Before-meeting:
You have just entered room "valarguildmeetingplace."
ArPharazonV: Aiya
FladrifV has entered the room.
FladrifV: aiya
ArPharazonV: okay, let's start this off by saying I officially dislike the Deadmines...
FladrifV: has it been rude to you?
ArPharazonV: second attempt today, yesterday failed because we were party of 3... a druid (me) and 2 mages, so doomed from the start
ArPharazonV: today we almost got there, but the party fell apart before we reached the ship
ArPharazonV: we had the druid (me), another druid, 2 paladins, and 1 warrior
ArPharazonV: now, we got pretty far, made a few mistakes like with the shredder, but still, we were getting close...
ArPharazonV: but the two freakin we're-chosen-by-the-gods-pallies chose to not wait for the pullers, and just rush ahead every time, no matter how many times we tried to persuade them otherwise
ArPharazonV: and the warrior was ALWAYS the first to die, but we managed to rez him almost every time
ArPharazonV: that's the beauty of having 4 rezzers in the party :-)
ArPharazonV: anyway, right before the ship was in sight, our two pallies had to go...
ArPharazonV: so it was just me, the other druid, and the warrior... and the other druid was the only one with any experience on that part of the deadmines
ArPharazonV: the first of the 3 bosses on the ship killed all of us, but we managed to get back in time to pull his summoned lackies, and miraculously managed to take him out
ArPharazonV: and then we came to the stairs to the upper deck... where it all ended
ArPharazonV: first, the warrior died, but us 2 druids won the battle
ArPharazonV: but, both our rezzing-cooldowns were still a long way from being over, so the warrior decided to make his way from the graveyard to the beginning of the instance
ArPharazonV: however, he ran into an enemy patrol within the instance (a patrol that keeps respawning), and died before he reached us
ArPharazonV: so, we decided to go after him, and rez him on the spot... this time, my cooldown was almost over
ArPharazonV: however, this time we ran into the same patrol, and both died...
ArPharazonV: and when the 3 of us finally made it back to the instance, the darn thing had reset...
ArPharazonV: so we decided to call it a day... and attempt two in the deadmines had officially failed
ArPharazonV: of course, the entire day today, I haven't gotten to finish a single quest... so this is really disappointing
ArPharazonV: if I don't get that deadmines-quest tomorrow, I'm really getting angry...
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Am I late
ArPharazonV: nope
TheSirG3: don't seem to be, nobody's here
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Oh good I forgot the meeting was today
TheSirG3: I dragged myself out of bed to start the bridge, and I might go back soon
ArPharazonV: goodnight then :-)
TheSirG3: might =P
FladrifV: hehe
FladrifV: /me is also falling asleep almost
ArPharazonV: anyway, got out of the deadmines, sold my loot and fixed my equipment in Moonbrook...
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Shaggyjoe has entered the room.
HeruRasa has entered the room.
Shaggyjoe: Evening Folks.
ArPharazonV: went to stormwind to restock on rezzing-seeds and get a new first-aid spell (heavy wool or something)
Eonwe Valar: heya all.
TheSirG3: hail
ArPharazonV: got a few quests back in redridge that I had abandoned for a few others I completed yesterday...
ArPharazonV: and went back to westfall to sleep... and prepare for tomorrow
ArPharazonV: Aiya all
ArPharazonV: so, tomorrow, deadmines attempt nr.3...
Eonwe Valar: The beds in Westfall are lumpy. Might as well sleep on the floor in that barracks.
HeruRasa: heyas
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Hello Varda
bnetValar: Varda (SigmaChat): Aiya :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya Varda
bnetValar: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): and an Aiya from here too
VardaValar1 has entered the room.
aranfinwe has entered the room.
aranfinwe: Aiyas
Shaggyjoe: im here : )
ArPharazonV: let's hope we actually get to VanCleef tomorrow...
GwaihirValar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: I don't want to spend a second day on absolutely nothing
ArPharazonV: Aiya
GwaihirValar: Hullo
VardaValar1: Aiya Gwaihir! Not stuck at work? :-)
GwaihirValar: home sick heh
TheSirG3: not cool, optical mouse batts. dying :-(
VardaValar1: rjk
VardaValar1: r
VardaValar1: problems, pardon
VardaValar1: Run grab some batteries, Farmer!
TheSirG3: don't have any more, didn't get given any for Christmas this year heh
GwaihirValar: gyah
TheSirG3: maybe the parents have some, hopefully
Orodreth V has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya
VardaValar1: Taking roll
VardaValar1: If some of you can jump into Sigma Chat, we have a new member there who does not have AIM
top

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo!

