Eonwe Valar: This week it was Eonwë, Varda, and Fangorn in
Terrokar Forest on Draenor.

Eonwe Valar: We completed "Cure for Zahlia," "Fate of Tuurem," "The
Eyes of Skettis" quest line, and "Skywing."
Eonwe Valar: The firstthree were standard fare, getting items, checking
stuff out, etc. The last was an escort quest, but it required something
no other escort quest has: jumping to another building platform.
Eonwe Valar: Also, we marched into danger as opposed to trying to
escape from it.
Eonwe Valar: So try it if you can :}

online begins March 30th for those who pre-ordered the game, and

Eonwe Valar: The one coming to mind for me right now is concerning comparisons of characters, what they were
compared to, etc :}

Eonwe Valar: Actually, I fully admit I should reread the Hobbit.
Eonwe Valar: after about 7 readings of LotR and 3-5 of the Sil, not
including rereading of small sections for research, the Hobbit has
become a bit fuzzy to me.
TwoSurlyDwarves: yeah, like me and bits of LotR after focusing on HoME
and the Sil for so long
Eonwe Valar: My most recent peek at the Hobbit was when I was looking
up info on Erebor, Dale, and the Arkenstone for the RP.
TwoSurlyDwarves: yeah, I tend to use it like a reference book and
forget sometimes that it's a great story
Eonwe Valar: Hmm, I don't suppose one of your references to him being
compared to a rabbit falls under that part of the book? :}
TwoSurlyDwarves: Nope, all of them happen before Mirkwood - I'll give
you that much
Eonwe Valar: heh, ok
TwoSurlyDwarves: I've been rereading The Hobbit lately, reminds me of
when I was 7 and handed my first copy
Eonwe Valar: I read the Hobbit in my teens. Could've read it before, no
real urge to before then :}
Eonwe Valar: I read LtoR for the first time at 11.
TwoSurlyDwarves: ahh
Eonwe Valar: *LotR
TwoSurlyDwarves: I had the chicken pox when I was seven, and was bored
out of my mind. My uncle handed me The Hobbit, and I read it in two
days.
TwoSurlyDwarves: When I saw him next, I asked him what was next
TwoSurlyDwarves: So he handed me LotR, and I read that in about a week
and a half.

when I started collecting the HoME series.

Orodreth V: but with the elves paving the way, and then teaching the
humans, it lead to a better world for all (tm)
Eonwe Valar: Well, Elves are in nature similar to the Ainur. Perhaps
they came first to ease the transition to a short-lived world.

FinduilasV: well they had learning .. they taught Men to read and to

They thought they were in a dream at first.

FinduilasV: Then the Elves had townships, artefacts, houses , towns ,
things unknown to men
VardaValar1: Some humans escaped their slavery under Morgoth and
entered Beleriand where Finrod first found them.
FinduilasV: well fortresses and towns , cities i should say
VardaValar1: He earned the title "Friend of Man"
VardaValar1: The humans who stayed with the Elves showed a similar
effect to the Elves who were near the Valar.
VardaValar1: They were longer-lived, stronger, taller, better-educated.
VardaValar1: They became the Edain, kings of Men.
VardaValar1: So the Elves trained up those who would lead Mankind after
they came out from under the thumb of Morgoth.
FinduilasV: yes only the three houses that stayed friendly with the
Elves were called Edain
VardaValar1: The Elves made up for the damage caused by Morgoth, and
perhaps improved mankind beyond what they would have been, since Man
knew how bad it could really be.

VardaValar1: We found that kinship rules have changed and will affect
us on the upcoming wipe, the one for Open Beta when all of you with
pre-orders can come in.
Sarujil: i hope some of you have pre orders :-)
VardaValar1: I'll be buying the new Mixed Race Kinship Charter so we
can have any race.
VardaValar1: I do, Eonwe and his brother do
Eonwe Valar: So there's different types of charters now eh.
VardaValar1: Aye. Charters are by race.
VardaValar1: It's much easier to start together with the same race.
VardaValar1: I start out as an Elf, using Fainan as the name each time,
as it won't be taken normally, being invented from Quenya.
VardaValar1: But after leaving newbie zones, we can all get together in
the same area
VardaValar1: So mixed race is not a problem.
VardaValar1: The charter requires 6 members inside 24 hours.
VardaValar1: So we have to get together within that time or buy a new
charter.
VardaValar1: Since I have the only character with an easily
identifiable name, it's been the one for contact. So it's the one who
buys the charter.
VardaValar1: Any officer can invite.
VardaValar1: I've been giving "officer" status, not Maia status,
VardaValar1: to people who show up a lot and help out in the branch.
VardaValar1: They help other members join in.
VardaValar1: Huge help!
VardaValar1: Ancalagon and Dis have been a great help that way. : )
VardaValar1: Orome and Melkor have too, but on a little less.
VardaValar1: Melkor has been on vacation and will be back mid-April
VardaValar1: When LotRO goes live, we would like to use the Valar Guild
forum for listing our crafting and where we are in the book and chapter
quests.

group of characters together to run them.
