VardaValar1: A story from Cassia and Siobhan is currently being edited
but should be up during the week.
VardaValar1: Otherwise, I have no new webwork. Anyone else?
VardaValar1: Gaming Reports:
VardaValar1: We now have a special day for each of the large branches.
VardaValar1: Monday is for LotRO, Wednesday for WoW Uldaman, Thursday
for WoW Argent Dawn, Friday for WoW Lothar server.
VardaValar1: Most of you know these already, although Thursday is new.
VardaValar1: Has anyone played a game this week that is not LotRO or WoW? : )
ArPharazonV: More Empire Earth: Art
Eonwe Valar: I played Guitar Hero 2,
Fladrifv: Starwars galaxy trail
Eonwe Valar: and Kirby Canvas Curse.
AriehnV: Played a bit Frozen Throne
and Well of Soul :-) Managed
to save two ships ;-)
ArPharazonV: at the moment I'm playing Julius
Caesar chasing Pompey around Greece...
MrMonkey2002Blah: I played Hearts of
Iron 2... It's a turnbased strat based in WW2 era.
Alatarvalar1 has left the room.
VardaValar1: Sounds like quite a variety
VardaValar1: Any of you have the same games you just heard mentioned?
Fladrifv: all of them :-)
VardaValar1: Nice! Fladrif can join up with any of you : )
VardaValar1: Don't forget you can use AIM to call to each other for a
game, rather as we were using Battlenet : )
Report for Monday:
VardaValar1: Alatar, Ancalagon, Arminas, Beleg, Finduilas, Irmo,
Legolas, Melkor, Merry, Miriel, Orome, and Varda.
VardaValar1: Those were the ones I saw : )
VardaValar1: We had higher level grouping with those in their 30's and
lower level grouping for those in their upper teens.
VardaValar1: Leveling, questing, crafting, swapping, chatting.
VardaValar1: I do not know which quests were going on, but a lot of
people were grouped with each other
VardaValar1: Arien, WoW Argent Dawn report?
AriehnV: Yes indeed
AriehnV: a short one ;-)
VardaValar1: Go ahead, please : )
AriehnV: On thursday Pharazons Rogue, Caldros, and my Shaman
Draeneivrin got together to search for a certain gem
AriehnV: at Mog Rosh Stronghold
AriehnV: There we met two other fellow fighters interested in those
ogres, joined forces and after a little while we found the gem , after
which we helped the other two to bring down Chok Sul
AriehnV: Caldros promised Draeneivrin to make two water breathing
potions, so cooperation seems to work
AriehnV: She will start her water Quest
AriehnV: And report from the outlands is that Finduilasse reached the
fulness of age, meaning lvl 70 :-)
AriehnV: this endeth my report
AriehnV: anything to add, Phara?
VardaValar1: Thank ou, Arien, and congrats on topping out on the levels!
ArPharazonV: oh, yes
ArPharazonV: I couldn't remember the exact name of the shaman who
wanted the potions, so I sent them to Finduilaswen
ArPharazonV: you'll have to pass them along
AriehnV: oki dok , will do
ArPharazonV: allright, I don't think I have anything else to add
VardaValar1: Thanks, Phar
VardaValar1: Fladrif, go ahead.
Fladrifv: Thank you Varda
Fladrifv: I want to add that I will quit wow for some time
Fladrifv: the reason for this is that mmorpg games take too much time
and focus too much on one game, in change I will play more different
Fladrifv: also will I move badk to warcraft3
VardaValar1: Will you be in East?
VardaValar1: Valar channel? : )
Fladrifv: so sorry you people on wow,
Fladrifv: thanks for the good time :-)
AriehnV: /me lets out a long drawn sigh
Fladrifv: *pats Arien and burns some branches*
VardaValar1: You folks also have WC3 and might catch him there
Fladrifv: and plan to battle with arphar and more on different games
Eonwe Valar: *Seizes this moment to remind everyone to keep their
gaming info up-to-date on the Games Page*
ArPharazonV: sounds good to me.. I'll still be playing WoW, but after
getting exalted with the n-th faction this week I'm running out of
things to do with my main, so I'm allright with playing other games
from time to time :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks, Fladrif and everyone
VardaValar1: The best way to keep the Games Page up to date is to email
Lothar report, Eonwe?
