Eonwe Valar: ok
Eonwe Valar: We can take care of that tonight after the meeting.

Eonwe Valar: Since no one else has tried to mention any member news, I think we can safely move to Web news:
Eonwe Valar: Looks like our Tolkien member Bohemian Weasel has been keeping Varda busy on the art page this week :}
VardaValar1: :-)
Eonwe Valar: It's a good chunk of art, so it might be easier to just check the News page for a complete list :}
VardaValar1: http://www.valar.game-host.org/varda/gallery/BohemianWeasel/caveBohemianWeasel.htm
Eonwe Valar: Anything you want to add about it Varda, or does that about cover it?
VardaValar1: More coming.
VardaValar1: More.
Eonwe Valar: A link to Bohemian Weasel's art cave works too ;}
VardaValar1: Menelvagor sent in photos a while back. I'm setting up his cave, and it's partly done.
VardaValar1: If you want to see a partly done cave:
VardaValar1: http://www.valar.game-host.org/varda/gallery/Menelvagor/caveMenelvagor.htm
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
VardaValar1: Web
VardaValar1: On the News and Forum, we have a poem up by Maedhros-V, aka The Gneech.
VardaValar1: Those of you who played LotRO will recognize how well he showed Lalia. : )
Eonwe Valar: Aye :}
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/guild/news.html
VardaValar1: Done.
Eonwe Valar: THanks :}
Eonwe Valar: Gaming:

Gaming:
Eonwe Valar: I have two new games for my XBox 360:
Eonwe Valar: the new Prince of Persia game, and one you all might be more interested in,..
Eonwe Valar: Lord of the Rings: Conquest.
Eonwe Valar: Expect reviews for both when I'm done with them.
VardaValar1: Yay
VardaValar1: Bilbo brought home Left 4 Dead and played it very hard.
Eonwe Valar: Initial impressions of both aren't too bad though.
VardaValar1: and he brought back out Diablo 2 Expansion games from a friend's, so we've been playing that some.
Eonwe Valar: LotRO:
Eonwe Valar: I was on earlier in the week, but due to work missed Monday night.
AriehnV: i had a bit time in Lotro on wednesday
AriehnV: but i am mostly done with what i can solo in the forsaken inn or in the old forest so guess i should try and steel some time there to get those done :0
Eonwe Valar: hehe
VardaValar1: And call us in. Are we just missing you do to time?
AriehnV: aye its the time difference i guess , usually its too late to go over to Lotro when i am off wow
AriehnV: but this week i am on holiday
AriehnV: i think i might manage monday night :-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
AriehnV: what time do u usually start ?
VardaValar1: You are asking Eonwe?
Eonwe Valar: I try to be in around 5-6 my time usually, and it usually looks like they're already doing something.
VardaValar1: I've been coming in more in the evenings, trying to do rl more in the day. We have people going from early morning through the whole day.
VardaValar1: daily.
Eonwe Valar: But if you catch me on, I've no qualms helping you out in the Lonelands. I've been soloing that place myself :}
VardaValar1: The Melkorrim come in regularly in the early morning on weekends.
VardaValar1: I'm talking EST
VardaValar1: People are most likely on right now. : )
VardaValar1: Maedhros and I have been doing the Lone Lands like Agamaur and the instance.
VardaValar1: Gath Agarwaen.
Eonwe Valar: I still need to finish that instance up, hehe.
VardaValar1: There are a lot of chain quests there.
Eonwe Valar: My last group fell apart on the tree. Just couldn't kill him.
VardaValar1: You two want to try to hit it after the meeting?
VardaValar1: Aye, that's where Maedhros and I are having trouble. My hunter did much better there than the minstrel. : )
VardaValar1: Grimbark.
Eonwe Valar: Yeah, that's him.
VardaValar1: With beehives. And roots.
Eonwe Valar: We could try. Not sure if Arien wants to be up that long though? :}
VardaValar1: The high level people in LotRO, including me, are working towards our Radiant armor set so we can tackle the Watcher.
VardaValar1: We are also making our way through the books.
VardaValar1: Kudos to Ulmo, Gorlim, and Ancalagon on doing seriously well. : )
VardaValar1: I think Ulmo completed his Radiant armor set.
VardaValar1: Go ahead. I'm sure I'm the only one here that that meant anything to. : )
Eonwe Valar: Congrats :}
Eonwe Valar: Just because I haven't seen the radiant armor set doesn't mean I can't be happy for them :}
Eonwe Valar: I know what the Watcher is if that counts :}
VardaValar1: Yay : )
VardaValar1: This is for the final round against him, the only way to get First Age items.
