:
You have just entered room "valar guild meetingplace."
sauronjag: level
ArPharazonV: Aiya
ArPharazonV: ah
VardaValar1: Aiya
Menelvagor Valar: DaoC I take it :-)
Menelvagor Valar: I have canceled my account for DaoC
ArPharazonV: in preparation for WoW?
Menelvagor Valar: and unless the game gets canceled before I return to it, I can re-open it :-)
Menelvagor Valar: yeah
Menelvagor Valar: can't afford 2 MMO's
VardaValar1: A little early there?
ArPharazonV: a few days to go.... quite the timing for my pc to go bad...
VardaValar1: That's what worries me about Middle-earth Online
ArPharazonV: oh, btw...
VardaValar1: I am having a problem with a dog yanking out our phone lines
ArPharazonV: remember those two 'movies' that were added to the humor-section this week?
VardaValar1: In case I disappear abruptly
VardaValar1: What about them
sauronjag: affording 2 is rough :-)
sauronjag: one is bad enough
FarmerMaggotV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: I found the sequel, someone from the war3 forum posted it :-)
FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
VardaValar1: you have the link?
ArPharazonV: http://img147.exs.cx/img147/6067/catapult7 kc6pn.gif
VardaValar1: Comes after the current catapult?
ArPharazonV: aye
ArPharazonV: I think so
FarmerMaggotV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: unless there was something in between, but not sure
FarmerMaggotV: hm, I see no bridge
bnetValar has entered the room.
bnetValar has left the room.
VardaValar1: came and went
FarmerMaggotV: hm, odd
FarmerMaggotV: maybe it isn't working :-P
ArPharazonV: I have found the source of my latest pc-problems, something wrong with specific parts of my motherboard
VardaValar1: ouch
ArPharazonV: should be worsening until I can install a new one
ArPharazonV: so I could disappear any moment as well
ArPharazonV: except I don't expect I shall return very soon :-(
VardaValar1: oh goodie. We can crash together
VardaValar1: Takes a little while to rewire the phone line too :-)
ArPharazonV: heheh...
ArPharazonV: I'm talking in terms of half an hours or more
FarmerMaggotV: can someone pop into battle.net for a sec?
VardaValar1: Public Chat Valar?
FarmerMaggotV: yeah, just send an IM to the bridge: !reload AIM
ArPharazonV: sorry, won't risk it... when playing games, there's an even bigger chance of it failing
VardaValar1: one sec
ArPharazonV: btw, finished the Quenta Silmarillion this morning
ArPharazonV: am now reading the Akallabeth
ArPharazonV: after that the Rings of Power, and when I've finished the book I think I'll slow down a little for my study...
GwaihirValar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
the loser emu has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
GwaihirValar: hello
mordacil: aiya
the loser emu: Hey hi.
Musics4Me2 has entered the room.
FarmerMaggotV: aha, thank you Varda
VardaValar1: Done, Farmer
Musics4Me2: Varda-(Valar) (Bnet): Worked :-)
ArPharazonV: cool
VardaValar1: Aiya. Welcome
FarmerMaggotV: it should be working from SigmaChat (the java chat app) too
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): like this?
FarmerMaggotV: mhm
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): cool
VardaValar1: A little testing going on here, pardon
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): new
ArPharazonV: member?
VardaValar1: Opening sigma chat
VardaValar1: emu is a friend of a guild member
the loser emu: :-)
the loser emu: I just observe.
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): that's what you have eyes for, right?
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
VardaValar1: That worked. Emu showed up in sigma chat
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): aye,
ArPharazonV: he did
FarmerMaggotV: <ego>Of course it worked ;-)</ego>
the loser emu: She
HeruRasa has entered the room.
GwaihirValar: oh come now... you don't need the /ego tag... ;-)
FarmerMaggotV: lol
VardaValar1: aiya
HeruRasa: Aiya
mordacil: what is sigma chat?
GilraenV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: See News page, last Sunday's meeting
VardaValar1: Alatar set up a test spot for us to try for a meeting
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): *bird*
ArPharazonV: lol, I guess sounds don't make it through
VardaValar1: If we can work it ok, he will pay for the bigger program that allows us to boot etc
Menelvagor Valar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: wb
ArPharazonV: Varda, could you check... if /me commands in bnet show up here?
FarmerMaggotV: they do
ArPharazonV: ok
FarmerMaggotV: and in IRC
Orodreth V has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Musics4Me2: Varda-(Valar) (Bnet): So many windows open!
Musics4Me2: Varda-(Valar) (Bnet): *This is a /me command*
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): meh, only 4 myself
Musics4Me2: Varda-(Valar) (Bnet): Want some more? :-)
FarmerMaggotV: only 7+ tabs, unusually low
FarmerMaggotV: (7 windows, 3 tabs)
ArPharazonV: buddy list, this window, sigmachat, and an IM with Orodreth
ArPharazonV: which I think I can close now
ArPharazonV: I'm leaving MSN and Winamp closed, to lessen the stress on my pc...
mordacil: I found this rock version of the "rar over the misty mountains cold..." song
mordacil: the solos are kinda long
mordacil: and the whole thing is 8 min
FarmerMaggotV: ooh, hyperlinks aren't forwarded
mordacil: http://www.guard-of-amendor.de/songs/Gu ard-of-Amendor-%20Far%20over%20the %20misty%20mountains%20cold.mp3
VardaValar1: Ok, going to start invites now
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.

the loser emu: dong.
ArPharazonV: *claaaang*
VardaValar1: Inviting members
VardaValar1: Give them a sec to join
VardaValar1: ok, members and alts that I have are invited
VardaValar1: Anyone with news please pm me so I can jot it down so we all get in our chance to speak
VardaValar1: Ok, looks as if we are set up now. Feel free to give a holler if you remember something else

VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo
VardaValar1: Member News:
VardaValar1: Orodreth, go ahead
VardaValar1: *nudges Orodreth*
GwaihirValar: *butts Orodreth with wing*
ArPharazonV: *hits Orodreth with scepter*
Orodreth V: Oops.
Orodreth V: >.>
Orodreth V: I'm getting a new computer!
