VardaValar1: Farmer Maggot,
our Bridge man, left this morning for 7 weeks
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: He is on a camping trip with his folks, running through
the Southwest US, but probably not far enough into Texas to bump into us
VardaValar1: Aiya Eonwe : )
Eonwe Valar: Heya all.
ArPharazonV: so we have no bridge for 2 months?
VardaValar1: Farmer tried to rig the Bridge so we could restart it
ArPharazonV: tried? as in failed?
VardaValar1: However, I don't see it in the places I'm at to restart it
VardaValar1: I don't reach IRC, however, if someone else uses it?
Valandil Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: I'm in Public Chat Valar on Bnet, SigmaChat and here
VardaValar1: Aiya Valandil : )
VardaValar1: Farmer will try to check in on the internet about every 4
VardaValar1: We can let him know about the Bridge problem then.
HeruRasa has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Ulmo!
Valandil Valar: aiya
VardaValar1: In other news, Meriadoc-(V) sent in the information that Andre Norton
FladrifV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: She was a great Science Fiction and Fantasy author, a
favorite of my youth
VardaValar1: Aiya Fladrif
VardaValar1: She died at the age of 93
FladrifV: will be here very short need to sleep aswell
VardaValar1: We have her website available on the News for those
VardaValar1: Sleep is good : )
HeruRasa: oh great, streaming adds with sound on AIM
Valandil Valar: very young for a numenorion
VardaValar1: Any more news from you folks concerning yourselves or
VardaValar1: The Tolkien Encyclopedia has been busy, although we can
certainly use more help.
VardaValar1: Articles this week:
VardaValar1: "Importance of Thorin in Middle-earth"
VardaValar1: "Elrond" by Haleth-(V)
FladrifV has left the room.
VardaValar1: "Types of Elves" has been updated.
VardaValar1: Any further web news?
VardaValar1: Menelvagor has been stuck with, er helping with, more of
the pages, mostly for WoW. Thanks to him : )
VardaValar1: Eonwe, go ahead
Eonwe Valar: Friday
Questing lead us this week in Razorfen Downs.
VardaValar1: He means in WoW USA
Eonwe Valar: Our goal: slay Amnennar the Coldbringer and drive the
Scourge from Kalimdor.
Eonwe Valar: Fangorn, Ulmo, Arathorn, and I met there, then proceeded
to make our way to the instance, dodging the unimportant battles along
Eonwe Valar: Once in the instance, we clove a path through the undead
untill we came to a hill spiralling to the top, where waited our foe.
Eonwe Valar: After a couple of rough starts, we fought our way to the
top. Arathorn had to go shortly before the big fight, however, so it
became 3 of us.
Eonwe Valar: We three slew the remaining forces standing in our way and
came to the lich.
Eonwe Valar: He put up a fight, but like all bad guys, he lost in the
ArPharazonV: congratulations :-)
ArPharazonV: any good loot? ;-)
Eonwe Valar: After that, we went to the Badlands to slay a couple of
lvl 50 elite dragons, securing the assistance of a nearby warrior. With
his help, they were dead, twice :}
VardaValar1: Fainan replaced Fangorn on that trip
Eonwe Valar: Loot wasn't the important part of the story, but a couple
of us got something we could make use of :}
VardaValar1: and lots of skins ;-)
ArPharazonV: btw, what levels are you all now? 60 yet?
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
HeruRasa: I thought loot was an important part, cept none fit me :-(
Eonwe Valar: I made 50 before going to bed Saturday Morning :}
VardaValar1: You can find our levels pretty closely on the WoW page
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya
ArPharazonV: oh, shoudl check that
Menelvagor Valar: got my mage to 59 this week
Menelvagor Valar: some 150k left for 60 *grin*
Eonwe Valar: We managed to get 3 blue items from the experience.
Eonwe Valar: Now my report is done :}
ArPharazonV: I got my druid to 40 a few days ago :-)
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe :-)
ArPharazonV: bought the mount on the same day... and now I'm 41
VardaValar1: Congrats to WoW Europe as well then. Sounds as if you've
been busy too : )
Menelvagor Valar: grats there, Phar, I had not noticed yet
ArPharazonV: made my first visit to Southshore today! and got some grey
and green quests there... so should be busy again next week :-)
ArPharazonV: as well as a log almost completely full with yellow quests
all over the world
ArPharazonV: thanks, Menel
Menelvagor Valar: Valandil has been playing with us as well, and should
have his priest up to about 10 by now
VardaValar1: Very good!