VardaValar1: Run Vile Maw in the Waterworks.
VardaValar1: Ulmo says the Waterworks is one of his favorite places. ;-)
Eonwe Valar: hehe :}
Eonwe Valar: Gee, I wonder why :}
AriehnV: has something to do with water maybe ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Thank you Varda for the latest on LotRO :} Glad our members there are having fun :} Now if we could just drag them to a meeting to brag in person about all their fun, hehe :}
VardaValar1: Three of us are here. : )
Eonwe Valar: True :}
Eonwe Valar: WoW:
Eonwe Valar: The wait for Patch 3.0.8 continues as it continues to be tweaked on the Test realm.
Eonwe Valar: It seems that we'll be able to make Death Knights on any server once we have a 55 on any server.
VardaValar1: Because people have zero patience?
ArPharazonV: apparently
ArPharazonV: because death knights are cool and the servers haven't been flooded with them enough?
Eonwe Valar: Or Blizzard is just deciding to go ahead and move now to let anyone with a 55 make a DK anywhere, hoping it'll alleviate server crowding.
Eonwe Valar: They'd already said it was a good possibility it'd happen in the future. This is just a bit sooner than I would've expected.
VardaValar1: Aye, Lothar server was locked down the other day. We played Horde on Uldaman server instead. : )
Eonwe Valar: I would've guessed at least a couple of major content patches before it happened.
Eonwe Valar: They've also been offering free server transfers off of higher populated realms.
AriehnV: i wonder wheter they ll take away a bit of the power of dks
arwenv1: Lothar isnt one of them atm
AriehnV: there s been calls for that loud lately
arwenv1: there are quite a few DK nerfs incoming
Eonwe Valar: A free 55 on any realm seems a pretty easy way to attract people to a different realm.
arwenv1: there are several classes/specs that are quite over powered atm
VardaValar1: DK and what else, Arwen?
arwenv1: Ret paladins
AriehnV: noooo
Eonwe Valar: Oh, of course we are :}
VardaValar1: o man
AriehnV: we have been nerfed enough
arwenv1: If you've pvped against a ret paladin, even post their past nerf, its rediculous
arwenv1: extremely high burst damage
Eonwe Valar: I've been killed as a Ret Paladin in PvP plenty of times.
arwenv1: Hunters, BM are also very OP
arwenv1: They can be killed, but they are still overpowred
ArPharazonV: are we just talking in pvp, Arwen? or in the rest of the game too?
Eonwe Valar: I've been playing a Ret Paladin since WoW came out. I'm no flavor of the month reroll, so I do know how Ret Pallies work :}
arwenv1: well, I dont care how overpowered they are in the rest of the game, though they do very high dps
arwenv1: In my guild's raids, ret paladins are either top of the dps or very near there
AriehnV: ah well we will see what happens in the end no use speculating
Eonwe Valar: That doesn't make them overpowered. The goal of Blizzard has been to make Ret Paladins competitive DPS.
Eonwe Valar: Ghostcrawler, the lead guy on such matters right now, has said this.
arwenv1: I'm not saying that they cant be competitive dps, but they are still quite overpowered
arwenv1: Especially in PVP
ArPharazonV: I'm actually topping our dps-meters these days as a cat-druid... no idea how that came to be, but apparently we're overpowered too >.>
arwenv1: Flying kitties are fun :-)
Eonwe Valar: Well I wish I were seeing this overpoweredness you speak of when I'm being kited to death quite easily by anyone with a ranged attack :}
Eonwe Valar: Which seems to be a good chunk of the battlegrounds I've been in :}
arwenv1: I dont play a mage, which means Ret paladins wipe the floor wiht me
AriehnV: hehe aye indeed *sighs heavily*
Eonwe Valar: There's hunters, priests, warlocks,..
AriehnV: meaning mages are def overpowered :-D
arwenv1: Ret paladins have classes that are hard for them to kill, yes, but they can be rediculously hard to kill too
Eonwe Valar: Warriors could hamstring a Paladin and fir ea gun at him just to annoy the Paladin :}
AriehnV: not to mention those flipping rogues
arwenv1: but a paladin could easy heal through that
arwenv1: or bubble, etc
Eonwe Valar: Either way, if Blizzard were that concerned over our DPS, I am quite sure they would do something about it.
arwenv1: Paladins have tons of tools to use
AriehnV: with sap and kidney shot and then another retri of alliance casts repentance than good bye
Eonwe Valar: They're already changed the speed debuff in Divine Shield to a 50% damage debuff.
arwenv1: its not so much dps, but burst damage, especially in pvp
arwenv1: I'm mostly concered with pvp, since I dont fight ret paladins otherwise :-)
Eonwe Valar: Ghostcrawler's also said wait until peopel start wearing more resillience :}
VardaValar1: They need to find a way to keep pvp and pve characters separate somehow.
