You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
AriehnV has entered the room.
fladrifv has entered the room.
Iryenth has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya, invited who I saw online, though that wasn't many.
fladrifv: Aiya
fladrifv: let the few make a lot
Iryenth: Aiya all
ArPharazonV: Can't invite Indis for some reason.
AriehnV: Aiya all :-)
ArPharazonV: Eonwe and Varda are unavailable today, so I suppose Arien's in charge :-)
AriehnV: eh aye i suppose so :-)
AriehnV: Varda told me that
AriehnV: shall we begin on time for a change?
ArPharazonV: Couple of minutes too late for that ;-)
AriehnV: Aiya Elendil ancalima!
top

AriehnV: Elen sila lumenn omentielvo ! :-D
AriehnV: Membership news
AriehnV: today Varda and Eonwe are unable to attend the meeting , so you have to put up with me for a change as chair
AriehnV: does anyone else have some membership news?
ArPharazonV: Yep, my birthday today :-)
AriehnV: wonderful :-D
AriehnV: Happy birthday and all the best for your new year of life !
ArPharazonV: Thanks!
AriehnV: may i ask how young you are today if you want to share?
ArPharazonV: 27 now
AriehnV: very young still :-)
ArPharazonV: Still young by some accounts, yes, though I've never been older!
AriehnV: i am 15 years older ;-)
AriehnV: one is always as young as the heart , or so they say
ArPharazonV: That's true!
AriehnV: according to that i am probably no older than 15 .. maybe sometimes in rare cases five :-)
AriehnV: there we are my blessing anyway for you on this special day
ArPharazonV: I've always considered myself somewhere in my mid-late teens, though that's probably just my workethic and resentment of responsibility.
ArPharazonV: Thank you :-)
AriehnV: hehe :-)

AriehnV: Web News: I believe Eonwe has been trying to whisk something up but unfortunately didnt have the time to put it online
AriehnV: so there none i fear
top

AriehnV: Gaming :
AriehnV: I know there are some stories almost ready to go up but they are still in the ether out there and should be up soon
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
AriehnV: Has anyone played any none Lotro/WoW games this week?
ArPharazonV: Yep, several.
AriehnV: Aiya Glorfindel :-)
Glorfindel VG: Aiya :-)
ArPharazonV: I've played some flashgames, including a small but interesting maze game called Fracuum, that continuously zooms in as you go along. Sounds a bit vague, but I'll let you try it yourself.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/594354 is one of the links, it's also on various other sites
AriehnV: Fracuum sounds very interesting and see who flies in there :-)
Eonwe Valar: Heya.
AriehnV: Aiya Eonwe
ArPharazonV: Also, two MLP games I'm looking at, have released gameplay demos this week, which I've tried and enjoyed so far. I'll give you a couple of links to those as well.
AriehnV: Ar Pharazon has just mentioned that he has his birthday today and we are into non Lotro/non Wow gaming
Glorfindel VG: Happy birthday!
Eonwe Valar: Thanks and Happy Birthday :}
ArPharazonV: Gameplay demos as in playable demos, not just videos.
ArPharazonV: One is a platformer called The Fiends From Dream Valley, and the demo can be found at http://www.dreamvalleygame.com/game/game.html where you can play it online, or you can download it as well with voices in place.
ArPharazonV: Voices and sounds, I mean.
ArPharazonV: And the other is for an investigations game, which I mentioned a few weeks ago, http://www.equestriandreamers.com/2012/05/05/case-1-demo/ has the demo for the first case.
ArPharazonV: Neither are very large, and probably not of much interest unless you're a "brony" like me, but hey, feel free to give them a try.
AriehnV: cool thanks for that Phara :-)
ArPharazonV: And now it's time to wait for the full versions to be done ;-)
ArPharazonV: no problem; that's my gaming report for non-wow
AriehnV: I myself have been doing a couple of STO missions with a new Vulcan there
AriehnV: Star Trek online that is
ArPharazonV: oh, and thanks, Glorfindel and Eonwe ;-)
AriehnV: its a free to play mmo and has a nice feeling about the space battles
AriehnV: the graphcs are not as high as in other mmos but the cinematics are nice and have a nice "trekky " feeling
ArPharazonV: Are there Borg?
AriehnV: Nothing else beside that apart that i managed to invite one of Vardas characters into SW: ToR into our Republic Valar branch last sunday after the meeting
AriehnV: yes there are Borg indeed :-)
AriehnV: and Undines
AriehnV: one of the first missions , one of the tutorials in fact takes you straight into conflict with them , the Borg i mean
ArPharazonV: Ooh, straight into the action, eh?
AriehnV: if you want to try out something new of that kind i d recommend it , even tho that universe is very crowded
AriehnV: aye :-)
Eonwe Valar: Pardon, computer issue. I need to restart real quick.
AriehnV: all right
AriehnV: we wait for Eonwe to come back for the WoW and LotrO reports
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
AriehnV: what i definitely dont like in STO is that you always find some Ferengi Loot boxes that you are not able to open unless you buy a master key in the cryptric store
AriehnV: they are 4 pounds each , or 400 cryptic points
ArPharazonV: Ouch. And there's no other way to open them?
karakedi25 has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya Indis
karakedi25: aiya
AriehnV: nah no other way
AriehnV: aiya Indis :-)
ArPharazonV: So you are forced to pay real money to open boxes that you frequently find in-game? That sounds quite annoying.
AriehnV: we are into Non LotrO non WoW gaming and talking a bit about Star Trek online while we are waiting for Eonwe to come back online . He had some computer issues
AriehnV: yep
AriehnV: else its a nice and potentially addictive game but you have to pay for everything really v iable
AriehnV: same for new ships as well or ship slots if you want more than two
AriehnV: so not sure whether i actually keep it , as it is i am busy enough :-)
AriehnV: I mean you dont have to buy things for real money but but ..
AriehnV: Lets continue .. Eonwe seems to have more trouble than he expected