VardaValar1: Membership News:
VardaValar1: New Tolkien-only member: Tristin-(TV) is with us today in Sigma Chat :-)
VardaValar1: Welcome, Tristin :-)
TheSirG3: Ahoy
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Hello
Shaggyjoe: to many colours..
Shaggyjoe: my head hurts.
Shaggyjoe: welcome Tristin 8-)
ArathornValar: Deadmines the first few times around is almost always a nightmare
VardaValar1: Would you like to introduce yourself to the group, Tristin?
ArathornValar: you really need 5 good players to complete it
VardaValar1: Meeting has started folk, please IM for private chats :-)
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Thank you all for welcoming me
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): I am from Cincinnati Ohio and I am a male and I am very friendly.
VardaValar1: Thank you for talking to us, Tristin :-)
VardaValar1: In other Membership news, Grimbold is moving.
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): Your quite welcome
VardaValar1: He will not have the Internet for maybe quite some time
VardaValar1: He has been giving away his WoW items, according to Arathorn
VardaValar1: This also means our highest WoW priest is now only an 18. *gulp*
VardaValar1: Luckily we have paladins and druids : )
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: So there's a chance to claim the highest spot as priest :}
VardaValar1: Aiya Menelvagor
VardaValar1: I have that as a teensy 18 ;-)
VardaValar1: ahh, another thing
VardaValar1: Tristin here plays Runescape
VardaValar1: Does anyone else here play it?
Menelvagor Valar: I play it once in a while
VardaValar1: With so many in the guild who can't come to meetings, I'm sure there are others as well :-)
ArPharazonV: heard of it, but never played it... what kind of game is it?
GilraenV has entered the room.
Menelvagor Valar: but compared to WoW, its graphics are completely beloney
VardaValar1: Is it a MMORPG?
Menelvagor Valar: yes
FladrifV: everything compared to wow is graphical behind :-)
Menelvagor Valar: it's webbased and free
VardaValar1: Then it is ahead on the fees! :-)
Menelvagor Valar: of course, some of the better functions of the game requires a one-time payment
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): It is kind of something like that you get to create your charecter and stuff but you start out as a peasent and have to work you
FallenGlory has entered the room.
bnetValar: Tristin (SigmaChat): your way up I am a mage
VardaValar1: Thanks, folks
VardaValar1: Any other Membership news?
ArPharazonV: ah, like dungeon siege? if that rings a bell?
Menelvagor Valar: no, not like dungeonsiege
Menelvagor Valar: http://www.runescape.com/
ArPharazonV: I meant the 'working your way up from peasant to some class-form'
Menelvagor Valar: well, I can't accurately answer that, since I haven't played it all that much
VardaValar1: Jump into Sigma Chat and you can IM with Tristin about it ;-)

VardaValar1: Web News:
VardaValar1: For his Tolkien membership, Tristin sent in an article:
VardaValar1: Radagast, the Brown Wizard
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles/r/Radagast/RadagastT.htm
VardaValar1: and
VardaValar1: Haleth-(V) sent in:
VardaValar1: Lobelia Sackville-Baggins
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/articles/l/Lobelia.htm
VardaValar1: The Forum is now running the MeO rp again
VardaValar1: If anyone else is going to jump in, now is the time
VardaValar1: We are no longer having to wait on the Forum upgrade
VardaValar1: Any further Web news?
ArPharazonV: I know, have to participate in it myself again... both for Calion, and making the final set-up for Calaron's adventure...
Menelvagor Valar: working on webnews, will get to that in a bit
ArathornValar: I'm looking into a wow addon...
TheSirG3: just curious, anyone here know PHP?
TheSirG3: (sorry to interrupt)
VardaValar1: That would be web news, np
ArathornValar: that allows you to hold the info about your chars in a database on my PC.. may be interesting
Eonwe Valar: Not yet, but I could always take it as a CS elective.
ArathornValar: heh this thing uses php
VardaValar1: What is PHP?
TheSirG3: PHP Hypertext Processor
ArathornValar: Web language
TheSirG3: it's for dynamic web sites
VardaValar1: Eowyn may be familiar with it
GilraenV: php is evil
VardaValar1: Why do you say that, Gilraen?
TheSirG3: I'm wondering if I can launch a process and not have it die when PHP exits -- so I can have Varda start the bridge this summer
TheSirG3: I rather like PHP
ArathornValar: This app is located at http://wowprofiler.sourceforge.net/ if anyone wants to see what it does
VardaValar1: Will you be gone this summer, Farmer?
