Eonwe Valar: Any other membership news?
AriehnV: we had some .. sorry i refrain from the term whats in my mind .. clipping Bruce's car front without leaving a notice or adress
Eonwe Valar: Ouch. Sorry to hear that happened.
AriehnV: thats why i ll probably be a bit quieter today and stay in the background poking my nose
AriehnV: aye we had the police here and rreported it to them
ArPharazonV: Put you in a bad mood?
AriehnV: i am soo angry that you dont believe it to be honest .. but i am controlling it as best as i can
AriehnV: its such cowardice
ArPharazonV: Who doesn't believe it?
Eonwe Valar: We can understand your anger over that, no worries.
AriehnV: well just a way of "hard to imagine"
ArPharazonV: Ah. Yes.
Glorfindel VG: Aye, sounds very frustrating
AriehnV: the second time something like that happened in front of the house
AriehnV: first time with Bruces old car someone broke the side mirrors .. both of them
AriehnV: and now this
Eonwe Valar: Bah.
AriehnV: so you probably can imagine that i really want to move from this house ^^
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
AriehnV: anyway thats about it
AriehnV: it will get sorted i hope and i hope we find a new place soon
Eonwe Valar: I hope so as well.

Eonwe Valar: Web:
Eonwe Valar: Nothing new on the Games Site, doesn't look like there's anything new this week on the Tolkien Site either.
top

Eonwe Valar: Gaminig:
Eonwe Valar: WoW:
Eonwe Valar: Patch 5.1 coming to the PTR soon (yes, already)
Eonwe Valar: Lothar:
Eonwe Valar: We should be guild level 24 by now, and probably a good ways in :}
ArPharazonV: (AD Europe guild is now 25)
Eonwe Valar: Glorfindel made it to lvl 90 this week, Giving us 4 90s now (Eonwe, Bofur, Bilbo, Glorfindel)
Glorfindel VG: we hit 24 yesterday
Eonwe Valar: Excellent. Thanks, Glorfindel :}
AriehnV: grats :-)
Eonwe Valar: Friday: Eonwe, Glorfindel, and Bofur ran the scenarios Greenstone Village, Theramore's Fall, and Brewmoon Festivl. Then Eonwe, Bofur, and Bilbo ran Unga Ingoo.
Eonwe Valar: We'll see what we get up to today :}

Eonwe Valar: LotRO:
Eonwe Valar: Riders of Rohan launching tomorrow.
Eonwe Valar: Probably have a bunch of us in there tomorrow night working on the new stuff (those of us who bought the expansion, at least :})
Eonwe Valar: I'm not aware of anything off the top of my head going on in LotRO for the past week.
Eonwe Valar: Besides getting ready for the expansion, anyway.

Eonwe Valar: Anybody have any other gaming news for this week? Anyone play anything besides WoW and LotRO?
ArPharazonV: Few more flashgames. Spent a few days on some rocket-launching upgrade game and I also tried and failed at a Zelda-like flashgame which kept killing me at the same point. But otherwise nothing special.
Eonwe Valar: Any other gaming?
Eonwe Valar: Now would also be the time to whisper me Tolkien topics :}
top