VardaValar1: Woot :-)
GwaihirValar: (sorry to interrupt here... I'm not feeling well, I'm gonna go lie down for an hour... I'll scroll when I get back :-))
Orodreth V: Becasue this one is dieing. :-
Menelvagor Valar: *winks at Orodreth :-P*
Orodreth V: :-
FarmerMaggotV: afk, dinner
Orodreth V: :-'(
Orodreth V: Bleh.
VardaValar1: Namarie for a bit those afking
Orodreth V: whatever.
Orodreth V: Anyways.
ArPharazonV: Namarie
ArPharazonV: congrats Oro
Orodreth V: Yea, my wuvly laptop is dieing.
VardaValar1: Orodreth, when do you expect it?
ArPharazonV: and somehow my own messages in here make a noise in sigmachat, while your messages don't.... hmm...
Orodreth V: By March..need to finialize everything, going to have a riend build it.
VardaValar1: Good luck with that
Orodreth V: So I can't play any games on here.
VardaValar1: What games are you going to try to rig it to handle?
ArPharazonV: WoW? ;-)
Orodreth V: It works fine for web brousing and chatting.
Orodreth V: But even BW lags.
VardaValar1: ouch
Eonwe Valar: Wow that's bad when BW lags :}
Orodreth V: Um.
Orodreth V: It should be able to run most things.
ArPharazonV: like windows, winamp, Explorer...
Orodreth V: It's a slightly better version of what my friend has, around $800, should be able to run HL2, Doom3..so pretty good.
Orodreth V: Still no chance of me getting WoW until summer when I get a job though.
VardaValar1: WoW? : )
VardaValar1: okie dokie, we'll quit bugging you :-)
Orodreth V: Unless someone is going to pay my monthly fee for me. :-P
VardaValar1: Do they take Diablo gold?
VardaValar1: If not, job hunting sounds good
VardaValar1: Any further member news?
Orodreth V: Oh, I've got 50 Gmail invites.
ArPharazonV: you could create characters in WoW, then sell them on Ebay, and use them to pay for your monthly fee...
ArPharazonV: if that wasn't illegal :-)
Eonwe Valar: not really
VardaValar1: Kindly don't
VardaValar1: 50! wow
top

VardaValar1: Web News
Eonwe Valar: even if it weren't you couldn't. You'd have to create a new account for each character
VardaValar1: Chat room news
VardaValar1: Farmer asked me to pass on that he now has four bridges going for the chat:
VardaValar1: AIM, Battle.net in Public Channel Valar, Sigma Chat, and IRC
VardaValar1: Also, Alatar asked us to test out Sigma Chat during a meeting
ArPharazonV: isn't that like a bnet-map? the four bridges?
VardaValar1: URL coming up:
VardaValar1: heheh
ArPharazonV: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
VardaValar1: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
ArPharazonV: :-)
VardaValar1: Please give it a try, using your guild name as username
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): helps to have the window already open...
VardaValar1: It's supposed to be very user-friendly
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): hiya
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor (SigmaChat): so it does :-)
VardaValar1: Also, he wants to buy a version for the guild allowing lots of options including the ever-popular "ban" or "kick"
ArPharazonV: is it possible to easily switch names this way?
VardaValar1: You can type in your guild name as your original user name
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor (SigmaChat): Aiya Ulmo
VardaValar1: It will take it
VardaValar1: I was in and crashed out of it somehow
Musics4Me2: Ulmo-Valar (SigmaChat): are we moving here now?
ArPharazonV: if, for example, I wanted to change my username to 'TarCalionV', I could do so without much trouble, and switch back if I wanted to?
VardaValar1: We are trying it out
VardaValar1: If the guild likes it, we can make it the main area
Menelvagor Valar: not really, we can go both ways, doesn't really matter who is where, thanks to FM :-)
VardaValar1: We have bridges for all the areas members say they are willing to come to for meetings
VardaValar1: We are trying to kill some of the reasons people use not to come to meetings :-)
ArPharazonV: have there ever been any meetings with like 30-40 people present?
VardaValar1: The sigma chat has many features to help and less problem with potentially downloading viruses etc
VardaValar1: Not usually much over 20
VardaValar1: We get over 20, we get a new meeting area, we lose half
Menelvagor Valar: I've seen meetings with a couple dozen, but never that much
VardaValar1: then we build back up to 20+ and cycle repeats
VardaValar1: We have 128 full members, 25 Tolkien onlies, and guild friends
Menelvagor Valar: seems we won't have to now :-)
VardaValar1: Could get big
VardaValar1: We'll see :-)
VardaValar1: Anyway, it looks good
FladrifV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Fladrif :-)
Menelvagor Valar: long time no see :-)
VardaValar1: We are trying out another chat room, bridging chat from four places
VardaValar1: See if you can join using guild name:
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): join us here :-)
VardaValar1: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
Musics4Me2: Ulmo-Valar (SigmaChat): who is Bridge?
VardaValar1: You can be in all places at once too :-)
FladrifV: aiya
FarmerMaggotV: Bridge is the user who sends messages back and forth
VardaValar1: Farmer Maggot runs the bridge program
FarmerMaggotV: yeah, if you've got any questions feel free to ask -> I wrote it, so I can usually guess why it does something somehow :-P
ArPharazonV: bridge there is Musics4Me2 here
FladrifV: I've been running the bridge program for a test a while back
VardaValar1: He currently has it set to show the same thing from AIM, Bnet, IRC, and Sigma Chat
VardaValar1: Considering MSN as well. Any of you want it?
ArPharazonV: as soon as my pc is fixed and clean, I think I'll try attending the meeting from 3 different places ;-)
VardaValar1: Music is also Farmer Maggot
FladrifV: msn would be nice
VardaValar1: I'm in three now
FladrifV: or icq
ArPharazonV: I use AIM more than MSN, but why not...
ArPharazonV: would give me 4 places to be in :-)
FarmerMaggotV: ICQ is kinda supported -> AOL owns ICQ now, and I think you can join AIM chats from there
VardaValar1: Use the one you like best
VardaValar1: Sigma Chat may have the best safety and control features
VardaValar1: Anything else you want to add, Farmer?
FarmerMaggotV: nope, just if you have questions, ask. And the channel info, etc is on the news page
ArPharazonV: my non-guild-friends are all located in MSN, so it's pretty useful, but I resent the fact I don't hear messages when I'm playing a game, while I do hear messages in AIM
ArPharazonV: so AIM I use mostly now...