Eonwe Valar: They're not going to.
Eonwe Valar: For good or ill.
arwenv1: I know he has, but resilience isnt going to help that much when someone is dead in just a few hits, regardless
Eonwe Valar: It will reduce crit damage, which will hurt all burst classes.
arwenv1: I personally dont think it will reduce it enough, I HAVE resilence
Eonwe Valar: So do I, on some of my gear :}
Eonwe Valar: Do you have a full PvP set?
arwenv1: My pvp set has some nice resilience, I'm missing about 3 pieces and a weapon for full pvp
Eonwe Valar: Or are you pvping in pve gear like most of us? :}
Eonwe Valar: Which one are you wearing?
arwenv1: which one what?
Eonwe Valar: Which pvp set?
Eonwe Valar: Or is it random pvp gear, not actually part of a set?
arwenv1: part of the blue set, part of the epic one, with a few of the nonset pieces
Eonwe Valar: So mixed quality.
arwenv1: its all lvl 80 except for the medallion
Eonwe Valar: Aye, but of course a lvl 80 blue is not as good as a lvl 80 epic :}
arwenv1: its not bad gear, the non pvp gear I'm wearing is nice too.
arwenv1: But the epics arnt THAT much better
Eonwe Valar: yet
arwenv1: and its still quite early in the season, so people dont have tons and tons of gear yet
arwenv1: I play a priest who heals in PVP, a DK/RET team, I get silenced, stunned, dead in about 4-5 seconds flat
Eonwe Valar: Aye, especially not tons of pvp gear.
Eonwe Valar: Then I would tell your group to protect you better :}
arwenv1: I play 2's
Eonwe Valar: Ah, so we're talking arena.
arwenv1: Supposedly healing will be more important as the season progresses
arwenv1: yes, I do fine in BG's
arwenv1: And come the next patch, although I'm getting nerfed, the silence effects are also getting diminishing returns
arwenv1: which is nice, except I still get dead in 1 silence/stun
Eonwe Valar: Well, that seems to be expected right now.
arwenv1: and thats what makes some classes op in my opinion
Eonwe Valar: A 2v2 arena match?
arwenv1: It happens in all the arena sets
Eonwe Valar: I seriously doubt the Ret Paladin is tearing 3-5 people apart all on his own :}
arwenv1: well if 3-5 people are there, not on his own
arwenv1: of course, even in 2's he has a DK to silence or a mage to slow or a hunter to sting
arwenv1: We should probably continue the meeting, cause I dont think we're going to agree
ArPharazonV: honestly, you can't balance classes for arena, bg and pve at once
arwenv1: Committed ret paladins, having gone from reduclously underpowered to quite overpowered cant see it sometimes, its inherent to all the classes
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, to keep this from getting too boring for others, I'll just point again to Ghostcrawler, who with all the numbers of Blizzard's servers at his disposal seems to think that it'll help when more peopel are wearing resilience.
arwenv1: The class you play isnt overpowered =P
VardaValar1: Right, Arwen!
Eonwe Valar: No, I am quite objective, but I am also seeing what others are saying.
arwenv1: Ghostcrawler is not perfect, he has numbers and ideal situtations
ArPharazonV: unless you somehow manage to seperate the characters, I doubt a day will come when some classes will not have an edge over another class in certain situatiosn
arwenv1: I see what Ghostcrawler is saying, I also see what happens to me and others in PVP
ArPharazonV: *ons
arwenv1: I know, ArPharazon, which is one of the things that makes it an arg problem =P
Eonwe Valar: Ghostcrawler doesn't seem to think Ret Paladins are that big a deal right now, and since he has all the numbers at his disposal,..
