VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: LotRO:
AriehnV: aiya there
VardaValar1: Monday we ran Book 5 which is mostly solo, and set ourselves up for the new instances at the pipes. Then we started into the new 3-mans.
VardaValar1: A couple of groups completed Fangorn's Edge, and some tried the Pits
VardaValar1: The instance finder seemed a bit buggy, perhaps. It is still very new and under construction.
VardaValar1: Miriel gave suggestions base on running the 3-mans in the day, now on the News.
VardaValar1: Wednesday we took a look at the 6-man, planning only on getting the first boss, which we did. Then we got a look at the second boss, tough one. We'll have to try that again when we have more time. :-)
VardaValar1: That's all my LotRO news, as I've had to cede my computer most of the time to others.
VardaValar1: Any other LotRO news?
[Note: Saturday we probably had a run. Report needed.]
Eonwe Valar: Back.
VardaValar1: Welcome back
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
VardaValar1: From Galdor in a side window:
VardaValar1: galdorandwe: Ran the Dragon Raid this AM with my Champ. Nim brought CJ. It's gotten MUCH easier since the update, but still requires someone who knows it like the back of their hand to complete it in a manageable amount of time.

VardaValar1: Eonwe, do you have a WoW report?
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
Eonwe Valar: First, The Feast of Winterveil has started this week.
Eonwe Valar: The Greench and Rescue Metzen quests have been updated and mearged into a single daily, and the Greench has been working out since last year.
ArPharazonV: Couldn't solo him :-(
Eonwe Valar: In theory he can be solo'd but in practice he takes about a full group to bring down. the upside is the daily connected to dealing with him is worth 24 Justice Points, just like the Holiday bosses you access through the Dungeon Finder for other holidays.
Eonwe Valar: *usually takes about a full group
VardaValar1: Sounds fairer, since he's a holiday boss
ArPharazonV: He hits quite hard, so if you want to solo him, some sort of pet is advisable ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Luckily someone is usually around trying to bring him down, so chances are if you're on during normal server hours, you won't have to solo him.
Eonwe Valar: If you see a bunch of bags around his cave, that means someone just defeated him and you can loot the bag to get quest credit (and don't forget to talk to Metzen the Reindeer).
Eonwe Valar: He has a respawn timer of about 7 minutes.
Eonwe Valar: WoW runs:
Eonwe Valar: Lothar:
Eonwe Valar: Sunday:
Eonwe Valar: Participants: Eonwë, Glorfindel, Eowyn, ElwingEonwë, Glorfindel, and Eowyn ran Lower- and Upper- Blackrock Spire, and then were joined by Elwing for Auchenai Crypts. Afterwards, we ran Mana Tombs. Eonwe had to start preparing to wrap up for the night, but the remaining three pushed on and cleared Shadow Labyrinth before doing likewise.
Eonwe Valar: Friday:
Eonwe Valar: Unfortunately I missed this week, but it looks like alot were on, so I imagine some fun was had by some of them.
VardaValar1: Bunch of random dungeons
VardaValar1: We had a full group most of the time, but after Sauron went to bed, pugged the last spot
VardaValar1: Glorfindel was on doing Battlegrounds and leveled. We gave a cheer. :-)
VardaValar1: Part of the time I was on. Part of the time gave over my comp since we have a full house of gamers right now, all Valarites.
VardaValar1: oh, and we're guild level 15 now
Eonwe Valar: Aye, shame on me for not mentioning that :}
ArPharazonV: grats :-)
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe
VardaValar1: Any further WoW or LotRO news?
ArPharazonV: Tried Raidfinder for the first time this week. [Note: He's referring toWoW. Also a new raid finder in LotRO, just starting out, many more features to be added later.]
ArPharazonV: Less trouble with pugs than I expected! Good source of experience for the real thing, as well.
VardaValar1: Cool :-)
Eonwe Valar: I tried it last and this week. Reminds me why I like the idea of 10-man raids, heh.
ArPharazonV: Too much for the same loot? ;-)
Eonwe Valar: No, too many people, too many cooks, and too many spells going off at the same time making it hard to see stuff sometimes.
ArPharazonV: ah yes
VardaValar1: Take a big group from your guild along with the raid. ^^
VardaValar1: Settles it a bit

VardaValar1: Any non-WoW, non-LotRO news?
VardaValar1: BroodWar partying at my house too. :-)
VardaValar1: DC Universe, SC2 for Bilbo and Sauron
ArPharazonV: More upgrade flashgames, found sites with entire lists of them. But most of them appear to be defense or launch games, so gets boring after a bit :-)
VardaValar1: Ok, all the talk seems to be in side windows. Let's move on to
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien!
VardaValar1: At this point the gavel really must go to Eonwe.
VardaValar1: I cannot give it the proper attention.
[Note: During the meeting Varda was also healing and fighting in WoW, but it got very lively in-game about the time of the Tolkien topic and she could not give proper attention. Thanks, Eonwe!]