VardaValar1: Thanks, Farmer :-)
Eonwe Valar: I have a quick question about the bridge.
FarmerMaggotV: sure Eonwe
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor-Valar (IRC): 4 places now :-)
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): lol :D
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor-Vala@Azeroth (Bnet): way to go FM :-)
VardaValar1: Eonwe's floor now
ArPharazonV: brb, getting a drink...
Eonwe Valar: Is there a way for the bridge to be used to whisper people in the separate channels? If this does end up becoming a standard/widely used, it will get messy conducting meetings if they can't whisper the chair.
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor (SigmaChat): all I need now is a 2nd CD-ROM player and log in on D2x and have 4 clones of myself lol
VardaValar1: Chair has the joy of being in a lot of places? :-)
FarmerMaggotV: Eonwe -> not yet, I'd need to think about how to lay it out
VardaValar1: It does sound sticky
FarmerMaggotV: perhaps just be able to forward messages to the chair, and only the chair?
FarmerMaggotV: that would simplify things a lot, and not overload any service with IMs
VardaValar1: Messages also help keep down the private chats going on in the main meeting
FarmerMaggotV: yea, but there's a cap on how many messages and such on most of the networks
ArPharazonV: and most of the fun of the 'private' chat is that the others can join in...
FladrifV: magoth why not use deamontools?
FladrifV: you can mount then virtual 8 drives :-)
VardaValar1: Phar, it can be very chaotic quickly
VardaValar1: There are a lot of private chats going
FallenGlory has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
ArPharazonV: that's true
FallenGlory: Howdy
VardaValar1: The best thing is to try to get us mostly in one place
VardaValar1: Aiya Olwe
VardaValar1: Did I get the right name? :-)
FarmerMaggotV: yeah, unfort, I can't set the limitations of other networks, I'd love to be able to IM between them all
FallenGlory: lol, I assume so
ArPharazonV: I tend to like chaotic gathering and busy chatrooms sometimes... but perhaps that's just me
VardaValar1: It's fine if not conducting business
ArPharazonV: yup, that's a good point
Menelvagor Valar: I like things orderly and clean, especially during meeting times :-)
VardaValar1: So, can everyone reach the sigma chat ok?
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): so far only 4 of us here
VardaValar1: I only see 4
Musics4Me2: Menelvagor-Valar (IRC): only me in mIRC tho :-)
VardaValar1: I need to let Alatar have some idea of how we are doing with it :-)
the loser emu has left the room.
VardaValar1: Maybe most of the group are afk, happens a lot I suspect ;-)
FarmerMaggotV: heh
ArPharazonV: can you imagine what it would be like if 40 people were here...
VardaValar1: While you are presumably experimenting
ArPharazonV: 35 people afk
VardaValar1: If like you Phar?
VardaValar1: Would be chaos ;-)
ArPharazonV: probably, aye
ArPharazonV: I'm evil, you know ;-)
FarmerMaggotV: or like me, one eye on Age of Mythology one eye on AIM :-P
ArPharazonV: ah, that a good game? was thinking of buying it, but that genre has mostly lost my interest...
FarmerMaggotV: it's nice
VardaValar1: Not in gaming yet, on to Web News
top

VardaValar1: Web News:
VardaValar1: continued...
VardaValar1: Tolkien Encyclopedia:
VardaValar1: Stories: new one by Elwing
VardaValar1: http://valarguild.org/varda/Tolkien/encyc/ficti on/MidnightMusings.htm
VardaValar1: Midnight Musings
VardaValar1: Humor pages for Encyc:
VardaValar1: We have two for Tolkien humor:
VardaValar1: text and visual
VardaValar1: both now being handled by Menelvagor!
VardaValar1: I will have the link up as soon as possible on the Encyc to his new splash page
VardaValar1: He is also handling:
VardaValar1: "You know you're in Valar when..."
VardaValar1: He has a new humor link up now
VardaValar1: Menel, do you have it handy?
Menelvagor Valar: 2 actually
Menelvagor Valar: sent in by Arwen last week
VardaValar1: That would make three
Menelvagor Valar: also on the news
Menelvagor Valar: http://www.askesis.org/images/temp/mordor -vi.gif
Menelvagor Valar: http://www.askesis.org/images/temp/catapul t1id.gif
Menelvagor Valar: and of course, the splash page which includes all 3 of the humor links for easy access: http://valarguild.org/menelvagor/humorsplash .html
Menelvagor Valar: and I think that is the one you meant, Varda :-)
VardaValar1: Someone mentioned finding the link to the one after the catapult as well
ArPharazonV: oh, yes, Menel, I found the third part of that sequence
VardaValar1: found, from Phar:
FarmerMaggotV: hahaha!
ArPharazonV: http://img147.exs.cx/img147/6067/catapult7 kc6pn.gif
VardaValar1: http://img147.exs.cx/img147/6067/catapult7 kc6pn.gif
ArPharazonV: brb, getting something for a potential topic
ArPharazonV: back
VardaValar1: long, a bit nasty
mordacil: http://www.guard-of-amendor.de/songs/Gu ard-of-Amendor-%20Far%20over%20the %20misty%20mountains%20cold.mp3
VardaValar1: Next web news:
mordacil: i gave this before meeting
VardaValar1: Song about?
mordacil: from the far over the misty mtns song
mordacil: remade by some guy in texas
VardaValar1: ahh, thanks. :-)
mordacil: warning:8 min long and long solos
VardaValar1: Texas? Must be good then
VardaValar1: More info on Web news:
VardaValar1: Images were eating up our valarguild.org server space
VardaValar1: We worked on that
VardaValar1: Arathorn converted tga screenshots to jpg and saved huge chunks of space
VardaValar1: Menelvagor put his images on GeoCities
Menelvagor Valar: new link up on site, however, having a little problem with the large images, attempting to correct now
VardaValar1: Some of us are trying out Imagezilla
VardaValar1: I'm having a little trouble with a large photo on Imagezilla
VardaValar1: also has very long names
VardaValar1: But still working on it
VardaValar1: Thanks Menel
Menelvagor Valar: Just found out what it is
VardaValar1: Any other suggested server spaces are welcome news if you have any
Menelvagor Valar: Yahoo makes use of a data transfer limit, so direct linking to them can eat away that data transfer limit thing quite rapidly
VardaValar1: aye
FarmerMaggotV: If I could only get my server going :-(
VardaValar1: We would use it too, Farmer :-)
Menelvagor Valar: I may check out Imagezilla later this week and see if it is worth it :-)
VardaValar1: Free ;-)
VardaValar1: Eonwe has Web news. Go ahead, Eonwe!
