Srekal86: allo mates, just got home.

VardaValar1: I don't think my inviter page is fully updated yet, if you happen to see someone
VardaValar1: Welcome home!
ArPharazonV: we are your family! the guild is your home!
VardaValar1: and Eonwe is your father, Luke... er, maybe not
Srekal86: heh
GilraenV: hahaha
Eonwe Valar: My parents would be surprised to learn I'm a father :}
GilraenV: <- not reading Star Wars fanfic, Really. ^^
Eonwe Valar: I would be moreso :}
VardaValar1: We tend to run the movies now and then. TV doesn't have much on : )
VardaValar1: heheh
sauron432000 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: aiya
sauron432000: Aiya everyone!
Orodreth V has entered the room.
sauron432000: Aiya!
Eonwe Valar: Heya
ArPharazonV: Aiya
ArPharazonV: hmm... I've been looking for the blood of the tormented from BRD, and it seems the key keeper spawns at random places....
ArPharazonV: already found 3 so far, but according to http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?wit em=11197 there are 6...
ArPharazonV: why do I have the feeling that with my luck, I'll discover them all before I can even get my hands on that key...
Orodreth V: /me sings Behind Blue Eyes
VardaValar1: are brown eyes? : )
Eonwe Valar: The Who original or the Limp Biskit remake?
sauron432000: u talking about warcraft?
ArPharazonV: I am, yeah, World of Warcraft
Orodreth V: The Who
Orodreth V: Limp Biskit ruined that song. Never mention it.
Orodreth V: Ever.
Eonwe Valar: I don't think it was terrible, but it's not anywhere near as good as the original.
Eonwe Valar: I have heard some ruined remakes.
VardaValar1: sauron43200 is Barahir-(V)
sauron432000: I knew that!
Eonwe Valar: I don't like it when they "adjust" the lyrics.
Eonwe Valar: If you're not going to be true to the song, don't touch.
VardaValar1: Like movie makers adjusting books? : ) Only worse since it's the same medium.
ArPharazonV: exactly, Varda, the adjustment between mediums is just because it's a different medium
ArPharazonV: within the same medium, there is no such excuse
Orodreth V: Rob Zombie's "tribute" to the Ramones was so wrong. He turned Blitzkrieg Bop into..something else.
ArPharazonV: you can't pour a book into movie-form literally and expect it to be doable or interesting
Eonwe Valar: The Ataris' remake of "Boys of Summer" would've been great had they not changed the lyrics in one place.
ArPharazonV: but when it goes from music to music, well... as I said, no excuse
Eonwe Valar: OK, let's talk about tributes :}
sauron432000: what tributes?
Eonwe Valar: A tribute should not exist for a brand new band.
VardaValar1: Send them to my address... ;-)
Orodreth V: Obviously.
Eonwe Valar: there is no point for a "tribute" to Linkin Park, for example.
Eonwe Valar: A tribute to the Rolling Stones, who have been around for about 30 or so years, is a different story.
sauron432000: what this tribute for?
Orodreth V: And tributes should be true to the original song -- that's the idea of a tribute. If you want to "reinterpret" the song, do a cover version like real artists.
Eonwe Valar: "Tribute" as in when other people remake the songs of another band .
GilraenV: I'm gonna go to bed folks... namarie
Eonwe Valar: and say it's "in honor of" or a "tribute to" that band.
sauron432000: thanks Eonwe!
GilraenV has left the room.
VardaValar1: Good night, Gilraen!
VardaValar1: She and I had a mini-meeting so she could go to bed
Orodreth V: Covers are fine -- that's how rock 'n' roll started. But a tribute album to an artist that's still in their prime? No.
ArPharazonV: an adjusted "tribute" seems like arrogance to me... you know, "let's honor the group by making what they have even better with our leet skills"
Eonwe Valar: I would say a tribute to a new artist, but same idea.
Orodreth V: Yea.
Eonwe Valar: Some people might think the Rolling Stones and Aerosmith are still in their prime, heh.
Orodreth V: Some people are kooks.
Menelvagor Valar: they are :-)
Orodreth V: Just becasue they're touring dosn't put them in their prime.
Eonwe Valar: I'm not really a fan of their new songs myself, but that's me :}
Eonwe Valar: The point is, Aerosmith and the Rolling Stones have been around a while, paid their dues, and contributed to music.
Orodreth V: An Elvis tribute album is a perfect tribute album. A Sterophonics album is not.
Eonwe Valar: Linkin Park, while I like them, have not been around long enough to warrant a "tribute" album.
Menelvagor Valar: who or what is Sterophonics? :-)
ArPharazonV: exactly!
Eonwe Valar: exactly to me or Menel? :}
ArPharazonV: well, exactly is in Menel's question seems to exactly prove your point ;-)
Eonwe Valar: :}
Orodreth V has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Glad we can all agree :}
Eonwe Valar: well, several of us :}
Eonwe Valar: I expect to see all you musicians telling other musicians they don't need to be doing a tribute album on you after 3 years now :}
ArPharazonV: well, it's always a compliment ;-)
VardaValar1: So you wouldn't mind? : )
Eonwe Valar: Bah, I'd tell them to get their own songs :}
sauron432000: can we talk about something I know plz?
sauron432000: :-$
VardaValar1: We will start the meeting, hang on
Eonwe Valar: Do the musicians where you live not do tribute albums?
Eonwe Valar: Or are you not big on music?
ArPharazonV: luckily, I'm not a musician, but if I was, I'm not sure whether I'd like tributes...
ArPharazonV: on the one hand, it's a compliment to our own fame and music
ArPharazonV: on the other hand, it's basically parasiting on our succes
sauron432000: Ther's not much of a band here and yeah I am not big on music. I only like soft music!
VardaValar1: What would you call soft music?
ArPharazonV: whistling? ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Pat Benatar? :}
VardaValar1: That could be a flute. Merry-V plays several of those
Eonwe Valar: She does some soft stuff if memory serves :}
sauron432000: the Indian movie songs. They have 5 songs in every movie. I like two them!
ArPharazonV: but true, soft music can be very good... it's not all metal and rock that makes the world go round
Eonwe Valar: Savage Garden has some soft stuff.
VardaValar1: Background for LotR movies : )
Eonwe Valar: I listen to almost anything but Country and Rap :}
VardaValar1: And you from Dallas!
VardaValar1: I will pass on rap too
ArPharazonV: whenever I go styledancing, I'm there just as much for the music as for the dancing... and that's mostly soft music
FallenGlory has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: for those who need a reference: Country = Garth Brooks and the Dixie Chicks, Rap = Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
ArPharazonV: nothing better than just sitting back and letting the music flow over you...
sauron432000: okay the meeting's about to start (Officially at least!)8-)
VardaValar1: 27 minutes ago
VardaValar1: Starting : )
VardaValar1: (But you can chat music in a side window!)

