Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
VardaValar1: Aiya Phar, I'm early, feel free to continue with killage. : )
ArPharazonV: oh, we stopped the raid early, after 2 hours on 25-man Saurfang
ArPharazonV: I'm just watching a series and browsing somewhat
ArPharazonV: I also reacted to your post yesterday
VardaValar1: Indis reacted to your post. : )
ArPharazonV: just noticed :-)
ArPharazonV: I was a bit in doubt about whether I would have Calion wounded, since I didn't want him too much weakened at the actual ambush
VardaValar1: Aye, that's a problem if you want your character to continue in a story, doing things.
ArPharazonV: so I'm glad I could respond to your small post so fast, and define teh wound, so to speak
ArPharazonV: *the
VardaValar1: Aye :-)
VardaValar1: JRRT originally had Legolas wounded during the Balrog fight, but dropped it.
ArPharazonV: but I had this picture in my head about being knocked to the ground, rolling a short distance to grab a new weapon, and pointing it at a spider while lying down
ArPharazonV: so a wound was best ;-)
karakedi25 has entered the room.
karakedi25: aiya!
VardaValar1: One you can get over fast, aye.
VardaValar1: Aiya
VardaValar1: You're early today. : )
ArPharazonV: besides, it might work... I don't have the ambush really planned out yet (nor could I without railroading everyone) but I know there'll be some interaction between the two brothers, one of which must have the speed to leave the other away while he retreats....
ArPharazonV: so a leg-wound might work
ArPharazonV: *leave the other behind
VardaValar1: I'm trying to work it so we take off soon and hit the ambush, but the ambush is messed up by the rain clearing the Gulhuine mostly out of the air.
karakedi25: doing festival stuff, so I can focus here more
karakedi25: talking about the RP, I take it
ArPharazonV: Calaron: "You haven't seen the last of me! You can find me in Angmar!" *kicks Calion right in the wound and runs while Calion clutches his leg in pain*
ArPharazonV: yeah
ArPharazonV: well, that's the general idea
VardaValar1: Or he could be busy with the rest of the baddies attacking the party and have to choose between helping a party member or chasing Calaron.
ArPharazonV: We'll see. I have no idea yet.
VardaValar1: Sounds like you do. Nice to have options though.
VardaValar1: We need a Tolkien topic also. I'd like to not have the gaming and the rp take over so much.
ArPharazonV: I know they'll be ambushed, I know Calaron will fire a few arrows at the party (considered a note tied to an arrow hitting a tree near Calion, but that's a bit too silly) and I know Calaron will escape to the Northwest, preferably after an encounter with his brother
ArPharazonV: but other details I've got no idea of
VardaValar1: That's why you have a party along to help fill it in. : )
ArPharazonV: *nod*
ArPharazonV: I'm counting on it :-)
VardaValar1: We'd be hamstrung by not wanting to commit a kin-slaying.
VardaValar1: ok, time to invite.
ArPharazonV: Aye. And you won't. But that's something you'll see in Angmar, for I already have the general story set there too
AriehnV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: the first hints of which you'll see in a surprise post after we leave the ambush-spot :-)
pallandovalar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Pallando :-)
pallandovalar: I heard this is where all the cool people are.
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
VardaValar1: Must be. You're here. : )
AriehnV: aiya :-)
arwenv1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Eonwe is probably at work.
VardaValar1: Aiya Arwen : )
VardaValar1: Arien, just who we were talking about earlier. : )
VardaValar1: rp posting has been going on.
arwenv1: =o
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Eonwe, aiya!
Eonwe Valar: Heya.
karakedi25: aiya everyone :-)
pallandovalar: varda, your state is far too windy. :p
VardaValar1: Depends on which part you're in. Great for windmill power. : )
karakedi25: I posted something new today, but we need Menel here to respond to a couple of posts back so Frali can get back into the fray
VardaValar1: Menel tends to be on later. Maybe that will let us think about something besides the rp. : )

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!
VardaValar1: Membership:
VardaValar1: Meriadoc'-(V)s birthday was Jan 9, just 6 days after JRRT's. : )
VardaValar1: He also just got back internet today after a week without.