ArPharazonV: honestly, personally, arena is the least of my worries
ArPharazonV: so I've kept out of the discussions so far
arwenv1: Ghostcrawler isnt god, he's a dev, you should take what he says with a grain of sand =P
ArPharazonV: but don't be deluded by the hope that everything will be balanced in every way at some point in time
Eonwe Valar: I know, but he is deciding the fate of all classes in this game :}
arwenv1: "GC says" inst a magic bullet
Eonwe Valar: Neither is anecdotal evidence :}
arwenv1: its actually decided in committee, if you read his posts
arwenv1: He's just the one posting
Eonwe Valar: Jjust because you get torn apart by a Ret/DK team doesn't mean Rets are OP, just that Rets and Dks are very compatible :}
arwenv1: Anecdotal evidence isnt either, not saying it was.
arwenv1: And its not just me
Eonwe Valar: Other Rets like me aren't seeing this OPness you speak of because we're dying to others quite nicely, thank you :}
ArPharazonV: as long as this game exists, there will be topics for people to whine about, and some will be more justified than others... but honestly, class-balance issues are getting old ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Let's not drag this disucssion out too much longer though. We still have actual WoW reports to hear about :}
ArPharazonV: not from me you don't, I'm going to bed
ArPharazonV: need to get up in 5 hours
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well then :}
arwenv1: Good night!
ArPharazonV: saving and sending
VardaValar1: Sleep well
VardaValar1: Thank you, Phar : )
Eonwe Valar: So much for a quick business meeting, hehe :}
ArPharazonV (5:18:57 PM): saved  [Note: timestamp in CST. Please add 1 hour for EST.]
arwenv1 (5:19:00 PM): Good discussion is nice though.
VardaValar1 (5:19:13 PM): hehe and aye
Eonwe Valar (5:19:15 PM): Aye, a good discussion can be nice :}
VardaValar1 (5:19:21 PM): No first tonight!
Eonwe Valar (5:19:34 PM): Lothar:
Eonwe Valar (5:20:29 PM): My Protection Paladin is now 51 and doing Plaguelands. My Ret Paladin is now questing in Icecrown.
Eonwe Valar (5:21:05 PM): I saw Elwing, Fangorn, and Eowyn on earlier in the week questing with a couple of their characters in Borean Tundra.
Eonwe Valar (5:22:01 PM): That's all I've caught on Lothar this week.
VardaValar1 (5:22:21 PM): Fangorn, Elwing, and I were on at the same time yesterday
VardaValar1 (5:22:40 PM): Elwing and I took our lowbies and tore up Ashenvale. Mage and priest.
ArPharazonV (5:22:42 PM): sent
VardaValar1 (5:22:46 PM): Thanks : )
VardaValar1 (5:22:57 PM): Sleep fast, Phar! : )
fladrifv (5:23:08 PM) has entered the room.
fladrifv (5:23:13 PM): Aiya
VardaValar1 (5:23:23 PM): Amazing the ping-pong a pair of casters can do with the baddies. : )
Eonwe Valar (5:23:25 PM): Heya Fladrif :}
VardaValar1 (5:23:27 PM): Aiya Fladrif!
Eonwe Valar (5:23:52 PM): Uldaman:
fladrifv (5:23:57 PM): an ent is never late...*grin*
Eonwe Valar (5:24:05 PM): A report from Varda on the News Page.
VardaValar1 (5:24:06 PM): Not to another ent. : )
Eonwe Valar (5:24:42 PM): "For the regular Wednesday night Horde get-together, Elwing's blood elf, Fangorn's orc, Sauron's tauren, and Varda's troll ran their little characters within the level 20's as a party in the Shadowfang Keep instance, wiping out every boss, quest, and completing Elwing's Paladin quest. And we still had time for dancing, joking, and flirting (mostly using the emotes)."
Eonwe Valar (5:25:15 PM): Wow, got it all in one copy/paste. That's one nice thing about AIM v6, out of the many wrong things :}
VardaValar1 (5:25:26 PM): aye : )
Eonwe Valar (5:26:02 PM): Anyone have any other gaming to report?
fladrifv (5:26:27 PM): red allert 3 if that counts
AriehnV (5:26:28 PM): hehe well i have been a bit on ad yesterday on my druid
VardaValar1 (5:26:37 PM): It counts. : )
Eonwe Valar (5:26:39 PM): Go ahead :}
fladrifv (5:26:50 PM): finished the russian campaign
arwenv1 (5:26:51 PM): I've been playing through the campagins of WC3
ArPharazonV (5:27:04 PM): namarie all
fladrifv (5:27:11 PM): namarie golden king
VardaValar1 (5:27:11 PM): Namarie!
AriehnV (5:27:16 PM): Namarie Phara :-)
ArPharazonV (5:27:49 PM) has left the room.