VardaValar1: yes, Gildor Inglorion
VardaValar1: Please take chat to side windows during the main meeting
Eonwe Valar: A star shines on the hour of our Meeting :}
sauron432000: OK!
VardaValar1: Please tell the chair in a side window if you have something you want to add so we can call on all and leave none out!
sauron432000: no nothing else!
VardaValar1: We have many active side windows : )
sauron432000: let's get on with it!
VardaValar1: Please quiet, Barahir

VardaValar1: His membership lapsed for the first time in a very great many years due to a problem with Hotmail
VardaValar1: It may have happened to some others as well
VardaValar1: Ugluk just messaged me! Just speak of him...
Ugluk of Old has entered the room.
VardaValar1: He is asking for a test, so we may have a couple of us pull out soon
VardaValar1: Aiya Orc :-)
VardaValar1: Now that's a name : )
VardaValar1: We are currently in Membership news
VardaValar1: Does anyone have any further member news?
VardaValar1: Caranthir and Elladan sent word

VardaValar1: Web News:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, I believe you had some web news?
Eonwe Valar: Gaming news.
VardaValar1: No Games page then?
VardaValar1: Shall we nudge a few people for updates on their games? : )
Ugluk of Old: Just like to Say hello to everyone...it's been a long time :-) ...I can't stay for long unfortunately...
Eonwe Valar: No, nothing new on the Games Page since the Update.
Eonwe Valar: Aye, send in your gaming info, and make sure it's correct on the Games Page.
VardaValar1: It needs to be emailed to Eonwe, or if you send it to me, I will forward it
VardaValar1: Those here already noticed the time change, kudos to you!
VardaValar1: Links Page:
ArPharazonV: heh, it happened in Europe too, so no problem there
VardaValar1: .The Fellowship of the Ring if it had used World of WarCraft terms. The link to this .gif is originally from expectnothing.com, found by Meriadoc-(V) on the WoW forum and sent to us Oct 23. Some language warnings.
VardaValar1: http://www.expectnothing.com/pub/posts/att ached/0002k1cc.gif
VardaValar1: Story Page:
VardaValar1: The Battle of the Crossing of Poros
VardaValar1: by Barahir-(V)
VardaValar1: It's up through chapter 5 as of a few minutes before the meeting
VardaValar1: It's still undergoing a minor rewrite, but you can look at it now if you like
VardaValar1: It's still incomplete, not all the chapters are up
VardaValar1: but it's going up fast!
VardaValar1: Barahir is here with us. What got you started writing on this subject, Barahir?
sauron432000: sry I was afk there!
sauron432000: Well, I warn you now. I drone when asked to speak!
VardaValar1: Luckily we supply our own inflections : )
sauron432000: I wanted to write a story about something in lotr but it had to be about a battle!I wanted a battle with some minor references so I could expand it aftermy fashion but I wrote two mystery stories before it!
VardaValar1: Now you have to write an LotR mystery : )
sauron432000: I went through the timeline for the zillionth time and what do I find? Just he lil mention about hte battle of the crossingts of the Poros and Voila! you got my story!
VardaValar1: Thank you
sauron432000: I made too many mistakes in that story, its full of mistakes. I am very incomptetent, I agree (not joking!)
VardaValar1: Since this is your first meeting since joining, you get to "say a few words" to introduce yourself, why you joined, where you're from
VardaValar1: It is in a second language for you, quite impressive
sauron432000: (Going to drone again!)
sauron432000: it may be second language in your opinion but it my first language whatever nayone says. English is so coool! Its has only 26 alphabets and great complex grammatical stuctures!
ArPharazonV: where are you from, Barahir?
ArPharazonV: probably not Western Europe or US then...
sauron432000: India. Chennai, East Coast. A stupis hot city where hope decieves you!
VardaValar1: But the fireworks are good? : )
sauron432000: You have'nt seen nuttun yet till tuesday, it might be on the news. But bad time for Delhi though!
VardaValar1: You guys have been having pretty fierce weather lately too?
sauron432000: I joined cuz I always wanted to join a tolkien group and do tolkien things.
VardaValar1: You're in the right place : )
sauron432000: Well weather annoyed coming in time of the quiz. Yes, you must have heard about the great floods of Maharashtra, Karnatka and Tamil Nadu!
sauron432000: (talking too much)
VardaValar1: Not yet
Ugluk of Old: Sorry I can't stay everyone...just thought I'd drop by. Hope to stay longer next time :-) ... Namarie
VardaValar1: I'll sit on you if you do
VardaValar1: Thanks for coming. Maybe later this evening : )
sauron432000: Namarie!
ArPharazonV: Namarie, Ugluk
Ugluk of Old has left the room.
sauron432000: Cool, Ugluk is the first one I said namarie to.
VardaValar1: : )
VardaValar1: got him added
VardaValar1: So you found us how?
sauron432000: I was researching about the Fall of Gondolin, I fount a small reference in UT. I searched the internet and what do I find? Nothing but a lil link to Eonwe's Paper on the Fall of Gondolin nad nice reflection of the fall by u, Eonwe!
VardaValar1: Actually, that was the previous Eonwe. This Eonwe did a lot of other articles though
LouieKisKowsKi has entered the room.
sauron432000: Then this Eonwe not that Eonwe!
VardaValar1: Aiya Elros
ArPharazonV: for the Fall of Gondolin, I'd suggest reading the second part of the series "The History of Middle-Earth"
LouieKisKowsKi: aiya everyone
ArPharazonV: it's one of the oldest texts in the history of Tolkien's world, but it's the best thing there is ;-)
LouieKisKowsKi: The fall of gondolin is one of the best stories with lots of intricacy as well
sauron432000: I can never get them. You don't how hard it was for me to get Sil. and Ut and Particularly the Hobbit! Sry if I do too many mistakes!
VardaValar1: You can't order online?
VardaValar1: We hope the Encyc gives you some help at least
LouieKisKowsKi: online you can always get them
LouieKisKowsKi: and at like Barnes and noble
VardaValar1: He's in India, sometimes tricky overseas
sauron432000: zat's a laugh. Order from US, the bill would skyrocket! The average Indian has three times smaller purchasing capacity than an American or Brit!
ArPharazonV: India, eh? Not affected by the earthquake or its consequences, I hope?
LouieKisKowsKi: ah
LouieKisKowsKi: I was unaware sauron i apologize
VardaValar1: Yes he was
sauron432000: You kidding Nuttun Nothing can shake Chennai neither a stupid earthquake or a tsunami or a mere hurricane. There has'nt been a hurricane for over 50 years. Kasmir and Gujarat get earthquake, Orissa gets flood. TN get no rain plenty.
VardaValar1: Your power was out about 10 hours and schools cancelled though
sauron432000: TN stands for Tamil Nadu, the state in whose Capital I live in!
