After-meeting

Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
FinduilasV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: greetings
ArPharazonV: AKA
ArPharazonV: Aiya!
FladrifV has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Heya
FinduilasV: Aiya together
Arwen V1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Arwen still having problems I see?
Eonwe Valar: Guess so
ArPharazonV: well, Flad, like the murloc song I sent you?
Eonwe Valar: Couple more mins to see who shows then we'll begin.
Eonwe Valar: Looks like this'll be a quick meeting.
ArPharazonV: oh, before we start
ArPharazonV: I noticed Finduilas referred to me as Calaron in the rp
Eonwe Valar: Ah, I remembered noticing that.
FinduilasV: yes and someone referred to Auros as Eonwe hehe
FinduilasV: just modified that
ArPharazonV: while I understand why the mistake was made, for the sake of continuity, it might be corrected? ;-)
ArPharazonV: ah, ok
Eonwe Valar: hehe
Eonwe Valar: It can happen :} There have been times I've almost done the same.
Eonwe Valar: Particularly with Menel/Estarion for some reason, heh.
FinduilasV: *grin"
FinduilasV: /me chuckles
ArPharazonV: there are times I almost called myself Calaron too
ArPharazonV: With a slight stagger in his walk, Estarion followed Auros into the Throne Room. Just before entering, a last warning from Eonwe not to make fools of themselves, Estarion redoubled his efforts to walk straight...
ArPharazonV: now that's impressive
ArPharazonV: using Auros and Eonwe in the same post, a mere sentence away
Eonwe Valar: heheheheeh
FinduilasV: hmmmhe
Eonwe Valar: Now that's great, makes it sound like I'm warning you guys not to make fools of yourselves in your posts :}
ArPharazonV: indeed :-)
FinduilasV: it greatly amused me
Xseanzee disco has entered the room.
FinduilasV: Aiya there whoever you are :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya.. Gil-galad, unless I'm mistaken?
Eonwe Valar: Sounds right :}
Eonwe Valar: That's Gil-Galad, Aye :}
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
FinduilasV: aha Lady Elentari comes :-)
Eonwe Valar: Ok guys, let's go ahead and begin :}
VardaValar1: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: Varda just made it :}
VardaValar1: *waves*
Eonwe Valar: She slid through as I was shutting the door :}
ArPharazonV: our door is always open!
Eonwe Valar: Whisper any and all news to me for inclusion. I'm going to try and make this expeditive.
LouieKisKowsKi has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Heya Elros :}
LouieKisKowsKi: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya : )
Arwen V1 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Gee, everyone's walking in just in time :}
LouieKisKowsKi: sorry as usual i cannots tay actually
Eonwe Valar: You showed, Presence noted :}
LouieKisKowsKi: sunday evenings are bad for me, i love you all much, namarie
VardaValar1: Namarie, Elros :-)
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
LouieKisKowsKi has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Take care Elros :} At least you stopped by :}
Eonwe Valar: Remember to read the Notes! :}
Eonwe Valar: Ok guys, let's get this show on the road.
FinduilasV: woosh and gone
top

Eonwe Valar: Elenn sila lumenn omentielvo!
Eonwe Valar: Membership news: Varda and family are going on vacation soon. I'll still be here for your day-to-day needs, though :}
Eonwe Valar: Thror is now playing WoW, and hopefully that means we'll get to see him on Lothar :}
VardaValar1: My comp is lagging badly.
Eonwe Valar: He e-mailed and says hi to everyone :}
top

Eonwe Valar: Web news:
Eonwe Valar: New art for Cassia-(TV)'s cave
Eonwe Valar: For her and Siobahn's Mellon Chronicles.
Eonwe Valar: The art can be found from the Tolkien section of the page btw, or from the encyclopedia.
VardaValar1: We also have a News page for each Tolkien site section
AuSteinM has entered the room.

Eonwe Valar: Gaming:
Eonwe Valar: WoW-General>
Eonwe Valar: Warcraft has invaded MySpace, for those interested in that particular site. More info on Blizzard's WoW page.
Eonwe Valar: Phar's found a site broadcasting WoW radio. Want to tell a bit and give the link, Phar?