VardaValar1: Anyone else have membership news?
AriehnV: yester in three weeks is my 40 th =-O
AriehnV: yesterday in three weeks
VardaValar1: So three weeks from now you'll level to 40? :-)
VardaValar1: Congrats!
ArPharazonV: congrats :-)
AriehnV: lol me getting old nothing to congrat .. sniff wants crutch
VardaValar1: You're still quite a youngster in this crowd. : )
VardaValar1: Kid. : )
karakedi25: the 40's are a great time of live
karakedi25: d
karakedi25: *life
VardaValar1: I agree. The 40's were very active with a good grasp of what you like.
AriehnV: ah well maybe i ll believe it when i am fifty :-P
VardaValar1: The 50's have been good too, a lot like the 40's, but a few gray hairs, like Rogue. ;-)
AriehnV: L) hehe nice go on then :-) *sneaks and steals Vardas crutch*]
VardaValar1: *chuckles* I move very well, so no problem.
VardaValar1: Any other membership news?
top

VardaValar1: Web:
VardaValar1: A question for you folks:
VardaValar1: How would you feel about adding links to our Facebook pages onto the Membership page, at least for those who would like that?
VardaValar1: No opinion is also ok.
VardaValar1: Anyone else here use Facebook?
ArPharazonV: I didn't even know we had Facebook pages.. I at least, don't have one
ArPharazonV: nor do I plan to
VardaValar1: It's a personal page.
AriehnV: nope and i dont intend to , i have heard a lot of bad things about it
karakedi25: I have a FB account, but I rarely look at it.
VardaValar1: No problem.
ArPharazonV: No Facebook, no Myspace, no Twitter... I try to avoid all that sort of thing
Eonwe Valar: Most of the bad things I hear are about myspace, hehe.
AriehnV: gets abused too easily
VardaValar1: Facebook is used a lot for networking, business, the older set. MySpace is more for the younger set like the teens.
pallandovalar: I don't have a FB due to personal intransigence.
VardaValar1: You curmudgeon. : )
pallandovalar: Nah, FB is college age too.
VardaValar1: So it won't affect any of you.
pallandovalar: Myspace hasn't been cool for years.
VardaValar1: College is not teen. : )
ArPharazonV: depends on when you start college
pallandovalar: well, it was for highschool for me. :p
VardaValar1: Ok, so none of you would be affected.
VardaValar1: On to another bit of Web:
Eonwe Valar: College age would be about the age you want to make networking contacts too, hehe.

VardaValar1: Maedhros-V has a new sketch up of his hobbit character in LotRO:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/MaedhrosGneech/sketchaday20100106_maedhroc.gif
arwenv1: mmm, all my highschool friends are on facebook, its nice to keep in touch with them :-)
VardaValar1: Here's his cave on our site for all his pictures:
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/art/gallery/MaedhrosGneech/caveMaedhrosGneech.htm

AriehnV: nice work :-) i ve got a small question or propositon to which is webrelated
VardaValar1: Fire away.
AriehnV: i just wondered ... its forum related i should say
AriehnV: you know when u write a new post u ve got to read to the end of the page to see where the story is
VardaValar1: Scroll down fast? : )
AriehnV: i just wondered whether u can some how arrange it so that the latest post is on top or at least can displayed like that?
Eonwe Valar: Unfortunately no.
ArPharazonV: Most forums I've seen have a feature that if you click on the thread or some button around there, or if you click on the last page of the thread
ArPharazonV: you automatically get scrolled down to the last post
VardaValar1: There is a place at the bottom of the main page showing the 10 most recent posts. Often that will take care of it.
ArPharazonV: That might be something?
Eonwe Valar: You can select the link that says "Last 10 posts" and it iwll offer the most recent 10 posts on the entire forum in reverse order.
ArPharazonV: Yes, that works too :-)
karakedi25: I didn't know about that. Handy!
AriehnV: cool :-) would make it a hell of a lot easier for the next poster
AriehnV: that was ot
AriehnV: it even
VardaValar1: Most of the posts lately have been about the rp, so that could be what you need.