VardaValar1 (5:28:01 PM): That counts too. : )
fladrifv (5:28:11 PM): and chess ofcourse
VardaValar1 (5:28:18 PM): Game of kings!
fladrifv (5:28:51 PM): *wonder if the kings of old where smart enought to win the game*
VardaValar1 (5:29:14 PM): *shakes the board* Earthquake!
AriehnV (5:30:25 PM): its a very old game for sure
Eonwe Valar (5:30:45 PM): Any other gaming news?
VardaValar1 (5:31:15 PM): We'll try to keep it restrained. : )
WoW Argent Dawn:
AriehnV (5:32:07 PM): hehe no not from me apart from a bit of a surprise discovery just now in wow
arwenv1 (5:32:26 PM): congrats :)
AriehnV (5:32:26 PM): but i ll hold it back grin , athough i am well pleased
VardaValar1 (5:32:42 PM): You got us curious, so you might as well spill it. : )
AriehnV (5:32:55 PM): bhehe in K3 next to the flight master
AriehnV (5:33:15 PM): u know the guy who has *slightly used mounts(?
VardaValar1 (5:33:45 PM): Sounds amusing
AriehnV (5:34:04 PM): hehe yes u get loaned wind rider reins
AriehnV (5:34:23 PM): means a free flyer without even having learned to fly or pay for the thing
arwenv1 (5:34:25 PM): You have to have a flying mount to access some parts of Storm Peaks
arwenv1 (5:34:47 PM): They put it in so people can still quest there :)
VardaValar1 (5:34:51 PM): How long, and will the creature expire while you're flying?
AriehnV (5:35:03 PM): cool :-D can u use it everywhere?
arwenv1 (5:35:06 PM): Probably wont expire unless you leave storm peaks
AriehnV (5:35:11 PM): and how long ?
arwenv1 (5:35:20 PM): I dont know, I didnt need to use one
VardaValar1 (5:35:27 PM): That is good to know. : )
arwenv1 (5:35:33 PM): but from other flying mounts you get for purposes of quests, you cant go outside a certain area
arwenv1 (5:35:44 PM): but if you do, it warns you, then drops you off the mount with a parachute
VardaValar1 (5:35:52 PM): hehe
AriehnV (5:35:53 PM): hehe true
arwenv1 (5:36:32 PM): There is a red drake you get for a quest in Dragonblight
arwenv1 (5:36:46 PM): which you can use anywhere in the dragon wastes and one other area
AriehnV (5:36:49 PM): but back to the meeting with other topics get back to schedule :-)
arwenv1 (5:37:00 PM): and it doesnt have an expiration, so you can use it to do all  your quests and just turn that one in last :)
Eonwe Valar (5:38:24 PM): Ok, shall we start moving towards Tolkien now? Whisper me topics or you get one of mine :}
VardaValar1 (5:38:25 PM): Is that kind of unfair to those who went to the trouble of getting flying mounts?
arwenv1 (5:38:41 PM): I dont think so
arwenv1 (5:38:53 PM): You HAVE to have a flying mount to quest in Stormpeaks
arwenv1 (5:39:23 PM): and if someone is still new, and doesnt have 2k+ gold, would it be fair to them to not be able to quest there?
AriehnV (5:39:32 PM): ok that sorted that one out
AriehnV (5:39:54 PM): you may only fly in storm peaks , icecrown or scholazar basin
AriehnV (5:40:00 PM): with the loaned one#
arwenv1 (5:40:00 PM): :)
Eonwe Valar (5:40:00 PM): It's only 800 gold for regular flying mount training, 100 for the mount.
AriehnV (5:40:07 PM): yep indeed
Eonwe Valar (5:40:12 PM): You ought to hav ethat by hitting the Storm Peaks.
arwenv1 (5:40:14 PM): so thats almost 1k gold, but its another 1k for cold weather flying
AriehnV (5:40:31 PM): it was by reaching crystalsong
arwenv1 (5:40:37 PM): so.. 1.9k gold, and if you've bought other things..
arwenv1 (5:40:49 PM): there's also epic ground mounts and such too
Eonwe Valar (5:40:52 PM): Still doable by 77ish.
AriehnV (5:40:54 PM): but its useful indeed
Eonwe Valar (5:41:01 PM): Unless you're buying alot from the Auction House.
