Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Darn AIM made me upgrade.
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
Eonwe Valar: Heya.
ArPharazonV: Mine's still fine in the old version :-)
Eonwe Valar: Well, they didn't change much, but still annoying to have it shoved down my throat since the first thing it did was activate the "auto signin" checkbox.
Eonwe Valar: And enlarge my buddy list window...
Eonwe Valar: So now I get to dig through stuff I had set up just fine just to reset some features and hopefully shrink this monstrosity of a buddy window.
ArPharazonV: Heh.
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, I can complain later :}
Eonwe Valar: If it's just going to be you and me, this is going to be a very quick meeting, hehe.
ArPharazonV: well I see Pallando online, but nobody else, anyway
Eonwe Valar: Gwaihir has an invite from me already.
ArPharazonV: and Pallando's on an auto-decline.
Eonwe Valar: I suspect Indis and/or Arien will pop in as we go.
ArPharazonV: Where's Varda? Any idea?
Eonwe Valar: She and Fangorn are visiting Eowyn.
ArPharazonV: Aha.
Eonwe Valar: OK, let's go ahead and begin.
top

Eonwe Valar: Elen Sila Lumenn Omentielvo!
Eonwe Valar: Membership:
Eonwe Valar: Varda and Fangorn are off to vist Eowyn, as mentioned.
Eonwe Valar: We also have a new member, Nar.
ArPharazonV: Welcome to Nar
Eonwe Valar: He's the husband of Branwyn-(T), and joined us in LotRO.
AriehnV has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Heya Arien :}
AriehnV: yo Eonwe :-)
AriehnV: aiya Phara

Eonwe Valar: We're just getting started, so you haven't missed much :}
Eonwe Valar: Did AIM force you to update as well?
AriehnV: hehe i see that i was still finishing of an instance
ArPharazonV: Aiya :-)
AriehnV: aye i had to do that a few days ago
AriehnV: cant say i particarly like this look
Eonwe Valar: I'm not a fan either.
Eonwe Valar: The stuff in the Buddy window is too big. I liked it smaller, more condensed.
AriehnV: maybe its time to change chat program
Eonwe Valar: I don't know if we're going to go that far just yet.
ArPharazonV: Maybe it's time to downgrade :-)
Eonwe Valar: Hehe, that's more likely.
ArPharazonV: 5.9 still working fine, despite the update window every few weeks, I always say "update later"
Eonwe Valar: Makes me wonder if I still have a copy of 5.9 somewhere in my stuff.
ArPharazonV: which one are you on now? 8 or so?
Eonwe Valar: I have no idea.
Eonwe Valar: The version number isn't even in the "About AIM" vindow anymore.
Eonwe Valar: *window
Eonwe Valar: Nevermind, I found it, heh.
ArPharazonV: :-)
Eonwe Valar: 7.5.8.2
ArPharazonV: aha
Eonwe Valar: As of this current update which was thrust upon us.
ArPharazonV: 5.9.6089 here
ArPharazonV: I think I tried 7 at some point. Didn't like it.
Eonwe Valar: OK, well on with the meeting :} Either of you have member news?
Eonwe Valar: Guess not :}
Eonwe Valar: Tolkien:
top

Eonwe Valar: Er, not Tolkien, Web :}
Eonwe Valar: Was thinking Tolkien Site, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: Either way, nothing to report under Web this week.