VardaValar1: It helps me locate what's been said all over the forum quickly.
AriehnV: cool thanks :-)
ArPharazonV: I use it all the time; only problems I have is when I don't check in a week or two and then there's more than 10 new posts
VardaValar1: Good question. No telling how many people reading this transcript that you just helped.
VardaValar1: Any further web news?
top

VardaValar1: Gaming:
VardaValar1: Any non-LotRO, non-WoW games this past week?
ArPharazonV: yus
VardaValar1: I can't seem to invite Fladrif, says a session already exists.
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Phar.
ArPharazonV: I finished Tales of Monkey Island; the last chapter was quite fun, I recommend it if you're a Monkey Island fan
ArPharazonV: I also played a bit of the Total Annihilation expansion called Core Contingency
ArPharazonV: I didn't get far though, got stuck in the first few levels: it takes place on a complete water world, and I hate ship-combat, so that might be the cause, but also I think my RTS-skill has degraded quite a bit over the years
ArPharazonV: so I'm not sure if I'll be going back to it any time soon
ArPharazonV: instead I'll probably be focusing on other genres I have lying about ;-)
ArPharazonV: and I guess that's it for me
VardaValar1: Thanks. :-)
VardaValar1: Anyone else?
ArPharazonV: maybe I'll go back to the original TA to grind up my skills to a decent level and then try again, but that's very doubtful
VardaValar1: Arth-T emailed and said he's still active in Second Life as Arth if you want to catch him there.
VardaValar1: Fladrif also plays there as SodoL
VardaValar1: On to WoW:
VardaValar1: Argent Dawn folks, Aragorn is alive and well, just been very busy. : )
VardaValar1: Any other AD news?
ArPharazonV: Arien once complained about me not talking in the valar channel a lot, but... there's just not much to say I'm afraid
VardaValar1: A lot of members are caught right now in the beginning of the next college semester.
VardaValar1: Say hi? : )
ArPharazonV: of course, when I remember to, but that happens at most like 2 times a day, still not very active ;-)
VardaValar1: Our Valar friend channel in LotRO is also amazingly quiet. It may be because of the kind of people we collect, polite sorts.
VardaValar1: It's mostly a collection of howdys, with a rare looking for group.
VardaValar1: We've been having 10-15 in it.
VardaValar1: Arien, any AD news?
AriehnV: hehe aye i did lol
AriehnV: not really been a lot of heroicing a nd a couple of success ful premades wsg with my new guild
AriehnV: else grinding furious and pve gear , and valarwise aye i caught up with Calaron
VardaValar1: Nice : )
AriehnV: just asking about our doings :-)
AriehnV: dps is getting better on the rogue
AriehnV: but i find it amazingly difficult but getting there
VardaValar1: Do you ever still see Helm or others?
AriehnV: aye we are still in the same guild on auchindoun
AriehnV: he is more or less happy with his hunter now , evil dps and likes skulking in trees prying on unsuspicious allies in scholazar
AriehnV: .. if u are ever tempted to create an ally there .. look up :-)
ArPharazonV: skulking in trees sounds like fun
ArPharazonV: I should get a hunter up
VardaValar1: Thanks, gang.

VardaValar1: On Lothar, Bilbo and Sauron have been running quite a few Heroics this past week.
VardaValar1: Others of the group have been running under that, but running high level stuff much more now. Even the lower ones are coming into Ice Crown.
VardaValar1: Arwen's young warlock just hit 80 this week. : )
AriehnV: grats Arwen :-)
ArPharazonV: grats!

VardaValar1: On to LotRO:
VardaValar1: Indis, would you like to tell a bit about it as one of those on the most?
karakedi25: Sure. Nothing hugely new, but lots of activity still since Mirkwood came out....
karakedi25: and an increasing number hitting level cap either on first or second alt.
karakedi25: We've been trying the end-game instances, at least some of us, and believe me, they're very hard.
karakedi25: Defeat is more routine than any of us would like, but we persist and sometimes succeed.
karakedi25: Much of the end-game is at Dol Guldur, where we have been aiding a thrust from Lothlorien.
karakedi25: anything to add from the others playing LotRO?