ArPharazonV: ah, he reached 10.... today or yesterday, I think
Valandil Valar: 12 to be correct :-)
ArPharazonV: so, hanging out in Westfall? :-)
Valandil Valar: yep
VardaValar1: Thanks, Europe
Valandil Valar: found some good groups
Menelvagor Valar: btw, I guess we're already in gaming news?
VardaValar1: We need to hear reports from some other games. What else
is being played?
VardaValar1: Gilraen managed to play some D2X
ArPharazonV: uhm.... Minesweeper?
ArPharazonV: oh, ok
VardaValar1: Don't forget to run your D2X characters monthly to prevent
VardaValar1: Anyone still on BroodWar?
VardaValar1: (I know you are)
Eonwe Valar: I dabble in Broodwar every now and then, and LoDME as well
VardaValar1: Anyone still in WarCraft3 or The Frozen Throne?
Menelvagor Valar: seldom
VardaValar1: Seldom beats nothing : )
ArPharazonV: indeed, very seldom
ArPharazonV: only when the server's down, and that is very seldom :-)
Menelvagor Valar: well, seldom meaning, I haven't been there in a month
or 2 :-(
VardaValar1: World of WarCraft has proven very addictive
ArPharazonV: same, Menel...
VardaValar1: How about any in Dark Age of Camelot?
VardaValar1: I know some play it
ArPharazonV: oh, btw, Fladrif returned my BfME game to me, so with some tips
given to me Wednesday by Caranthir, I might try Helm's Deep again...
VardaValar1: EverQuest? EverQuest2?
VardaValar1: Well of Souls?
ArPharazonV: oh, almost forgot that
I met Caranthir this week, in Leiden, in the Netherlands :-)
ArPharazonV: I was supposed to have only half an hour time before I had
to catch my train, but the dancing-night fell through, so we talked
about an hour or more
ArPharazonV: mostly gaming, though :-)
ArPharazonV: WoW, BfME as I said...
ArPharazonV: and of course about the Netherlands... and our unusually
high amount of bicycles ;-)
Shaggyjoe: daoc's just the same.
Shaggyjoe: nothing new really.
ArPharazonV: it was nice to meet someone from the Guild in person for
once... to have a face with the name
VardaValar1: It is indeed : )
VardaValar1: And thanks, Gelmir
Menelvagor Valar: just about 3 to 4 times as many bicycles as we have
residents to crunch some numbers *grin*
ArPharazonV: normally I get pretty nervous talking in English.. but it
was ok this time.. I even started to talk English to the waitress in
the restaurant where we got a drink ;-)
VardaValar1: You type it well
ArPharazonV: thank you
Menelvagor Valar: not as well as me, but that is to be expected *wink*
ArPharazonV: much easier to write than speak, for an outsider ;-)
VardaValar1: So we'll meet and wind up typing to each other! ;-)
VardaValar1: Maybe we'll hear about the other side of the conversation
next week if Morifinwe shows up then : )
VardaValar1: Any further news of any kind before we change the order of
Menelvagor Valar: aye
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Menelvagor
unfortunately, to suppress my costs for my upcoming study, I had to
cancel my internet connection
VardaValar1: So your web pages now need a new handler?
ArPharazonV: and we won't be seeing you online for a while?
VardaValar1: And your guild branch needs a new leader?
Menelvagor Valar: however, I have been able to arrange relocation, so
my old email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) will be reinstated
ArPharazonV: and your mage will never reach 60?