ArPharazonV: I see
sauron432000: That was just a exception, there is first and last time for everything and that was it for rain in Chennai!
sauron432000: What in Heaven....WAIT!
ArPharazonV: wow, India does have a lot of different climatic systems, doesn't it? not like our small country on the westcoast of Europe...
sauron432000: I don't believe it!
ArPharazonV: it's raining?
VardaValar1: Phar, it would help to just say your country. He can't know all of the ones we are in.
sauron432000: ITs raining, drizziling yes but still raining!
VardaValar1: Congrats, Barahir : )
sauron432000: jus wanted to ask that. Thanks Varda!
ArPharazonV: hehe... how many small countries on the westcoast of Europe are there... but yes, I live in the Netherlands
sauron432000: Belgium and France and Spain are all small countries too!
sauron432000: Phar, you and Orion ever met literally?
ArPharazonV: haha... compared to India, yes, but us and Belgium are small even compared to France and Spain..
ArPharazonV: Orion?
VardaValar1: Menelvagor is a full constellation, actually
sauron432000: Menevalgor, that constellation is Orion in the real world. U know the cons with a bright belt like thingy!
sauron432000: Varda fast!
ArPharazonV: oh, right
ArPharazonV: no, I don't think I've ever seen him in real life...
VardaValar1: Too much coffee
sauron432000: its raining big time and I woke up at 2.30 and heard nuttun!
ArPharazonV: I've seen his picture on msn, and he's been in the relative neighbourhood several times that I know of, but haven't actually met him
sauron432000: Phar, you live in Amsterdam?
ArPharazonV: no, a little bit to the south of that, near Leiden
Menelvagor Valar: nope, some town more south :-)
sauron432000: hi mene!
Menelvagor Valar: not too near Leiden Phar :-)
Menelvagor Valar: hey.
VardaValar1: We don't have to tell towns unless we want to, because it helps identify us to strangers reading the transcript
Menelvagor Valar: sorry, just checking in once in a while, got some important schoolwork to finish for tomorrow.
VardaValar1: Good for you, Menel : )
VardaValar1: Menel and Phar play a lot of WoW together though, and come to these meetings a lot
LouieKisKowsKi: i have to go acrually as well
VardaValar1: Bye Elros!
Menelvagor Valar: not really, I had an entire week to finish it, but I chose the last possible hours to do it *grin*
ArPharazonV: well, it's the closest city near us... if we're not near Leiden, we're really in the middle of nowhere
Menelvagor Valar: that you are, Phar, that you are *evil grin*
sauron432000: but mene ur 24 right? You got no school or is it college or university!
ArPharazonV: that's the spirit, Menel! You start to remind me of me!
Menelvagor Valar: college
ArPharazonV: putting things off to the last minute...
LouieKisKowsKi: namarie
Menelvagor Valar: college is more wicked on these things than school is.
LouieKisKowsKi has left the room.
sauron432000: Namarie! (too late!)
Menelvagor Valar: you have absolutely zero leverage when it comes down to handing in dates.
ArPharazonV: yup, and since my work-attitude still lingers in the past of school, it's gotten me into a lot more trouble that it would have in the old days...
ArPharazonV: *than it would have
sauron432000: rain going to stop!
Menelvagor Valar: oh, it doesn't matter whether it rains, the sun is shining, whether there's a hurricane or a blizzard, when you gotta hand in your report, you gotta hand in your report.
ArPharazonV: through rain or snow, yup
Menelvagor Valar: of course, hurricanes over here tend to be a slight tad bit less powerful than the ones in the States ;-)
ArPharazonV: I have a thorough disliking of deadlines...
sauron432000: Not me! I don't do any work if the teachers don't set me any work!
sauron432000: without a deadline I mean!:-)
Menelvagor Valar: well, that´s the difference with college
ArPharazonV: neither do I, but that doesn't mean I like doing the work they give me before the deadline they give me
Menelvagor Valar: you´ve got half a dozen deadlines which the teachers didn´t set, but are there nonetheless.
sauron432000: zat's the student spirit!
Menelvagor Valar: the student spirit is more like `I´ll get the work done after a week of partying and trying to crawl home drunk as a lord`
ArPharazonV: hehe
VardaValar1: Sorry, off in side windows : )
ArPharazonV: replace the partying and crawling home drunk with watching tv and playing WoW, and you've got me
VardaValar1: Do we have any further web news?
VardaValar1: WoW sounds better : )
sauron432000: well I meant playing and watchin TV and reading all day and finishing the work in the nick of Time. I do that!
ArPharazonV: of course, after that week I still don't get any work done...
VardaValar1: Phar, do you have any web news? : )
VardaValar1: Menel, how about your WoW page?
ArPharazonV: web news? well, a bit of hybrid web-gaming
VardaValar1: no, your web page for this section
VardaValar1: Let's get this meeting going
sauron432000: (I am going to go quiet till Varda reaches tolkien topic!)
ArPharazonV: www.worldofwar.net which many of you already know, has gotten a complete makeover... unfortunately it seems to be unavailable at the moment
VardaValar1: Go to side windows, and chat yourself crazy : )
ArPharazonV: but personal web news? no, haven't got any webspace of my own
VardaValar1: Menel, had a chance to add anything?
VardaValar1: Menel may be back to homework
VardaValar1: I need to update the WoW Lothar players page from my jotted notes, hope to do so soon
VardaValar1: I'm also working on the info Gilraen sent in to show member activity
VardaValar1: Counts towards your Maia honor possibilities
ArPharazonV: ah, to have discipline and embrace the responsibility like that... I envy you, Varda
VardaValar1: You learn it by hard knocks : )
VardaValar1: Or really wanting something
VardaValar1: Two best ways I know.
ArPharazonV: so far, hard knocks have done nothing to actually improve my work-ethic... they just get me into deeper trouble for the current one
VardaValar1: Then figure out what you really care about and use it
VardaValar1: For school, I used to wonder why a person would devote his life to that subject, then I would become interested in it.
VardaValar1: Don't know if that would help you.
VardaValar1: I was summa cum laude that way, so it's not a bad technique
ArPharazonV: heh, when you apply that to education etc, I really have no idea what I want exactly... I steer in the general direction, but I really know too little of my wishes and dreams to use it for motivation
VardaValar1: Read outside of the subject, keeps it from being dry.
VardaValar1: ok, onwards!
ArPharazonV: indeed, onwards
VardaValar1: Elatan's Member page
VardaValar1: It has clocks on the bottom that help figure time all around the world and include EST
VardaValar1: They can help with nasty things like Daylight Savings Time
VardaValar1: I updated my Netscape Browser and can't read his member info on either Explorer or Netscape.
VardaValar1: He told me it was in my settings, and I hope to find the problem eventually.