Eonwe Valar: Gaming:
Eonwe Valar: LotRO:
Eonwe Valar: Monday run: Sixteenth Hall
Eonwe Valar: Got some class quests done.
Eonwe Valar: Report from the News Page:
Eonwe Valar: "The main objective of class questing was completed. We continued for fun but we failed hard mode on the boss and couldn't go back for quest mode on the boss due to lack of time. We completed the burglar and rune-keeper class quests for Ulmo and Gildor respectively, picked up some Medallions of Moria, completed a batch of quests clogging our lists, and completed or progressed on deeds. Participants: Eonwe (champion Auros), Gildor (58 rune-keeper Lirafalla), Nimrodel (champion CynthiaJane), Pippin (warden Illiardo), Ulmo (burglar Ylmir), and Varda (60 minstrel Tinwetari)."
Eonwe Valar: Wednesday run: From my understanding just a couple of small runs happened.
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: aiya
Eonwe Valar: Heya Indis.
AriehnV: aiya Indis :-)
Eonwe Valar: We're in Gaming, just finishing up LotRO. Did you have anything you can add about the Wednesday run?
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
karakedi25: it was just 3 of us (things got started late). Pippin, Maedhroc, and I did the Library of Tham Mirdain. Good learning experience; it's a fairly tough little instance.
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
karakedi25: Other than that, people are preparing for the big update to take place in a few weeks.
karakedi25: Varda hasn't been around--do you know what's happened to her?
Eonwe Valar: Varda and Fangorn went to visit Eowyn.
ArPharazonV: Not a sentence you expect to hear in LotR.
AriehnV: let me add that Miriel made a few items for my freshly 35 dinged hunter and i levelled the burglars tinkering to expert level so she use superior work benches and do artisan recipes :-)
Eonwe Valar: congrats Arien :}
AriehnV: hehe thats some visitor's party .. an Ent, a Valar at a human queen's residence *gg* , altho i think that they d like it in ithilen
Eonwe Valar: :}
AriehnV: its quite funny that my small warden is scrambling about in an area where some silver is abundant which the tinker needs for making white gold
AriehnV: so the wee one provides the big one ^^
Eonwe Valar: Hehe.

Eonwe Valar: Ok, let's move on to WoW :}
Eonwe Valar: Lothar:
Eonwe Valar: Last Sunday we got got guild credit for several old instances.
Eonwe Valar: Participants in the dungeon runs were:
Eonwe Valar: Eonwe, Bilbo, Varda, Menelvagor, Sauron, and Eowyn. (Various combos for different groups of runs)
AriehnV: cute nice :-)
Eonwe Valar: We were running WotLK dungeons for the guild credit and for Glory of the Hero achievements.
Eonwe Valar: First, Eonwe, Bilbo, Varda, Menelvagor, and Sauron cleared out Culling of Stratholme. Unfortunately, we didn't get Zombiefest this time, but we'll get it next time. Menel had to go near the end.
AriehnV: is that still bugged?
Eonwe Valar: Then, Eonwe, Bilbo, Varda, and Sauron cleared out Gundrak, Azjol Nerub, Halls of Stone, and Occulus. For various people, we completed "Lessrabi", "Good Grief", "Brann Spankin' New", "Abuse the Ooze", "Snakes. Why'd it Have To Be Snakes?", "What the Eck?", "Emerald Void", and "Ruby Void." Varda also picked up "Northrend Dungeonmaster."
AriehnV: i mean do you still have to pull from both sides?
ArPharazonV: That's not a bug, really.
ArPharazonV: Just the mechanic.
Eonwe Valar: Eonwe, Varda, and Bilbo then went into Ahn'Kahet and got "Respect Your Elders" and "Volazj's Quick Demise."
ArPharazonV: There's not enough zombies in the first part.
Eonwe Valar: Finally, Eonwe, Bilbo, Varda, and Eowyn went through the Frozen Halls instances, clearing out the Forge of Souls, Pit of Saron, and Halls of Reflection consecutively. Along the way, we completed "Doesn't Go To Eleven" and "We're Not Retreating; We're Advancing in a Different Direction."
Eonwe Valar: And that's where we ended the run :}
AriehnV: nice :-)
Eonwe Valar: Bofur and Nob were also on, and while we weren't able to get guild credit for it, they successfully 2-manned Karazhan after going through the grueling task of completing the quest chain to get the Master's Key.
AriehnV: i ve completed the elder achievement on the pali on AD btw .. elder Justicia now :-)
AriehnV: congrats
ArPharazonV: congrats to you :-)
Eonwe Valar: On another note, I expect to be Exalted with the guild tonight, if I get to my dailies :}

Eonwe Valar: Starcraft 2:
Eonwe Valar: Patch 1.2.1 came out this week, and was then followed by patch 1.2.2, which was considerably smaller.
ArPharazonV: 1.2.2 was just to fix 1.2.1 bug of savegames :-)
Eonwe Valar: Aye :}
ArPharazonV: I actually played Starcraft II yesterday for the first time since October 15, so had to download like 4-5 patches in a row.
Eonwe Valar: Hehe.
Eonwe Valar: OK, any other gaming news from anyone before we move on to Tolkien?
ArPharazonV: Was planning on doing a campaign mission, but ended up in a custom game, hero defense style.
ArPharazonV: Don't know if you know it, but here it ranked highest in popularity below the Blizzard maps, among custom maps.
ArPharazonV: Think I'll go for more of that after the meeting :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}

ArPharazonV: Besides that, I showed up in Guild Wars just to let people know I was still alive, and got a few silver medals on Tasty Planet 2, which I have described in the last month or so in this meeting.