TheSirG3: yes
VardaValar1: Thanks, Arathorn
TheSirG3: leaving the 25th, and won't be back till very late Aug.
TheSirG3: =(
ArathornValar: as an aside: it's similar to the Blog we worked on using MySQL
VardaValar1: Thanks. Maybe we can also have a second person who can handle it for backup
VardaValar1: Any other web news?
VardaValar1: We may have to start up the Valar Programmers chat on the side again :-)

VardaValar1: Gaming News:
VardaValar1: We just talked about Runescape a bit : )
VardaValar1: World of WarCraft US has a report for the Friday Gaming
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Eonwe!
Eonwe Valar: Thanks :}
Eonwe Valar: This Friday was our Guild Event visiting the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior in the Barrens.
Eonwe Valar: In attendance were Eonwe, Elatan, Varda, Arathorn, and Draxcil(my brother as many of you may know)
Eonwe Valar: Meeting at the open part of the Northern fence between the Barrens and Astranaar, we made sure everyone had flowers.
Eonwe Valar: Sheathing our weapons and bearing flowers, we marched into the Barrens, doing our best to avoid having to kill anything.
VardaValar1: (Not easy)
Eonwe Valar: Taking a long way around to avoid the Crossroads, we once again joined with the road and crossed it, coming upon our destination. Reaching the top of the mountain, we came to the Shrine and paid our respects.
Eonwe Valar: Some of us "destroyed" flowers there as a way of leaving them on the shrine, while using the /me or /emote command to "emote" us leaving flowers.
Eonwe Valar: After we took a couple of screenshots at the Shrine, Draxcil and Arathorn decided to check it out as ghosts to see the Spirit Healer named after the fallen Blizzard Employee.
Eonwe Valar: They have a couple of screenshots as well. After paying final respects, we were ported to Ironforge by Arathorn, and prepared to invade Uldaman.
HeruRasa has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Attending the Guild questing was the same group.
Eonwe Valar: We completed Power in Uldaman (mage only for Arathorn), Sign of Hope, Power Stones, Agmond's Fate, Reclaimed Treasures, Lost Dwarves, and Solution to Doom.
Eonwe Valar: We went in the back way, so our first completed quest was Power in Uldaman. We then worked our way back to the beginning to complete other quests.
Eonwe Valar: Before Elatan had to go we completed Lost Dwarves, which would've led us on another adventure. Once Elatan left, we ventured into the non-instanced parts of Uldaman to complete quests.
HeruRasa has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Power Stones took us the longest, but while we worked on that we managed to procur the 4 urns for Agmond's Fate and find Grez Hammertoe for a Sign of Hope.
Eonwe Valar: He sent us on a quest to find his amulet, which we did, and that spurred on yet more questing to be done later. We also completed Reclaimed Treasures and found an amulet that we had to take back to TdK.
Menelvagor Valar: as an interruption, power stones can be obtained outside of Uldaman as well
Eonwe Valar: This began yet another quest into Uldaman, so back we will get to go at another time.
ArathornValar: Actually we did finish tha quest outside heh
VardaValar1: Menel, we did pick some up there too
Eonwe Valar: Aye, that's where we picked up the last couple of Power Stones, from the Dwarves right outside.
Eonwe Valar: My report is done.
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe!
VardaValar1: Did Europe make it to the Shrine?
Menelvagor Valar: no, we have been too busy doing other things, mainly getting a merger done
Eonwe Valar: merger?
ArPharazonV: not to mention the fact that I had my last salsa-lesson last Friday...
Menelvagor Valar: yes, my guild there is an image of the Guild, not a branch of it
ArPharazonV: which means I wasn't even at home
Menelvagor Valar: which means that we are not bound by the Tolkien rules
Menelvagor Valar: at any rate, the merger should take place later this week and strengthen our guild by some 20 accounts, bringing total count up to some 50
VardaValar1: This has nothing to do with our Valar players there, though?
VardaValar1: Except you maybe?
Menelvagor Valar: except for me, Fladrif and Phar, nothing, aye
VardaValar1: Are they involved in this merger too?
ArPharazonV: well, we're in the guild, so...
Menelvagor Valar: that would mean, yes :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks
VardaValar1: What is the name of the guild you were in, and the one you merged to?
FladrifV has left the room.
Menelvagor Valar: The High Guard, merging with Guardians of Arthemis and will remain The High Guard
VardaValar1: The Guardians are changing their name to the High Guard?
Menelvagor Valar: aye, they are disbanding their guild to join ours
VardaValar1: Thanks for clearing that up
Menelvagor Valar: it's to gain more people to play, trade with and generally have fun with
VardaValar1: Thank you
VardaValar1: Could you give your WoW page report now?