Menelvagor Valar: and I will be offline for a couple days, getting
things in order
Menelvagor Valar: and yes, I do expect my mage to be 60 by the time of
next meeting, if the other connection will go as smoothly as I hope
VardaValar1: So you are just changing connections, not losing the
Menelvagor Valar: It is likely I will move in with my mother
eventually, but before, I'm simply relocating my comp to my mom's
Menelvagor Valar: I'm hoping I can get a new non-hotmail email address
on my moms internet account, but that remains a thing of uncertainty
VardaValar1: I recommend Gmail ;-)
ArPharazonV: I can give you a Gmail-invite ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: I think I've got a gmail account
Menelvagor Valar: it just happens I recieved a notification of
Menelvagor Valar: I think I'll just use that one then
Menelvagor Valar: let me look up the address :-)
VardaValar1: We'd appreciate having it
Menelvagor Valar: email@example.com
VardaValar1: Thank you!
Menelvagor Valar: my pleasure :-)
VardaValar1: Is there any further business? Suggestions? Comments?
ArathornValar: been bouncing into meeting was in Uldaman at the start...
Menelvagor Valar: unless you want an account of europe's full guild
scarlet side 5-man adventure, nope
VardaValar1: Yes, Menel, but on the Forum : )
Menelvagor Valar: will do *smile*
ArathornValar: Just soloed Deepshadow in Uldaman .. 40 rogue .. he's a
38 elite =)
ArPharazonV: hmm.... just checking... still have a month to go with my
Menelvagor Valar: but not in the coming few days I am afraid
Haleth V has entered the room.
Haleth V: aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Haleth : )
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya Haleth
ArPharazonV: no longer druidfalconwolf?
Haleth V: lol
Valandil Valar: aiya haleth
Haleth V: figured out how to make AIM work
Eonwe Valar: Go Haleth go :}
VardaValar1: Congratulations on that and your article : )
Haleth V: thanks! : )
VardaValar1: If there is no further business?
VardaValar1: The business meeting is over
HeruRasa: I only use AIM for this meeting, and I won't even pretend to
know how it works :-)
VardaValar1: We are now shifting to Tolkien chat
VardaValar1: Please whisper me topics
ArPharazonV: I know it a little.... at least I know how to put the time
in front of the sentences...
VardaValar1: The concept of Fellowship is basic to our group
Haleth V: lol
VardaValar1: It is also basic to Tolkien
VardaValar1: It is not just in the Lord of the Rings, but elsewhere
VardaValar1: JRRT had strong friendships in real life and knew their
Menelvagor Valar: unfortunately, I have to go already, early start at
getting things ready for the relocation
Menelvagor Valar: Namarie
Haleth V: me too, although it's because I have to prepare for my trip
Haleth V: namarie
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
VardaValar1: Can you think of any places in LotR, the Hobbit, or
anywhere else that showed this idea of Fellowship?
VardaValar1: (Anyone can talk at anytime during Tolkien chats, if it is
on the subject of Tolkien)
ArPharazonV: Beren, Finrod and their companions on their way from
Nargothrond to Sauron's tower...
sauronjag has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Barahir and his 12 companions...
sauronjag: hey guys
Valandil Valar: aiya
Haleth V: hi
ArPharazonV: the thirteen Dwarves in the Hobbit...
VardaValar1: Finrod and Beren
Eonwe Valar: Turin and Beleg
Haleth V: the seven sons of Feanor too, I guess
ArPharazonV: Tuor and Voronwe
ArPharazonV: Gelmir and Arminas... or whatever his name was...
VardaValar1: Shaggyjoe should know that one ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Beleg sunk as low as to hang out with normal humans to
hang out with Turin :}
sauronjag: aside from Sam and frodo, I think the best example is Turin
and Beleg even though there were a lot of misunderstandings
Valandil Valar: misunderstandings ?
Haleth V: I'd better get going all, namarie
VardaValar1: Namarie, Haleth
Haleth V has left the room.
Valandil Valar: namarie
VardaValar1: Getting killed by Turin by accident was a major
Eonwe Valar: I would say most of them were involved with rash decisions
on Turin's part :}
HeruRasa: can't find my UT, but Andarion had a whole formal group of
sauronjag: aye turin seemed very much controlled by the strife that he
went through in his life
ArPharazonV: you referring to his chasing of Saeros, or fleeing Doriath
because of it, Eonwe?