VardaValar1: Crafting has seen progress also.
karakedi25: lots of new features that are somewhat inconspicuous to end-game players...
VardaValar1: Some of us have been swapping a lot of ore around to help with that. : )
karakedi25: for example, I found out that the rep vendor in Bree sells a 'guide to Bree' that permits a direct port there.
VardaValar1: Aye, the low end alts are seeing tons of new stuff, great fun to see the changes.
VardaValar1: New dungeon in the Lone Lands.
karakedi25: ah yes (what they're calling the Wastes of Cardolan, as they don't have the rights to that name)

pallandovalar: I have to go, but I'd just like to throw in that I haven't been on eve (or any game) since mid-november, but I have actually had a couple bites out of game interested in the valar guild. Gave me a few hints for what I can do to increase interest.
karakedi25: so lots of new little surprises
pallandovalar: namarie
VardaValar1: Namarie, Pallando!
VardaValar1: O good!
karakedi25: namarie
ArPharazonV: namarie!
VardaValar1: Let us know sometime what it was that increased interest.
VardaValar1: Pallando seems to be away, so we'll move on to Tolkien.
VardaValar1: Eonwe, go ahead.
pallandovalar: not yet!
VardaValar1: Okie, holding up.
pallandovalar: it was the fact that I had a bit of valar guild information in my bio on my main
pallandovalar: I never thought about using that as an advertising tool on pallando.
VardaValar1: That does help. I put the guild site on the bio on my LotRO characters.
pallandovalar: But people will often check your info out if you're in lowsec to figure out if you're going to shoot them, so it's pretty good advertizing, you just need a catchy line.
VardaValar1: What did you put?
pallandovalar: it's just been a "member of the Valar Guild" line.
pallandovalar: need to make it something fancier.
pallandovalar: but gone.
pallandovalar: o/
ArPharazonV: o/
VardaValar1: Apparently it's working. Mine have some lines first.
AriehnV: o/
VardaValar1: You guys lost me. What does that mean? : )
VardaValar1: A wave?
AriehnV: *waves goodbye*
ArPharazonV: waving goodbye, yes
AriehnV: aye
VardaValar1: Merry uses a wave too: ~~~~~~~~
ArPharazonV: in our raidcommunity on AD we defined \o as a greeting and o/ as goodbye, but they're probably interchangeable in normal circumstances
VardaValar1: Thanks. We use Aiya and Namarie. : )
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: Moving right along...
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, go ahead. :-)
Eonwe Valar: ok:}
Eonwe Valar: I have a Tolkien moment to share, a quote, that I am preparing, so don't fear I've disappeared by the silence :}
karakedi25: beginning to think it's not a Tolkien moment, but a Tolkien hour ;-)
ArPharazonV: aww, probably just a hard to find quote
Eonwe Valar: "'So it seems,' said Faramir, slowly and very softly, with a strange smile. 'So that is the answer to all the riddles! The One Ring that was thoughht to have perished from the world. And Boromir tried to take it by force? And you escaped? And ran all the way--to me!
VardaValar1: He's quick to see the irony and their viewpoint. : )
Eonwe Valar: And here in the wild I have you: two halflings, and a host of men at my call, and the Ring of Rings. A pretty stroke of fortune! A chance for Faramir, Captain of Gondor, to show his quality! Ha!' He stood up, very tall and stern, his grey eyes glinting.
karakedi25: It's another Galadriel moment :-)
VardaValar1: Nope. : ) But it could have been.
AriehnV: it certainly reminds of that scene
karakedi25: in literary terms, it is
karakedi25: fear that the powerful person will go bad, and then they don't
VardaValar1: Scary moment.
VardaValar1: Aye.
Eonwe Valar: Frodo and Sam sprang from their stools and set themselves side by side with their backs to the wall, fumbling for their sword-hilts. There was a silence. All the men in the cave stopped talking and looked towards them in wonder.
Eonwe Valar: But Faramir sat down again in his chair and began to laught quietly, and then suddenly became grave again.
Eonwe Valar: 'Alas for Boromir! It was too sore a trial!' he said. 'How you have increased my sorrow, you two strange wanderers from a far country, bearing the peril of Men! But you are less judges of Men than I of Halflings.