Menelvagor Valar: aye
Menelvagor Valar: Varda emailed me earlier this week with a new page she had done to point out trainers for the different professions
Menelvagor Valar: for that, I have merely provided a link on the WoW page
Menelvagor Valar: http://valarguild.org/menelvagor/wow/wowframe.html
VardaValar1: Thank you
Menelvagor Valar: it's under the "extra's" section
VardaValar1: That page needs to have your professions told to me or emailed, as I cannot see it in WoW
Menelvagor Valar: special thanks to Varda for the trainers page, and Gilraen for whipping up the link button :-)
VardaValar1: =)
ArPharazonV: hmm... something trade-skill related I was wondering...
ArPharazonV: does anyone have a page with all the merchants who sell cooking-recipes?
ArPharazonV: found on the web?
VardaValar1: Try Allakhazam.com
ArathornValar: thottbot.com has something similar
ArPharazonV: yes, that was my latest find... at least a list of all the recipes... at least it's one way of gaining my information :-)
ArPharazonV: and I found the thottbot list as well, but it's less helpful than allakhazam
ArPharazonV: it would be helpful if every cook would sell every recipe for his skill-range... like with leatherworking... but nooo, each one has his own list, it seems
VardaValar1: Any other Gaming news?
ArathornValar: If anyone uses guns, my engineer can now make 'Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs' (12.5 dmg) from 1 mithril and one Solid Stone (200 bullets for one slot)
ArathornValar: just outfitted my warrior and hunter =)
VardaValar1: Thanks, Arathorn :-)
FladrifV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiyata
FladrifV: aiya
ArPharazonV: btw, Flad
ArPharazonV: were you still interested in the forum-rp?
VardaValar1: Thanks Phar
VardaValar1: We need to know who is joining into the Forum role-play
FladrifV: nope sorry got wow now and dont have too much time
ArPharazonV: heheh
ArPharazonV: wow above all
FladrifV: I personally like playing one thing at a time
FladrifV: im not rather multitaskind minded :-)
VardaValar1: It's just a text game we go into once or twice a week. Not much time there ;-)
FladrifV: i know and thought about it
FladrifV: but I realy like focussing on one task :-)
VardaValar1: okies
VardaValar1: We don't want people who aren't interested, so np!
FladrifV: have read trough it
FladrifV: I like forum for reading not posting :-)
VardaValar1: That's impressive, Fladrif!
ArathornValar: hmmm
ArathornValar: I just saw a fellow with the same flame as ours in wow
ArathornValar: course that would be expected :-P
VardaValar1: Sure, not exclusive to us : )
ArathornValar: thot it was Gorthaur at first =)
FladrifV: just curious how many different faces are posible with wow
VardaValar1: He just got off WoW
FladrifV: in other words howmany of the same are into wow :-)
VardaValar1: Feel free to check the character generator
FladrifV: I will
FladrifV: brb with answer
VardaValar1: Is there any further news or comment before we change the order of business?
ArPharazonV: for some reason, my elven face is quite rare... guess I made an odd choice
VardaValar1: If there is no further business,
VardaValar1: we will move to the Tolkien Chat
FladrifV: ok have an answer
FladrifV: if i may :-)
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Fladrif :-)
FladrifV: roughly 8 times 10^5
VardaValar1: Nice :-)
FladrifV: should be enough :-)
FladrifV: dunno if everyone has even number of skin collor
VardaValar1: Elves have quite a few
FladrifV: humans have 10
VardaValar1: I think they balance out with other things, such as body-piercings on Undead
FladrifV: so every one has an facial copy or 2 over the world
VardaValar1: Level 60's sometimes look like identicals : )
GwaihirValar: often...
GwaihirValar: there are a handful of really popular faces
VardaValar1: We saw 4 exact same Druids in a group
FladrifV: i think there is an esthetical thing going on
FladrifV: ppl believe in whats beautifull is quite the same
FladrifV: so there will be many more of a kind :-)
ArPharazonV: but not everyone finds the same face beautiful :-)
FladrifV: luckely not
ArPharazonV: different tastes
FladrifV: yes but there are extremes that will never be chosen
ArPharazonV: some go mysterious, some go shiny, some go extreme
ArPharazonV: some like bald, some like long-haired
ArPharazonV: some like beards, some like a clean shave, some like a goatee
FladrifV: some like fladrif :P
ArPharazonV: hey, I'm long-haired too
ArPharazonV: and green-haired at that
HeruRasa: aesthetics: the philosophy of beauty, now here we can really argue :-)
ArPharazonV: somehow, a druid with green hair really fit for me...