ArPharazonV: ok, let's start with the link
ArPharazonV: http://www.wcradio.com/
ArPharazonV: it doesn't broadcast all the time, but there are certain "shows" on regular times, concerning WoW
ArPharazonV: surrounded by and including a lot of songs, most of them having to do with WoW
ArPharazonV: it also has funny WoW commercials and all that... what any radio would have, but WoW-themed
ArPharazonV: it usually broadcasts evenings or early nights in Europe, and thus afternoons and evenings in the US
ArPharazonV: so if you ever find yourself WoWing, questing, instancing, raiding, whatever, and you don't know what music to put up on the background:
ArPharazonV: I advise WoW radio!
Srekal86 has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: I just put up my entire music collection :}
ArPharazonV: the times for the shows are at http://www.wcradio.com/shows.php, although the music usually starts a little earlier, like half an hour or more
ArPharazonV: also, on the first page, you can see what's on, or when the next show will be on
ArPharazonV: to start it, when a broadcast is on, you can click on the link saying "tune in" or something at the top
ArPharazonV: you'll be asked to download/open a short file, and then winamp (in my case, would be different for others probably) starts playing the radio
ArPharazonV: and that's it for WoW radio!
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Phar :}
Eonwe Valar: Phar also got Exalted with AD this week, and I got Revered :}
Eonwe Valar: So we completed our goals from last week as was hoped :}
ArPharazonV: aye! and this Friday, going to Naxx, I therefore was able to get my new leatherworking patterns
ArPharazonV: and now I'm 4 (!) leatherworking patterns short... in the entire game
ArPharazonV: almost there!
Eonwe Valar: GL :}
Eonwe Valar: Finduilas got Honored with Darnassus as well :}
Eonwe Valar: WoW Lothar Questing Report-
Eonwe Valar: This week Eonw, Varda, Fangorn, Arathorn, and one of Fangorn's aquaintances on WoW went into Blackrock Depths.
Eonwe Valar: (Pardon, but I apparently forgot to jot the guy's name down.)
VardaValar1: Keeferjann, guild-friend
Eonwe Valar: Keeferjann, aye, that's him. Thanks Varda :}
VardaValar1: My pleasure
Eonwe Valar: We had a list of things we hoped to get done, and got a good chunk done :}
Eonwe Valar: First on the list was Marshall Windsor and the Shadowforge Key.
Eonwe Valar: After finding him in the jail, we went after the warden and killed her, but a bunch of guys came out of nowhere and got us.
Eonwe Valar: Her body was gone before we got back, but luckily I already had the key from a previous visit :}
Eonwe Valar: We then made our way for Fineous Darkvire. Unfortunately, when we got to him, Keefer had to go, but Merry stepped in with his mage to fill the gap :}
VardaValar1: Merry has a very mean fireball. :-)
Eonwe Valar: We took down Darkvire, swiped Ironfel, and the pryomancer boss in front of Tharussan's statue, and everyone got the Shadowfroge key :}
Eonwe Valar: *Shadowforge
Eonwe Valar: Then we made our way to the bar.
Eonwe Valar: Tempted by the repair bot schematics sitting on the floor next to a boss, we had to give him a try :}
Eonwe Valar: After a death, we decided to just steal the plans from under his nose, and the blacksmithing ones in the back of the room as well :}
Eonwe Valar: Most of us got a new profession pattern that night I believe :} Myself (blacksmith) Merry (engineer), and Fangorn (leatherworker) at least :}
Eonwe Valar: Once we arrived at the pub after some grueling fights and some respawning, we dealt with the Thunderbrew Thief and a patron, Ribbly Screspigot.
Eonwe Valar: And got a quest for a love potion :}
Eonwe Valar: *Screwspigot, btw.
Eonwe Valar: We then convinced one of the patrons to break down the back door for us, and after the guys out back decided we shouldn't be there, we called it a night there :}
Eonwe Valar: I found the Thorium Brotherhood rep vendor in the bar, but sadly enough, he had nothing I could or would use.
ArPharazonV: love potion's a good quest for that... allows you to open the door without killing the patron or whatever in the future
Eonwe Valar: Aye Phar :} Tis why we picked it up :}
Eonwe Valar: Well that and it was a quest :}
ArPharazonV: indeed :-)
Eonwe Valar: I believe that does it for WoW, so LotRO now-
ArPharazonV: oh, before I forget, I believe one of the shows on WoW radio was about LotRO as well
ArPharazonV: let me check
Eonwe Valar: LotRO is now in the Alpha phase, which according to the page includes both alpha and beta testing somehow.