Eonwe Valar: We are truth-speakers, we men of Gondor. We boast seldom, and then perform, or die in the attempt. Not if I found it on the highway would I take it I said. Even if I were such a man as to desire this thing, and even though I knew not clearly what this thing was when I spoke, still I should take those words as a vow, and be held by them.'
Eonwe Valar: 'But I am not such a man. Or I am wise enough to know that there are some perils from which a man must flee. Sit at peace! And be comforted, Samwise. If you seem to have stumbled, think that it was fated to be so. Your heart is shrewd as well as faithful, and saw clearer than your eyes.
VardaValar1: awww
Eonwe Valar: For strange though it may seem, it was safe to declare this to me. It may even help the master that you love. It shall turn to his good, if it is in my power. So be comforted. But do not even name this thing again aloud. Once is enough.'"
Eonwe Valar: End.
ArPharazonV: Faramir seems to take his earlier "vow" as a sort of excuse to do the right thing, instead of doing what his father would have wanted him to do and which would have elevated him in his father's eyes... though I do not think he would have needed one
VardaValar1: /applaud
VardaValar1: Even if I were such a man as to desire this thing,
karakedi25: I would say that he was entirely sincere.
VardaValar1: He never is truly tempted, the way Galadriel was. But I agree that it is the same sort of scary moment where it looks like the powerful person is about to take it.
ArPharazonV: it carries a hint of "I don't want to take the Ring from you, so it's good I made a vow earlier never to pick it up so I have an excuse" but that might just be me
VardaValar1: To me he doesn't need an excuse, but he does try to show them that they are safe, and that the vow would also hold him back.
Eonwe Valar: Or it could be more of a "You got lucky this time, but be more careful." His sense of humor driving home a larger point.
VardaValar1: Aye
ArPharazonV: He doesn't need one, no, but still he seems to be trying to justify his actions
pallandovalar has left the room.
VardaValar1: He sure is telling them to be more careful! : )
ArPharazonV: that's true
ArPharazonV: "Once is enough."
VardaValar1: Once is enough
ArPharazonV: :-)
Eonwe Valar: His explaining, "we are truth-speakers, we men of Gondor." Was more to assuage Sam's fears, it seems to me.
VardaValar1: Faramir's attitude really speaks to me, and is something of a definer for the book's core beliefs.
ArPharazonV: That's also a possibility I considered. Using his vow to assure Sam and Frodo of his good intentions, enforcing a trust in him.
VardaValar1: JRRT said Faramir wrote himself in. : )
karakedi25: and reassuring himself, as it's possible he might have had a moment of doubt, knowing what his father would want
ArPharazonV: I did not expect him, I did not even want him, but there he is...
ArPharazonV: or some quote like that
VardaValar1: And if he talks too much more, most of him will have to go in the Appendices.
VardaValar1: Aye. : )
Eonwe Valar: hehe
VardaValar1: The book Faramir is very different from the movie Faramir in a lot of ways.
ArPharazonV: Ah, yes, his speech was the basis for the appendix on languages wasn't it?
ArPharazonV: at least, I remember something like that from the History Of
ArPharazonV: just like the Pipeweed section came from Merry and Pippin at Isengard
AriehnV: its the way with that with writers in a story :-)
AriehnV: some things just seem to write themseves
AriehnV: (=+ l)
AriehnV: its the way i wao
AriehnV: i work
AriehnV: or it seems to work with me when writing stories
AriehnV: you dont think , not much anyway
VardaValar1: I think pretty hard, but some parts seem to just come.

VardaValar1: Speaking of writing, do we want to make a quick run at the rp?
VardaValar1: It's a bit hard missing Menelvagor but quite a few of us are here.
VardaValar1: Should we wait for Menel to post?
karakedi25: I'd like to talk about it, especially as I have no idea how long it will take him to post.
VardaValar1: What do you want to say?
