Before-meeting:
(Varda's transcript):
You have just entered room "ValarGuildMeetingplace."
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya
Orodreth V: Aiya.
VardaValar1: Is that all one word?
ArPharazonV: how are you?
VardaValar1: for the meeting room?
Menelvagor Valar: I will run a little late on being available, currently in a part in Gnomeregan
Menelvagor Valar: party*
ArPharazonV: heh
Menelvagor Valar: near end boss, shouldn't take long
VardaValar1: Shouldn't it be Valar Guild Meetingplace?
Menelvagor Valar: darn
Menelvagor Valar: whoops :-)
VardaValar1: Let's re-do it so we can be found
ArPharazonV: how odd
ArPharazonV: I came here through the link I set to the normal chatroom
Menelvagor Valar: well, I am pretty sure I put the spaces in there when I invited
Orodreth V: Gonna try out sigmachat.
VardaValar1: Not present in my view
ArPharazonV: I came here through the short-cut in my startmenu
ArPharazonV: like always
ArPharazonV: and that does have spaces
Musics4Me2: Orodreth (SigmaChat): IIRC, spaces don't matter.
Musics4Me2: Orodreth (SigmaChat): course, that could have changed.
GwaihirValar: well... lemme check...
Musics4Me2: Orodreth (SigmaChat): And I could use Sigmachat, but I don't like it.
GwaihirValar has left the room.
Musics4Me2: Orodreth (SigmaChat): too white.
ArPharazonV: doesn't matter for me, that's for sure
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): :-)
GwaihirValar has entered the room.
GwaihirValar: nope, spaces don't matter
Musics4Me2: Orodreth (SigmaChat): So, back to my blue-on-black 7pt text.
VardaValar1: good to hear
Orodreth V: Ahh.
Orodreth V: Much better.
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): :-)
ArPharazonV: so, waiting for you guys in the rp :-)
Orodreth V: I'm gonna order my comp today.
Orodreth V: Honest.
Orodreth V: I keep forgetting.
ArPharazonV: :-)
Orodreth V: >.>
VardaValar1: I wrote in my part, Phar
ArPharazonV: nice
FladrifV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya
Orodreth V: Oh, Varda.
suilenroc01 has entered the room.
Shaggyjoe has entered the room.
Orodreth V: I think I'm gonna give up writing a continuation of The Life of Ondollo.
aranfinwe has entered the room.
Shaggyjoe: is it sunday already?
suilenroc01: aiya
FarmerMaggotV has entered the room.
aranfinwe: Aiyas
ArPharazonV: Aiya all
LouieKisKowsKi has entered the room.
Orodreth V: I'll just finish my revisions, give it to you, and call it done.
VardaValar1: Aiya
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Aiya! /bows
FarmerMaggotV: Aiya, I'm a bit busy unfort doing work..... I'll be around
LouieKisKowsKi: Hello
LouieKisKowsKi: i am sorry ia m so crapp, but I hate my life in undays and rarely get off the couch
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Hmm. Thanks for sharing! :-)
Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
Orodreth V: Alatar: I could use Sigma chat, but I prefer my blue - on - black 7pt font of Aim.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Eonwe Valar: There we go :}
ArPharazonV: well, read your post, Varda
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Orodreth, I could use AIM but I prefer noto to have gaping conduits for spyware on my PC. ;-)
Shaggyjoe: alatar can you send me an invite into the java chat again?
VardaValar1: for later Phar
ArPharazonV: seems Estarion has been completely skipped ;-)
ArPharazonV: ok
VardaValar1: Phar, not intended. He is part of group and I was writing fast :-)
LouieKisKowsKi: ok if go get chinese food and come back am I like still allowed in the club?
VardaValar1: Also plan to put in more on captain names
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): For those wanting the Java chat room, the link is: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
Eonwe Valar: Captain names?
ArPharazonV: so.. you're planning on editing your post significantly later?
VardaValar1: somewhat anyway
ArPharazonV: or do I not understand you?