Orodreth V has entered the room.
Oessala has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: ah, yes
ArPharazonV: At the Sign of the Prancing PonyEvery Saturday at 5:00 PM EST / 10:00 PM GMT
ArPharazonV: At the Sign of the Prancing Pony with RivanLord and TucksMa is the #1 Podcast about the upcoming MMO Lord of the Rings Online - The Shadow of Angmar and WoW Radio's first non WoW Podcast.
Eonwe Valar: So, some few people who signed up for the beta may get to test out LotRO soon.
ArPharazonV: if you don't care about WoW news, you might want to pay attention to that show too :-)
Eonwe Valar: hehe
ArPharazonV: *even if
ArPharazonV: sadly I can't listen to it for you, because I'm rarely home on saturday evening
ArPharazonV: but if you listen, might find it useful
Eonwe Valar: Varda is our leading lady for LotRO, so talk to her for more info on guild info for signing up for the beta and such like that :}
Eonwe Valar: Thanks Phar :}
ArPharazonV: np, just thought I'd mention it while you brought up LotRO, sorry if I messed up your own news item :-)
VardaValar1: The sign up is currently linked on our News page and easily reachable from the LotRO's own forum.
Eonwe Valar: One more piece of info about LotRO and then I think we can move to Tolkien (whisper me Tolkien topics now)
Eonwe Valar: Remember how a while back LotRO was saying they had no plans for raiding? Well, they changed their mind.
Eonwe Valar: Apparently there will be raiding, but they have limited max raid size to 24 (for now).
Eonwe Valar: That is 4 Fellowships (groups) so it sounds like that also tells us the group size.
Eonwe Valar: Namely, 6
ArPharazonV: tch, not even 9?
Eonwe Valar: They claim that raiding won't be the only way to progress your character, and that good loot won't only be limited to raids, so we'll see if they can stick to that.
Eonwe Valar: For more info on this, read A Raiding We Will Go at http://lotro.turbine.com/index.php?page_id=20&pagebuilder[module]=article&pagebuilder[display_item]=130
Eonwe Valar: Ok, end of business. Time for Tolkien :}
VardaValar1: One more thing
VardaValar1: Orodreth, did you have a report?
Eonwe Valar: Ah, pardon.
Oessala: Nothing here. No sightings of any Valar guild members in WoS or Eve.
Eonwe Valar: One more thing from me for gaming as well, actually.
Oessala: Other than that, got my golem to 100, and there was a short, victorious war (for my alliance) prosecuted by pirates against us on Eve.
Eonwe Valar: Today, I managed to get a certain collector's edition of a certain game by a certain annoying game company for half its retail price.
Oessala: Actually, I'm getting rich again, so if you join Eve now, I can shower you in moderatly expensive gifts! Yay.
Eonwe Valar: Congrats Orodreth :}
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: Finduilas says she deleted WoS when she lost steering control
VardaValar1: Congrats Eonwe, I think. : )
Eonwe Valar: (The above is why I came in a couple of minutes after the hour, actually.)
Eonwe Valar: So, once I'm done with it, assuming no one beats me to it, I will write a review and let you all know if Battle for Middle-Earth 2 is worth your money.
ArPharazonV: ooh
Eonwe Valar: Or, if I don't agree with the review written, I will still write my own.
VardaValar1: afk, group arriving for trip
Eonwe Valar: Any further business before we move to the fun part?
top

Eonwe Valar: Ok, Tolkien time:
Eonwe Valar: First up, Finduilas would like to know as much as she can about her namesake (Finduilas the Elf) so that she can better roleplay the part.
Eonwe Valar: So what do we know about Finduilas the Elf?
Eonwe Valar: First, she's a Noldo :}
ArPharazonV: daughter of Orodreth
Eonwe Valar: She lived in Nargothrond in the First Age.
ArPharazonV: what do we know of her mother?
Orodreth V: Ar: No she's not.
Eonwe Valar: She seems to have had interest in Gwindor before he was taken to Angband as a slave .
