under the initial impression she'd fall as she was coming onto the

still safe, Meren was packing up the herbs she had gathered when the
last passengers were about to land.

Eonwe Valar: Ah, it was Arien's post then that had her slipping on the Halls side of the river.
Menelvagor Valar: It suggests, to me at least, that Fralí and
whoever else was going across last were already en route and possibly
disembarking when she started gathering up her stuff.
Menelvagor Valar: And my own post says that I am dropping out of my
scouting position in the trees when the last people get ferried across
to give Fralí a hand with disembarking.

Menelvagor Valar: well, we could make it that another encampment is to
the north, which moves with more stealth, shrouded by whatever is
creeping up from the north.
ArPharazonV: Yes. North. It flows North across the Elf-path into the Forest River, which flows southeast past the Halls
ArPharazonV: Remember, we're crossing the Enchanted River here, not the Forest River.
Eonwe Valar: That's right, Enchanted River.
ArPharazonV: the Enchanted River comes down North from the mountains of
southern Mirkwood, and enters the Forest River some way after crossing
the path, west/northwest of the Halls
Menelvagor Valar: in that case, a reunion could be swift.
ArPharazonV: the Forest River then goes on (after its own origin in the northwest) to flow past Thranduil's Halls
ArPharazonV: if the Forest River was enchanted, Bilbo would've fallen asleep after the barrel-escape :-)
Eonwe Valar: Oh, wouldn't Auros be thrilled. He has to go back towards
Thranduil's Halls to track down the missing party members :}

ArPharazonV: if we end up at the junction, we'll be over halfway back towards the Halls according to the map in The Hobbit :-)

have the current run us aground in a recess on the bank that we
currently *were* on :-)
ArPharazonV: the actual turn is somewhat before the crossing of the path
ArPharazonV: but there's still a slight curve
Eonwe Valar: The sharp bend "at least the one that looks to me like a sharp bend in my Atlas" is south of the road.
Menelvagor Valar: and with the rain stopping, as Indis may have
suggested, it is entirely possible that whatever alcove we end up in
may drie up, allowing us to shrug off sleep.