MaglorV has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
VardaValar1: Aiya Maglor :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: The MEO (Middle-Earth Online) Forum has been updated and reoganized a bit.
MaglorV: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: They have removed a few of the boards, added a new one or two, and added in a couple of new features.
Eonwe Valar: One of these features is the ability to add in an avatar after a certain amount of time and energy invested in the forum, as determined by post count and date since signing up.
Menelvagor Valar: I figure that doesn't include spam posts?
Eonwe Valar: If they're deemed as spam, I assume they will be deleted.
FladrifV: namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie
VardaValar1: Namarie
Eonwe Valar: The mods there are for the most part on the ball.
FladrifV has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Except on weekends, hehe.
VardaValar1: They get weekends! Lucky ;-)
Eonwe Valar: I assume they do, because sometimes stuff that needs to be removed (when that happens, which hasn't been a smuch recently) isn't until Monday.
Menelvagor Valar: sorry, but what does the expression "on the ball" mean?
FarmerMaggotV: on top of things, taking care of business
Eonwe Valar: "on the ball" means they're doing their job.
VardaValar1: From a sporting term
Menelvagor Valar: ok :-)
Menelvagor Valar: soccer is my guess :-)
Eonwe Valar: imagine standing on top of a rolling ball and not falling off :}
Eonwe Valar: or that :}
Menelvagor Valar: or perhaps from the circus :-)
ArPharazonV: heh.... " translates in sigmachat as "
top

Gaming:
VardaValar1: Concerning MeO:
Menelvagor Valar: try to type lol in there :-)
VardaValar1: on the rp, do you guys want me to get us going on to Erebor now?
VardaValar1: Aye or nay is good enough :-)
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): hmm... not sure... there's a lot to be done first before we can get on our way
FarmerMaggotV: yah, it's a known problem that some characters (the ones that need to be ecoded in HTML) aren't transferred right (sorry to intrude)
Menelvagor Valar: I wouldn't mind either way
VardaValar1: I can condense. Very good at it when needed ;-)
Eonwe Valar: I was expecting a bit of a debriefing of Calion, but we could skip that and get going.
ArPharazonV: in that case... want me to summarize the 'report' from Calaron?
VardaValar1: Had also expected the group late for the feast to walk in
Menelvagor Valar: it seems the least of what needs to be done is me having a little chat with the king :-)
VardaValar1: Seeing everyone do the dwarf dance before Erebor might shift some attitudes
ArPharazonV: I was thinking that they may had discovered what this 'evil power' was that threatened us in the woods
VardaValar1: We can just say he had the chat and we are off, and he is brooding over it
ArPharazonV: dragons came to mind, but they wouldn't be near as silent and shadowy
VardaValar1: Tolkien already explained the darkness moving across Mirkwood ;-)
ArPharazonV: also from the North?
ArPharazonV: what we encountered?
VardaValar1: Ok, we can discuss that elsewhere only concerns a few of us, sadly
ArPharazonV: it's part of the report, or so I planned...
VardaValar1: We could take on new folk in the rp right now if any would like to jump in at this point
ArPharazonV: but that report can be skipped for now, so we can look at it retrospectively (sp?)
VardaValar1: So you want to do the next post, Phar?
VardaValar1: Sp good
ArPharazonV: we would have to decide what that post would be about, actually...
ArPharazonV: we gonna meet in the atrium? me, Calaron, the King, and you guys?
VardaValar1: ok - will have to do that later
ArPharazonV: aye, ok
ArPharazonV: not today, though... gonna have to go to bed soon
Menelvagor Valar: are we going to skip on the judgment on Estarion by Thranduil as well?
VardaValar1: Unless anyone else besides current rp'ers interested? Speak up?
VardaValar1: Can show results
ArPharazonV: should we gather together somewhere in the following week? here, or in sigmachat?
ArPharazonV: or wait until the next meeting until we can decide what to do next?
VardaValar1: I saw no postings and was going to just run it along. Figured you guys got bored
ArPharazonV: lol, I actually had no idea what to say...
Menelvagor Valar: actually was waiting on Arathorn
VardaValar1: We were supposed to have a couple of the guys who just came up enter the feast
ArPharazonV: or the atrium
VardaValar1: He already has us dancing, needs reactions
VardaValar1: They were supposed to come eat, then go to the atrium
ArPharazonV: which would be me and Calaron, accompanied by the king and Auros
Menelvagor Valar: well, I have no idea what dance :-)
Eonwe Valar: and a few other nobles of Mirkwood.
ArPharazonV: aye, including my parents
VardaValar1: Question, whoever is actually following this conversation, please type Present
VardaValar1: Present
ArPharazonV: Present
Menelvagor Valar: Present
FarmerMaggotV: present
ArPharazonV: not Eonwe?
Menelvagor Valar: seems Eonwe isn't :-P
VardaValar1: 14 of 128 have 4 present
HeruRasa: present
VardaValar1: 5 :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiyata :-)
MaglorV: present... kinda
VardaValar1: 6
VardaValar1: I figure most gaming :-)
ArPharazonV: or reading Tolkien ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Present :}
VardaValar1: Would any of you like to get into the rp on the Forum?
VardaValar1: 7
Eonwe Valar: just following more than one conversation :}
VardaValar1: that's half of us
Menelvagor Valar: or having their keyboards imprinted on their foreheads :-P
ArPharazonV: I was thinking of including Calaron...
VardaValar1: Calion
ArPharazonV: but he has another, very important job to do
Orodreth V: I've considrered the rp, but I might look into it again..
ArPharazonV: has a key role in the defense of Mirkwood
VardaValar1: Now is the time to jump in.
VardaValar1: Takes only the ability to surf
Menelvagor Valar: Orodreth... you don't actually need to read all of the story
VardaValar1: But it would not hurt ;-)
Orodreth V: Yes I do.