Orodreth V: That was one of the erros in the Sil.
ArPharazonV: hm? *fetches Unfinished Tales*
Orodreth V: I'm the father of Gil-Galad, and Findulas was moved to...Finrod?
Orodreth V: No, someoen else.
Orodreth V: Can't remember who, offhand.
Eonwe Valar: Unless the Sil contradicts itself, it's typically considered canon.
VardaValar1: Finrod was childless, as he knew he would die. Foresight warned him.
Orodreth V: Hmm.
Eonwe Valar: Aye, Varda.
FladrifV has left the room.
Orodreth V: Wikipedia says that Findulas stayed my daughter..
Orodreth V: Hmm.
Eonwe Valar: I believe in the Sil there was a discussion between Finrod Felagund and Galadriel on that particular matter.
VardaValar1: Wikipedia is not necessarily correct, caution whenever not using original sources.
ArPharazonV: in the fragments from Unfinished Tales, she is indeed Orodreth's daughter
Orodreth V: At any rate, if she is my daughter, than her brother is indeed Gil-Galad.
Orodreth V: I know that much.
ArPharazonV: wasn't that the latest version?
ArPharazonV: wasn't Gil-galad the son of Fingon?
VardaValar1: UT includes old and new versions of various tales, such as the Elessar stone.
ArPharazonV: yes, but I believe the Narn was the latest version of Turin's story
Orodreth V: Christopher says Gil-Galad as Fingon's son was a mistake.
ArPharazonV: and in it, or one of the fragments that was yet to be implemented in the gap of the Narn, she was the daughter of Orodreth
Eonwe Valar: Gil-Galad was the son of Fingon.
Orodreth V: I can't find any reference to changing the parentage of Fildulas though, so I guess I made that up in my own head.
VardaValar1: Aye, UT says she's Orodreth's daughter
FinduilasV: Hey daddy :-)
VardaValar1: Sil says Finduilas is daughter of Orodreth. In agreement on both books there.
VardaValar1: You could be remembering an earlier re-shuffle and shuffle back. Gets confusing.
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: Findulas is def. my kid, and so is Gil-Galad.
Orodreth V: I think the quote I'm thinking of is from Peoples of Middle-Earth.
Orodreth V: Anyone have that? I'll find a reference.
Eonwe Valar: Again, Sil is typically taken as canon :}
VardaValar1: Xseanzee disco is Gil-galad-(V). *poke* Say hi to your sister! ;-)
ArPharazonV: I have i, somewhere...
ArPharazonV: *it
ArPharazonV: ooh, family reunion
Eonwe Valar: I have it as well.
Orodreth V: Okay.
Orodreth V: Google tells me the reference is on 349-51
ArPharazonV: the shibboleth of Feanor?
VardaValar1: Could just check the book index : )
ArPharazonV: ah, yes
ArPharazonV: page 349: the parentage of Gil-Galad
VardaValar1: Sil says Gil-galad is Fingon's son
ArPharazonV: actually, it seems Gil-galad is the son of Orodreth is the son of Angrod, and thus nephew of Finrod
VardaValar1: After Turgon's death, Gil-galad became the last High King of the Noldor
Orodreth V: Yea.
ArPharazonV: "Since Finduilas remained without correction in the last of the genealogies as the daughter of Arother (Orodreth), she became the sister of Gil-Galad."
ArPharazonV: "There can be no doubt that this was my father's last word on the subject..."
VardaValar1: I lost track Phar. : ) Which book are you quoting?
ArPharazonV: the Peoples of Middle-earth
VardaValar1: Thanks
ArPharazonV: page 349 :-)
ArPharazonV: chapter shibboleth of feanor, sub-heading the parentage of Gil-galad
Orodreth V: /me hugs google
Orodreth V: The glaring problem with Gil-Galad being Fingon's son is that he would have been High King of the Noldor after Fingon's death rather than Turgon.
Orodreth V: If I remember the succession right.
ArPharazonV: perhaps he wasn't old enough?
VardaValar1: Then a regent would be appointed.
ArPharazonV: true
Orodreth V: They wouldn't deny his right, no.
Orodreth V: So he had to be moved.
Eonwe Valar: This is assuming anyone was known to have survived Fingon.
Oessala has left the room.
Orodreth V has left the room.