VardaValar1: Really about the relationship between Turin and Beleg
VardaValar1: A friendship can continue to thrive, even when such things
ArPharazonV: Turin was both too rash and too stubborn... he could have
had a much better life... well, besides Melkor's curse, of course
sauronjag: I think he was both rash and stubborn because of the result
and ways the curse manifested itself
ArPharazonV: aye, that might have something to do with it ;-)
HearNoEvil80 has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: how about Huor and Hurin? and Turgon included, perhaps?
Eonwe Valar: Turin was alot like Fëanor
ArPharazonV: aye, rash, prideful, and yet powerful and persuasive
Valandil Valar: I always wondered why an immortal elf would give his
life to save that of a mortal human (linke Finrod Felagund)
ArPharazonV: his oath, I guess :-)
ArPharazonV: he knew he'd be coming back anyway ;-)
VardaValar1: Finrod swore an oath, plus it was friendship, plus it was
a way to directly battle evil
Valandil Valar: coming back ?
ArPharazonV: aye, from Mandos
ArPharazonV: if you ask me, it's stranger that a mortal human would
give his life to save an elf who won't be gone forever anyway
Eonwe Valar: I don't think it took those particular Elves long to
realize how much mortals were risking, though mortals were willing to
risk it anyway.
ArPharazonV: when Finrod battled that wolf, I don't think he intended
to die :-)
Eonwe Valar: No one intends to die :} But Finrod knew what was going to
happen when he helped Beren.
VardaValar1: Finrod took the werewolf with him
ArPharazonV: there is a big difference between knowing you're gonna die
when you do something, or risking your life while doing it
VardaValar1: Finrod did not return to Middle-earth, so yes he was lost.
Bad loss to the world, as he was the Friend of Men
ArPharazonV: but by his actions, Beren procured the Silmaril, which
ultimately led to the Exiles' salvation
VardaValar1: He also had to give up his kingdom to help
ArPharazonV: aye, but only to his brother... and he probably still
hoped he was coming back :-)
VardaValar1: His brother was not up to it
Eonwe Valar: Finrod had a revelation that he would have to be free to
fullfill an oath, and that nothing of his kingdom would remain to be
passed down to a son.
ArPharazonV: a son, you say... interesting
ArPharazonV: weren't Tolkien's later developments about making Orodreth
a member of the next generation?
Eonwe Valar: It's a conversation between he and Galadriel I believe,
during the Feast of Mirth if memory serves.
MoriFinwe has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Caranthir : )
Eonwe Valar: I'm not sure at the moment, Phar, but I would assume that
if it were, he would eventually reconcile that with his previous body
MoriFinwe: Aiya sry forgot about the meeting and was about to go to bed
ArPharazonV: Aiya :-)
VardaValar1: JRRT needed another lifetime or two
VardaValar1: We talked about you Caranthir ;-)
ArPharazonV: and bicycles :-)
MoriFinwe: really i hope they were all good things
VardaValar1: Finrod's son might have to come over from Valinor to make
VardaValar1: Then we have Merry and Pippin : )
ArPharazonV: and... ahem... Smeagol and Deagol...
VardaValar1: I don't want to be in that Fellowship! Smeagol and Deagol!
Eonwe Valar: That's not a very good example of fellowship
Valandil Valar: gimli and legolas
VardaValar1: The sons of Feanor stuck together, although I'm not sure
that would be called a Fellowship. More like family
ArPharazonV: do we know any Dwarven Fellowships besides the obvious
VardaValar1: The ones inside Moria maybe?
Valandil Valar: elf - dwarf
Valandil Valar: very unusual
Eonwe Valar: Dwarves travelled between their lands and human lands all
VardaValar1: Aye, Valandil
VardaValar1: Thranduil had a kind of friendship with the dwarves at the
end of the Battle of Five Armies
Valandil Valar: fili and kili, but they were brothers
ArPharazonV: let's call it an uneasy peace... at least he didn't lock
any Dwarves up in his dungeons anymore...
HearNoEvil80: What about in the Hobbit? Where the band of dwarves come
to Bilbo's house? wouldn't that be considered a "Fellowship" ??
