After the meeting was underway a while, old versions of AIM started acting up. The only suggestion AIM and the forums give is to update. Apparently the problem accumulates over time after a room comes on. Individual side windows had no problem.

Eonwe Valar (4:21:51 PM): Gaming:
Eonwe Valar (4:21:57 PM): WoW:
Eonwe Valar (4:22:10 PM): Blizzard's got an event going for the Olympics.
Eonwe Valar (4:22:23 PM): Attend a battleground and stay until the end, and you get a tabard.
Eonwe Valar (4:22:47 PM): Win a battleground, and you get a shot at a pet. Not telling what kind in the chance some people may like it to be a surprise.
Eonwe Valar (4:23:09 PM): Nothing big, but some people like surprises :}
ArPharazonV (4:23:39 PM): it's about 25% to get it, I think
AriehnV (4:23:40 PM): its pretty random but i ve got mine on Fin
ArPharazonV (4:23:52 PM): got mine on Calaron too
Eonwe Valar (4:23:53 PM): I got my pet pretty easily :}
Eonwe Valar (4:24:20 PM): Lothar:
Eonwe Valar (4:25:05 PM): I also got a new pair of boots from all the honor I got in the process. Only 4 more pieces of T5+ level gear and my Ret Paladin will be ready to DPS in 5-mans, hehe :}
Eonwe Valar (4:25:26 PM): (I say that tongue-in-cheek, of course)
VardaValar1 (4:25:38 PM): LotRO big thing is Battle instances [Note: This is not pvp or pvmp, although additions have been made in the Ettenmoors as well. The Book 14 update added 6-man battle instances next to the stable master at Gath Forthnir in Angmar for level 50's, continuing the Book 14 story but possible to join without doing Book 14.They have prerequisites and are timed, done for marks and tokens if one has the quest, or just the tokens to add to the marks later. These are bartered at the pup tent next to the battle instance quest givers.]
AriehnV (4:26:01 PM): whats that?
AriehnV (4:26:13 PM): like our battlegrounds?
VardaValar1 (4:26:33 PM): no, sorry can't talk
Eonwe Valar (4:27:13 PM): I also joined Eowyn earlier in the week for a short bit in Duskwood.
AriehnV (4:27:14 PM): oki go on eonwe
Eonwe Valar (4:28:17 PM): Of course, Sauron, Bilbo, Elwing, etc were up to something or other during the week too.
Eonwe Valar (4:29:08 PM): LotRO: I'm guessing Varda's in the middle of something there right now :} [Note: Helegrod 24-man instance, then Rift run vs the Balrog afterwards while Glorfindel's hope was still on us.]
Eonwe Valar (4:29:33 PM): Some questing going on during the week there as well. [Note: Tons of questing and crafting. We also helped fend off random attacks by Amarthiel (run by a Dev) and her minions around the world, including the Ettenmoors, until Book 14 was completed.]
Eonwe Valar (4:29:49 PM): There's a festival ending soon in LotRO> [Note: Summer festival ends midnight today. Get your dances (four new ones too) and festival horse tokens now!]
Eonwe Valar (4:30:04 PM): The Ringlore gathering seems to be done for, at least for me as I can no longer get the quest. [Note: Correct. After our server of Landroval completed gathering 70,000 Ring-lore, the last part of Book 14 opened along with all associated quests and battle instances. Congrats and thanks to the many of us who fought for lore held by servants of the Enemy, many of our people fighting daily on multiple characters, to open this world event.]
Eonwe Valar (4:31:17 PM): Elrond was supposed to hand out some sort of pocket item if my e-mail from the LotRo guys is any indication, but it's likely tied to some quests my character is too low of a level to do, since he wasn't talking to me.
Eonwe Valar (4:31:57 PM): I presume the Fellowship will be departing Rivendell soon. [Note: Book 14 update added Rivendell quests for players to join in to help the Fellowship with preparations to leave, and to be present when the people of Rivendell say farewell as the Fellowship leaves. The Fellowship is no longer found walking around Rivendell, although to allow completion of earlier quests they are now found indoors, not quite all in the same place, so as not to break immersion.]
Eonwe Valar (4:32:17 PM): Anyone play anything besides WoW or LotRO this week?
ArPharazonV (4:32:26 PM): oh, lots
ArPharazonV (4:32:53 PM): mostly the games I played last week  Guild Wars, TA:Kingdoms: The Iron Plague...
ArPharazonV (4:33:10 PM): and a small game called Rainforest Adventure
ArPharazonV (4:33:25 PM): which is basically Bejeweled, jungle-style, with some fun twists
ArPharazonV (4:33:48 PM): I'm sure you know what Bejeweled is?
ArPharazonV (4:34:55 PM): basically a field of tiles
Eonwe Valar (4:35:10 PM): Hmm, I guess my last message didn't get through...
ArPharazonV (4:35:15 PM): hmm, indeed

VardaValar1 (4:45:34 PM): You don't have to have completed Book 14, although it's a bit of a spoiler if you haven't.

VardaValar1 (4:53:46 PM): I hope you can read this.

VardaValar1 (4:54:07 PM): I'm going to copy paste a Tolkien moment from Eonwe's side window.
ArPharazonV (4:54:59 PM): ok
VardaValar1 (4:55:00 PM): Since AIM isn't cooperating, we're going to wrap the meeting up, but we're still going to end it with a bit of Tolkien...
ArPharazonV (4:55:07 PM): !
VardaValar1 (4:57:03 PM): Eonwe has a Tolkien moment for us, typing now.
VardaValar1 (4:59:53 PM): Eonwe Valar: "'But last night I told you of Sauron the Great, the Dark Lord. The rumours that you have heard are true: he has indeed arisen again and left his hold in Mirkwood and returned to his ancient fastness in the Dark Tower of Mordor.