Oessala has entered the room.
Orodreth V has entered the room.
Orodreth V: So I'm the father of the last High King of the Noldor.
ArPharazonV: you're also Finrod's nephew!
Orodreth V: Not his brother, right.
VardaValar1: So Gil-galad is son of Fingon.
ArPharazonV: no, son of Orodreth
Eonwe Valar: And by "known" I mean known to the Noldor.
Orodreth V: No, is son of Orodreth. The Sil got that wrong.
Orodreth V: Eonwe: got disconnected, can you repeat what you said?
Eonwe Valar: Eonwe Valar: This is assuming anyone was known to have survived Fingon.
ArPharazonV: well, it was to "recent" to apply it to the Silmarillion, since it wasn't actually altered in any of the stories.. so Christopher didn't put it in
ArPharazonV: he admitted in Peoples, however, that it would have been best to leave Gil-galad's parentage obscure
VardaValar1: If the stories aren't altered, it becomes a problem to claim it as being so.
ArPharazonV: *too "recent"
ArPharazonV: exactly... if you read part 10, I think, Tolkien was busy overthrowing his entire cosmology
VardaValar1: I don't envy Christopher!
ArPharazonV: but obviously, that couldn't be added to the Silmarillion
VardaValar1: Sometimes you just have to stop with the changes. : )
ArPharazonV: the moon was a piece of Arda Morgoth broke off and used as a refuge at one time
ArPharazonV: pretty interesting stuff, there
Orodreth V: The point is that Christopher decided what went into the Silmarillion. If he says he was wrong later, we have to take it.
VardaValar1: Good point
Eonwe Valar: And if he changes his mind again down the road?
Orodreth V: Well, we have to deal.
VardaValar1: Which he did several times.
Orodreth V: Can't really blame him for doing it.
Orodreth V: His father taught him. :p
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: No one is. Just gets tough.
VardaValar1: lol
VardaValar1: Real histories are just as messed up. : )
Orodreth V: No, they're worse. Less paper trail. :\
VardaValar1: heh
VardaValar1: That's why we must state our references at the bottom of the article. : )
VardaValar1: We know where it is in the paper trail.
VardaValar1: This prevents freezing up in fear of making an article that some other book might contradict.
Orodreth V: Assuming, of course, there was even paper then. We still don't know half of the minor gods of Greece, and the major ones have more conflicting information that the whole of E...
VardaValar1: You have to know how to read Celtic knotwork too. : )
VardaValar1: Feel free to send in a short article explaining the correction Christopher would have liked to make to the Sil.
ArPharazonV: papyrus, obviously!
VardaValar1: Anything at all that you find like that is very helpful to our Encyc
VardaValar1: If we want any records to stay, we have to put it in hard rock. : )
VardaValar1: and don't misspell!
ArPharazonV: rock can erode!
VardaValar1: Hope it fossilizes?
Eonwe Valar: Use marble, or mithril, or tilkal.
VardaValar1: The Turin story has all sorts of little and not so little changes to it.
ArPharazonV: write it in diamond!
VardaValar1: It's kind of fun to try to track them all.
FinduilasV: Thank you all ye lot
ArPharazonV: will take a while, but it'll be preserved for quite a while
Orodreth V: Use planets. Just take them out of solar systems, and line them up in huge letters. :p
FinduilasV: that was good to be reminded of
Orodreth V: Nah, diamond's too brittle.
ArPharazonV: brittle? are you kidding? it's the hardest mineral known to man
Orodreth V: Heh.
VardaValar1: A big carved moon face that no one decipher. ;-) At least it looks like one from a distance. heh
VardaValar1: Good luck with your article, Finduilas
Orodreth V: It's hard, not tought.
Orodreth V: tough*
VardaValar1: So which of you with the Peoples of M-e book is going to send in that addendum? Just take a few lines.
Orodreth V: (had to look up the exact term)
VardaValar1: Diamond bits are considered the best for drilling.
ArPharazonV: brittle Pronunciation (brtl)adj. brittler, brittlest1.a. Likely to break, snap, or crack, as when subjected to pressure: brittle bones.b. Easily damaged or disrupted; fragile: a brittle friendship. See Synonyms at fragile.