VardaValar1: Indeed it would
Valandil Valar: it would yes
HearNoEvil80: uh pardon me didn't see Phar's msg
Eonwe Valar: We mentioned that one already
HearNoEvil80: lil late....sorry about that
VardaValar1: Glad you could come. And sometimes the second mention will
bring something new with it
VardaValar1: That was a large fellowship with a slightly mixed group
Eonwe Valar: Aulë, Ulmo, and Manwë. There's a fellowship
anyone wise would get in on :}
VardaValar1: Aye : )
VardaValar1: Ulmo and Manwe especially, making clouds together
ArPharazonV: aye, clouds... rain and snow... interesting fact, that
neither of them expected it during the music
Eonwe Valar: It came about from Melkor's discord
ArPharazonV: which makes for some interesting consequences... for
example, they could never have foreseen the fell winters, snowstorms,
MoriFinwe: Also Elendil and Gil-galad for they must have had a strong
fellowship with each other to stand against Sauron
VardaValar1: Good point
VardaValar1: The cold came from Melkor
Valandil Valar: is there such a relationship between eomer and theodens
VardaValar1: Quite possibly, although it was not discussed
ArPharazonV: hmm... yes... they were good friends, according to UT
ArPharazonV: no jealousy between them, not even one that Wormtongue
Eonwe Valar: They were related by blood.
Valandil Valar: yes but good friends is not the same as a fellowship
ArPharazonV: I'd have to read the exact details in UT
Eonwe Valar: And chances are they grew up almost like brothers.
ArPharazonV: lemme find it
VardaValar1: Well, we went with Sam and Frodo
VardaValar1: Guess we could just say the idea of strong friendship?
VardaValar1: One would give his life for the other
VardaValar1: Would Frodo give his life for Sam's? Maybe not while he
had the responsibilty of the Ring
ArPharazonV: ok, found it...
VardaValar1: Thanks Phar
GilraenV: I'm off, work tomorrow. Namarie, folks.
VardaValar1: Namarie Gilraen!
Eonwe Valar: You're likely right there. The rest of the Fellowship was
there to keep Frodo safe, not the other way around.
Valandil Valar: frodo and sam is the real idealized master servant
relationship in angelsaxon tradition
HearNoEvil80: Pertaining to your comment about Good friends not being
the same as fellowship Valandil ....... Fellowship defined as follows:
The companionship of individuals in a congenial atmosphere and on equal
Eonwe Valar: It kinda defeates the purpose if Frodo jumps in front of
an arrow or something.
VardaValar1: Frodo might have been willing, but should not
HearNoEvil80: A close association of friends or equals sharing similar
interests. Friendship; comradeship.
ArPharazonV: Eomer also was not an ambitious man, and his love and
respect for Theodred (thirteen years older than he) was only second to
his love of his foster-father.
GilraenV has left the room.
HearNoEvil80: so by definition Sam and Frodo's relationship could be
considered a fellowship
MoriFinwe: I have to go must wake up in less than 5 hours to go to
Venice early tommorrow morning.
VardaValar1: Usually a fellowship suggests more than two, as in a group
Valandil Valar: that is a fellowship, so the relationship Frodo and Sam
is not really correct
VardaValar1: Sleep well!
ArPharazonV: Grima therefore tried to play them one against the other
in the mind of Theoden, representing Eomer as ever eager to increase
his own authority and to act without consulting the King or his Heir.
MoriFinwe has left the room.
VardaValar1: But the hobbits, the Conspiracy, could be considered a
HearNoEvil80: I can see why it would usually mean more than just
2...but there is no "amount" given to what a fellowship must consist of?
ArPharazonV: In this he had some succes, which bore fruit when Saruman
at last succeeded in achieving the death of Theodred.
VardaValar1: I would think a fellowship could actually be two, but is
usually considered more
ArPharazonV: and I don't think there's anymore about Theodred and
Eomer... oh well
VardaValar1: Aye Phar
VardaValar1: That was in which chapter?
HearNoEvil80: tis a shame...never enough on Rohan and the Rohirrim when
you want it *smirk*
ArPharazonV: Battles of the Ford of Isen, UT as I said
HearNoEvil80: anyone know how to get my font smaller....I'm taking up
too much space...won't let me in this window
ArPharazonV: the first page of the chapter
VardaValar1: Maybe something under Peoples of Middle-earth?