Eonwe Valar: Tolkien:
Eonwe Valar: Or rather..
Eonwe Valar: Tolkien:
Eonwe Valar: There, had more feelign the second time :}
Eonwe Valar: Everyone here, say Fastitocalon
Iryenth has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Fastitocalon.
Eonwe Valar: Heya Gilraen :}
Iryenth: aiya
ArPharazonV: You really need to pick a better word for that.
Eonwe Valar: You mean a name hard to type isn't the perfect word to see if people are here? :}
ArPharazonV: What if we mistype it? Does that mean we're not here though we pretend to be?
ArPharazonV: Typing from another room perhaps?
Eonwe Valar: Hehe
Glorfindel VG: fasticaslfkla
ArPharazonV: Imposter!
Eonwe Valar: :}
Eonwe Valar: OK, everyone here, say Nan Dungortheb :}
AriehnV: Nan Dungortheb
Glorfindel VG: hehe
ArPharazonV: Nan Dungortheb
karakedi25 has entered the room.
AriehnV: yo Indis
karakedi25: aiya
Eonwe Valar: ok, Here is the topic for tonight, with a quote to set it up.
Eonwe Valar: Heya Indis :}
Eonwe Valar: "'Perhaps he also thought that you were Saruman,' said Gimli. 'But you speak of him as if he were a friend. I thought Fangorn was dangerous.'
Eonwe Valar: 'Dangerous!' creid Gandalf. "And so am I, very dangerous: more dangerous than anythign you will ever meet, unless you are brought alive before the seat of the Dark Lord. And Aragorn is dangerous, and Legolas is dangerous. You are beset with dangers, Gimli son of Gloin; for you are dangerous yourself, in your own fashion....'"
Eonwe Valar: Barring the dangerous typose, what other "dangers" have we in Middle-Earth, and what makes them dangerous?
karakedi25: enough power (of whatever sort) to cause harm to those they think a threat to themselves or to something they care about
ArPharazonV: Oh, so many. The lords and princes of the various kingdoms, various animals like Gwaihir and the other eagles, Beorn...
ArPharazonV: And what Indis said.
ArPharazonV: Dangerous does not mean bad or evil. It's just.. dangerous.
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
Eonwe Valar: Shall we get more specific on the whos and whats? For example, I would say at the moment Frodo is standing over the Crack of Doom with the Ring, his danger level was quite high :}
karakedi25: danger from him or to him?
Eonwe Valar: "Danger" in the sense of the quote I gave.
ArPharazonV: Danger from him, to Sauron, for one
Eonwe Valar: Frodo was deciding a good many fates that day.
Eonwe Valar: Sauron's in particular.
karakedi25: Frodo is dangerous to Sauron and his minions if he succeeds; dangerous to himself and the Free People if he decides to keep the Ring and succeeds at it
karakedi25: or if Sauron whacks him and takes it
Eonwe Valar: Well, the danger in keepign the Ring is that he wouldn't succeed at keeping it. Sauron would've taken it from him had he thought to leave the interior of Mount Doom.
karakedi25: he is *in* danger from Gollum, the fire, and his own failing strength
ArPharazonV: And from the Ring itself, as it prays on his will.
fladrifv has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya Flad
Eonwe Valar: Gondor certainly stood as a danger to large armies who wished to invade the West. The Rangers of Arnor stood as a danger to the more furtive invaders infiltrating the Northern lands west of the Misty Mountains.
AriehnV: restarting computer
AriehnV: danger from technic it seams pfft
Eonwe Valar: hehe
AriehnV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: If there's nothing else to add on this topic, I suppose we can bang the gavel and let everyone be about their business :}
karakedi25: none of those are in conflict with my generalization
karakedi25: and power is relative. Normally an ant is not dangerous to an elephant, but it might be to an aphid
Eonwe Valar: I didn't say they were. I was merely trying to get some specifics.
Eonwe Valar: Any army of ants may be dangerous to an elephant :}
Eonwe Valar: Or several armies of ants :}
ArPharazonV: *pictures an army of ants carrying away an elephant*
Eonwe Valar: Certainly there are individuals with greater or lesser degrees of power, and where one cannot accomplish something, many may succeed.
Eonwe Valar: Faramir alone would not have stopped the Haradrim from marching through Ithilien, but with his men, they certainly made them rue coming through.
ArPharazonV: And on the other hand an army of men would probably not have been able to accomplish what Frodo and Sam did, in their infiltration of Mordor.
Eonwe Valar: Indeed, part of Faramir's danger was that the men who followed him loved him.
Eonwe Valar: *more clearly, part of what made Faramir dangerous.
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Aye to what Phar said right before Igot disconnected.
Eonwe Valar: An army of Elf-lords marching Frodo and Sam to Mount Doom would've been *worse* than sending the Fellowship, because it would've alerted Sauron to something significant.
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, just a topic I thought I'd try out :}
Eonwe Valar: If anyone would like to continue it into Aftermeeting, please feel free, but for those who need to turn their attention elsewhere,....
Eonwe Valar: *Bangs gavel*

Eonwe Valar: Aftermeeting :}
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Well, I'm back. :}
ArPharazonV: *grin* famous words, there
Eonwe Valar: :}
AriehnV has entered the room.
AriehnV: am i back?
ArPharazonV: You are.
AriehnV: silence is golden aye?
ArPharazonV: Can you read this?
AriehnV: yes i can thanks :-)
ArPharazonV: Good.
AriehnV: just been wondering about the silence
ArPharazonV: And we're in aftermeeting now.
AriehnV: ah i see i almost thought so
AriehnV: i had to update the graphics driver
ArPharazonV: I think I did that a week or two ago.
ArPharazonV: While I've had no more driver-based reboots since then, once every few days or so the screen goes black for a few seconds, so there's still something wrong. But then I could seriously do with some massive hardware updates.
ArPharazonV: *upgrades.
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
fladrifv has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Back. Sorry, tv started smoking, so I had to drag it out of my room.
ArPharazonV: That doesn't sound good.
Eonwe Valar: Not at all. Wasn't the kind of electricity smell I'm used to either.
AriehnV: yikes .. did you manage to unplug it and remove from the house?
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
AriehnV: hmph any idea why?
Eonwe Valar: None.
karakedi25: under gaming, was there mention of tomorrow's lotro expansion?
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
karakedi25: ok
karakedi25: lots of excitement and anticipation
AriehnV: :-)
karakedi25: calling it a night--see you later, perhaps in Rohan
karakedi25: Namarie
karakedi25 has left the room.
AriehnV: Be safe :-) and make sure your fire alarm works Eonwe
AriehnV: still better throw anything out that could cause fire and tell someone
AriehnV: and get a new tv tomorrow :-P
AriehnV: Namarie for now
ArPharazonV: Namarie
ArPharazonV: Could also get the old one fixed!
AriehnV: could true enough if its fixable
AriehnV: this brownish thing could be melted inside
AriehnV: dont know the english word for that
AriehnV: anyway be safe
AriehnV has left the room.
Iryenth has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Sadly, getting it fixed is probably about the same cost as getting a new one.
ArPharazonV: saving and sending transcript
ArPharazonV (8:18:54 PM): saved