Eonwe Valar: As long as you don't click "resign" while you're gone, Elros :}
ArPharazonV: ok
Orodreth V: Alatar: I use Trillian, not AIM.
VardaValar1: I have a bad connection and may crash at any moment :-)
Eonwe Valar: I'll pick up from ther eif you do Varda :}
ArPharazonV: my pc crashed again this afternoon, so I might disappear any moment as well...
ArPharazonV: but I probably won't be back then
VardaValar1: Thanks
Orodreth V: Alatar: And I have a pretty black background, with grey border, and it's pretty, and I have a tiny font size that's nice for me, and it's pretty and I like it. :-P
VardaValar1: We have a bridge so everyone may use the platform of his choice
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Orodreth - I have Trillian Pro 3 as well. I just choose not to support AIM. But I am pleased that YOU are pleased. :-)
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): Welcome to sigmachat, Varda :-)
LouieKisKowsKi: trillin rules but t was too complicatefd for me
LouieKisKowsKi: what is sigma chat?
ArPharazonV: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
ArPharazonV: alternative chatroom
ArPharazonV: bridged to this one
VardaValar1: Elros, click the link and enter your guild name to try it
VardaValar1: Pretty nice spot :-)
LouieKisKowsKi: so there are like 3 ways to do this
VardaValar1: More
VardaValar1: We can come in from Battlenet
VardaValar1: See the News for more details
Musics4Me2: elros (SigmaChat): did it work?
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): sure did
VardaValar1: Hi Elros :-)
Musics4Me2: elros (SigmaChat): Ok on my other window it calls me music4me
Musics4Me2: Gelmir (SigmaChat): tis nice
ArPharazonV: and we are called 'bridge', right?
VardaValar1: No
Xseanzee disco has entered the room.
Musics4Me2: elros (SigmaChat): (aim)
Orodreth V: Well, if the guild moved to sigma chat, I wouldn't mind, per se. I just prefer Trillian to it.
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): FYI, folks - whatever you say in the Java chat room *is* echoed to all the others. Just a reminder. :-)
VardaValar1: The bridge is the program that goes between all the platforms
LouieKisKowsKi: I prefer the aim
VardaValar1: We hear it all. Please use pm's
VardaValar1: You may pick your preference and let's go on with the meeting
Musics4Me2: Gelmir (SigmaChat): I hear that Sauron guy is a nut job...
Musics4Me2: Gelmir (SigmaChat): whoops
Xseanzee disco: lol
LouieKisKowsKi: ok I am getting food, I am not a policy advider anyways
Musics4Me2: ArPharazonV (SigmaChat): how about both? ;-)
VardaValar1: You can go and come back
VardaValar1: Everyone does :-)
Musics4Me2: Gelmir (SigmaChat): hehe
ArPharazonV: you can't escape.... muhahahaha
VardaValar1: Half the lot is afk in ten seconds after arriving then scrolls
Orodreth V: I'm finishing up my story, so IM me if you wanna talk, I won't be looking at the chat.
VardaValar1: Like that ;-)

VardaValar1: meeting
VardaValar1: Any other member news?

VardaValar1: Web News:
VardaValar1: Meeting notes for the last two meetings are caught up in summary and transcripts. Sorry for the delay
VardaValar1: Humor Page:
VardaValar1: Two new Tough Guide to Fantasy jokes :-)
ArPharazonV: oh, gotta see that...
VardaValar1: Humor page links should be repaired, please check
VardaValar1: They worked in IE but had some problems in Netscape
Menelvagor Valar: more than 2 actually :-)
VardaValar1: How many, Menel?
VardaValar1: I look forward to checking out however many :-)
Menelvagor Valar: 7 in total :-)
VardaValar1: GeoCities had a problem with handling images due to the transfer limit
VardaValar1: Nice!
VardaValar1: so the Humor page pics went on Imagezilla
Menelvagor Valar: aye
VardaValar1: Any other Web News?