ArPharazonV: Nothing more from me! Well, I really got into archeology in WoW, but nothing more.
Eonwe Valar: Speaking of WoW one more time, make sure you're finishing up your "Love is in the Air" stuff :}
Eonwe Valar: If it's not already done :}
Eonwe Valar: "It" being the event.
ArPharazonV: Already got all those 2 years ago, but I have been visiting the 3 apothecary bosses daily, just in case they had something I didn't already own
ArPharazonV: but besides the necklaces, nothing new :-)
Eonwe Valar: Eh, I still haven't got the mount or the pet. Which reminds me, hehe.
AriehnV: aye got a necklace there too .. i got fishing pet btw
AriehnV: a crab :-)
ArPharazonV: Oh, right, mount. Yeah, didn't get that either. I got the pet, the rose and the fumigator's mask last year though.
Eonwe Valar: I did pick up Mountain o'Mounts this week, with number 99 being the Drake of the East Wind, and 100 being Kael'thas' Swift White Hawkstrider :}
ArPharazonV: oh, grats!
AriehnV: nice nice
Eonwe Valar: Congrats on getting the fishing pet, Arien :}
Eonwe Valar: OK, if that's it for gaming news, then let's move on to Tolkien :}
ArPharazonV: speaking of pets, got the skeletal raptor hatchling this week :-)
ArPharazonV: from archeology
Eonwe Valar: Congrats :}
Eonwe Valar: If have that as well. Thought I was getting a second a couple of weeks ago, and ended up with the mount :}
Eonwe Valar: Amusing look to a mount, but bounces a bit much for my taste :}
ArPharazonV: I did some research into archeology (I always plan these things ahead as much as I can) and it seems you can only get each rare artefact once.
ArPharazonV: So no second pet for you!
Eonwe Valar: Oh good. I would hate to make something I can't get rid of, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: If it were BoA, that's great. If it's not, better I don't have more than one.
top

Eonwe Valar: OK, I found my Tolkien quote, so....
Eonwe Valar: Tolkien:
ArPharazonV: Aye. In any case, consider yourself warned: if you get rid of some of the BoP blue items with silly effects, you're not getting it back
Eonwe Valar: "At that moment Elrond came out with Gandalf, and he called the Company to him.
Eonwe Valar: 'This is my last word,' he said in a low voice. 'The Ring-bearer is setting out on the Quest of Mount Doom. On him alone is any charge laid; neither to cast away the Ring, nor to deliver it to any servant of the Enemy nor indeed to let any handle it, save members of the Company and the Council, and only then in gravest need.
Eonwe Valar: The others go with him as free companions, to help him on his way. You may tarry, or come back, or turn aside into other paths, as chance allows. The further you go, the less easy will it be to withdraw; yet no oath or bond is laid on you to go further than you will. For you do not yet know the strength of your hearts, and you cannot foresee what each may meet upon the road.'
Eonwe Valar: 'Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens,' said Gimli.
Eonwe Valar: 'Maybe,' said Elrond, 'but let him not vow to walk in the dark, who has not seen the nightfall.'
Eonwe Valar: 'Yet sworn word may strengthen quaking heart,' said Gimli.
Eonwe Valar: 'Or break it,' said Elrond. 'Look not too far ahead! But go now with good hearts! Farewell, and may the blessing of Elves and Men and all Free Folk go with you. May the stars shine upon your faces!'"
Eonwe Valar: Whenever I think about it, I find it amusing that Gimli has the audacity to stand there and trade proverbs with arguably the greatest loremaster alive in Middle-Earth at the time :}
AriehnV: you know .. Frodo actually never broke his word .. he never gave the ring to the enemy or threw it away
ArPharazonV: and let only Sam handle it in the gravest need :-)
AriehnV: it just struck me .. apart from when he offered it to Galadriel out of his own free will and when sam took it in Shelob's lair
ArPharazonV: Well, Sam's use was allowed in the charge Elrond gave him.
ArPharazonV: Galadriel's the only exception.
AriehnV: even when it came to the end he actually didnt "throw it away"
ArPharazonV: hehe
ArPharazonV: He let Gollum handle it though!
Eonwe Valar: Not so much "let" as "he bit my finger off" :}
AriehnV: aye who originally was a hobbit .. and it got rather too hot for him "dry"
Eonwe Valar: Galadriel, while maybe not at the Council of Elrond, was a member of the White Council.
AriehnV: reminds me a bit of one of my favourite runrig songs and lines
AriehnV: "May your hearts hold true and your nights run long"
AriehnV: oops singular of course .. "May your heart hold true and your nights run long"
Eonwe Valar: I figured it was addressed to multiple people, hehe.
Eonwe Valar: No other comments on the quoted passage?
ArPharazonV: Gimli's his stubborn self
Eonwe Valar: Well then, we might as well end on this note: "A plague on the stiff necks of Dwarves!" :}
Eonwe Valar: *bangs gavel*
top