Eonwe Valar: Chat Preferences Under File likely has it
ArPharazonV: CPUF? what's that?
HearNoEvil80: Ah thanks
Eonwe Valar: Chat Preferences
Eonwe Valar: under Font
Eonwe Valar: er, File
ArPharazonV: oh, ok... about the font... never mind
Eonwe Valar: then when you have selected Chat Preferences, go to Font
VardaValar1: We multi-task : )
VardaValar1: We can have fellowhship, one with another
Eonwe Valar: So we're looking for messages in our messages now?
VardaValar1: even with dyslexia
VardaValar1: or extra letters
VardaValar1: Might be code!
Eonwe Valar: I prefer to fellowship against dyslexia, but ok:}
VardaValar1: You guys remember the Conspiracy? The hobbits who spied on
VardaValar1: Me too, Eonwe : )
Xseanzee disco has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Gil-galad!
Eonwe Valar: Aye, Fatty, Merry, Pippin, and the Ringleader, Sam
Xseanzee disco: Hey : )
ArPharazonV: Ringleader... heh..
Eonwe Valar: ringleader, no pun intended
VardaValar1: It was so perfect though
ArPharazonV: the Leader vs the Bearer...
Eonwe Valar: Bilbo was the Ringwearer, was he not? now we've got
another fellowship right there, or a social club at least.
VardaValar1: All the bearers of the One Ring were like a club, not sure
you could call that a Fellowship though : )
HearNoEvil80: well you could
VardaValar1: The wearers of the Three Elven rings were pretty thick
VardaValar1: as in very close
ArPharazonV: Smeagol... Sauron... Bilbo... Gollum... Isildur...
HearNoEvil80: since they shared the aspect of bearing the ring
HearNoEvil80: and they were all hobbits
ArPharazonV: who'd I miss?
VardaValar1: Deagol carried the Ring a few minutes
ArPharazonV: oh, Deagol, of course... as long as it lasted
VardaValar1: Frodo, Sam
Valandil Valar: hey guys, going to bed now, have to work tomorrow
VardaValar1: Good night!
VardaValar1: Pretty late in Belgium
ArPharazonV: hah... can't believe I forgot Frodo...
VardaValar1: What time is it there?
ArPharazonV: and Sam...
Xseanzee disco: night valandil
ArPharazonV: half past midnight
Valandil Valar: correct !
VardaValar1: Thanks. Sleep fast!
ArPharazonV: it's not that late ;-)
VardaValar1: It is when you work
Valandil Valar: well, i have to be at work at 8
Valandil Valar: so, ...
VardaValar1: Mara mesta : )
ArPharazonV: well, I have to get up early tomorrow too, you know...
ArPharazonV: *cough* 11 am *cough*
VardaValar1: Then maybe we should break and let everyone sleep or game
VardaValar1: Fangorn says hi from WoW
Eonwe Valar: Hey Fangorn :}
ArPharazonV: hiya, Treebeard!
VardaValar1: He made a lovely barbecued brisket we have to go try.
VardaValar1: I hope it's not Orc
Valandil Valar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Orc wouldn't smell good :}
VardaValar1: That's a relief!
ArPharazonV: orc meat isn't that bad... once properly prepared...
unfortunately I don't have the recipe yet :-)
HearNoEvil80: I dunno...I've heard it tastes like chicken
Eonwe Valar: You know at the least it's Hobbit :}
VardaValar1: We do feel like we're in the Matrix sometimes : )
HearNoEvil80: I knew I should've taken the blue pill
Eonwe Valar: Bah, always take the red pill :}
VardaValar1: I'm going to brag on Grimbold/HearNoEvil. He just finished
a three-hour C-section on a cow and is still conscious and with us.
Eonwe Valar: Congrats :}
HearNoEvil80: Hehe thanks....its all up to the cow now
HearNoEvil80: sadly the calf already passed away before we arrived
HearNoEvil80: it was a mess
VardaValar1: I hope she does ok
Eonwe Valar: sorry to hear that
HearNoEvil80: same here...unfortunately there isn't a high percentage
rate of survival after a cow undergoes c-section
VardaValar1: At least she has a chance
VardaValar1: Zero without your help
HearNoEvil80: very true
VardaValar1: I'm going to let you heroes go on to rest or game
Eonwe Valar: No medical improvements have been made in that area?