Menelvagor Valar: I myself didn't read anything at the point I jumped in
ArPharazonV: even a small thought came to mind about Calaron replacing his elder brother in the company... as you may remember, I was thinking about having Calion corrupted by the Gulhuine or the Evil Power at one point
VardaValar1: We noticed
VardaValar1: Jot down your thoughts and surprise us :-)
FarmerMaggotV: I think I'm gonna go AFK for a bit (nap, something, somewhere, who knows..... I need a break)
Menelvagor Valar: well... I think it adds to the credibility of a character who jumps in at a certain point and does not know what happened prior to that moment
Orodreth V: I have this thing aabout knowing everything about a rp. >.>
VardaValar1: Namarie, Farmer, and thanks
Eonwe Valar: Fainan got appointed second-in-command of the escort, so to speak, so she has to choose the Silvan members of the party :}
ArPharazonV: I was thinking of having Calion isolated or something during the journey, and being captured, tormented, and brainwashed by the Evil Power
VardaValar1: I did and sent them to the Atrium when they finish at the dance
VardaValar1: Sounds like standard fare, Phar :-)
ArPharazonV: and after he besieged the rest of the group, Calaron could come up, scare off or wound Calion, and take his place on the Quest
VardaValar1: Or Calion could just decide to stay since we are not keen on his wolf pet being with us
Eonwe Valar: Aye, don't think Auros has forgotten about the wolf :}
ArPharazonV: so far, his wolf pet remains in the care of Pharion, Calion's father
ArPharazonV: can't readily recall the name of my elf-mother...
Eonwe Valar: and Calion's father is in THranduil's halls, not watching the wolf? for shame.. :}
ArPharazonV: Helvy needed rest more than medical aid
VardaValar1: *wolf slips off to find rabbits*
Menelvagor Valar: I think I will bring up a nice nifty surprise after we exit Mirkwood :-)
ArPharazonV: he was best left in the village, and would have been not much more than a burden in the halls
VardaValar1: He can add to the defense
ArPharazonV: I may bring him further on the Quest, but I may leave him behind
ArPharazonV: still pretty injured, but healing
Menelvagor Valar: very nifty surprise :-D
Eonwe Valar: He needs to be guarded either way.
ArPharazonV: he could indeed aid Calaron in the defense of Mirkwood :-)
VardaValar1: Thranduil will be sending a party to guard the smaller party, and a large war party to clear the road and send a message about the problems to Elrond
ArPharazonV: like a watch-dog ;-)
VardaValar1: We can continue to Erebor, past Lorien to the Dimrill stair as they did in the books
VardaValar1: Could add dwarves and Lorien elves along the way if any want that :-)
VardaValar1: Or we can go with the war party back to Elrond. Thranduil will give that choice
VardaValar1: We already know this road is toast for the Fellowship
ArPharazonV: yeah, I think I'll leave Calaron and Helvy behind together in the defense of Mirkwood... will be a large burden off my back
Menelvagor Valar: or we could end up in the fighting over Erebor and Dale :-)
VardaValar1: So we might want to check out how bad it is
Orodreth V: OT: Just found a WoS world that uses graphics ripped from WC3: TFT.
Orodreth V: And WC3.
VardaValar1: ah the joy, Oro
ArPharazonV: might be interesting to play 2 stories at once, both as Helvy and as Calaron
VardaValar1: That would be quite a while distant from our current time frame
ArPharazonV: and also as Calion
VardaValar1: You might want to write a text story and send to the Encyc Stories section :-)
VardaValar1: More stories! yay!
Eonwe Valar: Auros is still Erebor bound. He has friends (also scouts sent from Rivendell) he hopes to meet with.
VardaValar1: This rp talk is something of an after-meeting guys
ArPharazonV: aye, but I have to be leaving soon, so perhaps won't be around if we do get to Tolkien-topic
VardaValar1: You know which way those scouts are coming from? Don't have to tell us
Menelvagor Valar: I think I will have a friend of Estarion's join as soon as we exit Mirkwood :-)
mordacil: gotta go
VardaValar1: Bye, Aerandir
mordacil: namarie
ArPharazonV: I think Calion is bound to go with our small party, but Calaron will stay behind.. yes, that would be the best thing to do
mordacil has left the room.
VardaValar1: why not in Mirkwood?
VardaValar1: unless he's a dwarf...
ArPharazonV: could write a war-story of Mirkwood side by side with our Quest... would be quite interesting ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: because of some developments, both in his story, as well as in this chat :-)
VardaValar1: One thing I tend to forget is the big first dwarf elf friendship is Gimli and Legolas
VardaValar1: We are making it seem rather normal
Menelvagor Valar: I won't give specific details, as it is to remain a surprise :-)
ArPharazonV: well, actually
VardaValar1: Thranduil started a friendship with dwarves
Menelvagor Valar: not talking about a dwarf :-)
Eonwe Valar: For Noldor it is somewhat normal. You guys are taking a Dwarf pretty well for Silvans :}
VardaValar1: Maybe Elwing's bird ; )
ArPharazonV: there have been bonds of friendship in the North since the Bo5A between Elves and Dwarves
ArPharazonV: not as close as Lego and Gimli, but still no emnity
VardaValar1: Thranduil got together with the dwarves at the Battle of Five Armies
Menelvagor Valar: enmity :-P
ArPharazonV: lol
ArPharazonV: you're quite right
ArPharazonV: enmity
Menelvagor Valar: a future english teacher needs to know his business :-)
VardaValar1: So are we going to have the guys walk into the feast and see the dance we are doing with the dwarf?
ArPharazonV: it's enemy, not emeny...
VardaValar1: Get a bite to eat, go to the atrium?
VardaValar1: Or just say we are now on the road to Erebor?
Menelvagor Valar: oh yes, something that could go under member news:
ArPharazonV: well, I'd like the atrium-bit still, but it's up to you
VardaValar1: Just looked as if we had zero posts going is why I almost did it
ArPharazonV: could give us a chance to put in place our plans, and not have to make them all up as we go along
ArPharazonV: aye, I see... but this chat here cleared up a lot, I'll be ready to post this week
Menelvagor Valar: a month or so back, I've received my official admittance to college and getting my English Teacher's degree
VardaValar1: Are your guys going to do what they said they were and come to feast?