Eonwe Valar: Do we have a Tolkien Topic?
Eonwe Valar: Any suggestions for a topic, or do you get one of mine? :}
VardaValar1: Yours are usually good. :-)
AriehnV: sneaked halfway to lvl 46 on the burglar in lotro ^^
AriehnV: sorry was a bit afk halfways
AriehnV: and grats to level 15 in wow :-)
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
Eonwe Valar: OK, seems no one has a TOlkien Topic, so you're stuck with the one I have for tonight :}
Eonwe Valar: And my Tolkien Topic is... *drumroll*
Eonwe Valar: The RP: Last call for names, last chance to think of any. Does anyone have any final ideas for the new arc's name before we seek to finalize the name itself?
AriehnV: i put in a couple of suggestions and had named my favorite
AriehnV: else i d also favour .. Into the Dark or just Angmar bound
ArPharazonV: In the Mountains!
Eonwe Valar: I was considering if something that sounded somewhat Arthurian might be a good name, given this is the North Kingdom, and the return of a king to the Numenorean realms is something of an Arthurian theme.
Eonwe Valar: I realize we're dealign with Angmar, and not Arnor here, so something of a,.. subverted Arthurian reference? Not sure "subverted" is the word I want, but hopefully it gives at least an idea.
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, just something I was thinking about, as I was pondering the best name for the arc :}
Eonwe Valar: So, we have for a list of names:
Eonwe Valar: Sorcery in the NorthThe Morgul StaffStirring in the NorthThe Desolation of AngmarThe Derelict Realm
Eonwe Valar: Also, "Into the Dark" and "Angmar Bound."
Eonwe Valar: I
Eonwe Valar: I'm not sure we've found the "sweet spot" for a name just yet, but we shouldn't wait forever just to find "the perfect name" I suppose :}
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
VardaValar1: and crash
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: OK, I was disconnected. What'd I miss?
VardaValar1: If we're going to make the staff the source of the way the problem sneaked into the area , that would be a good title.
VardaValar1: Nothing, Eonwe. We waited
ArPharazonV: Eonwe Valar has left the room.VardaValar1: and crashEonwe Valar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: ok.
VardaValar1: Say, a goblin pulled it out from under the ruins, and it released the evil. Or a dwarf did. That might be what Haran's group was having trouble over?
VardaValar1: Would close a loose end
Eonwe Valar: Aye, I generally favor a name either descriptive of our mission/goal, or descriptive of the last we're travelling to, without necessarily directly referencing the land.
Eonwe Valar: Hmm?
Eonwe Valar: My "Aye" was to about the title.
Eonwe Valar: *descriptive of the last we're travelling to.
Eonwe Valar: er, land.
ArPharazonV: descriptive of the goal, hm? So something like "Looking North" would be good?
Eonwe Valar: By goal, I mean, dealing with the staff, as the primary goal of most of the group.
ArPharazonV: Allright.
Eonwe Valar: By "descriptive of the land, I means something like "The Desolation of Angmar" and "The Derelict Realm."
VardaValar1: We're not just looking north, we're going north and doing a mission there.
ArPharazonV: Well, we're mostly investigating North, which was what I meant
Eonwe Valar: Well, I suppose it could be considered "investigating," but the focus of investigation is rather specific, as it's primarily dealing with the staff.
VardaValar1: We have an actual mission this time, not just scouting, don't we? We have to stop what's attacking Mirkwood and reclaim or kill the brother.
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
Eonwe Valar: Mission: Angmar? :}
VardaValar1: heh
ArPharazonV: Catch that staff!
Eonwe Valar: Spy Elves :}
AriehnV: Mission: Angmar .. or Angmar bound
Eonwe Valar: Mission:Angmar was a joke, in reference to Mission:Impossible :}
AriehnV: Angmar Bound would fit ur idea of desciptive and would give a hint to some binding to the staff or even the binding of Calaron
AriehnV: bit tounge in cheek :-)
Eonwe Valar: Bah, I need to go afk for a sec. Keep wracking your brains just a little longer please, as I want to set a final list tonight, give a couple weeks for everyone to weigh in, and we'll pick up with the new arc not long after the first of the year :}
VardaValar1: Arien, nice word play there
VardaValar1: Angmar Bound is actually pretty good for the title. I wonder if we'll need to bind the staff some way before we can destroy it? That would be part of Meren's research.
VardaValar1: Maybe need to put things in a perimeter, dust or whatever, close the circle, and keep the circle intact as we build it, despite attacks on it.
VardaValar1: and strong winds. ^^
ArPharazonV: maintaining a perimeter of dust in a strong wind? that sounds challenging :-)
VardaValar1: Aye :-)
VardaValar1: Glue it with mud? Put it under rocks and in holes? Could be entertaining.
VardaValar1: That way we're fighting more than the villains, plus our characters have to be creative. They would also face the problem on their part of the perimeter with different approaches, if we have to split up. (Never split the party!)
