ariehnv has been invited.
iryenth has been invited.
AriehnV has entered the room.
menelvagorvalar has been invited.
EonweValar (Eonwe Valar) has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya :-)
EonweValar: Heya.
VardaValar1: Time change is throwing everyone, heh.
VardaValar1: It was a bit nutty in LotRO's run today, getting folks together.
VardaValar1: Arien is being aided in her class quest in LotRO right now, so she'll be a bit quiet.
VardaValar1: afk
VardaValar1: back
EonweValar: WB
VardaValar1: Hantal :-)
VardaValar1: I'm in Vent with the LotRO crowd.

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: It's a bit tricky to figure out the Membership page, who to drop for inactivity, due to the MMO's.
VardaValar1: Some of our folks have a lot of names (Beorn, for example) on their characters and can't change them if they return with a new name.
VardaValar1: I'll work out something. :-)
VardaValar1: The example of Beorn, he was given 2 years off to start up his business, but it's now been 3 years of no contact.
VardaValar1: So does he count as 3 or 2 years? :-)
VardaValar1: er 1 year
VardaValar1: I'm seriously considering returning to the 1 year inactivity mark.
VardaValar1: Any contact is enough: forum, email, anything to stay in. That's not really asking too much.
EonweValar: Considering everyone who has an e-mail for us gets a GSMU letter, I'd say a year is fair for the majority.
EonweValar: Beorn's case, if he asked for those two years, got it and more.
VardaValar1: True
VardaValar1: All the Tolkien-onlies have already been moved off the Membership page to the Credits for the Tolkien Site.
VardaValar1: Next will be removing folks who have had zero contact for one year, unless they have special circumstances like military service or illness.
VardaValar1: Comments are welcome and may be emailed to Varda.

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: We need to put up Hobbit-related articles, a book badly under-represented, as interest should go up with the movie.
karakedi25 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: The Hobbit is also required reading in some classes.
VardaValar1: Aiya Indis
VardaValar1: Any other web news?
EonweValar: Something always in the works with me, hehe.
karakedi25: aiya
VardaValar1: That turbine point name change option could be quite handy. :-)
VardaValar1: True, you do a ton behind the scenes, Eonwe. :-)   Thank you!

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: In non-WoW, non-LotRO gaming,
VardaValar1: Sauron has been playing Civilization 4.
VardaValar1: Fangorn and I played StarCraft/BroodWar
VardaValar1: Bilbo plays all sorts of stuff. : )
VardaValar1: Anyone else?
VardaValar1: I need to get with Arien to invite my StarWars character to the guild sometime. : )
EonweValar: Blizzard released a new Single-Player mod.
EonweValar: *For Starcraft 2.
EonweValar: Called Starcraft Master.
VardaValar1: Interesting
EonweValar: It's pretty much alot of micromanagement controls for units.
EonweValar: For more info: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/4544198/StarCraft_Master_is_Now_Live-3_2_2012#blog
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe :-)

VardaValar1: Eonwe, did you have a WoW report?
EonweValar: Not a big one.
EonweValar: First, Darkmoon Faire is over once again.
EonweValar: It'll be back the first full week of April.
EonweValar: Sunday Run: Called due to not enough people on at go time.
EonweValar: Friday Run: I unfortunately missed this Friday. I'm told Varda and BIlbo did some duoing, so I'll let Varda fill in the details fro mthere.
VardaValar1: We duoed in Northrend, did a ton of quests. We were there early and stayed for hours.
VardaValar1: Others came in also.
VardaValar1: Bilbo, Elwing, Eonwe, Eowyn, Fangorn, Sauron, and Varda, and guild-friends Schlep and Kaz.
VardaValar1: Strike that, wrong list. :-)
VardaValar1: Elwing, Eonwe, Eowyn, Glorfindel, and guild-friend Schlep.
VardaValar1: End report

VardaValar1: LotRO:
VardaValar1: The reports are on the News mostly, although some need help from reporters for times I wasn't there.
VardaValar1: Monday skirmishes were Breaching the Necromancer's Gate 12-man done with 8 of us, and Trouble in Tuckborough 6-man.
VardaValar1: Wednesday Three 6-mans: Prancing Pony, Way of the Smiths, and Battle in the Tower.
VardaValar1: Saturday morning all three Helegrod wings were completed: Spiders, Drakes, and Giants.
VardaValar1: After a one-hour break, we then tackled Draigoch.
VardaValar1: Being a bit undermanned we called in help from some non-guild folk. We did pretty well but did not complete it.
VardaValar1: This morning we did the Helegrod Drake wing and are currently running a group in Helegrod for class questing and deeds.
VardaValar1: The big thing in LotRO news is that Monday we have Update 6
VardaValar1: It adds more area for the area of Rohan, more instances, and raised the trait cap to 14, among other things.
VardaValar1: We've been busy deeding to be ready for the increased trait cap.
AriehnV: Getting to the last section now
VardaValar1: Is there any further business, suggestion, or comment?
VardaValar1: Have fun Arien and Indis. :-)