VardaValar1: If you guys are through
FladrifV: as hunter it was a practical reason
VardaValar1: can we shift to Tolkien?
Shaggyjoe: lol
Shaggyjoe: >.<
FladrifV: ok
ArPharazonV: sure, go ahead
top

Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Aesthetics in Tolkien could be an interesting topic too :-)
ArPharazonV: we'll rant another day...
VardaValar1: What we had in mind though
VardaValar1: was a discussion of Power as shown in Tolkien
VardaValar1: We could try to keep it to LotR to keep it from going all night, but we know how it goes. ;-)
VardaValar1: Can you think of someone in power or seeking to be in power in 'Tolkien, and what he or she did to get there?
ArPharazonV: sauron? saruman? morgoth?
VardaValar1: Aragorn? Galadriel?
VardaValar1: Elrond? Thranduil? Celeborn?
ArPharazonV: or the good guys, aye... I just naturally associate 'power-seeking' with evil...
Menelvagor Valar: Feanor
VardaValar1: If good has no members in power, you have a problem : )
VardaValar1: Gandalf had a type of power
VardaValar1: Denethor, Boromir, Faramir
VardaValar1: Sometimes they are not really seeking power, but are kind of stuck with it
VardaValar1: The old "someone has to do it".
ArPharazonV: aye... democracy is far far away
VardaValar1: Do you think any of the groups had some form of it?
ArPharazonV: well... we know there were mayor-elections in the Shire
VardaValar1: Aye. Hobbits were left with very little direction from outside, such as the King
HeruRasa has left the room.
VardaValar1: Valar had power too, if you want to include them
VardaValar1: Pippin and Merry had power, even
ArPharazonV: Eru had power
top

After-meeting:
GwaihirValar: (an off-topic comment here... my friends and I on my pvp server are going to be taking down Majordomo Executus today... if you guys would like screenshots I can take some :-))
ArPharazonV: ...majordomo executus? who's that?
GwaihirValar: the second last boss of Molten Core
VardaValar1: I don't see much going on with this discussion anyway
VardaValar1: Shall we just bring the meeting to a close and let everyone go play?
ArPharazonV: no! no! that would mean I have to go to bed...
HeruRasa has entered the room.
FladrifV: lol
ArPharazonV: Aiya
FladrifV: maybe a different discussion?
HeruRasa: chat room keeps crashing
VardaValar1: Come to Sigma Chat?
ArPharazonV: did anyone read the transcript of last week?
VardaValar1: I did ;-)
ArPharazonV: heheh
TheSirG3: I read some
ArPharazonV: so did I, well, the parts I wasn't there...
ArPharazonV: well? what did you think of our little whatif? ;-)
TheSirG3: don't recall that =P
VardaValar1: It was at the end. We had a "whatif" story outline for LotR
ArPharazonV: VardaValar1: For a what-if, suppose Boromir and Aragorn had gone to Minas Tirith. Where would the rest go?
ArPharazonV: and then over half the transcript is a huge what-if...
TheSirG3: guess I didn't read through all of it heh
ArPharazonV: I was checking the beginning of the what-if, and found out I missed so many conversations because I was busy with the story...
ArPharazonV: we must do this again some time, surely ;-)
VardaValar1: The formal meeting is adjourned
FladrifV: oh i made a mistake
ArPharazonV: hmz?
FladrifV: not 800000 posibilityes but 1.6 milion
ArPharazonV: yummy
ArPharazonV: how so?
FladrifV: forgot that there where womans also ;-)
ArPharazonV: hahah
ArPharazonV: you make a good point
GwaihirValar: how could you forget the women? NE females make up half the population of WoW!
FladrifV: lol
FladrifV: on argent dawn it isnt that bad
ArPharazonV: as scantily dressed as possible without loosing armor-rating?
ArPharazonV: *losing
Eonwe Valar: just like in real life :}
FladrifV: that are the human females :-)
ArPharazonV: aye, a lot of those going around as well
FladrifV: i saw one having all clothes of and using macro for battles
Eonwe Valar: a good reason to hope better for LotRO.
ArPharazonV: http://www.gucomics.com/archives/view.php?cdate=20050602
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): ok now that's interesting.. don't know if I like my chat rooms talking to me.
TheSirG3: eh?
ArPharazonV: he's talking about 'welcome'
TheSirG3: lol
bnetValar: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): *welcome*
Eonwe Valar: it said it again,.. must be your fault Phar :}
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): wow the bridge gives my text across the bridge a different color.
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): so why no tooltips here?