VardaValar1: Congrats, Menelvagor!
Menelvagor Valar: thanks :-)
Menelvagor Valar: will most likely be starting next september
ArPharazonV: aye, I'll have Calaron, Calion, and their parents, grab a bite while walking through the feast to the atrium
ArPharazonV: should be accompanied by Auros and Thranduil at least
VardaValar1: They don't know about atrium yet
ArPharazonV: Congrats, Menel
ArPharazonV: aye, allright
VardaValar1: or do they, Will check back
Menelvagor Valar: when that happens, I will have very little time left for the Guild as I will probably immersed in studying
VardaValar1: Eonwe is already like that
ArPharazonV: we could walk towards you, and ask for a small meeting, and you could say the atrium would be the right place for that
VardaValar1: I need to get back to work myself : )
Eonwe Valar: Aye, my biggest Guild function is the weekly meeting :} Second biggest is the time I spend on WoW :}
VardaValar1: Sounds like a plan
Menelvagor Valar: well.... saying that because I've never really studied before, even in high-school, and I am intent on making this a success
Eonwe Valar: (Rest of time goes to school work etc :})
VardaValar1: What time do you come on WoW, Eonwe? CST ;-)
ArPharazonV: hmm... considering the time I spend for the Guild isn't that much (just meetings, forum, and the occasional common chat/game) for now, I don't think any college will truly get in the way
VardaValar1: Laytonrim nearly always have someone on
Menelvagor Valar: EST -1 and GMT -7 for those interested
FarmerMaggotV: heh, my biggest contribution so far is the bridge.... but it, as with everything else I do, only gets worked on when it catches my interest
Eonwe Valar: I try to be on Friday either late after noon or evening, and some time on Sunday if I can.
VardaValar1: you were working on a search for the Encyc for a while
VardaValar1: Thanks, Eonwe
FarmerMaggotV: yeah, I was wasn't I..... I had forgotten about that
VardaValar1: Eonwe, you had something about the guild charter? [Note: refers to World of WarCraft Valar Guild's official mission statement.
Eonwe Valar: Aye\
Eonwe Valar: The week is up, and I'll be revising the charter with the comments that were sent in. The Final draft will be ready in a couple of days, and hopefully up on the WoW Guild page shortly after that.
VardaValar1: Maglor, are you there? [Note: Maglor is the Valar Guild WoW page handler]
Eonwe Valar: For those who asked on the board and may not have had the chance to read my response,..
Eonwe Valar: Anywhere you se "see here" or such, that's where a link will be in the draft. The links just didn't copy from Word to the Forum.
Menelvagor Valar: Perhaps I can answer that one.... (not your last one Eonwe)
Menelvagor Valar: I've emailed Arathorn and Maglor in the past week
Menelvagor Valar: and altho Arathorn hasn't responded yet, Maglor and I have decided that he will be handling the flash part of the page (or layout) and Arathorn and I will handle the rest
Menelvagor Valar: how exactly that will be decided I will have to wait on
VardaValar1: Arathorn already has a WoW screenshot page up. Just need to link to it and it can show in the frame
Menelvagor Valar: aye
Menelvagor Valar: I'll need access to the page to handle the text part
Menelvagor Valar: but Maglor and I can handle that between us :-)
Menelvagor Valar: Eonwe, can you send me the links you intended through PM?
Eonwe Valar: I can just send you the final copy when it's ready :}
Menelvagor Valar: fine by me
Menelvagor Valar: forum or email will do both
Eonwe Valar: the links are already in my Word copy.
Menelvagor Valar: than email would be best I think
ArPharazonV: well, I gotta go, sorry I can't make the Tolkien-topic
VardaValar1: I think we will all need to leave
ArPharazonV: :-(
VardaValar1: The rp was something of a Tolkien topic
ArPharazonV: yeah, ok
ArPharazonV: still not sure what explanation he gave for the Shadow north of Mirkwood, though
VardaValar1: Give it a shot next meeting :-)
ArPharazonV: :-)
Menelvagor Valar: I have your topics jotted down Phar, so you won't forget them :-)
VardaValar1: Shadow came from Dol Guldur
Eonwe Valar: Probably the Shadow from Dul Guldur as it enveloped the Kingdom of Thranduil.
Menelvagor Valar: and from the North probably from the goblins at Mt. Gundabad
ArPharazonV: also from the North? hmm... what would that make our nameless Enemy?
VardaValar1: We were adding in an extra one from mountains north of Dol Guldur, but south of the Path
VardaValar1: That way we could choose to make a story line where we attack it
ArPharazonV: Nazgul were accounted for, I guess
Eonwe Valar: we don't know what the nameless enemy is, or it wouldn';t be nameless :}
ArPharazonV: lol
VardaValar1: If we are not attacking it, we can leave it at Dol Guldur
Menelvagor Valar: not always Eonwe
ArPharazonV: as I said, I was thinking about a dragon of some sort, but that wouldn't do...
Eonwe Valar: What we do know is that we're trying to avoid running into it right now :}
Menelvagor Valar: in a lot of stories everyone perfectly knows what the Nameless enemy is
Menelvagor Valar: they just refuse to speak his name :-)
ArPharazonV: Sauron :-)
ArPharazonV: Gorthaur
VardaValar1: Since we are not attacking it, it can remain the Tolkien style
ArPharazonV: Annatar
Eonwe Valar: That would be the "unnamed" Enemy then :}
Eonwe Valar: "The One whom we do not name" :}
ArPharazonV: aye, but it is going to attack Mirkwood, perhaps... so I think we might have more dealings with it before our rp is over
VardaValar1: If you speak the name, it draws the being's attention, according to folklore
ArPharazonV: at least Calaron and Helvy will, if they remain behind
VardaValar1: It has attacked Mirkwood
VardaValar1: Thranduil moved north twice already
ArPharazonV: is it not true that if you know the name, you gain power over him?
VardaValar1: Always attacking
VardaValar1: Not true, but is also folklore, diff one there
ArPharazonV: that's what we discussed in a 'god-discussion' in the war3 forum...
VardaValar1: They conflict a bit there ;-)
ArPharazonV: why God was just known as God
VardaValar1: There are many bits of Folklore
VardaValar1: and Jehovah and Yahweh etc?