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: We need to be considering what we would like to add concerning the Hobbit for our Tolkien Site.
VardaValar1: Any suggestions for what we would like to see?
VardaValar1: A list of major events? Characters and places?
VardaValar1: I'm trying for a slightly organized way of coming up with articles. Major events seemed like one way.
EonweValar: Anything that can go in an Encyclopedia article as an Encyclopedia article would be good I'd say. I'm nto sure a list of events in the book is necessary except as a list of major events of the Third Age or in the life of the characters.
VardaValar1: A kind of time-line.
VardaValar1: ok
VardaValar1: Any further comment?
EonweValar: More specifically, I'm not sure I'd make a page of "Major events in The Hobbit".
VardaValar1: I was thinking more of a time-line.
VardaValar1: Arveleg doesn't seem to be updating the timeline page anymore, so maybe an addendum to that could be considered, not just Hobbit that I'm talking about here. : )
VardaValar1: That's food for thought, at least.
VardaValar1: Any other comments?
VardaValar1: If not, since only two of us are active in this chat,
VardaValar1: *swings gavel*
VardaValar1: *thonk*
VardaValar1: After-meeting
VardaValar1: Namarie for now.
EonweValar: Take care and have fun.
VardaValar1: See you in WoW
EonweValar: Looks like there's a new update for AIM btw.
VardaValar1: aye
VardaValar1: I'll be getting it in a bit, thanks for the reminder. :-)
VardaValar1: Working on the transcript
karakedi25 has left the room.
galdorandwe has entered the room.
galdorandwe: Aiya
VardaValar1: Welcome to After-meeting :-)
galdorandwe: Just got home from buying a sweet bass guitar....the one I was telling you about last night. Pics are on FB
VardaValar1: Huzzah!
VardaValar1: Congratulations. :-)
galdorandwe: Thanks.
galdorandwe: Still a bit excited about it
ArPharazon-V (ArPharazonV) has entered the room.
ArPharazon-V: Aw heck, totally missed meeting time due to pvp
ArPharazon-V: Did I miss any news?
VardaValar1: Time change too :-)
ArPharazon-V: ...you're kidding
ArPharazon-V: I'm an hour late?
VardaValar1: Mainly that with the Hobbit upcoming, we should update our Tolkien Site with more on Hobbit-related items.
VardaValar1: Lots of confusion today. : )
ArPharazon-V: What a day to have my AIM turned off.
VardaValar1: hehe
ArPharazon-V: Gonna be a lot of transcript reading. Are we in Tolkien yet?
VardaValar1: Galdor got a super-duper new bass guitar. : )
galdorandwe: Maha and I spoke thismorning, she and Irm were unaware the change was happening last night and wanted to make sure people who were planning to attend the Hele run today came at the right time.
VardaValar1: We're in After-meeting
ArPharazon-V: *curses*
ArPharazon-V: What was Tolkien about?
VardaValar1: aye, and got an hour the wrong way
VardaValar1: Only two people active, so it was that we needed more articles related to the Hobbit, since that's what people will be searching due to the upcoming movie.
ArPharazon-V: Hmm. Fair enough. Any gaming news?
ArPharazon-V: Or should I just wait for a transcript?
VardaValar1: I'm working on it now. Not as clean as one of yours, so tidying up the html
ArPharazon-V: Allright. Let me know when it's up.
VardaValar1: If you have a topic, we could have an after-meeting chat.
galdorandwe: I have a Tolkien question.
VardaValar1: Pretty much nothing more new than what I mentioned.
ArPharazon-V: Not really. I mostly rely on you people ;)
fladrifv has entered the room.
VardaValar1: I'm not going to be here much. Doing the transcript and WoW group forming.
VardaValar1: Ask away
fladrifv: hum boom summer time?
VardaValar1: Time change, aye. In After-meeting.
ArPharazon-V: I only just arrived as well.

galdorandwe: How much of Saruman's "relationship" with the birds was Radagast's doing? In the FotR, when he and Gandalf meet, Gandalf asks him to have his animal friends assist Saruman and Gandalf somehow. Just curious. It seems like a logical explanation, but I wanted your thoughts.
ArPharazon-V: You mean the crebain?
VardaValar1: Chances are, Radagast was doing his part for the Istari, as he innocently did later. Good comment.
VardaValar1: Maybe gave Saruman a way to get some help from critters.
ArPharazon-V: While Saruman was using Radagast as a tool, of sorts, I doubt he mediated between Saruman and the crebain at any point. Probably just showed him a way, yeah.
VardaValar1: Saruman wouldn't want to give away that he was a traitor.
galdorandwe: It just seemed to make sense to me. Thanks for the feedback.

ArPharazon-V: Hmm. Looks like our DST is on the 25th.
ArPharazon-V: Will have to remember to come in early next week as well.
VardaValar1: It's 2 weeks apart, right.
ArPharazon-V: I'll be sending you an aftermeeting transcript too, btw, feel free to add it at some point, if we're still discussing stuff (like the topic just now)
VardaValar1: Thank you. :-)
ArPharazon-V: I'm sure you've got everything up to my arrival anyway :)
ArPharazon-V: Oh, gaming news, we got Heroic Ultraxion tonight ;)
VardaValar1: I'm still adding as we speak. : )
VardaValar1: Cool
VardaValar1: Don't guess you've had time to try it yet?
ArPharazon-V: And I did some flashgames. Some boring stuff, some weird stuff, some games I'd already seen on other sites... a weird pizza-baking game where you  have to run a shop, which was interesting, though I couldn't be bothered to play after a day or two
ArPharazon-V: hm?
ArPharazon-V: We killed him tonight.
VardaValar1: o pardon, misread.
ArPharazon-V: Oh! I got an authenticator this week, finally gave in to the paranoia of having my account hacked.
VardaValar1: A good idea. Sure a lot of it going on.
ArPharazon-V: After a raid-colleague of mine and a guildy of mine got hacked in the same week, it just felt too close to home
ArPharazon-V: Bought it on wednesday, delivery time was expected to be 5-10 days, got it in 3. That was a pleasant surprise.
VardaValar1: Nice :-)