VardaValar1: Gaming News:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, you had Gaming news?
Eonwe Valar: Yes I did :}
ArPharazonV: *holds back cheer*
Nemoeverlonely has entered the room.
Nemoeverlonely: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Herumor : )
Eonwe Valar: As some of you may know, Blizzcon, Blizzard's brand new gaming convention, started on the 28th.
Eonwe Valar: One of the things announced at their first annual convention was the title of World of Warcraft's upcoming Expansion Pack: The Burning Crusade.
ArPharazonV: *releases cheer aimed at Burning Crusade*
ArPharazonV: *cheers*
FarmerMaggotV: fortunately no mention of Diablo 3 being a MMORPG =)
Nemoeverlonely: Thank the powers for small favors..
Eonwe Valar: They've also released some information on the new Expansion pack at the Expansion's site of http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcru sade/
sauron432000: diablo 3?
ArPharazonV: I'm so looking forward to the Burning Crusade... already have the new wallpaper on my desktop ;-)
Eonwe Valar: The new race for the Horde will be Blood Elves.
Eonwe Valar: They haven't announced the race for Alliance, but I'm willing to bet it won't be High Elves now :}
ArPharazonV: well, discussions are greatening within our guild-chat... so far we're hoping for Pandaren :-D
Eonwe Valar: My brother would love that :}
VardaValar1: heheh
VardaValar1: Didn't they announce level 70?
Eonwe Valar: They'e also planning on a new crafting ability: jewelcrafting
ArPharazonV: I also launched the idea of a yellow dragonflight consisting of halfdragons ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Aye, there's also an increased the level cap to 70
bnetValar: Alasseo (IRC): Bugger Wo
bnetValar: Alasseo (IRC): W
bnetValar: Alasseo (IRC): I want Starcraft 2!
Menelvagor Valar: I think I missed something.
VardaValar1: Now that is good news.
bnetValar: Alasseo (IRC): *channels the spirit of Jim Raynor*
Eonwe Valar: Jewelcrafting may become one of my professions :}
VardaValar1: Raynor, my favorite guy in SC/BW : )
Nemoeverlonely: bleh:-(
VardaValar1: Will we be allowed to add a profession to what we have?
Eonwe Valar: (I liked Tassadar :})
ArPharazonV: I already know that whatever the new race is, I'm gonna give him jewelcrafting...
Eonwe Valar: Probably not
Nemoeverlonely: Zeratul
VardaValar1: He was cool too, Eonwe
Nemoeverlonely: >all
VardaValar1: And add more slots to the account to cover new races : )
Eonwe Valar: Let's not get into Starcraft please :}
Eonwe Valar: Would be nice, aye Varda
VardaValar1: :-X
Menelvagor Valar: In Starcraft nothing owns a Zerg Overlord! *grin*
ArPharazonV: what was the name of that orange cerebrate?
VardaValar1: What Eonwe said
Eonwe Valar: They've got some screenshots and Artwork on the WoW:BC page (There, I coined the abbreviation :})
Eonwe Valar: The Artwork is quite nice, and set one of them as my desktop image :}
Eonwe Valar: *and I
Eonwe Valar: THe new continet added in the Burning Crusade will be Outland, and accessed through the Dark Portal.
Eonwe Valar: They're also talking aobut flying mounts in Outland.
Eonwe Valar: I'll elt you read the rest :}
Eonwe Valar: *let
VardaValar1: Definitely will do that!
Eonwe Valar: But yes, I am looking forward to it :}
ArPharazonV: I also heard more info, gained from reviews of magazines, including instance-details
Eonwe Valar: And once more, here's the web site: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcru sade/
ArPharazonV: not sure if the info is true or not, but it's a lot more than what's just on the website...
ArPharazonV: just too bad the forumthread was part of the website I linked earlier, and which isn't working...
ArPharazonV: perhaps I'll give you the link next week
VardaValar1: That would be something to look forward to
ArPharazonV: hmm.. I just got into the forums... maybe I can find the link for you tonight
VardaValar1: cool
VardaValar1: Let us know if you do
VardaValar1: WoW Lothar report available, Eonwe?
Eonwe Valar: Aye
Eonwe Valar: This week's questing was Me, Varda, and Arathorn.
VardaValar1: (Thursday we had over a full party though)
ArPharazonV: http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.ph p?p=3579364#post3579364
Eonwe Valar: We went into Zul Farrak with my Paladin, Varda's Hunter, and Arathorn's Rogue.
ArPharazonV: that's the one, even has links to the article
Eonwe Valar: We were going after the Divino-Matic Rod and Nekrum's Medallion, and completed the Scarab Shells and Troll Tempers quests on the way.
Nemoeverlonely: I've lost my copy of diablo and diablo 2:-(
Eonwe Valar: We got to the temple where Bly and his buddies were being held, and fought well for some time, until all of a sudden very large groups started coming up. We were holding them off barely, but after a while
Eonwe Valar: we couldn't hold them back and they overwhelmed us.
Eonwe Valar: We were pulling in a fourth person (Draxcil/Beline) to try again, but when we got back there, the whole thing looked buggy.
Nemoeverlonely: sorry to be constantly adverse to the current subject, err..but does anyone here play age of wonders II: shadow magic, or Stronghold?
Eonwe Valar: So we just called it a night there.
sauron432000: its 5.15 here!
Eonwe Valar: That concludes the Weekly Questing report from me.
Menelvagor Valar: Eonwe, did you have a healer and a mage of some reputation with you=
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe
VardaValar1: Neither, Menel
VardaValar1: Two paladins though
Menelvagor Valar: that might explain it a little *grin*
VardaValar1: We know
VardaValar1: We just wanted to try it : )
Menelvagor Valar: hehe
Menelvagor Valar: nothing wrong with that, but having a 60 mage blizzarding his bottoms off helps a great deal.
VardaValar1: Been a long time since I've been in ZF. Kinda fun
VardaValar1: Tell the other guildies to show up late Friday and we can : )
Menelvagor Valar: of course, Multi-Shot on a hunter might help a bit too.
VardaValar1: Don't try Volley
Menelvagor Valar: hey, I show up late friday.
VardaValar1: Brings them all to you
VardaValar1: Not on Lothar : )
Menelvagor Valar: unfortunately, that is the time when Garr, Geddon and Shazzra are being beaten on Argent Dawn :-D
VardaValar1: You guys could have a Valar Friday in Europe too! : )
VardaValar1: okies
VardaValar1: Do you have your WoW Europe report?
Menelvagor Valar: which remind me, how was it friday after the third guy Phar?
ArPharazonV: after the third guy? that was... Gehennas?
Menelvagor Valar: well, information has not been really forthcoming since I resigned the AD group
Menelvagor Valar: Henny, yup
ArPharazonV: I got to offtank one of Garr's adds!