ArPharazonV: diamond is not fragile, not easily damaged, not likely to break, snap, or crack...
ArPharazonV: how is it brittle?
FinduilasV: Thanks Varda I like challenges ;-)
Eonwe Valar: It's too weak if it can be cut by a laser? :}
VardaValar1: We have lots of challenges. Typing correctly being one of them in this chat.
Orodreth V: Er, it is, Ar.
Orodreth V: diamonds shatter. :p
Orodreth V: It takes some force, but not extreme amounts.
Orodreth V: Could do it with a hammer and a bit of muscle.
Orodreth V: They're scratch-resistant...not shatter resistant.
VardaValar1: In the Sil geneology page, it leaves out showing any sibling to Finduilas
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: And it makes me the brother of Finrod.
VardaValar1: True
Orodreth V: It's all a matter of choosing when you decide you want to listen to Christopher.
ArPharazonV: and Gil-galad brother of Fingon, probably
VardaValar1: Gil is the son of Fingon there
ArPharazonV: exactly
Orodreth V: if you only listen to him int he Sil, Gil is Fingon's son. If you listen to him later and elsewhere, he's my kid, and I'm Finrod's nephew.
VardaValar1: so you will just have to make your short article with the change from the Peoples. : )
VardaValar1: Makes rp tough : )
ArPharazonV: what's in UT was Tolkien's last thoughts on the subject, but Cristopher just decided not to put those in at the time
VardaValar1: UT is not just the last thoughts. It has stuff from various versions.
VardaValar1: Have to watch out.
ArPharazonV: I know, but Christopher literally said it was J.R.R.'s last thoughts on the subject (at least that he could find, I suppose)
ArPharazonV: or his last word, actually literally
VardaValar1: Okies, I was being general. : )
VardaValar1: Feel free to email me your short article, Phar. : )
ArPharazonV: ehrr, right
ArPharazonV: I'll.. ehrm.. try to find time
VardaValar1: About five minutes? : )
ArPharazonV: *runs away*
TH0R0NGIL has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Finrod fka Thorongil!
VardaValar1: We were just discussing geneology related to yours. : )
VardaValar1: Gil-galad is whose son? : )
VardaValar1: Sil and UT are not in agreement.
ArPharazonV: (psst: WoW radio is now broadcasting again, in case you'd like to try it)
ArPharazonV: www.wcradio.com in case you'd lost the address
TH0R0NGIL has left the room.
ArPharazonV: hmm... I'm also working on another story of my WoW character, but I need to know: does anyone have any link with lore about the history of Astranaar, in Ashenvale?
Eonwe Valar: Ok, who scared Finrod away :}
VardaValar1: Arwen can't make it in here
ArPharazonV: or is it all up for grabs?
Eonwe Valar: Anything about Astranaar is going to likely be on their website.
Eonwe Valar: Be ready though, they'll probably change in it a few minutes :}
VardaValar1: : )
Eonwe Valar: Blizzard's been changing its mind about alot of it's lore recently.
VardaValar1: Probably due to the expansion
ArPharazonV: so if I wanted it founded by Calaron's ancestors, and originally a bit larger than it is now, although most of it sank beneath the water...
Eonwe Valar: But back to Tolkien. Did you want to know anything more about Finduilas, Finduilas? Since we kind of went off into the published story vs published with commentary :}
ArPharazonV: it wouldn't contradict anything afayk?
Eonwe Valar: I think that's biting off a bit much for a player character.
ArPharazonV: well, as long as it doesn't contradict anything...
Eonwe Valar: As far as I know it doesn't but that doesn't mean it doesn't.
FinduilasV: oh well i guess it s enough ;-)
Eonwe Valar: And a claim like that would seem to invalidate your entire character background with most of the Rpers I've seen.
FinduilasV: and roleplaying in my opionion is not about being 10 0 per cent correct
Eonwe Valar: It's about being believeable within the world you're roleplaying in though.
Eonwe Valar: Auros is not going to start shooting fireballs out of his eyes, no matter how powerful he is, because no one, not even Noldor, did that in Tolkien.