TheSirG3: hm, your text across the bridge should be black... I would think
ArPharazonV: it also sends a strange beep to my speakers any time I speak in here...
Eonwe Valar: mine is gold
ArPharazonV: aye, goldish
Eonwe Valar: When it comes from AIM to Sigma, it's gold. I guess because it assuems that's me?
TheSirG3: all I know is that I don't send a font color from messages going anywhat way in the bridge
Eonwe Valar: assumes even?
TheSirG3: perhaps because it has your name? I don't know
Eonwe Valar: Maybe the AI is growing beyond your control Farmer :}
aranfinwe: well, time for me to sign off...
aranfinwe: namarie all
Eonwe Valar: soon we'll need entry plug suits to use it, and we'll be piloting giant robots,...
HeruRasa: namarie
Eonwe Valar: take care :}
VardaValar1: Namarie
aranfinwe has left the room.
TheSirG3: I'm putting together a free software list for Windows =)
ArPharazonV: hmm... perhaps the software is gaining a control over Farmer instead...
Eonwe Valar: so what channel if any does this patch to on bnet?
TheSirG3: 'patch' ?
ArPharazonV: soon it will absorb all his other software, and the knowledge stored in his brain...
TheSirG3: the bridge listens in channel Public Chat Valar
ArPharazonV: then it will connect to a satellite by itself... and absorb all technology stored all over the world...
Eonwe Valar: patch into i.e. what channel can we hear from on bnet.
TheSirG3: which until recently was accessible from even chat clients and Diablo
TheSirG3: ><
ArPharazonV: then it starts to assassinate all world-leaders using mechanical equipment...
TheSirG3: phar, sounds like you need sleep =P
ArPharazonV: takes over the world... and starts exterminating all organic life...
ArPharazonV: it must be stopped!
Eonwe Valar: he's upgrading his NAVI I guess :} ok, I'll quit making references to stuff you probably don't know now :}
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): that sounds like Skynet :}
TheSirG3: lol
bnetValar: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): aye, I think I do need my sleep...
bnetValar: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): so I'll just save
ArPharazonV: and send
Menelvagor Valar: Terminator rulez :-)
TheSirG3: never seen it
ArPharazonV: heheh
ArPharazonV: I guess you see where I got my 'inspiration'
Menelvagor Valar: Skynet is the computer system that created the Terminators :-)
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): Well, no :}
Menelvagor Valar: in Terminator 4 it will :-)
ArPharazonV: still haven't seen 3
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): If you watch T3, you'll see the first Terminators were human created, only taken over by Skynet :}
Menelvagor Valar: yeah, but the first Terminators aren't really that technologically advanced
Menelvagor Valar: just some basic defense systems
ArPharazonV: anyway, gonna save now...
bnetValar: Eonwe (SigmaChat): They're still the first in the series.. T1-2, T1-8, etc.
Menelvagor Valar: true, I won't argue that
ArPharazonV (18:58:10): saved
Menelvagor Valar (18:58:27): I think the ending of T3 is really shabby
bnetValar (18:58:42): Eonwe (SigmaChat): Which makes one wonder, if Skynet was fully aware, can the machines under its control acheive full awareness?
ArPharazonV (18:58:46): uh oh, here come the spoilers... I'd best send and quit now...
bnetValar (18:59:07): Eonwe (SigmaChat): Run Phar run :}
Menelvagor Valar (18:59:35): well, if Skynet is smart enough to achieve full awareness, it's probably smart enough to engineer a software flaw in all its machinery that will make them stay just a nick away from full awareness
VardaValar1 (18:59:58): Humans thought that too ;-)
bnetValar (19:00:07): Eonwe (SigmaChat): my thoughts exactly, Varda :}
bnetValar (19:00:32): Eonwe (SigmaChat): which means T7 could be a three-way war between the Humans, Skynet, and the newly aware machines :}
ArPharazonV (19:00:47): now I do expect the rest of this talk to show up in the transcript!
Menelvagor Valar (19:00:56): no prob Phar
bnetValar (19:01:02): Eonwe (SigmaChat): ok, but careful because you might get spoilers once you leave :}
VardaValar1 (19:01:05): It should actually stop when the Tolkien chat died a horrible death
TheSirG3 (19:01:23): lol
Menelvagor Valar (19:01:25): well, I guess that Skynet will learn from the human mistakes :-)
ArPharazonV (19:01:30): no, not really, I always enjoy the aftermeeting-chat :-)
bnetValar (19:02:00): Eonwe (SigmaChat): well, you wouldn't want anyone to think we had a conversation after Tolkien chat died, would you? :}
ArPharazonV (19:02:13): ooh, this close to forgetting the attachment
ArPharazonV (19:02:18): but it's sent now
Menelvagor Valar (19:02:39): you wouldn't want to let others think our only subject of talk is Tolkien, would you?