VardaValar1 (5:00:47 PM): Eonwe Valar: "'But last night I told you of Sauron the Great, the Dark Lord. returned to his ancient fastness in the Dark Tower of Mordor.
VardaValar1 (5:01:13 PM): The rumours that you have heard are true: he has indeed arisen again and left his hold in Mirkwood and returned to his ancient fastness in the Dark Tower of Mordor.
VardaValar1 (5:01:29 PM): That name even you hobbits have heard of, likea shadow on the borders of old stories.
VardaValar1 (5:01:44 PM): Always after a defeat and a respite, the Shadow takes another shape and grows again.'
VardaValar1 (5:01:54 PM): 'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo.
VardaValar1 (5:02:40 PM): 'So do I,' said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
VardaValar1 (5:03:56 PM): And already, Frodo, our time is beginning to look black. The Enemy is fast becoming very strong. His plans are far from ripe, I think, but they are ripening.
VardaValar1 (5:04:33 PM): We shall be hard put to it, even if it were not for this dreadul chance."
VardaValar1 (5:04:38 PM): End quote.
VardaValar1 (5:05:14 PM): Eonwe Valar: "A Shadow of the Past"
VardaValar1 (5:05:22 PM): From Pharazon-V:
VardaValar1 (5:05:32 PM): ArPharazonV: AIM support forum seems to suggest upgrading...
VardaValar1 (5:05:42 PM): ArPharazonV: it seems this problem has been occurring over the last week from time to time
VardaValar1 (5:05:54 PM): ArPharazonV: http://messageboards.aol.com/aol/en_us/articles.php?boardId=565563&articleId=40820&func=5&channel=AIM+Message+Boards you might want to post, or have on the website, or whatever... a thread where the problem is described
Send Message Failed. Message is too long.
VardaValar1 (5:06:25 PM): you might want to post, or have on the website, or whatever... a thread where the problem is described
VardaValar1 (5:06:40 PM): Incidentally, my (Varda's) is upgraded.
VardaValar1 (5:07:12 PM): Here's another post from there on the problem.
VardaValar1 (5:07:17 PM): from Phar:
VardaValar1 (5:07:53 PM): actual thread:
VardaValar1 (5:08:54 PM): This is from Varda, I get a lot of error messages about copy/pastes being too long to post, although they posted in the side window.
VardaValar1 (5:09:06 PM): Thus I'm cutting them to a sentence at a time.
VardaValar1 (5:09:40 PM): Any further messages that you would like me to post?
VardaValar1 (5:10:33 PM): Arien says
VardaValar1 (5:10:42 PM): i ll try downloading the latest version tomorrow and then we find out next week

After-meeting:
VardaValar1 (5:12:30 PM): Eonwe Valar: It's odd how it just all of a sudden happened in the meeting chat though.
VardaValar1 (5:12:39 PM): Eonwe Valar: It wasn't a problem for at least a full 30 minutes.
VardaValar1 (5:12:49 PM): AriehnV: i mean in Lotro , just mentioned that i got to Book four on Arienwyn
VardaValar1 (5:13:01 PM): AriehnV: and been on AD in Wow playing a bit on the priest but not been able to meet up with Valandil and Pharzi
VardaValar1 (5:13:14 PM): ArPharazonV: it seems, according to the thread, that if you change rooms or roomnames, problem disappears for a while
VardaValar1 (5:13:25 PM): ArPharazonV: and then comes back
ArPharazonV: so maybe because our room was "new" it took a bit of time
VardaValar1 (5:13:37 PM): AriehnV: but saw in the member list that they both had been logging on
VardaValar1 (5:14:03 PM): Not sure why I managed to stay in.
VardaValar1 (5:18:12 PM): Eonwe Valar: It'd certainly be interesting to see the code that's creating this problem.
VardaValar1 (5:18:23 PM): Yes, I upgraded.
VardaValar1 (5:18:46 PM): Hello from Anc and Beleg in LotRO.
VardaValar1 (5:21:13 PM): [Kinship] Ancbeard: i plan on replacing the laptop with a lighter one before too long, then i can set up my old one permanently at home
VardaValar1 (5:21:28 PM): Then he will have AIM and be able to join us again.
VardaValar1 (5:22:40 PM): This is cool. I can copy paste from LotRO too, and they are here with us that way.
VardaValar1 (5:24:05 PM): [Kinship] Ancbeard: i was thinking of naming my legendary axe when i get one in moria, 'Rukhfelak'. waddya think?
VardaValar1 (5:24:22 PM): Paraphrased means Orc chewer.
VardaValar1 (5:25:20 PM): Legendary weapons are coming up in LotRO.
VardaValar1 (5:25:38 PM): You can name them then "grow" them, skill them up as you game.
VardaValar1 (5:25:52 PM): [Kinship] Ancbeard: according to that website you gave me varda, felak means a tool that dwarves use or as a verb, the use of that tool. or was that felek? i forget...
VardaValar1 (5:37:37 PM): Ok, gang, I'm going to close out AIM. Will mention that Arien dropped into LotRO with us. Be glad to see any of you there.
VardaValar1 (5:37:42 PM): *bangs gavel*
VardaValar1 (5:37:46 PM): Namarie for now