Menelvagor Valar: Wooohooo!
ArPharazonV: did good too, never lost aggro
Menelvagor Valar: go Druid tanking power!
ArPharazonV: Geddon went good, got him in one try
Menelvagor Valar: too bad we wipped on henny.
Menelvagor Valar: wiped*
ArPharazonV: Shazzrah.... well, the firelords in the area were respawning by then, so we wiped once there too (luckily there were soulstoners)
ArPharazonV: so we waited for the adds, killed them, then went back to the second try
ArPharazonV: and got him good!
Menelvagor Valar: great!
Menelvagor Valar: on saturday we also subdued Majordomo, the 2nd in command in Molten Core
ArPharazonV: how did Ragnaros go?
Menelvagor Valar: he´s a really big wimp and surrendered after we beat down his minions.
ArPharazonV: hehe
Menelvagor Valar: and with really big, I mean REALLY big.
Nemoeverlonely: It was nice seeing you guys, but I need to get off here and get some supper, I will try to see you all next sunday
VardaValar1: Bon appetit, Herumor : )
ArPharazonV: goodbye, ....who were you again?
Nemoeverlonely: Namarie
ArPharazonV: ah, Herumor
Menelvagor Valar: bon appetit and namarie
Nemoeverlonely has left the room.
Menelvagor Valar: didn´t go for Raggie
ArPharazonV: ah, allright
Menelvagor Valar: I might even say I saved the day on Major *grin*
ArPharazonV: you just bolted after Major was down...
ArPharazonV: hehe
Menelvagor Valar: they were short on mages
Menelvagor Valar: wonders do happen...
VardaValar1: Report done? : )
Menelvagor Valar: so when I logged in on my rogue (now 40!) to get a couple minutes of playtime, I was prompted to get in there and help out sheep one of the adds.
Menelvagor Valar: eek, long time lol
VardaValar1: Any other games played this week? Just mention, please.
VardaValar1: This can be from anyone.
ArPharazonV: oh, BWL was fun too, were you there, Gondo?
Menelvagor Valar: this was more or less our MC report *grin*
Menelvagor Valar: nope.
Menelvagor Valar: will get there with Echo though.
ArPharazonV: well, we learned a lot of new things... after wiping about 3 ours on Razorgore
ArPharazonV: *hours
Menelvagor Valar: anyways, back to homework, still got some stuff to finish off.
ArPharazonV: we didn't achieve one bit, but the fun we had... amazing
VardaValar1: Not everyone here plays WoW, so we would rather not have it take too much meeting space.
VardaValar1: The fun is the purpose, aye : )
ArPharazonV: ok, moving on then :-)
VardaValar1: That was us in ZF : )
VardaValar1: So no one played any games this week other than WoW?
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: I will take any topics you have, but our current one is:
sauron432000: Yay!(sry)
VardaValar1: Bravery against hopeless odds in Tolkien's works.
VardaValar1: This can be any Tolkien book.
VardaValar1: Examples from anyone?
sauron432000: the defense of the hornburg against sarumans hordes!
sauron432000: the defens of Minas Tirith against sauron
ArPharazonV: Beren and Luthien against Morgoth's stronghold
Arwen V1: drat, I cant remember if it happened in the book like it did in the movie, but Faramir going back to fight at Minas Tirith
Eonwe Valar: The Wars of Beleriand
ArPharazonV: Finwe standing up to Melkor
ArPharazonV: yes, Faramir did go back to take back Osgiliath... is that what you meant?
VardaValar1: Arwen, Faramir did go to fight hopeless odds at Osgiliath, just not quite like that.
sauron432000: what about the attack on the Morannon, even gandalf said that was hopeless!
bnetValar: Alasseo (IRC): This time my net borked. I'm back now.
VardaValar1: The Wars of Beleriand, that covered a lot : )
ArPharazonV: yup, the battle of the black gate was pretty hopeless
VardaValar1: Welcome back, Orodreth, against hopeless odds!
Eonwe Valar: I thought it would :}
ArPharazonV: they would've lost too, if Frodo didn't destroy the Ring
VardaValar1: Frodo carrying the Ring to Orodruin
VardaValar1: Sam having any luck with Rosie *oops*
sauron432000: zats not a battle!
VardaValar1: Says you ; )
ArPharazonV: how about Gollum tracking the powerful Fellowship in search for the Ring? is that bravery against hopeless adds?
Eonwe Valar: The Battle at Losgar when Morgoth launched a surprise attack as Fëanor and his sons had just landed.
VardaValar1: Aye, it is
sauron432000: and are'nt we supposed to talk about whether fleeing is cowardly or not!?
VardaValar1: This is examples of bravery against hopeless odds
VardaValar1: The Nordic courage that Tolkien was fascinated by
VardaValar1: Hurin swinging out against the enemy to let his elf friends escape, though he would die
MrMonkey2002Blah has left the room.
VardaValar1: He was "only" captured and made to see his family destroyed, but you know what I mean.
ArPharazonV: how about the last march of the ents? not exactly hopeless at the time, but when they set out, they didn't know Isengard was empty
sauron432000: and what about Gandalf and the Balrog!?
VardaValar1: Fangorn expected it to be the last march of the Ents, aye
VardaValar1: Right
VardaValar1: Gandalf was already tired
VardaValar1: Gandalf did not know he would have a chance to be reborn
sauron432000: and what about fingy and morgoth1 but he was fey at that time!
VardaValar1: How about the Fellowship trying to go into Mordor
VardaValar1: but glorious : )
sauron432000: zats sheer desperation!
VardaValar1: Morgoth had to live with those wounds
ArPharazonV: how about the Fellowship trying to cross the pass of Caradhras?
VardaValar1: Aye
sauron432000: zat was desperation again!
ArPharazonV: not really, moria was more desperation than Caradhras :-)
VardaValar1: Aye : )
sauron432000: I wonder if fingy's sword prevented Monster Heal like in Diablo II?
sauron432000: are'nt we supposed to talk about whether fleeing is cowardly or not!?
VardaValar1: So we can see this idea presented as a good thing over and over in Tolkien's mythology
VardaValar1: What did that have to do with the original subject?
sauron432000: I dunno!
VardaValar1: The Nordic idea was to continue fighting no matter what, not to run
ArPharazonV: presented over and over and over and over again....
ArPharazonV: some call it repeatable acts of glory and bravery.... but it can look like a bit godmody sometimes
ArPharazonV: remember, of all the 9 fellowship, only 1 (permanently) died
ArPharazonV: considering all the hardships they went through in their journeys, that can surely be called a miracle
Eonwe Valar: actually, Merry, Pippin, and Aragorn all died eventually.
sauron432000: Well I think that if it is really thinnk If its hopeless the army should flee and live to fight another day like in the Nirnaeth or the Battle of Morannon by King Ondoher! That prevented disaster!