VardaValar1 (5:41:17 PM): Should be selling a lot to the AH too then. ;-)
arwenv1 (5:41:21 PM): It may be doable, but a regular flying mount goes anywhere it can fly
Eonwe Valar (5:41:22 PM): I'm not particularly concerned either way, but it's doable.
arwenv1 (5:41:31 PM): So its obviously better :)
VardaValar1 (5:41:41 PM): Aye : )
arwenv1 (5:41:44 PM): And there are some important rep factions and such in Storm peaks
arwenv1 (5:42:15 PM): Plus... if you dont have a flying mount, you can get the loaner too :)
VardaValar1 (5:43:43 PM): Thanks! We'll look for the used mounts. : )
VardaValar1 (5:43:58 PM): (and save for the flyer)
arwenv1 (5:44:03 PM): :)

Eonwe Valar (5:44:26 PM): OK, Tolkien time :}
Eonwe Valar (5:44:43 PM): Varda has made a contribution to the RP.
VardaValar1 (5:45:07 PM): Need Arien to check it out too. ;-)
Eonwe Valar (5:46:46 PM): Any comments on the RP, recent posts, etc?
VardaValar1 (5:46:47 PM): http://valarguild.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=MEORP&action=display&thread=469&page=3
AriehnV (5:47:31 PM): all right will do :-)
AriehnV (5:52:52 PM): wow you have been industrious in the last few days and that includes Menelvago
AriehnV (5:52:59 PM): i ve just read it
VardaValar1 (5:53:04 PM): Very good. : )
AriehnV (5:54:33 PM): hmm given Fralis tendency to independence he will take king Thrandruil's silence as consent or just sips away in the shadows after refreshing hinself and get s out to catch some fresh air and maybe check on the pony
AriehnV (5:54:44 PM): which is when Fainan hears him eh?
AriehnV (5:55:22 PM): or maybe rather patrol for any possible attacks
AriehnV (5:55:27 PM): that would suit him more
biortheythling (5:55:34 PM) has been invited.
Bior the Ythling (5:55:42 PM) has entered the room.
Bior the Ythling (5:55:56 PM): Aiya all
VardaValar1 (5:56:00 PM): Aiya Elladan : )
AriehnV (5:56:10 PM): aiya there Elladan :-)
VardaValar1 (5:56:34 PM): Thranduil was pleased. He wanted Frali to go. So Frali could be musing on that, in lieu of a flashback.
AriehnV (5:57:16 PM): good good was that in a previous post i have missed that
arwenv1 (5:57:47 PM): I'm off, see you folks later :)
arwenv1 (5:57:50 PM): Namarie
VardaValar1 (5:57:53 PM): Namarie, Arwen!
Eonwe Valar (5:57:55 PM): Take care Arwen
arwenv1 (5:58:00 PM) has left the room.
Eonwe Valar (5:58:02 PM): Watch out for Ret Paladins :}
VardaValar1 (6:00:04 PM): Arien, did you want me to find it and put it in here as a quote? It's not exactly a scene where Thranduil is talking directly to Frali, but an earlier comment on his usefulness for the mission.
VardaValar1 (6:00:14 PM): A request for Frali to go, actually.
Eonwe Valar (6:00:23 PM): Looks like Varda's post has Frali trotting off to come to Auros.
VardaValar1 (6:00:55 PM): Also, didn't Auros say he and Frali were going together?
Eonwe Valar (6:01:33 PM): Aye, Auros did because Frali's task is delivering messages to Rivendell. A safe bet that he wasn't stopping in Mirkwood :}
VardaValar1 (6:01:35 PM): So Frali might be wanting to talk to Auros about the upcoming mission and journey. Maybe about the pony being slow.
VardaValar1 (6:02:10 PM): Some of us might be carrying double, Frali and Estarion.
AriehnV (6:02:32 PM): yep indeed
AriehnV (6:02:44 PM): that would make sense
VardaValar1 (6:03:13 PM): Ok, I'd like to mention in other news
Eonwe Valar (6:03:19 PM): Go ahead.
VardaValar1 (6:03:31 PM): that Luthien-(T) is working on a new video.
VardaValar1 (6:03:42 PM): Luthien, would you like to tell a bit about the subject?
luthienathariel (6:04:37 PM): Suilad ..
luthienathariel (6:05:19 PM): I had the idea of making a similar video on the song of Earendil as the one that I made of Beren and Lúthien
luthienathariel (6:05:35 PM): with still images tied together
luthienathariel (6:05:53 PM): and music by the Tolkien ensemble
luthienathariel (6:06:08 PM): I got the idea because. well the poem is wonderful, of course
luthienathariel (6:06:20 PM): but the song is magic
luthienathariel (6:06:35 PM): it really brings it to life.. I love it.
luthienathariel (6:07:01 PM): so, well - to be continued :)
VardaValar1 (6:07:01 PM): Will you be putting the words on the pictures like subtitles as the song is singing it?
luthienathariel (6:07:09 PM): yes, I will ...