VardaValar1 (19:02:48): The transcripts do run long with nothing guild related. My fault
VardaValar1 (19:02:54): Eating space on the server
bnetValar (19:03:03): Eonwe (SigmaChat): hmm, probably shouldn't answer that, Menel :}
VardaValar1 (19:03:04): Our space is starting to be in a crunch
ArPharazonV (19:03:25): in that case, email me the full transcript... gmail can handle it...
FladrifV (19:03:31): zipping transcripts will help
TheSirG3 (19:04:01): I'm still offering to help with hosting =)
bnetValar (19:04:20): Eonwe (SigmaChat): I'm doing my part by cutting down pictures to just what shows and using html to program most of my pages :}
VardaValar1 (19:04:28): But your server goes abruptly offline for unknown lengths of time
VardaValar1 (19:04:46): I generally link to pictures offsite
bnetValar (19:05:17): Eonwe (SigmaChat): I'm talking about background images. Plus, it helps with loading times, another reason I do it.
bnetValar (19:05:45): Eonwe (SigmaChat): I use a regular modem so I feel the pain when it comes to loading times :}
ArPharazonV (19:06:08): anyway, gotta go now... even though the spoiler-wave seems to be over...
VardaValar1 (19:06:14): Are you having problems with any of the current pages?
ArPharazonV (19:06:20): Namarie
Eonwe Valar (19:06:21): Well, in T3 there's this guy that does stuff :}
VardaValar1 (19:06:22): Namarie, Phar!
VardaValar1 (19:06:25): heh
Eonwe Valar (19:06:29): take care Phar :}
Eonwe Valar (19:06:31): sleep well :}
VardaValar1 (19:06:32): You tell 'em, Eonwe1
ArPharazonV (19:06:33): I thought it was a woman, Eonwe? ;-)
Eonwe Valar (19:06:41): there's a guy too :}
ArPharazonV (19:06:43): ah
ArPharazonV (19:06:48): sounds fair enough
ArPharazonV (19:07:00): ok, bye
ArPharazonV (19:07:04): I'll surely sleep well
ArPharazonV (19:07:14): if my racing thoughts allow it...
ArPharazonV (19:07:17): gbye!
Eonwe Valar (19:07:23): and a basement, and mountain, and general background scene #47 :}
VardaValar1 (19:07:29): hehe
(19:07:31) ArPharazonV has left the room.
bnetValar (19:08:51): Eonwe (SigmaChat): *harp*
bnetValar (19:09:00): Eonwe (SigmaChat): ok I know what those are for now.
bnetValar (19:09:42): Eonwe (SigmaChat): ok, I think that would be the eraser.
Eonwe Valar (19:10:59): Leaves are falling all around.
Eonwe Valar (19:11:13): The time has come to be gone.
Eonwe Valar (19:11:23): And though our health we drank a thousand times.
Eonwe Valar (19:11:32): It's time to ramble on.
Eonwe Valar (19:11:37): :}
VardaValar1 (19:12:09): If we can still walk after all that health drinking
Eonwe Valar (19:13:00): Well, depends on who was involved in the health drinking, and what we were drinking to our health :}
VardaValar1 (19:13:36): Miruvor, very smalllll glasses
Eonwe Valar (19:13:41): If it's just any ale, and Elves are involved, no problem :}
VardaValar1 (19:13:57): Drinking game :-)
Eonwe Valar (19:13:59): If it's Dorwinion, and Mirkwood Elves are involved, well, we better wait a few hours :}
VardaValar1 (19:14:06): Starting to feel it in our toes...
VardaValar1 (19:14:20): Dorwinion is only served at the royal table :-)
Eonwe Valar (19:14:39): except when butlers sneak a sample and share it with their jailor friend :}
bnetValar (19:14:46): Varda (SigmaChat): There is that
Eonwe Valar (19:15:13): I was rereading that passage recently for research :}
VardaValar1 (19:15:30): Good : )
VardaValar1 (19:16:02): I read an interesting fanfic suggesting Legolas was the one who was captain and sharing that drink ;-)
Eonwe Valar (19:16:04): Had to try and make our journey from Thranduil's halls a reasonable time frame :}
Eonwe Valar (19:16:10): hehe
Eonwe Valar (19:16:50): Legolas would already get it at the king's table though :} guess he wanted a taste before anyone else? :}
VardaValar1 (19:17:12): It was a fic trying to work out where Legolas was during the Hobbit
VardaValar1 (19:17:21): I've seen several struggling with that idea
VardaValar1 (19:17:45): JRRT didn't have him in mind then, so it makes it quite a mind game
Eonwe Valar (19:18:00): It's simple. He doesn't enter into the story because he wasn't important to a Burglar Hobbit at the time :}
Menelvagor Valar (19:18:27): some late webnews :-)
VardaValar1 (19:18:34): Aye, Menel?