ArPharazonV: yes, of old age
ArPharazonV: but you get my point
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya
sauron432000: aiya!
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Legolas did not die, but he was hit with the Sea-longing and could never inherit. He lost a bright future
sauron432000: has anyone ofyou got Sea-longing ? Ihave. I really like the sea. We have the second longest beach here!.
sauron432000: but I dunno swimming!
ArPharazonV: Gimli and Legolas each took out like 40 orcs at Helm's Deep, each.... are we really supposed to believe they're that much more powerful? or is it luck too that has kept them alive?
VardaValar1: So some took injuries that might not be obvious
ArPharazonV: sometimes the victory against hopeless odds seems a bit unrealistic..
VardaValar1: If they had not survived, they would not be in the book
sauron432000: but it always happens in Lotr!
VardaValar1: All those sorts are just a name in a list at the end of the battle
sauron432000: the hornbur, pelennor nad the morannon all sheer victories against odds!
Glorfindel VG has left the room.
sauron432000: well, silent!
Eonwe Valar: Leaders/Kings are supposed to be among the best warriors of the people.
ArPharazonV: true, but I would say, that if the peoples of Mirkwood and Erebor were half as powerful as their representatives in the Fellowship, they would have easily overwhelmed Dol Guldur
VardaValar1: Gollum went against hopeless odds and died
Eonwe Valar: *their\
VardaValar1: Boromir went against hopeless odds and died
VardaValar1: Gandalf went against hopeless odds and died. Reborn later, but he died
VardaValar1: G
sauron432000: sacrifice the few to save the few to save the many!
VardaValar1: Frodo was injured physically and mentally and wound up taking a boat to Valinor
VardaValar1: Almost all the elves lost their lands and left
ArPharazonV: yet Frodo and Sam survived, Merry and Pippin survived, Aragorn survived (out of the countless arrows aimed at him, how could he still be alive?)
sauron432000: power of the author!
Srekal86: I don't know about losing their land, are you sure?
VardaValar1: People do survive battles or I would not have any family : )
Eonwe Valar: Gimli did take an injury during the battle in the Caves at Helm's Deep if memory serves.
VardaValar1: The elves whose lands were protected by Rings lost them
ArPharazonV: yes, a gash in his forehead
ArPharazonV: that orc must have had bad aim
Eonwe Valar: Merry took an Injury
VardaValar1: Lothlorien was almost cleared after
Eonwe Valar: Pippin took an injury
VardaValar1: Merry had a scar the rest of his life on his head
VardaValar1: Pippin nearly died on the Pelennor Fields
sauron432000: have we ever discussed do balrogs have wings or not?
VardaValar1: Yes
ArPharazonV: the only orcs even capable of hitting Merry and Gimli, don't seem to have the strength to do more than a small gash
VardaValar1: So you guys think that the whole Fellowship should die to be realistic?
VardaValar1: They weren't really trying to kill Merry, but to capture him
sauron432000: well yes and no,
ArPharazonV: against those odds, yes
VardaValar1: People do survive battles against great odds
ArPharazonV: unless Orcs are extremely weak and cannon fodder
VardaValar1: They were not the only targets or even the most important
sauron432000: But they all survived because they had the favour....
VardaValar1: Favor helps
Eonwe Valar: So, it's ok for "someone" to be watching over Frodo and guiding his steps, but not anyone else in the Fellowship?
sauron432000: the favour of the author!
VardaValar1: The Valar were operating. Gandalf told us of it
ArPharazonV: pitch 100 orcs against 9 fellowshippers, and the fellowship comes out alive with the orcs all dead... it just seems a little...
ArPharazonV: rambo-ish
Eonwe Valar: Frodo was "meant" to find the Ring. Why can't there be something the rest of the Fellowship was "meant" to do before they died?
VardaValar1: Bilbo was "meant' to find the Ring
Eonwe Valar: er, Frodo was "meant" to inherit the Ring.
VardaValar1: The elf and dwarf were meant to patch up a long hatred between their peoples, and bring them into friendship with man
sauron432000: and gandalf was "meant"to guide them and him!
Glorfindel VG has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Gandalf was sent
VardaValar1: Welcome back : )
Menelvagor Valar: woohoo
Glorfindel VG: thanks my pc seems to be having a problem
VardaValar1: 4 of 5 sent to help didn't do their job
ArPharazonV: so the Orcs were all "meant" to die although they have overwhelming odds? that seems a little cruel...
VardaValar1: of the Istari
Menelvagor Valar: almost done!
ArPharazonV: grats, Menel
Eonwe Valar: Heroes/Leaders/Kings are supposed to represent the best of their people.
VardaValar1: The Orcs were not meant to die. They could have run off and been groups of bandits : )
Eonwe Valar: Fëanor stood against 7 Balrogs. Fingolfin stood against Morgoth.
Menelvagor Valar: and be killed later for banditry
VardaValar1: If the heroes were not the best, why did the Valar choose them for the Fellowship?
sauron432000: they were meant to die by the author!
ArPharazonV: and they both died, Eonwe
Eonwe Valar: Turin stood against Ancalagon.
ArPharazonV: Ancalagon?
Eonwe Valar: er, Glaurung.
sauron432000: no aginst glaurung
Eonwe Valar: Don't ask where that came from :}
VardaValar1: *grabbing a plate of supper and will be back in a jiffy*
ArPharazonV: well, I believe he will face Ancalagon at the Final Battle...
sauron432000: Earendil stood against Ancalagon!
Menelvagor Valar: because Ancalagon was the first as was Glaurung, except Anca had wings=
VardaValar1: (Orcs were an abomination, not meant to exist)
sauron432000: not stood actually
ArPharazonV: he flew!
ArPharazonV: together with a flock of birds
sauron432000: well tell that to morgoth, he was their maker
Menelvagor Valar: Earendil flew against Ancie, on his beloved ship, and now hallowed vessel of the Silmaril, Vingilot.
sauron432000: you call thorondor a flock of birds?
sauron432000: ancie? (zat funny)
ArPharazonV: was Thorondor actually there? don't recall that detail
ArPharazonV: hey, you're the one who keeps calling Fingolfin "Fingy" :P
sauron432000: it say that thorondor was head of bird gaurd and the gaurd was there during batle!
Eonwe Valar: And abouty Fëanor and Fingolfin, they died fighting creatures of a greater nature than they. That they stood against them as well as they did is a testament to their strength and prowess as warriors.
sauron432000: but ancie too funny!
Menelvagor Valar: Quote time!
sauron432000: what?
ArPharazonV: Thorondor or not, eagles are still birds
Menelvagor Valar: on the last moments of Morgoth, and when Earendil entered the war of wrath!
ArPharazonV: nothing inherently wrong with me calling it a flock of birds ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: so, be quiet will you?