VardaValar1: YHWH also
VardaValar1: but that is off topic :-)
Eonwe Valar: The first two coming from how you wish to pronounce the third.
ArPharazonV: it seems Yahweh and Allah were also words meaning, or derived from, God, diety, being, etc
VardaValar1: Let's let Eonwe get in some rare WoW time ;-)
ArPharazonV: :-)
VardaValar1: Religion is a good way to get in an argument that convinces no side, just makes people upset
VardaValar1: Same for politics
VardaValar1: But we can talk Tolkien and all have common ground
HeruRasa: being called to dinner, see some of you later on WoW, namarie all
VardaValar1: Namarie
ArPharazonV: ah, here's the quote from the forum...
ArPharazonV: Allah is likely a contraction of al-aliah, which I understand is the generic Arabic word for God. The Judeo-Christian God is frequently refered to as YHWH in the Bible, which is often tranlated as Lord.
HeruRasa has left the room.
ArPharazonV: It is possible that it orginally derived from a conjurgation of the Hebrew verb hawah, in its third person imperfect singular form.
ArPharazonV: As such, it would mean "He Who Is", which was no doubt mistranslated at some point in the Bible's history as "I Am".Gogo pointless facts!
VardaValar1: That is not our Forum
ArPharazonV: no, but the war3 forum
ArPharazonV: ArPharazonV: that's what we discussed in a 'god-discussion' in the war3 forum...
VardaValar1: Thanks for clearing that up for transcript readers
VardaValar1: And of course they know all and can say what is a mis-translation
VardaValar1: I would have to do some research to comment
VardaValar1: Eowyn is the member of the family along with Merry currently on
VardaValar1: Harana and Imrahil also on
ArPharazonV: they probably read it somewhere, in a book of on a website... as I raised the question, actually, what Yahweh and Allah meant in their languages, I don't really doubt that it's true
Eonwe Valar: Not to spur on the discussion, but where it says "Lord" is not a translation.
Menelvagor Valar: is Harana responding?
Menelvagor Valar: I need Arathorn in here :-)
VardaValar1: yes he's been talking in the guild channel in WoW
VardaValar1: Go there :-)
VardaValar1: Meeting is over
Eonwe Valar: It's put ther einstead of "YHWH" because the Israelites in normal use did not speak the name of God: hence how we no longer know it's true pronunciation.
VardaValar1: Besides, the letters are really numbers too
ArPharazonV: aye.. but anyway, where we left off...
Eonwe Valar: As I recall, the High Priest only knew how to pronounce it, and he passed it to the next high priest before hi death.
Menelvagor Valar: I don't have WoW remember :'(
Eonwe Valar: *his
VardaValar1: And you are doing a WoW page? ouch
Menelvagor Valar: now that is an interesting typo :-)
Eonwe Valar: So in the centuries where Israel was conquered, the pronunciation was lost.
Menelvagor Valar: the high-priest and his high-death :-P
Menelvagor Valar: I don't have it yet
Menelvagor Valar: European release is next friday
VardaValar1: We can pass it on - what do you want to tell him?
VardaValar1: Can also email
VardaValar1: oh really! cool
VardaValar1: We are getting to Gaming news late ; )
Menelvagor Valar: I need him to check and respond his email :-)
Eonwe Valar: The scribes translating the Bible simply followed the same belif system, that the name of God shouldn't be spoken (or perhaps read as well, don't quite recall specifics on that detail) so they put in Lord
ArPharazonV: but as I said, I do have to go, will be saving transcript now
VardaValar1: Summary will help
VardaValar1: Harana now offline in WoW, said goodbye
ArPharazonV: I'll be reading the rest on the web next week, if my pc will let me ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Hence you get "I am your Lord the LORD" and such.
Eonwe Valar: Ok, done teaching history :}
ArPharazonV: saved transcript
VardaValar1: Thanks
ArPharazonV: praise the Lord
ArPharazonV: praise him with great prais
ArPharazonV: wait... wrong quote
VardaValar1: Namarie guys
FarmerMaggotV: Namrie!
ArPharazonV: Namarie... hold on, until I've sent you the mail, so you can check
Menelvagor Valar: time for me to go to bed as well
Menelvagor Valar: Namarie everyone
Menelvagor Valar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: sending it now...
VardaValar1: ok
MaglorV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: still waiting...
FarmerMaggotV: transcript is, as usual, at http://sirg3.homeip.net/~joe/log.txt
VardaValar1: Also ok to keep up the chat room just for fun use
VardaValar1: Thanks, Farmer
Eonwe Valar: afk for a sec
ArPharazonV: ok, that log just wiped out my mail-window, don't know if it was sent
VardaValar1: Have some playtime, too, Eonwe : )
VardaValar1: Not in yet
ArPharazonV: I'll resend
VardaValar1: there
VardaValar1: Got it
FarmerMaggotV: I'll get around to making some way to tell the dates on transcripts, but all in due time ;-)
ArPharazonV: ah, ok
ArPharazonV: yes, my 'sent'-folder has it included now
ArPharazonV: good
VardaValar1: Good night :-)
ArPharazonV: Good night!
ArPharazonV: don't forget the gaming-news!
VardaValar1: 6:56pm EST here
VardaValar1: You have more?
ArPharazonV: btw, the Dutch official WoW-site is now in operation
ArPharazonV: lemme find a quick link
Eonwe Valar: back
VardaValar1: Menel cancelled DAoC
VardaValar1: cool
VardaValar1: Aiyata
ArPharazonV: http://www.intowarcraft.nl/
ArPharazonV: is in Dutch, though :-)
ArPharazonV: and not yet finished... not even close... but it's getting there
VardaValar1: Fine. We have Dutch members
VardaValar1: And those who can read Dutch or something close
ArPharazonV: looking at the still crossed-out links, they'll provide maps, monster-databases, items, story, professions, even a dictionary...
VardaValar1: Those who can't read English won't be able to game with us very well, however : )
ArPharazonV: they seem to have a full forum as well, but haven't tried that yet
ArPharazonV: not really into Dutch forums, except one for Morrowind ;-)
FarmerMaggotV: well, I'm gonna be out of the chat -> back to doing stuff I suppose
VardaValar1: I need to be "doing stuff" too : )
ArPharazonV: I think Dutch language in videogames is quite laughable...