AriehnV: well all Frali could post is a very short post , he has to post really before Frali can do anything
AriehnV: at the moment he just sits on Estarions legs ready to pick up his axe either to use with orcs / spiders or to defend Meren lol
AriehnV: should it come to that which it wont but the dwarf doesnt know that
VardaValar1: One of the writers could get a wild hare, never know. : )
ArPharazonV: I'm mostly wondering what Auros is doing at this point.
ArPharazonV: I first assumed he'd be the one to come to Calion's help with the spider ;-)
karakedi25: I've been wondering the same thing.
karakedi25: But I was hoping we could find a way for Frali to be freed up for action, in case Menel is very slow to post.
karakedi25: brb
karakedi25: back
AriehnV: btw i was wondering if Frali should change his weapon .. Helm thought when i first mentioned our Rp to him that an axe might be a bit heavy
AriehnV: i thought its more dwarf like .. well a bit cliche , u see dwarves mostly with axes
Eonwe Valar: Axes come in the one-handed and two-handed variety, and are the typical and symbolic weapon of Dwarves.
VardaValar1: He's a dwarf. Gimli used an axe.
Eonwe Valar: I beleive during the War of the Dwarves and Orcs, tehre were also Dwarves armed with mattocks, but axes are the standard for Dwarves, hence their battlecry.
AriehnV: oki do , i guess class wise he would be a champion i think
AriehnV: all right then axe it will stay other wise i d have the axe damaged and him pick up some thing else but so be it
AriehnV: :-)
VardaValar1: There are a great many styles of axes, and weights. And a dwarf is very strong.
ArPharazonV: a club? :-)
ArPharazonV: heavy branch!
ArPharazonV: if you want, I've got an orc sword for you ;-)
AriehnV: hehe aye improvising he would
VardaValar1: Does Frali have some throwing axes?
karakedi25: that's what he needs most for now-something ranged
AriehnV: aye he d have two throwing axes on back i think
VardaValar1: That's used by champions in LotRO too. : )
VardaValar1: At least, my champion used them.
AriehnV: i think he has two throwing axes strapped on his back
AriehnV: he might have forgotten about them so far with the enchantmnent ..
VardaValar1: The bow on my champ was better, but I had a pile of throwing axes from working up armsman crafting. : )
AriehnV: :-)
VardaValar1: Aye, just waking up completely now, with the action and adrenaline pushing him.
VardaValar1: Feel free to clonk that spider on the tree anytime!
AriehnV: sure :-)
VardaValar1: Will Turner in Pirates had a nifty throwing axe.
karakedi25: Meren will trust that Estarion is secure one way or the other and continue to participate as she can. She's already preparing the herbs for Calion's leg.
ArPharazonV: which Pirates is that, Varda? I only remember the knife he got from his dad in the second movie, and I know he used a sword
VardaValar1: Duroch alone should be enough, and with Frali sitting on his legs complete with armor, he may limp when he gets up for a bit. : )
VardaValar1: When the pirates attack the town in the first movie.
ArPharazonV: Ah. Haven't seen that bit in a while.
VardaValar1: The throwing axe was unusual in movies or tv, so it really caught my attention.
ArPharazonV: I remember Gimli using one at Amon Hen... or was it Moria?
ArPharazonV: in the movies, I mean
ArPharazonV: I also remember him tossing one at Gandalf when they meet him in Fangorn ;-)
AriehnV: Post
karakedi25: OK, we'll leave Duroch in place, and he'll let Meren know if there's any problem with Estarion.
VardaValar1: Thanks, Arien. : )
AriehnV: Frali stays on Estarions legs indis ;-)
VardaValar1: slight correction
AriehnV: he is skilled enough
VardaValar1: The spider is below Fainan who is up in the tree branch.
VardaValar1: The spiders were behind her on the rope which swung down.
VardaValar1: Spiders can sure jump well.
AriehnV: Mirrp ok lol
karakedi25: yay Frali!
VardaValar1: So it could still be ready to jump upwards or onto one of the other party members.
VardaValar1: The rest of the post is great. : )
AriehnV: ok ...so how would the axes hit ? probably straight on?
AriehnV: and knock the spider back
VardaValar1: It's still up on the tree, Fainan is just up higher.