Eonwe Valar: Aftermeeting :}
Eonwe Valar: Everyone's free to go about their business :}
AriehnV: :-)
ArPharazonV: Well, doing some SCII then, unfortunately I think only Europeans can join me at the moment
ArPharazonV: Do you play Starcraft II, Arien?
AriehnV: nope altho i was looking at it
AriehnV: in the store
AriehnV: its quite expensive to buy
Eonwe Valar: Aye, it's still quite new.
AriehnV: maybe i ll get it in a few months ^^
Eonwe Valar: Standard price for a new game in the US is about $60.
ArPharazonV: been 6 months or so now, no?
AriehnV: 28 pounds at amazon
Eonwe Valar: Eh, about 6 month. still pretty new.
Eonwe Valar: *months
karakedi25: take care, all--namarie
karakedi25 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Take care Indis.
AriehnV: namarie Indis
ArPharazonV: Too late..
Eonwe Valar: She moved quick, hehe.
ArPharazonV: in WoW we used to call people like that "ninjaloggers" :-) Quite a challenge to get a goodbye in before they leave!
Eonwe Valar: hehe
AriehnV: never heard that one before ^^
Eonwe Valar: Sounds familiar, and fitting, hehe.
AriehnV: talking about which .. i ve given up on heroics :-( just dont get a decent group and as healer i think you need a bout 100 k mana
AriehnV: just cant get there as i cant afford enchants and gems
ArPharazonV: I haven't done many myself lately. With a raid most evenings, and all the daily quests I'm trying to do on a daily basis, there's not much time left except a few minutes for archeology.
Eonwe Valar: I have my own enchanter, move him up just enough to get him to the next enchanting tier, then don't bother levelling him afterward, hehe.
AriehnV: ^^ the wee worgen is enchanter but she has waay to go
AriehnV: weel she aint that wee anymore
AriehnV: 41
Eonwe Valar: I have a few pieces of heriloom gear and the 10% guild exp buff to help :}
ArPharazonV: medium-wee then!
Eonwe Valar: Well, recently I do. Just the heirloom gear before.
Eonwe Valar: and byu recently, I mean a month or two :}
AriehnV: *grins"
ArPharazonV: as for not being able to afford enchants and gems, it should come, in time... do a few daily quests here and there and the money pours in
ArPharazonV: as long as you finish each day with a profit, it's only a matter of time!
Eonwe Valar: Aye, dailies really help the money roll in.
AriehnV: aye
ArPharazonV: Also go for random normal instances if you can't do heroics. You'll still get gold, and justice points, I think.
Eonwe Valar: Aye, Justice points.
Eonwe Valar: They doubled the reward to 140 for the daily.
ArPharazonV: That's pretty good.
ArPharazonV: Well, "afk" for a bit, gonna do that custom map I talked about
AriehnV: oki do :-)
AriehnV: have fun
ArPharazonV: thanks :-)
Eonwe Valar: Have fun :}
Eonwe Valar: I'm busy seeing what I can do to get AIM looking more like how I want it.
Eonwe Valar: Well, turning off the buddy icons in my buddy list helps.
Eonwe Valar: I really should go through my buddy list oo.
Eonwe Valar: *too
Eonwe Valar: Do me a favor, Phar. When you send the meeting transcript, send a copy to me as well just in case.
ArPharazonV: Sure, will do.
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
Eonwe Valar: Well, just got the Toxis Wasteling.
ArPharazonV: grats!
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
ArPharazonV: He eats critters, btw. Really funny.
Eonwe Valar: Hehe. I'll have to try it out.
ArPharazonV: For the first 5 he eats, he grows, then he's maximum size.
AriehnV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Saving and sending transcript