ArPharazonV: in fact, any fantasy-story is very weird in Dutch
FallenGlory: You people should be doing stuff like watching the Superbowl! Some of you are marring my opinion of American Superbowl sundays!
ArPharazonV: too bad I'm not American ;'
ArPharazonV: ;-)
FallenGlory: You don't want to ruin the Canadian perception of the United States, do you?
FallenGlory: lol
FallenGlory: oh, well, that explains it
VardaValar1: I never cared about SuperBowl. I'm a girl ; )
FarmerMaggotV: namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie
FallenGlory: It's fun for the entire family Varda
FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
FallenGlory: teaches the importance of teamwork and cooperation
VardaValar1: uh huh
FallenGlory: and healthy competition
VardaValar1: Rather do that in WoW ;-)
FallenGlory: =-O
FallenGlory: Good stuff
FallenGlory: because I bought WoW!
VardaValar1: I like to play games. Watching is rather dull
ArPharazonV: lol
ArPharazonV: watching snooker is usually pretty nice
ArPharazonV: or pool
FallenGlory: ah, well, I like playing football as well as watching it
GwaihirValar: I am incredibly against professional sports
VardaValar1: You do know that we are in Lothar server?
FallenGlory: no I don't
GwaihirValar: I think professional sports is the second biggest disgrace of our current civilization
FallenGlory: well
VardaValar1: What are you for, Gwaihir?
FallenGlory: I do know
FallenGlory: now
GwaihirValar: literacy
GwaihirValar: :-)
FallenGlory: LoL
GwaihirValar: and a lot else
VardaValar1: Olwe, we have been trying to tell everyone everywhere we know how
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): goodbye, leaving sigmachat now
GwaihirValar: but... I *REALLY* don't care for professional sports.... really disturbs me... especially given the payrates...
VardaValar1: Come join our guild on Lothar when you get a chance
FallenGlory: lol, and who should I speak to about that?
VardaValar1: Type /who valar
VardaValar1: tells who in the guild is no
VardaValar1: on
VardaValar1: We have several on now who can help
VardaValar1: We also can do /join Valar
Xseanzee disco has entered the room.
Xseanzee disco has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Professional sports are fine, I prefer to play than watch, but if the players weren't getting all that money, the owners would get it, and that's just not fair.
VardaValar1: for guild friends, alts who are trying to locate someone
VardaValar1: Eonwe here is the branch leader : )
VardaValar1: Talk to him
VardaValar1: I help out is all ; )
FallenGlory: Hehehe
VardaValar1: I'm overall guild
VardaValar1: In other words, contact person, receptionist, secretary
ArPharazonV: :-)
FallenGlory: lol
VardaValar1: web person
ArPharazonV: our communication specialist, that's what you are
VardaValar1: heh
VardaValar1: Uhura, that's me
ArPharazonV: and we appreciate it...
ArPharazonV: wait, Uhura...
Eonwe Valar: Hmm, Varda needs an earpice then.
VardaValar1: Olwe, try to grab your name on Lothar while it's open if it is
Eonwe Valar: *earpiece
VardaValar1: I had one while working for Compaq : )
Eonwe Valar: :}
ArPharazonV: Uhura.... ah, found it, Startrek
VardaValar1: Fancy black headset
VardaValar1: You had to look it up? ; )
FallenGlory: hmmm, there's no naming rules on WoW that prohibit using names from copyright works or something?
VardaValar1: They say there are
VardaValar1: I have Varda though
FallenGlory: lol
ArPharazonV: aye, original series not my specialty... big fan of Next Generation and Voyager, though
VardaValar1: Ton of Tolkien names on
FallenGlory: so as long as Blizzard just doesnt care to enforce their policy, its alright :-)
VardaValar1: If you can get yours, why not? : )
VardaValar1: We also
VardaValar1: have a way around
VardaValar1: My main is Faina
VardaValar1: ack
VardaValar1: Fainan
VardaValar1: Means "I emit light"
Eonwe Valar: There is, so if you do end up with a name change, just try to come up with one related to your guild name.
FallenGlory: ah
ArPharazonV: is Gilthoniel Varda as well?
VardaValar1: Cover yourself
Eonwe Valar: Aye, like Fainan being related to Varda.
VardaValar1: Yes, but I do not have it in WoW
VardaValar1: Half the Sil index is Varda ;-)
VardaValar1: Varda is a string of titles, hardly a name
ArPharazonV: I didn't see it in the Silm, actually
VardaValar1: Is an old joke
Eonwe Valar: It would help if we had a guy to help do the digging for these names, someone who would dig through the various books to find roots and try to match them into a cohesive name.. A Name guy as it were...
VardaValar1: look on our Names page for a few more
ArPharazonV: I saw Varda, Elentari, Elbereth, but not Gilthoniel
VardaValar1: Irmo did it, now I inherited it
VardaValar1: Fanuilos
VardaValar1: Tinwetari
VardaValar1: Tintalle
VardaValar1: Ton more
ArPharazonV: and all I have is Tar-Calion :-)
VardaValar1: I had the Names page first anyway
VardaValar1: And you can drop the first part
VardaValar1: Drop the Ar or Tar
ArPharazonV: Pharazon and Calion... sure, where do you think I took my rp-name from?
VardaValar1: I could use helpers on filling in the Names
VardaValar1: I know
VardaValar1: But answering your comment for thers who read it
ArPharazonV: but Ar-Pharazon literally means Golden King, or King of Gold
VardaValar1: and can be translated
ArPharazonV: if I called myself Pharazon, I would just name myself Golden one
VardaValar1: Go with it into Sindarin or Quenya
ArPharazonV: Pharaz = Gold
ArPharazonV: according to Appendix E
VardaValar1: I need people who want to dig through the books for name versions
VardaValar1: After that, translations are good, but label as translations
VardaValar1: These go in Encyc too
ArPharazonV: I wonder if I could call my steed in WoW Alcarondas....
VardaValar1: I have too many pages already, could use help
VardaValar1: Have another thing in Encyc box to handle right now, more getting ready to hit
ArPharazonV: or just Quesselome, for my NE character
ArPharazonV: but I gotta go
ArPharazonV: Namarie
VardaValar1: Namarie