HearNoEvil80: in the area I am in...its quite limited
HearNoEvil80: Think of like neighborhood and times of the Andy Griffith
HearNoEvil80: only w/o the nice ppl heh
VardaValar1: Well, at least one nice person
Eonwe Valar: Ah, so it's the access to the resources?
HearNoEvil80: basically yea...
Eonwe Valar: ok
HearNoEvil80: we're about 2 hrs away from any signs of "civilization"
VardaValar1: Cattle are bad about that
HearNoEvil80: Aye...no one wants "farm smell" in the cities
Eonwe Valar: Sounds like fun :} Would have to go satellite for tv and
internet though. Not likely they want to string wires just for one
Eonwe Valar: Aye, everyone prefers "car smell" apparently :}
HearNoEvil80: lol yea
Eonwe Valar: Well, you might want to take this chance to avoid keyboard
Eonwe Valar: Think everyone's afk at this point but you and me :}
VardaValar1: We should push Eonwe onto WoW
HearNoEvil80: oooh you're not in WoW?
VardaValar1: I'm in a few windows chatting
Eonwe Valar: I was looking at heading that way shortly :}
HearNoEvil80: shame shame
VardaValar1: Hey! You have one of them, Grimbold! ;-)
VardaValar1: You would be most welcome in WoW, Auros
ArPharazonV: not afk.... completely, at least...
HearNoEvil80: I need to get a char started up again in WoW had to
delete account for awhile
Eonwe Valar: you cancelled it? or did it just run out?
VardaValar1: Grimpadre was dropped
VardaValar1: He gave away his stuff, very kind
HearNoEvil80: was hoping I could make it til I got to school but I'm
going thru withdraw
HearNoEvil80: I am feeling the call of WoW daily *smirk*
VardaValar1: Come to us, come to Lotharrrr
Eonwe Valar: Ah, was going to say chances are good you can come back in
with your old chars if it only expired.
ArPharazonV: well, there's just one solution to that problem... play
HearNoEvil80: Noo I must resist the call of the ringwraiths! aaah
VardaValar1: We could have fun helping you work up a new one
Eonwe Valar: I like WoW, but I don't know if I could play it daily :}
HearNoEvil80: hmmm what char should I start up...hmmm...
ArPharazonV: I've played it daily for weeks now...
VardaValar1: The one that is most fun for you
HearNoEvil80: Druid sounds nice
HearNoEvil80: haven't tried that
ArPharazonV: druid is great!
Eonwe Valar: We only have one Rogue in the Guild right now if that
gives you ideas :} Arathorn needs competition :}
VardaValar1: Several builds you can try
HearNoEvil80: ooh rogues a good idea too
HearNoEvil80: then again all the classes sound good lol
VardaValar1: Sauron-(Valar) says rogues are so good they are broken
Eonwe Valar: But seriously, go with what you're going to have the most
fun with :}
ArPharazonV: what's the class you like least?
Eonwe Valar: My 45 Rogue would beg to differ :}
VardaValar1: Whatever you enjoy is the one you will do best in
ArPharazonV: broken as in IMBA!!
VardaValar1: Broken, a term meaning they are too good
HearNoEvil80: ooh...sorry haven't kept up to date on all the linguinity
if that's even a word hehe...
ArPharazonV: actually, that's not broken... broken is when it does
something it shouldn't
Eonwe Valar: My Rogue dies plenty
VardaValar1: Eonwe? You hve a 45 rogue?
HearNoEvil80: sounds like italian pasta
HearNoEvil80: mmmm hungry!
Eonwe Valar: On Alleria
ArPharazonV: if it does what it should, but just too powerful in what
it should do, it's just overpowered
VardaValar1: It is a weird term used in gaming, especially in D&D
ArPharazonV: if it doesn't do what it should do, powerful or not, it's
Eonwe Valar: I spend some time there, and some time on Lothar.