Menelvagor Valar: aye
VardaValar1: Menel, go ahead
Menelvagor Valar: fixed a link on the bottom of the humor text page to the old humor image page
Menelvagor Valar: now has the correct link
Menelvagor Valar: I have also updated the members roster on the WoW page, for as much as is known to me
VardaValar1: Thanks. Links are a bear to keep up with. Folks, please email the webmaster of the page if you find a bad one
VardaValar1: Thanks Menelvagor :-)
Menelvagor Valar: I have left out the characters on other servers
ArPharazonV: a bear?
Menelvagor Valar: so it now only shows those on Lothar
ArPharazonV: well, that's expression's new to me
Menelvagor Valar: big, bulky, lots of work to tackle
ArPharazonV: sounds usable
Menelvagor Valar: anyways
VardaValar1: I have tons of expressions to boggle minds. Hang in there
Menelvagor Valar: back to WoW members page
Menelvagor Valar: due to some unknown reason (I simply can't figure what, did everything right) there are gaps between each line. If you know what might have caused these gaps, please tell me :-)
Menelvagor Valar: ok, done with that
Menelvagor Valar: one last thing
Eonwe Valar: I'll glance at the source code and see if I can figure it out, Menelvagor.
Menelvagor Valar: As requested by Elatan, I have added a section on the MB for quests / raiding stuff
Menelvagor Valar: I am not entirely sure what to do with this, so might be temporary
Menelvagor Valar: I have protected it with the usual Guild password, as it will likely contain guild only info
Menelvagor Valar: I have given Elatan moderation of the section, as it was his idea :-)
Menelvagor Valar: and that's about it :-)
Eonwe Valar: We can stick weekly Guild Questing Reports in there, so we have one use at the very least :}
VardaValar1: Thank you for lots of work, Menelvagor :-)

VardaValar1: Gaming News:
VardaValar1: Eonwe, your floor.
Eonwe Valar: Thanks.
Eonwe Valar: First:
Eonwe Valar: New WC3 Map: Cherryville
Eonwe Valar: Second: WoW
Eonwe Valar: Blizzard has updated their "Under Development" Page to show what they hope to incldue in the next content patch.
Eonwe Valar: Among the hopefuls are:
Eonwe Valar: UI Improvments : 4 new action Bars, Chat Bubbles, a Quest Tracker, and a confimation message for looting Bind on pickup items in group loot.
Eonwe Valar: They're also planning some improvemnts for the Mage ,Druid, Warrior, and Priest.
Menelvagor Valar: the bind on pick-up confirmation message is already in place on Europe servers
Eonwe Valar: Adding a new dungeon (56-60 level)
VardaValar1: Anything on those quest crash bugs?
Eonwe Valar: and Meetings Stones. Hopefully we can get to a point wher ewe won't need these :}
Eonwe Valar: All the say are "Numerous Bug Fixes"
VardaValar1: hehe
VardaValar1: "Meetings Stones"?
Eonwe Valar: Meeting Stones : Outside of instances,.. used to find groups
GwaihirValar: You go up to them and the stone finds you a group
GwaihirValar: it first looks for the 'holy trinity' ideal...
GwaihirValar: but as time goes on it gets less picky
Eonwe Valar: Meeting Stones: Meeting Stones are located outside of each dungeon to help players find a group to adventure into the dungeon. The meeting stone will try to find you a viable group by finding a tank, a healer, and so on.
Eonwe Valar: As time goes on and you are unable to find a group, the meeting stone will become less picky about who it chooses to group you with.
Eonwe Valar: Direct Quote from the page
VardaValar1: and a puller! ;-)
HeruRasa has entered the room.
HeruRasa: heyas
Menelvagor Valar: mages are excellent pullers!
Eonwe Valar: That does it for my news.
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: So are hunters
Eonwe Valar: Ah, one more thing:
VardaValar1: Thank you, Eonwe :-)
Menelvagor Valar: pull by morphing any excess creeps! :-)
Eonwe Valar: They're still working on the PvP Honor System, which will hopefully cut down on lvl 60s wiping out lvl 20s (not that we have to deal with this :}) and the Battlegrounds system. For the latter they're talking about setting up
HeruRasa: pulling using polymorph can end up aggroing more than you would have using a spell
Eonwe Valar: an external test realm to see how it goes in a "live environment"
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): I am not sure it qualifies as "News," Varda, but I would like to say that Friday's guild questing time was enjoyable.