VardaValar1 (6:07:19 PM): That must take some tricky timing?
luthienathariel (6:07:34 PM): oh that's not hard at all actually
VardaValar1 (6:07:44 PM): o good. Helps me!
luthienathariel (6:07:47 PM): you can read the frames and listen to the words
luthienathariel (6:08:16 PM): no serious .. if you use a video editor it is quite easy
luthienathariel (6:08:26 PM): and if it is off, you just redo it
VardaValar1 (6:08:28 PM): Would you want two versions, one with and one without words?
luthienathariel (6:08:40 PM): maybe, yes
luthienathariel (6:09:10 PM): actually, with the other video, I have been wanting to translate the whole thing into Sindarin and make a version with those words too
VardaValar1 (6:09:14 PM): Let us know when you have it up! I'd like to put in a link to it on your site.
luthienathariel (6:09:17 PM): sure
VardaValar1 (6:09:25 PM): O wow.
luthienathariel (6:09:42 PM): but that is a lot of work, it is quite a long poem
luthienathariel (6:09:52 PM): I have three verses so far
VardaValar1 (6:09:54 PM): Can you also add your own speaking voice as a voice-over?
luthienathariel (6:10:02 PM): hmm
luthienathariel (6:10:13 PM): I think that would be a bit distracting
luthienathariel (6:10:29 PM): too full
VardaValar1 (6:10:44 PM): Not on this one. Just had an idea, may never use it. : )
luthienathariel (6:11:30 PM): yes, it might be useful  ... if youtube comes with multiple sound tracks :)
VardaValar1 (6:11:32 PM): Glorfindel spoke his original poem along with his original music, on our music section.
luthienathariel (6:11:39 PM): ah
VardaValar1 (6:11:55 PM): It wasn't YouTube, so I can't answer that.
luthienathariel (6:12:46 PM): I was btw looking on the page of the beren/lúthien video last week btw and saw that it had by now about 2400 view .. wow, that is quite amazing .. I was really surprised!
VardaValar1 (6:13:01 PM): It's really good to watch. : )
VardaValar1 (6:13:17 PM): And our site should be driving more traffic that way also.
luthienathariel (6:13:24 PM): and a lot of very friendly comments too
VardaValar1 (6:13:41 PM): Excellent  : )
luthienathariel (6:14:11 PM): k, I'll keep you informed, will mail the link as soon as it is up there
VardaValar1 (6:14:22 PM): Thank you!
VardaValar1 (6:14:31 PM): Anyone remember why Earendil was important to the story of the Silmarillion? Not you,
VardaValar1 (6:14:35 PM): Eonwe. ;-)
Eonwe Valar (6:14:42 PM): :}
luthienathariel (6:14:42 PM): but my goodness, the story of Earendil is
luthienathariel (6:14:44 PM): oh
luthienathariel (6:14:45 PM): ok
VardaValar1 (6:14:54 PM): Go ahead, Luthien : )
luthienathariel (6:15:00 PM): no, it's ok
luthienathariel (6:15:05 PM): I was like thinking out aloud
VardaValar1 (6:15:28 PM): Since it was about the story of Earendil, it's relevant.
luthienathariel (6:16:19 PM): it's hard to say. I usually lack words when trying to express these things
VardaValar1 (6:16:19 PM): Anyone here, please type aye.
VardaValar1 (6:16:20 PM): Aye
Eonwe Valar (6:16:31 PM): Aye
AriehnV (6:16:38 PM): post aye
VardaValar1 (6:16:42 PM): hehe
VardaValar1 (6:17:17 PM): We are all just typing our thoughts. : )
AriehnV (6:18:21 PM): Earendil wore the silmaril on his forehead when he was stearing the  ship in the sky as star to guide the Numeonreans to their Island, wasnt it?
luthienathariel (6:18:44 PM): no, not in particular
luthienathariel (6:19:02 PM): just as a sign of hope, if I remember it right
VardaValar1 (6:19:03 PM): True, Arien
VardaValar1 (6:19:15 PM): Also a sign of hope.
luthienathariel (6:19:41 PM): the Silmaril as lantern light
and banner bright with living flame

to gleam thereon by Elbereth
VardaValar1 (6:19:45 PM): But Earendil did something very important to the storyline.
luthienathariel (6:19:48 PM): herself was set, who thither cameand wings immortal made for him,and laid on him undying doom,
luthienathariel (6:19:55 PM): to sail the shoreless skies and come behind the Sun and light of Moon.