Menelvagor Valar (19:18:35): I fixed the links on the image site
VardaValar1 (19:18:46): Yay! Humor page, you mean?
Menelvagor Valar (19:18:46): they are now linked to Geocities
Menelvagor Valar (19:18:51): aye
VardaValar1 (19:18:54): Yay!
Menelvagor Valar (19:19:15): the only prob remaining with geocities is that it just won't handle a large amount of data transfer, such as images
Menelvagor Valar (19:19:34): so, as a result, from time to time, the images may be down
Menelvagor Valar (19:19:46): but for the moment, that is at least better than what we had
Menelvagor Valar (19:20:22): thankfully I still had the images there saved on harddisk :-)
FladrifV (19:20:33): my server is on 99%
TheSirG3 (19:21:08): mine's been about 95% lately -- some crashing on the comp during a LAN party heh
FladrifV (19:21:48): if the html image linking is directory based and on only one place url linked
FladrifV (19:22:00): there can be some sets running and easaly switched
Menelvagor Valar (19:25:47): I'll add Haleth's 7331 speech to the text humor page tomorrow :-)
VardaValar1 (19:26:07): cool :-)
VardaValar1 (19:26:10): She'll like that
VardaValar1 (19:26:19): I find Leet speak nearly unbearable : )
Menelvagor Valar (19:26:28): no kidding
Menelvagor Valar (19:26:38): one of the things that's not allowed with us in europe
TheSirG3 (19:26:57): I can't stand people actually using it
VardaValar1 (19:27:19): It's a humor page kidding about how bad LotR would be in Leet speak
VardaValar1 (19:27:24): Only reason we mentioned it
Menelvagor Valar (19:27:27): very, very bad
TheSirG3 (19:27:29): heh
FladrifV (19:27:40): namarie
TheSirG3 (19:27:43): cya Flad
Menelvagor Valar (19:27:46): also, it's leet speak on the movies, not the books
FladrifV (19:27:57): help ya soon with your voip sirg :-)
TheSirG3 (19:28:07): hehe
(19:28:16) FladrifV has left the room.
VardaValar1 (19:28:57): Aye, Menel
Menelvagor Valar (19:30:49): heh, I looked up on my guide to fantasy jokes again
Menelvagor Valar (19:30:58): they are still funny :-)
VardaValar1 (19:31:09): I love that section on the Humor page :-)
VardaValar1 (19:31:19): Nice that some others added to it from outside
Menelvagor Valar (19:31:26): yeah
Menelvagor Valar (19:31:43): I think it's about time I add some more to them though :-)
VardaValar1 (19:31:56): That would be fun
Menelvagor Valar (19:32:05): like Eru going on a promotion tour because he wrote it :-)
VardaValar1 (19:32:08): If you would tell me when you make additions, I will mention it on the News
VardaValar1 (19:32:14): heheh
Menelvagor Valar (19:33:03): I might even add different quotes from the same characters
Menelvagor Valar (19:33:17): some will have several things to say about it :-)
VardaValar1 (19:33:23): That would be good :-)
Menelvagor Valar (19:34:32): hmmm.... thought up a nice one for the Dead Army of the mountain
Menelvagor Valar (19:34:38): just need their name and it's set :-)
Menelvagor Valar (19:35:37): "Ah! Aragorn is coming! Clean the house boys, make everything look nice and ghostly! Dust has never unnerved anyone before!"
Menelvagor Valar (19:36:08): or
VardaValar1 (19:36:19): aww, dust and cobwebs are standard for haunted houses
Menelvagor Valar (19:36:43): "Bets are now taken on who is able to scare the dwarf and make his knees wobble!"
VardaValar1 (19:37:06): hehe
Menelvagor Valar (19:38:11): what can I say, I have a weird mind with lots of humor :-)
VardaValar1 (19:39:18): Just right for the Humor page : )
Menelvagor Valar (19:39:35): Gimli, after going to the paths of the dead: "Now I know why I got scared back there! They must have had the book as well and knew I was coming! Dastardly dead people!"
Menelvagor Valar (19:40:50): still, I think the one with Pharazon one of the best :-)
(19:43:00) GwaihirValar has left the room.