VardaValar1: Phar, this is a jargon term
ArPharazonV: that's a term-difference taught to me harshly in the War3
ArPharazonV: I know
VardaValar1: but aye, you said it well
Eonwe Valar: Depending on server issues, lag, etc.
ArPharazonV: I know very well it's a jargon term
ArPharazonV: but, within the jargon, it has been taught to me
VardaValar1: Sauron, always bringing trouble
Eonwe Valar: hehe
ArPharazonV: I blame the war3 forums...
Eonwe Valar: Sauron the Abhorred, Gorthaur the Cruel.. None of these
names sound like he's going to bring sunshine and flowers :}
VardaValar1: Too true : )
HearNoEvil80: I must head to the clinic to take care of some ICU
patients...then I'll try to stop by in WoW
VardaValar1: Our Sauron-(Valar) is a very sweet guy, fortunately,
except for the muhahaha's
VardaValar1: He heard the call!
HearNoEvil80: Be back in a bit
Eonwe Valar: Take care Grimbold :}
VardaValar1: You should probably sleep : )
HearNoEvil80: will do, you all do the same
HearNoEvil80: Bah sleep are for the unworthy! I must go on!!!
Eonwe Valar: Sleep for 10 seconds at a time,. then stay awake for 10
seconds. WOn't miss anyhting that way, but life will look like a flip
ArPharazonV: a lot can happen in 10 seconds...
VardaValar1: too true : )
ArPharazonV: ever seen what a 10 second lag can do when you're fighting
an elite battle? ;-)
VardaValar1: Go play, guys : )
VardaValar1: Or while driving?
Eonwe Valar: I've seen what a 2-minute lag can do :}
VardaValar1: All wispy after
ArPharazonV: I've seen what an all-server standstill for like 5 minutes
Eonwe Valar: I've seen what going into Ironforge can do :}
ArPharazonV: half the world logged out, the other half stood still and
either got lucky or got killed
VardaValar1: Namarie for now, mellyn : )
Eonwe Valar: take care :}
VardaValar1 has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: OK, I guess this is where I'll make my esca--er, exit as
ArPharazonV: indeed, as will I
Eonwe Valar: take care all :}
ArPharazonV: going to save now... I guess the meeting's dead now
Eonwe Valar: have fun, and come to Lothar :}
ArPharazonV: nope, not yet...
ArPharazonV: not until Blizzard finally gives us the
ArPharazonV: btw, I heard something about that
ArPharazonV: in some interview with Blizzard
Eonwe Valar: and?
ArPharazonV: I recall that if they're going to make that connection,
ArPharazonV: it'll be via some cross-continental servers...
ArPharazonV: so it would mean we all have to meet on a new server
Eonwe Valar: arg
ArPharazonV: instead of being able to use already existing servers over
Eonwe Valar: Just get an international credit card like Elatan, hehe :}
ArPharazonV: but if you think about it
ArPharazonV: new, cross-continental servers, would be the most logical
way to go for Blizzard
ArPharazonV: the most efficient
Eonwe Valar: perhaps
ArPharazonV: it makes sense to me, at least
ArPharazonV: tough luck for us, but still...
Eonwe Valar: aye
Eonwe Valar: The question is how stable would the servers be
ArPharazonV: aye, that's true
Eonwe Valar: How many would want to move to these servers
Eonwe Valar: *and
ArPharazonV: I would if you guys would, with a new character
Eonwe Valar: Well, that'll be a fun discussion when it comes down to it.
Eonwe Valar: Guess we'll wait and see if and when they implement these
Eonwe Valar: It might be less painful for some if they initiated a
character transfer to these servers, but I don't know if I'd take them
up on that anyway.
Eonwe Valar: Starting fresh would at least give everyone a level
ArPharazonV: right... I'd rather keep my old character home and get a
new one for a new community anyway
sauronjag has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Anyway, I guess we'll see when we get there. Alot to think
about until then.
aranfinwe: time for me to depart, namarie all
Eonwe Valar: take care Finw
aranfinwe has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: I'm going to head out as well./
ArPharazonV: ok then
Eonwe Valar: Take care all.
ArPharazonV: I'll save and send
Eonwe Valar: Come to Lothar :}
ArPharazonV: not me :-)
Eonwe Valar has left the room.
