: Might need more agility on the mount, use the mount slow down setting, and think of it as a power car. ^^
LizMarr: Figure 8 works nice
karakedi25: yup, I do all of those. It's a problem with my computer, I think.
LizMarr: My comps are like 5+ years old, I'd love to get a better one
karakedi25: But otherwise I purely love MC.
LizMarr: laptops that is, the pc's are up to 10 years or so
LizMarr: I can't wait until the expansion, so cool things, and not so cool
VardaValar1: We should be having another festival pretty soon in LotRO. Probably the Halloween style with the haunted house and some wild housing items. : )
karakedi25: Yes, I believe that's upcoming.
AriehnV: just dont have any more slots for putting stuff :-\
AriehnV: need more wall space hehe
karakedi25: That's what mules are for.
LizMarr: all my slots are gone... sigh... wish we could have bigger bags
AriehnV: yeah but you cant buy a different house on a different charater .. would be nice if you could have more than one house per accounts
LizMarr: >.<
VardaValar1: You can make a free to play account and get another house. ;-)
VardaValar1: Or we might try clearing some of our stuff out.
karakedi25: Actually that would be difficult because of the gold cap. You'd have to go premium.
karakedi25: Horrors, what a thought!
ArPharazonV: Hah. Make 5 different free to play accounts, bunch of houses, store everything.
VardaValar1: Not all that familiar with f2p mechanics, thanks.
karakedi25: I believe it's 2 gold.
LizMarr: I'm on F2P
LizMarr: it works best if you buy a month THEN drop to F2P
karakedi25: that makes you premium, which still has restrictions, but more generous than f2p
VardaValar1: True
LizMarr: well I started F2P, then paid for a few months, then couldn't afford and stopped paying. I kept most of my stuff but not all
karakedi25: but that's the best thing to do--get a 1 or 3 month sub, then give it up. I think the best deal is 3 months rather than 1
VardaValar1: My time is limited, or it would be great to let you keep talking about LotRO. Makes me want to play it too!
VardaValar1: Side window is still good though. :-)
LizMarr: and I can buy expansions and play them...
LizMarr: and I can be in beta too

VardaValar1: WoW:
VardaValar1: Phar, you had a quick bit of news?
ArPharazonV: Just that Hallow's End, the Halloween event for WoW, starts next week :-) Still pets, achievements and mount available for people who want them!
ArPharazonV: Otherwise, not much news that I know of.
VardaValar1: Thanks! A bit of fun there. :-)

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Music: Eru began creation with music, teaching the Valar as soloists, then they learned duets and groups.
VardaValar1: After Arda was created, music still had exceptional effects in Middle-earth.
VardaValar1: Can you think of a few of these? Any book is fine.
ArPharazonV: I believe it was Finrod who came across the first Men in Beleriand, greeting them with music, to the point where they thought they were dreaming?
ArPharazonV: So started the alliance between the Elves and the Edain.
karakedi25: Of course, all the arts were important to the elves.
VardaValar1: Aye, they did, the first contact between elves and men. And they were lucky it was Finrod!
AriehnV: hmm what springs to mind is Sam singing in Cirith Ungol and under the influence of the ring his voice sounded like that of an elf lord of old
karakedi25: the ring, and possibly Galadriel's gift
VardaValar1: Luthien used song to escape her prison, and in a form of battle with Morgoth, putting him to sleep so that Beren could take a silmaril from the Iron Crown.
AriehnV: to get himsefl courage and put fear into the enimies
VardaValar1: Aye. Sometimes music or words seemed almost to possess some of the heroes that the Valar were helping.
AriehnV: and there was a "song contest" between Maglor and Morgoth?
AriehnV: something like that i vaguely remember
VardaValar1: Finrod and Sauron had a song battle
ArPharazonV: Right, in the tower.
AriehnV: Finrod and Sauron ah of course almost ^^
VardaValar1: Sauron could only defeat Finrod because of the actions of the Feanorians that he could put into the song as accusations.
VardaValar1: Tom Bombadil used song, controlling Old Man Willow, putting him back to sleep.
ArPharazonV: And in the Barrow Downs as well.
VardaValar1: True
VardaValar1: Songs from Tom and Goldberry seemed to aid the world around them as well.
VardaValar1: Maybe the elves should have been singing instead of relying so much on Rings?
ArPharazonV: Forget Rings, use "magical" musical instruments.
ArPharazonV: The flute of air, the drums of fire.
ArPharazonV: One Violin to Rule Them All.
VardaValar1: Yay!
VardaValar1: It may be one of the directions that Sauron misled the elves and humans from, the real source of power from Eru and the Valar's creation and sub-creation.
VardaValar1: He didn't want them strong; he wanted to rule them.
ArPharazonV: The dwarfs singing gave Bilbo at least some courage to come with them.
ArPharazonV: Dwarves.
VardaValar1: Oh, that's right. It moved him to feel what the Dwarves did.
VardaValar1: Brought an empathy. Probably the deciding factor for him.
VardaValar1: I'm out of time, dear friends.
VardaValar1: May your gaming and your real life both bring you contentment and happiness. :-)
top

VardaValar1: After-meeting:
VardaValar1: Maybe some of you can get together in LotRO now. : ) Friend channel can help.
VardaValar1: or other. : )
VardaValar1: Namarie for now!
ArPharazonV: Namarie!@
ArPharazonV: -@
VardaValar1: ^^
LizMarr: Sorry to talk too much...
VardaValar1: Chat marathon got me spoiled. Leaving the chat room open!
ArPharazonV: Hah.
VardaValar1: Ioreth, you did fine. Too much quiet here too often!
LizMarr: I talk to much
ArPharazonV: We talked more than you did, I'm sure.
VardaValar1: You didn't talk too much today. ^^ And now is free chat time! Type all you like. : )
VardaValar1: I'm going downstairs to see Gimli, Sauron, Fangorn, and other friends. Take care!
ArPharazonV: Have fun!
karakedi25: Varda likes them better than us *cry*
AriehnV: :-(
ArPharazonV: It's that darn RPG game.
karakedi25: she can RP with us :-P
AriehnV: always them addicted gamers eh ;-)
karakedi25: present company excluded, of course ;-)
VardaValar1: I don't!
AriehnV: *giggles*
VardaValar1: I like you all. *feels like butter stretched over too much yummy bread*
karakedi25: *grins* gotcha!
LizMarr: the raid I was on RP'd, it was pretty low stress. I need that
karakedi25: low stress is good
LizMarr: was interesting. not sure if they were going about it correctly, but we tried
ArPharazonV: The enjoyable way is the correct way.
LizMarr: I never been before, so I have no clue. Sure were darn good healers though - we needed them
LizMarr: It was called something like "fires of Smaug" *shrug*
ArPharazonV: Sounds Ereborian.
LizMarr: Think it was that name
LizMarr: first LOTRO raid I have been on, only about the 5th instance. and Aleyne is level 84
LizMarr has left the room.
karakedi25: It is one of the Erebor raids.
karakedi25: Namarie, mellyn
ArPharazonV: Namarie
karakedi25 has left the room.
AriehnV: Namarie :-)
AriehnV has left the room.
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