ArPharazonV: :-X
sauron432000: You maybe victorious on the fields of Pelennor for a day but against the power that is arising there can be no victory--- zat my fav quote!
Eonwe Valar: Fingon was slain only because a Balrog came up behind him when he was fighting Gothmog.
sauron432000: he still lost!
Menelvagor Valar: But Earendil came, shining with white flame, and about Vingilot gathered all the great birds of heaven and Thorondor was their captain, and there was battle in the air all the day and through a dark night of doubt.
sauron432000: told ya!
ArPharazonV: ah, allright
ArPharazonV: just said I didn't recall the detail, I didn't say he wasn't there
VardaValar1: back scrolling
sauron432000: i didn't say so, I only told I said so
Menelvagor Valar: Before the rising of the sun Earendil slew Ancalagon the Black, the mightiest of the dragon/host, and cast him from the sky; and he fell upon the towers of Thangorodrim, and they were broken in his ruin.
Menelvagor Valar: end quote
Menelvagor Valar: Phar was also right, it was not just Thorondor, there.
sauron432000: thanks menel
ArPharazonV: oh, btw, a link I just found: http://news.softpedia.com/news/World-of- Warcraft-The-Burning-Crusade-Expansion- Details-Part-I-11030.shtml
Menelvagor Valar: There were ALL the birds of heaven, and Thorondor was their captain.
ArPharazonV: don't know its source, but it's pretty interesting for lore-likers like me
sauron432000: he was doubtful wether thory ws there or not!
Menelvagor Valar: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burningcru sade/
Menelvagor Valar: how about there, Phar=
ArPharazonV: yes, Menel, but I have yet to find the info in my link on that site
Eonwe Valar: already gave that one, Menel, and aye, there's lore there as well.
Eonwe Valar: but back to the Tolkien topic
Menelvagor Valar: okies, here´s the euro one then *grin* http://www.wow-europe.com/en/burningcru sade/index.html
VardaValar1: Unless you're ready for the next Tolkien topic : )
sauron432000: well I think that fighting against odds is stupid and is better to flee and fight for another day!
VardaValar1: But that's not how Tolkien thought
sauron432000: can we havbe ineresting one?
VardaValar1: You think the other was not?
sauron432000: no, just a little bit!
VardaValar1: Ok, here's another
sauron432000: but I think choice and submission
VardaValar1: that's it
sauron432000: is a little too soft
VardaValar1: Then you do not understand
VardaValar1: Who offered choice and who offered only submission?
sauron432000: what I do not understand I will never understand!
Eonwe Valar: The problem is, Barahir, that there was no fighting another day
VardaValar1: We work here to understand, not to stand still
VardaValar1: Aye, Eonwe
sauron432000: well there was for Turgon and warriors of King Ondoher
VardaValar1: It was then or never
Eonwe Valar: The choice was to fight Sauron now united, or to fall as Sauron took them out one by one.
VardaValar1: Hurin could have left the elves of Gondolin to die instead
Glorfindel VG has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Same with Morgoth. Morgoth took each kingdom of the Noldor out one-by one until the only 2 left were Gondolin and Nargothrond.
VardaValar1: He chose to let them live rather than himself. It was a choice between them or him and his men
sauron432000: the fellowship fled several times. in Moria, Caradhras and fought many more days.
Eonwe Valar: The fellowship were not sent out to slay armies.
VardaValar1: They always attempted to go forward
VardaValar1: When they hit a block, they looked for a way around
sauron432000: what about the armies in thebattles of thefords o Isen they fled and fought in the hornburg again!
sauron432000: its 6 am here and beautiful sunlight si coming thru the window!
VardaValar1: 6:32 pm here : )
VardaValar1: Opposite sides of the world indeed :-)
ArPharazonV: I have to go, actually
ArPharazonV: new schedule for classes, starting next week
VardaValar1: Namarie, Pharazon!
sauron432000: mee too. My dad might wake!
ArPharazonV: no longer Mondays off
VardaValar1: uh oh
sauron432000: I got a monday of today!
VardaValar1: Less Phar for us
ArPharazonV: yup yup
ArPharazonV: I'll save and send now
sauron432000: Its Monda here. We Indains are ahead of you in time. a day early. What a drag!
ArPharazonV: saved
sauron432000: bye! Namrie to all and read my story and read the mystery story at openfiction pla and be a critic about it plzzz.
sauron432000 has left the room.
VardaValar1: Thanks Phar
VardaValar1: Shall we play with 'too soft' subject? : )
VardaValar1: All afk?
ArPharazonV: it is sent
top

VardaValar1: Then I declare "After-meeting"! : )
VardaValar1: Thank you
Srekal86: /me isnt afk
FarmerMaggotV: I'm not!
FarmerMaggotV: =)
VardaValar1: Nice to hear from you : )
ArPharazonV: I gotta go now, and who knows... you might have convinced me to continue the Mendara-story, Varda ;-)
VardaValar1: Or another : )
VardaValar1: Sleep well!
ArPharazonV: thank you
ArPharazonV: Namárië!
VardaValar1: I'll do this backlog of webwork and see if Ugluk manages to install AIM on his home computer. : )
VardaValar1: You interested in any of the Tolkien topics, Farmer?
ArPharazonV has left the room.
FarmerMaggotV: been working
VardaValar1: k
VardaValar1: I see it in my mail, Phar's report
VardaValar1: If anyone's interested in discussing Tolkien or those topics we mentioned, I'm interested.
Srekal86: /me is too
Srekal86: hows the encyclopedia coming?
VardaValar1: Which one, Hyarion?
Eonwe Valar: What exactly is the "too soft" subject?
VardaValar1: Choice vs submission
Eonwe Valar: ah
Srekal86: VardaValar1: anything Tolkien.
VardaValar1: Barahir said it was too soft to talk about
VardaValar1: And no one else said anything, so figured all were afk, heh
VardaValar1: Who offered choice and who offered submission only?
VardaValar1: And how about Lothlorien in that mix?
VardaValar1: Far as the Encyc, today we've been putting up Barahir's story
Eonwe Valar: The good guys offered Choice, the bad guys offered Submission. Seems pretty cut and dry to me :}
VardaValar1: Was it cut and dry in Lothlorien?
Eonwe Valar: How did Lothlorien require submission?
VardaValar1: How did it allow choice?
Eonwe Valar: No elf there was forced to live there last I checked.