AriehnV: WoW report:
AriehnV: we have for that until Eonwe returns , which might happen later or not
AriehnV: Generally for wow children's week has ended and Darkmoon Faire has opened its portals
AriehnV: I hope you all got what you wanted for that :-) on alts or mains
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
AriehnV: I myself got one of the Dalaran orphans on my raid character :-)
Eonwe Valar: OK, things are looking better now.
ArPharazonV: Got a Darkmoon Balloon last night, used it all day while questing and raiding, just to celebrate the birthday. So Darkmoon timing was very good :-)
AriehnV: Another achievement this week was the title Detroyer's End on Wednesday :-)
ArPharazonV: And I already had the Dalaran orphans, but I did get my last Children's Week pet; the small fenstrider from Shattrath called "Legs".
AriehnV: and grats Phara to that and welcome back Eonwe :-)
ArPharazonV: Oh, grats on the title :-)
AriehnV: oh and i ve got the sea pony :-) from fishing in Darkmoon island
ArPharazonV: Grats!
AriehnV: Eonwe, do you have a WoW report?
Eonwe Valar: I have nothing this week, no. Seems most of us were busy out in the real world.
AriehnV: thats ok :-) Life goes as it wants and not as you or I want it
AriehnV: Real Life always takes priority above gaming or should do so :-)
ArPharazonV: Bah, if I held to that, I'd never get anything done online.
Eonwe Valar: :}
AriehnV: true ;-) but you know what i mean