VardaValar1: He could cut off legs, pin the spider, or have it hacked right through. Lots of choices.
karakedi25: Meren is aiming some pointy sticks at it too.
karakedi25: Or I could take that part out.
ArPharazonV: ("which had hitherto completely forgotten abou."
ArPharazonV: )
AriehnV: ah right i understand now both in the tree but spider is lower
ArPharazonV: might want to fix that
AriehnV: sure will do have to change that anyway
VardaValar1: Right.
ArPharazonV: if anyone spots spelling mistakes in my posts, also be sure to correct me as well
AriehnV: pin the spider to the tree? how is that?
VardaValar1: Throwing sharp objects into a spider which is currently standing sideways on a tree trunk.
ArPharazonV: by the way, Varda, those two arrows you shot into the second spider were supposed to kill him, right? ;-)
VardaValar1: Those axes could also kill the spider.
VardaValar1: Aye, going into its head. Plenty big for a target.
AriehnV: which then would fall out of the tree
VardaValar1: It might not quit moving right away.
VardaValar1: The one I hit was on the ground.
VardaValar1: pardon, Fainan hit. : )
AriehnV: hehe ok , lol , but if the axes hit, they sure would throw the spider off balance
VardaValar1: The axes could kill the spider, correctly placed, remove legs, and other fun stuff.
ArPharazonV: well, I doubt it'd catch them in its paws and throw them up at Fainan, anyway, though that might be a fun twist
ArPharazonV: legs, sorry
ArPharazonV: I don't think they're called paws on spiders
VardaValar1: Claws : )
ArPharazonV: claws? hmm... could work
AriehnV: is it light still so that Frali could have aimed ?
VardaValar1: Yes, just dim from clouds and branches overhead. But the river makes it lighter since the branches are less thick.
VardaValar1: It's daytime.
ArPharazonV: ...that is starting to sound a bit like a D&D game, with environmental factors affecting rolls ;-)
VardaValar1: Or like rl. : )
VardaValar1: Frali can aim, no problem.
VardaValar1: The position could throw him off.
VardaValar1: But you have a point too. These spiders are intelligent and can work together.
VardaValar1: They have a language.
ArPharazonV: if 2 out of 3 weren't already dead
VardaValar1: A problem for them, and one reason we needed to kill them fast and separate them from the others.
VardaValar1: We're not out of the woods yet. : )
ArPharazonV: interesting choice of words!
VardaValar1: Danke : )
AriehnV: oki do changed
AriehnV: have a look now
AriehnV: spider is still in the tree but front legs on ground
AriehnV: so an arrow or stick from below might cause a tumble and get it off the tree
VardaValar1: Exciting post.
ArPharazonV: 6 more legs and it'll drop down on its own ;-)
VardaValar1: heheh
VardaValar1: Feel free to post during the week too, but this round robin system where we can talk it over is super. : )
VardaValar1: It's been two hours. Shall we go to After-meeting and let you folks sleep? : )
ArPharazonV: I'll keep it for now. Calion's seen his share of the action and is wounded, so I'll have others let a go. At least Auros and Estarion should have a chance to post.
ArPharazonV: and yeah, I should go to bed soon ;-)
VardaValar1: Sounds good.
VardaValar1: Eonwe is very busy right now using his very small amount of time off of work. That should let him have a chance to post when he's not so rushed.

VardaValar1: After-meeting!
karakedi25: nice work--we progress :-)
VardaValar1: *everyone stampedes to the refrigerator*
AriehnV: :-) ok smoothed up the grammar in the post too
AriehnV: and i trundle off now better as well as i am getting sleepy ;-)
VardaValar1: Namarie, Arien!
ArPharazonV: took out the "the the", Arien? ;-)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1: I could have Fainan shoot at this spider, but would like to leave a chance for the others to get in their posts first.
VardaValar1: Until we meet again and after, be well. : )
ArPharazonV: I've got a dagger ready to throw at it, but yes
AriehnV: Namarie :-) Anar kaluva tielyanna :-)
ArPharazonV: let's have others take a shot
AriehnV has left the room.
VardaValar1 has left the room.
karakedi25 has left the room.
arwenv1 has left the room.