ArPharazonV: hmm... I'll write it anyway, starting with a disclaimer that it "may or may not be true" :-)
VardaValar1: How about right after you write up the Finduilas addendum? ;-)
FinduilasV: exactly Eonwe aye
ArPharazonV: well I already know what I wanna say in this one, Varda :-)
FinduilasV: ah well at the moment i rp only Frali any way
FinduilasV: /me chuckles
VardaValar1: You also know what you want to say on the Finduilas one. :-)
ArPharazonV: actually, I have no idea ;-)
VardaValar1: okies, I have to go
ArPharazonV: ok
VardaValar1: Just tell what the change was
ArPharazonV: I could just copy-paste then entire section if you want
ArPharazonV: *the
FinduilasV: yes mother hehe me two have to get up early for once
Eonwe Valar: You're also not going to all of a sudden find out Auros is a descendant of Fanor and a Maia, because Fanor didn't marry a Maia, and Elves just didn't go willy-nilly like that.
FinduilasV: might be in Wos for a bit
ArPharazonV: as I said, Eonwe... contradictions and all that.. different universes...
Eonwe Valar: Believe it or not, I've actually seen someone try to roleplay their character in the second manner I've said above.
ArPharazonV: granted, it would be more far-fetched than my rogue being a prisoner of the Mekgineer, or my mage being a half-elf conceived at the siege of Silvermoon in the second war...
ArPharazonV: but still, it's doable, as long as it's an addition, and not a contradiction
VardaValar1: I assume we are now in After-meeting? : )
ArPharazonV: pretty much
Eonwe Valar: I guess I should...
Eonwe Valar: *bangs gavel*
top

After-meeting:
Eonwe Valar: There, be free everyone :}
ArPharazonV: *retracts his broken hand* thanks for the warning
VardaValar1: I will be gone the rest of the week, but may be here Saturday or Sunday
Eonwe Valar: You all enjoy yourselves :}
VardaValar1: I may be able to check in on email and the Forum (rp!) while in Merry-(V)'s area. Swipe his comp
Orodreth V: /me grabs Ar's broken hand and pumps it
Orodreth V: Good ta meet ya!
Orodreth V: How ya doing?!
Orodreth V: /me grins
ArPharazonV: huh? what? oh, I don't feel my hand anymore, so I didn't notice you
Eonwe Valar: See, gavels are helping people everyday.
Eonwe Valar: Pharazon no longer feels his hand, so he no longer has to worry about it.
Eonwe Valar: And one less worry in this world mean one more moment of happiness.
Eonwe Valar: All is well.
Eonwe Valar: :}
ArPharazonV: well, it's still bleeding, that could be something to worry about
ArPharazonV: what kind of stuff is that gavel made of anyway?
Eonwe Valar: Ask Aul. He made it.
Eonwe Valar: I just wield it.
VardaValar1: Bones of the earth, likely
FinduilasV: ah well friends\
FinduilasV: I am afraid i have to go
Eonwe Valar: Take care Finduilas :}
FinduilasV: Namarie! Until we meet again
ArPharazonV: Goodnight Finduilas! see you in WoW!
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
VardaValar1: Namarie from here too
FinduilasV: yep )
Eonwe Valar: For more info on today's meeting, read every single Tolkien book in existence :}
FinduilasV: hahaha
FinduilasV: /quit
FinduilasV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Well, I think I'll head out too. I've got a new game to install, then
ArPharazonV: ok
ArPharazonV: have fun with the summoned Bombadil
Eonwe Valar: I'm torn between that, programming, playing WoW, or pumping out articles for the Encyclopedia.
VardaValar1: Do them all : )
VardaValar1: Install game first ;-)
Eonwe Valar: I've got to decide which of those things I'm going to do for the rest of the night, and somehow the programming and pumping out articles are looking very appealing..
VardaValar1: I may do some more on the stories page too
VardaValar1: if time permits
Eonwe Valar: If Menel stops in, tell his Auros says Estarion broke protocol :}
VardaValar1: Now working on the Mellon Chronicles series, finished up Jay's until she finishes Dimrill Gate
Eonwe Valar: *tell him
VardaValar1: !
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: Namarie, something's burning in the kitchen. : )
Eonwe Valar: I thought something inspiring might happen if I left my post where it was :}
ArPharazonV: Namarie!
Eonwe Valar: Take care :}
Eonwe Valar: Take care all, good night, sleep well, have fun, and get reading :}
VardaValar1 has left the room.