AriehnV: Indis , do you have something to say on the LotrO side?
AriehnV: else i ll just copy paste what is on the website
AriehnV: Gaming / LotRO:Saturday 1pm EDT. Skirmish: Tuckborough 12-man completed:Handy reference suggested by Mosby: http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Skirmish_Lieutenants_Quick_ReferenceGildor (captain Livinola), Gorlim (lore-master Istarond), Indis (hunter Tinirian), Irmo (guardian Irmogar), Melkor (rune-keeper Passim), Miriel (minstrel Mahariel), Nimrodel (champion CynthiaJane), and Varda (minstrel Tinwetari).and friends: hunter Garnet and burglar Mosby of The Palantiri; hunter Truwing of Irony and SpiteFor those wanting to join in the dry run for the horse race event that we're helping out with (see May 4 letter below), email Mosby of the Palantiri at jpaulkeller [at] comcast (do t) ne t and/or show up at 2pm server time. Irmo, Miriel, and Varda plan to be in on it, so come along with us if you like. :-) Dry run made, plans made. Then we (Elwing, Hamson, Irmo, Miriel, Pippin, and Varda) attended some of the events going on.
AriehnV: the horse race event that we're helping out with (see May 4 letter below), email Mosby of the Palantiri at jpaulkeller [at] comcast (do t) ne t and/or show up at 2pm server time. Irmo, Miriel, and Varda plan to be in on it, so come along with us if you like. :-) Dry run made, plans made. Then we (Elwing, Hamson, Irmo, Miriel, Pippin, and Varda) attended some of the events going on. Irmohir won third place in the Mounted Fashion Show with his Sauronesque spiky dark outfit and cave-claw style horse.We also made a "stable run" for Elwing's Brilanthir traveling from Bree to Rivendell
AriehnV: Indis carry on :-)
karakedi25: Not a lot to add, though there's a new update (Update 7) in the public testing area, which means it should show up within a week or so on live...
karakedi25: full revamp of the Fornost instance to be like Helegrod: 4 wings, scalable to level cap, a new skirmish raid in Dunland, revamp of the earlier half of Moria...
karakedi25: various class fixes. A very large list of additions and fixes.
karakedi25: The best news is that there are plans (not in U7) for a sixth inventory bag, probalby available with prepurchase of Riders of Rohan, the expansion due in fall.
AriehnV: ah i wonder how they ll change Moria .. that is such a maze and gigantesque it gets annoying after a while . unfortunately there is no other level 50 to 60 questing hub available for now
AriehnV: i was heartily tired of it by the time i reached the end fifties
karakedi25: making the quests flow more easily, among other things, so you don't have to chase all over in one quest chain, and various other things in the preliminary update notes for the public test server
Eonwe Valar: Moria taught me I was most certainly not a Dwarf, and Caras Galadon taught me I was most certainly not a Silvan Elf :}
AriehnV: hehe
karakedi25: sounds as though it will make Moria considerably more bearable
karakedi25: oh yes, speaking of Lothlorien, they are doing away with the rep requirement to enter it in U7, so that people can get to Mirkwood and Great River without doing Loth
AriehnV: oh !
AriehnV: Loth was kind of relaxing after Moria
karakedi25: I liked having an area with mostly non-combat quests
AriehnV: indeed :-) some were really funny
AriehnV: but dont lets go too much into detail and move on
AriehnV: if anyone has a Tolkien Topic or moment he or she wants to share let me know:-)
karakedi25: Can't offhand think of anything more to add about LotRO.
AriehnV: my wee guardian had a good look at some festival quests
ArPharazonV: Hmm, that horse race event you mentioned.. that's called the Galloping Gala, right?
AriehnV: won a pie eating contest and did a couple of races
AriehnV: och aye i almost forgot about that :-)
AriehnV: Gaming / LotRO:Here's an event that all Valarites are invited to help the Palantiri with, as its best to have at least two people at a station so one can take a bio-break as needed, and because this could be a blast. If you're not manning a station, you still might join in the race!Gala link to the Valar Guild forum thread.Letter from Miriel:Wanted to share some information concerning the Galloping Gala, one of the scheduled events is being brought to us by our friends in the Palantiri. I have provided some links and information below as well as copied J/Mosby on this e-mail (just in-case something changes or I made errors).I volunteered to help them out with their event, so will need to have a shorten our guild run a little bit that Saturday. ;-) winkingOfficial LotRO information:http://www.lotro.com/gallopinggala/1935-galloping-gala-2012Official LotRO schedule of events:http://www.lotro.com/gallopinggala/1955-galloping-gala-schedule-of-events-2012
karakedi25: That's the name of the whole event, which includes a variety of player initiated events, many of them on Landroval (our server)
ArPharazonV: That name has to be a My Little Pony reference. It's too similar not to be.
AriehnV: The Palantiri's Event Information:Great Race 2012: Race in the Fellowship's Footsteps May 12th @ 4 PM ESTReply with quote Quote There will be 9 check-points (and challenges), one for each member of the Fellowship. There are 3 types of challenges: playful ones (dealing with emotes, cosmetic gear, and the like), puzzle ones (mostly based on LotR lore), and special ones (like Name That Tune and the Scavenger Hunt). Each region has at most one of each type.
ArPharazonV: I guess fans of the show can be find everywhere :-)
ArPharazonV: *found
AriehnV: sure :-) Although i dont know anything about that apart from the toy :-)
Eonwe Valar: While it wouldn't be surprising, it's possible the guys and gals at Turbine just liked the alliteration :}
karakedi25: Oh yes, the Fifth Anniversary event was extended to May 6, so the nice tokens that can be exchanged for goodies and marks are still dropping, and the fireworks are still exploding.
AriehnV: nice :-)
karakedi25: They did a nice job with the anniversary this year.
ArPharazonV: The Grand Galloping Gala is the name of an event which was pretty much the focus of much of season 1 of the new MLP series, the center of the season 1 final episode, and the topic of a song from that episode which has become quite famous on the internet as well. While the event-organizers may have come up with the name themselves, it seems rather unlikely ;-)
AriehnV: Och Eonwe is just poking me and reminding to mention this weeks wednesday run :-)
AriehnV: Great Barrows completed:Eonwe (champion Auros), Hamson (48 hunter Amyni), and Varda (71 guardian Timbridhil
AriehnV: i think thats all from that what i had
AriehnV: and for Monda they completed Halls of Mirrors in Moria
AriehnV: Monday 8pm EDT run:Hall of Mirrors completed:Nimrodel (hunter Ardisian), Pippin (champion Avengelina), and Varda (minstrel Tinwetari).
AriehnV: thanks to both Eonwe and Ar Pharazon for reminding me of those events :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
Eonwe Valar: Thank you Arien for chairing the meeting while Varda and I both were otherwise occupied :}
AriehnV: Has anyone thought of a Tolkien topic in the meantime?
AriehnV: i ll gladly hand you the gavel for the rest :-)
Eonwe Valar: You're doing fine :}
karakedi25: Bullroarer U7 release notes here:
karakedi25: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?457482-Update-7-Bullroarer-Release-Notes-%28B0%29-SUBJECT-TO-CHANGE
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Indis :}