VardaValar1: Same here : )
VardaValar1: Lothlorien had to stay the same, no change
VardaValar1: As soon as change entered, the forest and people began to wither
VardaValar1: Perhaps the subject of change would be better
VardaValar1: The subjects of the various kingdoms mostly were into submission to their leaders
VardaValar1: They had nowhere much to go
VardaValar1: True if elf or man or other
VardaValar1: Legolas and Gimli gave the greatest changes for their people
VardaValar1: They made the first new colonies for their people in a very long stagnant time
VardaValar1: Each colony was more in tune with the humans around them
VardaValar1: The Glittering Caves were right there with the Rohirrim
VardaValar1: The elves of Ithilien worked hard with Faramir, Prince of Ithilien, and Aragorn, King of the Reunited Kingdom
VardaValar1: They were not isolated
VardaValar1: Rivendell lasted under Elrond's sons, no longer immortal elves
VardaValar1: It had allowed traffic from other races before
Eonwe Valar: Where did you find that, Varda?
Eonwe Valar: about Rivendell?
VardaValar1: for a while
VardaValar1: Under the info on Elrond's sons, appendix I think
VardaValar1: Celeborn went to stay with them for a while
Menelvagor Valar: w00t!
Menelvagor Valar: finished!
VardaValar1: Then he took sail to Valinor, but they did not seem to go with him
VardaValar1: Congrats, Menelvagor : )
VardaValar1: I would expect the twins would have had visits with their foster brother in Gondor
VardaValar1: and with Legolas in Ithilien
VardaValar1: The visits would probably go both ways, so Legolas would probably drag in Gimli : )
VardaValar1: The silvan elves continued to live happily in their woods
VardaValar1: It does not say that Thranduil left
VardaValar1: Legolas might have been the link to the silvans for the other kingdoms
VardaValar1: I think a major purpose of the Fellowship was to win the peace, a tough thing to do!
VardaValar1: The fostering of Aragorn was a huge part of it
VardaValar1: But I can hear myself think anytime. heh
VardaValar1: It wasn't all peace by a long shot
VardaValar1: Eomer and Aragorn often rode together to war
VardaValar1: No point in keeping the Bridge up any longer tonight, Farmer
VardaValar1: Thanks for your hard work :-)
FarmerMaggotV: k
bnetValar has left the room.
VardaValar1: This place is dead
FarmerMaggotV: so it seems
Eonwe Valar: Sorry, working on other things, and don't really have anything to add to this.
VardaValar1: Or another topic
VardaValar1: np
VardaValar1: Mainly waiting for Ugluk : )
VardaValar1: Go ahead with whatever you're working on, please : )
Eonwe Valar: Danke :}
VardaValar1: We seem to have lost our tangent thing, heh
FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
Arwen V1: o.O
FallenGlory has left the room.
aranfinwe: sry bout afk'ness, busy at work
Srekal86: wb
aranfinwe: thx :-)
VardaValar1: Good to hear. Maybe you'll make some money : )
aranfinwe: at this job? not enough
VardaValar1: Never enough working for someone : )
aranfinwe: not so much never enough working so much as never enough earning :-)
Menelvagor Valar: what´s going on around here?
VardaValar1: Ugluk is back, asking about retesting
aranfinwe: me still kinda busy w/ work
Menelvagor Valar: cool! :-)
Eonwe Valar: Btw, I'd like to point the MEO RP contributors to my question of what fortifications to expect in the Erebor/Dale areas.
Menelvagor Valar: I would have no idea.
Eonwe Valar: Should've done it earlier, but been doing other things.
Menelvagor Valar: honestly not.
Eonwe Valar: Well, the Bree area was most "fortified" than usual.
Eonwe Valar: *most = more
Eonwe Valar: They had a guard at the gate peering through a peephole to check out incomers.
Eonwe Valar: bah, afk for a sec.
Menelvagor Valar: well, we might expect the dwarven smithies to roar with the clamour of new made weaponry and armor
Menelvagor Valar: and the dwarves and men of dale practicing just outside town.
VardaValar1: Aragorn climbed into Bree unchallenged
Menelvagor Valar: oh, one thing that needs to be said on the news, concerning webwork!
VardaValar1: Nazgul rode in
VardaValar1: Aye, Menel?
Menelvagor Valar: Apparently the forum had an option on which made new registrants be approved before they could actually move about freely.
Menelvagor Valar: I have approved all the accounts since this option was enabled (about 2 months ago!) and removed the option
Menelvagor Valar: I have also written an apology to those who have been waiting for all this time.
VardaValar1: ohhhh
VardaValar1: I had one ask when he was going to be approved and I didn't know what he was talking about!
Srekal86: oh well thats probably why there hasnt been much activity
VardaValar1: Most activity is live in games or here, not so much on the Forum
Menelvagor Valar: hasn´t been much activity since the start :-)
Menelvagor Valar: the Valar Guild is like Ents, we like to take our time doing things :-)
Menelvagor Valar: which you can surely see by the time it takes for anyone to reply to this 8-)
Srekal86: ;-)
VardaValar1: I already commented : )
VardaValar1: Most are afk looking in now and then. Meeting is over. Just after-meeting now
Menelvagor Valar: I know
Menelvagor Valar: unfortunately, I am the most active during after-meeting 8-)
Eonwe Valar: back
Ugluk of Old has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: well, as much as I was ever here :}
VardaValar1: Glad to have you active, Menel : )
VardaValar1: Aiya Ugluk : )
Ugluk of Old: Ahhh... Greetings again :-)
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya Ugluk!
Menelvagor Valar: btw, Varda, what time is it?
VardaValar1: 8pm CST, 9pm EST
VardaValar1: See Members page for other time zones : )
Menelvagor Valar: ok, just checking if the clock was reset for you too :-)
VardaValar1: See News for that :-)
Menelvagor Valar: Varda, you´re talking to the very master of Time Zones *grins triumphantly*
VardaValar1: Then, O Master, you should know
Menelvagor Valar: not with DST
Menelvagor Valar: that always gets me
VardaValar1: I like to use the computer to handle that confusion. : )
Menelvagor Valar: I forgot that.
Menelvagor Valar: my comp was an hour early today.
Menelvagor Valar: because I altered that one as well.
Menelvagor Valar: and since it is set to EST, it tends to run an hour late for a couple days in spring :-\
Menelvagor Valar: anyways, bedtime for me.
Menelvagor Valar: Namarie everyone!
Srekal86: Namarie
aranfinwe: namarie
Ugluk of Old: So long Namarie
aranfinwe: for that matter, time for me to depart as well, so namarie everyone
aranfinwe has left the room.
VardaValar1: bye
Menelvagor Valar: transcripts have been sent, in EST as usual.
VardaValar1: Thank you, Menel : )
Menelvagor Valar: nighty night.
VardaValar1: We do respond about like Ents : )
Menelvagor Valar: only means we do things really thoughtfully and carefully.
Menelvagor Valar: which is usually a good thing.
Menelvagor Valar: anyways, bye
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
VardaValar1: bye
VardaValar1: Means we are multi-tasking
Arwen V1 has left the room.
VardaValar1: Ok, going to work with Ugluk and Eonwe in another room : )
VardaValar1: Think kind thoughts for the Orc!