VardaValar1: or if we stay together like an intelligent group, part would be defending, and part would be putting down the binder.
VardaValar1: Then of course there's lag time... ;-)
VardaValar1: The toughest part will be confronting the possessed brother.
VardaValar1: He may be required to keep the staff operational or at least the possessor is.
ArPharazonV: I have plans for that. Even an outcome. Though the exact way is not set in stone ;-)
VardaValar1: Good, but guidelines can be handy to get us moving. :-)
VardaValar1: and then it rains...
VardaValar1: We have to get the job done before the circle washes away!
Eonwe Valar: back.
Eonwe Valar: OK, so the final list is:
Eonwe Valar: Sorcery in the North, The Morgul Staff, Stirring in the North, The Desolation of Angmar, The Derelict Realm, Angmar Bound, Into the Dark
Eonwe Valar: Any objections/last minute additions?
Eonwe Valar: Going once...
ArPharazonV: List approved by me.
Eonwe Valar: Going twice.
VardaValar1: :-)
Eonwe Valar: THanks Phar :}
VardaValar1: Nice list
Eonwe Valar: OK, list Finalized.
VardaValar1: We need to pick one so we can get started.
Eonwe Valar: I've updated it on the forum this very minute, and I'm posting now for the Rpers to cast their vote.
VardaValar1: Thanks. Also be interesting if we can get any reader comment.
Eonwe Valar: January 31st is the deadline, but if everyone weighs in sooner, I'll set up the new board sooner.
VardaValar1: Be nice to think someone's reading it. But the rp'ers are the ones who should have the best idea which covers our needs best.
Eonwe Valar: I'd like to think those thousand+ reads of each section aren't merely we RPers reading it :}
ArPharazonV: Dunno, we might be doing a lot of rereading
Eonwe Valar: Aye, we do, but we still can't be the only ones reading it :}
VardaValar1: bots ;-)
VardaValar1: j/k because all the threads would have that many reads too.
VardaValar1: The title needs to feel specific to our story, rather than feeling like it could cover dozens of others.
ArPharazonV: Then Into the Dark sounds a bit generic.
VardaValar1: We did go into Mirkwood, the dark forest already
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
Eonwe Valar: I'll make my vote later in the week.
Eonwe Valar: Let's go ahead and bang the gavel here.
Eonwe Valar: *Raises gavel above his head*
Eonwe Valar: *Brings gavel crashing down, the definitive sound of the end of the meeting echoing across Arda*
Eonwe Valar: *Bang*
top

Eonwe Valar: After meeting :}
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: As always, Menel is just too late to miss the gavel :-)
ArPharazonV: ehrr you know what I mean
Eonwe Valar: He probably heard the gavel crash down, and knew it was time to walk in :}
Eonwe Valar: Heya Menel :}
Menelvagor Valar: You mean I am, as always, just on time to miss the gavel ^^
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya :-)
Eonwe Valar: The list of names for the next arc ofthe RP is set.
Eonwe Valar: Vote in the discussion thread on the forum :}
ArPharazonV: Or just too late to witness the gavel.
Eonwe Valar: Deadline is Jan 31st, but if everyone weighs in sooner I'll make the new baord sooner.
Eonwe Valar: *board
Menelvagor Valar: Oh, I was in time to witness the gavel, just that I haven't been able to match the speed of light yet, so I managed to be too late to be there for the gavel, but I did *see* it ^^
VardaValar1: thanks Eonwe :-)
VardaValar1: Aiya Menel
VardaValar1: brb
Eonwe Valar: In case you all are busy next Sunday instead of being here, Merry Christmas to you all :}
Menelvagor Valar: No real plans as yet for xmas, so I'm as like to be here as anywhere else :-)
ArPharazonV: that'll be the 25th? shouldn't be doing much, especially at this time of day
VardaValar1: Desire for power can be a binder to the staff. So even if we remove the possessor, the brother may have to fight the desire for the power he could personally hold Hard when the desire for vengeance will be so strong in him.
VardaValar1: If he uses the staff himself, he becomes the new baddie. If he can reject it, the staff may fall apart or lose it's magic.
VardaValar1: Aiya Menel. :-) You get to help vote on a sequel title. :0
VardaValar1: or we can have it so that the staff must be destroyed, no circle thing.
Menelvagor Valar: on it :-)
VardaValar1: I only came up with that to work with the Angmar Bound title.
Menelvagor Valar: Right now though, I am thoroughly enjoying the piano guys cello wars version through my headset at max volume ^^
VardaValar1: k, good vid. Have fun
Menelvagor Valar: already over :-)
Menelvagor Valar: Replied :-)
Eonwe Valar: It's guild run time, so my focus will be on Lothar.
Menelvagor Valar: Afraid I cannot attend, for rather obvious reasons ^^
VardaValar1: Namarie