Tolkien:
AriehnV: if noone has anything i d like to close with a funny , well sort of funny, poem from the Hobbit
AriehnV: feel free to counter it with whatever comes to mind after :-)
Eonwe Valar: Giving us a Tolkien Moment for the Tolkien part of the meeting then? :}
AriehnV: I was thinking of that ye
Eonwe Valar: Go for it :}
AriehnV: ah
AriehnV: Said verses are as the Dwarven PARTy including Hobbit and wizard are riding into Rivendell
AriehnV: by the Elves in various trees and bushes along their trail

AriehnV: OH! What are you doing? And where are you going? Your ponies need shooing! The river is flowing:-$
AriehnV: O tra la lala la - here in the valley
AriehnV: Oh what are you seeking? And what are you making?]#
AriehnV: the faggots are reeking , the bgannocks are baking
AriehnV: oh tril - lil- lolly, the valley is jollyh
AriehnV: o! where are you going with beards all a-wagging
ArPharazonV: bit of a Bombadil vibe there.
AriehnV: No knowing, no knowing
AriehnV: what brings Mr. Baggins?and Balin and Dwalin into the valley?
AriehnV: er pardon me - down into the valley
AriehnV: in June! ha ! ha!
AriehnV: o! will you be staying? will you be flying?
AriehnV: Your ponies are straying, the daylight is dying
AriehnV: To fly would be folly
AriehnV: to stay would be jolly
AriehnV: and listen and hark
AriehnV: till the end of the dark
AriehnV: to our tune! ha! ha

AriehnV: End of quote
karakedi25: cute :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
Eonwe Valar: Auros was not among those Elves :}
AriehnV: hehe i surely cant imagine him there :-)
AriehnV: or if he would have heard it he probably just would have scowled and fled into the halls of fire
top

AriehnV: Lets call it Aftermeeting .... bong! hammer time finished
ArPharazonV: They rather do sound more like the "fairies" from the Book of Lost Tales, mixed with Tom Bombadil.
AriehnV: aye they certainly do
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
AriehnV: and Rivendel or the first version of it is the whats it called? House of Lost Stories or something?
Eonwe Valar: Cottage of Lost Play in BoLT
AriehnV: Cottage of Lost Play of course :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
AriehnV: i loved the idea that Rainbows provided a bridge for Mankind to cross into the lands of the Eldar
AriehnV: olore malle .. if i i remember right
AriehnV: the way of dreams or something like that
Eonwe Valar: The Path of Dreams, aye.
AriehnV: some things do stick :-) I am glad for that , grin
Eonwe Valar: Aye :}
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Bah, got disconnected. Did I miss anything?
ArPharazonV: Nope.
Eonwe Valar: ok
ArPharazonV: Eonwe Valar: Aye :}Eonwe Valar has left the room.Eonwe Valar has entered the room.

Eonwe Valar: I will add as a note that I've finished my digging through all the stuff we've talked about.
Eonwe Valar: for the RP.
ArPharazonV: Yes. It was interesting to see how much was already written about some things, and I'll have to keep it in mind for future installments. Looks like there was quite a bit about the ring already in the story that I had forgotten.
Eonwe Valar: Anyone had a chance to read that last incredibly large chunk? :}
ArPharazonV: Though I have to admit I only skimmed through your account of all the things said in meetings, though I might try again :-)
Eonwe Valar: It's *is* alot of stuff, so I don't blame you, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: I tried to catch the imporant stuff, or at least stuff that wasn't overly repetitious.
karakedi25: the 'wall of text'?
Eonwe Valar: *important
Eonwe Valar: I left it more or less intact from copy/pasting from the meetings, so yeah, wall of text would be a good description :}
Eonwe Valar: Although I spaced it by date so it would be mostly "bricks of text" rather than entire walls :}
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, with all that research done, my Elrond post should come soon.
karakedi25: I look forward to seeing it
AriehnV: so shall i and thanks for all the research
AriehnV: it will be an important resource for us to come back to as reference
Eonwe Valar: I hope it proves as useful for you all as it does for me :}
ArPharazonV: Yes! All the work you put into those posts is certainly appreciated. We've got a bit of a base to work from now.
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