luthienathariel (6:20:16 PM): ...
luthienathariel (6:20:17 PM): for ever still a herald on an errand that should never rest
luthienathariel (6:20:24 PM): to bear his shining lamp afar, the Flammifer of Westernesse.
luthienathariel (6:20:38 PM): that's what the song says anyhow
luthienathariel (6:20:58 PM): it does not mention Númenor
AriehnV (6:21:21 PM): true ..aye that was Bilbo's song
VardaValar1 (6:23:55 PM): Remember why Earendil sought for Valinor? He was bringing the silmaril with him that Elwing had brought in her escape from the kinslaying.
luthienathariel (6:25:43 PM): he
luthienathariel (6:26:01 PM): he wanted to deliver the message to the Valar on behalf of the two kindreds
VardaValar1 (6:26:06 PM): Right!
luthienathariel (6:26:10 PM): to have mercy and pity on them
luthienathariel (6:26:14 PM): even the Noldor
VardaValar1 (6:26:15 PM): Others had tried the same thing.
luthienathariel (6:26:19 PM): yes
VardaValar1 (6:26:26 PM): What was different this time?
luthienathariel (6:26:39 PM): bc he bore the silmaril
VardaValar1 (6:27:02 PM): What was Earendil in race?
luthienathariel (6:27:04 PM): at least - that is *suggested* that it was because of that
luthienathariel (6:27:12 PM): he was half/half
VardaValar1 (6:27:13 PM): That is certainly part of it!
VardaValar1 (6:27:16 PM): Right.
VardaValar1 (6:27:26 PM): So he could represent both sides: human and elf.
luthienathariel (6:27:27 PM): Tuor and Idril
VardaValar1 (6:27:44 PM): Others who tried were all one or the other, and had no silmaril.
Eonwe Valar (6:30:36 PM): It is now half past two hours since this meeting began.Let's beang the gavel here and let those who wish to continue chatting do so in Aftermeeting.
VardaValar1 (6:30:38 PM): The question is answered and very well.
Eonwe Valar (6:30:45 PM): *bang
VardaValar1 (6:30:53 PM): *jumps*
Eonwe Valar (6:30:53 PM): *bangs the gavel*
AriehnV (6:31:11 PM): jumps
Eonwe Valar (6:31:24 PM): Meeting adjourned. We have found no ringbearer, but maybe next week, hehe :}
VardaValar1 (6:31:28 PM): hehe

After-meeting:
Eonwe Valar (6:32:11 PM): Arien, are you still awake enough to try to do something on LotRO?
VardaValar1 (6:33:43 PM): She's a bit busy with a potential recruit.
VardaValar1 (6:33:52 PM): Auros, want to go to LotRO or WoW?
Eonwe Valar (6:33:54 PM): ok, no worries then.
Eonwe Valar (6:34:02 PM): Hmm
VardaValar1 (6:34:09 PM): I'm going to LotRO. : )
Eonwe Valar (6:34:24 PM): Let me grab a drink to stall, er think about it :}
VardaValar1 (6:36:01 PM): I think Fangorn is in WoW, so you'll have a good time there too.
VardaValar1 (6:36:17 PM): Dracxil still game at all? He's welcome in any Valar channel.
Eonwe Valar (6:38:17 PM): back
Eonwe Valar (6:38:30 PM): He still games, not much in WOW or LotRO it seems though.
VardaValar1 (6:39:36 PM): Good to hear he's not totally drowned in work. Hi to him!
Eonwe Valar (6:40:19 PM): He says hi back :}
VardaValar1 (6:40:28 PM): awww : )
Eonwe Valar (6:41:45 PM): Hmm, I think I'll stop in LotRO, see how much I feel like playing :} I can fall back on WoW if I'm not that excited to be there, hehe.
VardaValar1 (6:41:58 PM): ok :-)
Eonwe Valar (6:42:28 PM): And if WoW doesn't help, I've got two games to get through so I can write reviews for them :}
VardaValar1 (6:42:46 PM): o my
VardaValar1 (6:43:05 PM): I have a ton of webwork and rl to do too. Better hit LotRO whilst we can!
Eonwe Valar (6:43:11 PM): :}
VardaValar1 (6:43:55 PM): Arien posted!
VardaValar1 (6:45:01 PM): Nice tension she put in there. : )
VardaValar1 (6:45:21 PM): Ok, I'm headed for LotRO. This little comp can't handle a lot open at once.