Eonwe Valar: I'm afraid after long hours for finals week, I didn't
spend much time at all on WoW Friday.
VardaValar1: Sounds as if you have your priorities straight. : )
Eonwe Valar: I know Fangorn and Bilbo were playing together, and Elwing
came on before I left.
Eonwe Valar: That's all I have to tell.
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe : )
Uldaman. I was late and missed Elwing. So it was a similar story.
VardaValar1: We need those players in here to report. : )
VardaValar1: At least it keeps the gaming section short. ;-)
MrMonkey2002Blah has left the room.
VardaValar1: Fladrif was just
mentioning how difficult it is to make any story or art or game match
with every person's imagination
VardaValar1: Does this mean, however, that we should not do any story,
art, or game based on a book?
VardaValar1: It does mess with the individual's imagination of the
book, seeing another interpretation.
VardaValar1: The person may even feel angry, seeing his favorite parts
rendered in a way not fitting his thoughts.
Eonwe Valar: I think if adequate attempts are made to stick to the
established lore/spirit of said lore, there's nothing wrong with it. In
the case of games, involvement of the story's creator helps.
VardaValar1: We've seen this over and over in rants from a great many
Fladrifv: Im interested in what trades are made due to all influences
from abroad like films fan art and movies
VardaValar1: JRRT is not alive to help PJ or LotRO. What do we do there?
Eonwe Valar: Christopher Tolkien is. I think he's dug through his
father's lore enough to qualify at least as a substitute.
VardaValar1: I have seen so many versions of any particular character,
that I am rather toughened to new ideas. Such as that one is cool, that
one is really off.
VardaValar1: But I enjoy seeing the various interpretations, or could
not run our Tolkien site. ; )
VardaValar1: I doubt if we can consult Christopher for every story or
image. But I wonder what he thinks of Balrog wings. ; )
VardaValar1: He might actually know!
VardaValar1: Do we have another topic?
VardaValar1: Who were mothers that we saw in Middle-earth? : )
Eonwe Valar: Rose Gamgee :}
Eonwe Valar: Galadriel
Eonwe Valar: *nudges room* There's plenty to choose from :}
VardaValar1: (Irmo says hi)
VardaValar1: He's heading for bed
ArPharazonV: Miriel, Indis...
ArPharazonV: so many indeed!
VardaValar1: Ok, guess we're pretty much not here. : )
VardaValar1: *bangs gavel*
VardaValar1: Go party!
ArPharazonV: I'm here!
VardaValar1: (Beleg just suggested Lobelia)
VardaValar1: Hiya Phar : )
AriehnV has left the room.
VardaValar1: Merry is in LotRO now
VardaValar1: Beleg, Merry and I are getting into talking about the Fall
VardaValar1: Irmo calls "Melian" as he logs off. : )
Eonwe Valar: Morwen
Eonwe Valar: Ungoliant.
VardaValar1: I"m passing these to the LotRO crowd :-)
ArPharazonV: Ungoliant's a good one!
Eonwe Valar: \No one ever thinks about the evil ones :}
VardaValar1: Lobelia wasn't exactly evil...
VardaValar1: They got a kick out of Ungoliant : )
VardaValar1: Aredhel is getting a mention again, but people are also
giving who they are mother of. : )
VardaValar1: Don't guess RingCast/Elrond is going to get to tell about
his LotRO site with the PodCast
RingCast: Oh, I guess I will :-)
RingCast: RingCast is a weekly LOTRO podcast that covers the latest
news and info about the game, as well as in depth discussion on some
aspect each week. You can subscribe on iTunes or at our website at www.ringcast.org
ArPharazonV: what's a... podcast?
Eonwe Valar: podcast, like ipod.
RingCast: An online/downloadable audio show.
RingCast: iPod is not required to listen or download it.
ArPharazonV: not familiar ipods, heard about them often enough, but
didn't know you could download audio stuff for them
ArPharazonV: *familiar with
RingCast: If you go to our website, you can click "Listen online", and
it will go to a player. Our 4th episode will be online sometime tonight.