Eonwe Valar: Now I really am done.
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): I was only able to stay for about three hours of it, but I really had a good time.
Menelvagor Valar: not if you know which one to morph, and especially with multiple mages morphing at same time Ulmo :-)
VardaValar1: Eonwe, will you be reporting on the Friday run?
HeruRasa: morphed mobs wander and aggro more
VardaValar1: It is Gaming News, Alatar
VardaValar1: Eonwe's floor
Eonwe Valar: I was going to write up a report for it on the Forum :}
Eonwe Valar: At least for the group I was part of :}
VardaValar1: Elatan has already started one, btw. Needs more
Eonwe Valar: But to remind everyone, we are meeting Fridays at 5pm VST
Eonwe Valar: That's Every Friday :}
GwaihirValar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: I said 4 pm VST in the message, then talked about it with those on yesterday, and decided to match it with the meeting time.
GwaihirValar has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: so 5pm VSt on Fridays.
GwaihirValar: Eo, I think you meant 4...
GwaihirValar: 4 PM*
GwaihirValar: February 25, 2005 World of WarCraft: Guild group/raid questing every Friday 4pm EST (VST).
ArPharazonV: Eonwe Valar: I said 4 pm VST in the message, then talked about it with those on yesterday, and decided to match it with the meeting time.
Eonwe Valar: Read about Gwaihir :}
Eonwe Valar: about = above :}
GwaihirValar: I got disced
VardaValar1: He changed it Gwaihir. People there said they wanted it later
GwaihirValar: so I missed that message :-)
Eonwe Valar: ok :}
ArPharazonV: just that one message, though
ArPharazonV: nothing more
VardaValar1: Np, we repeat easily enough
GwaihirValar: yes
VardaValar1: But if some of us want to show up earlier, np ;-)
GwaihirValar: I missed that one message, I don't know if I missed anything else... but... I did miss that one Phara
Eonwe Valar: So this week it was 4pm, next week it will be 5 PM VST.
Eonwe Valar: For those who don't know, VST = Valar Standard Time, which is East Coast US time.
ArPharazonV: no, nothing more was said in your absence, Gwai
GwaihirValar: I was sorta half-disced for a while... so I could see what was being said, but couldn't say anything myself
ArPharazonV: ah
GwaihirValar: and then I got completely disced... and then I rejoined
Eonwe Valar: I'll be posting on the Forum a reminder of how the Weekly gatherings will go. Would anyone like me to restate here real quick?
VardaValar1: Please do
Eonwe Valar: ok.
VardaValar1: (Whisper Tolkien topics to me meanwhile)
Eonwe Valar: We meet in the Cathedral of the Light in Stormwind.
Eonwe Valar: From there we decide what the lowest areas we have.
Eonwe Valar: If we have more than one group full, we can do different areas, i.e. one group in Azeroth and Lordaeron, another on Kalimdor, or we can all go together as separate groups until we run into an instance.
Eonwe Valar: or even one group in Deadmines and one in Darkshire, if necessary.
GwaihirValar: I won't be there this week... I work 5-10 Friday...
Eonwe Valar: By helping members take out the lower areas, they'll be able to join us in the higher areas, which is why we take care of the lower ones first.
VardaValar1: We keep going at playing until we all collapse of keyboard face, np.
VardaValar1: some of us don't start until 10pm
HeruRasa: 10 pm isn't 10 pm for all either :-)
Eonwe Valar: Discussion of wher ewe go need not wait until we get together. We can talk about it on the Forum as well.
Eonwe Valar: Same with the quests.
VardaValar1: In Menelvagor's new section :-)
ArPharazonV: hmm... I've heard a lot about Deadmines... where is it, anyway?
VardaValar1: Any suggestions to make now guys?
Eonwe Valar: After we all meet and break into groups, the group rolls to see who's going to be the group leader. This guy/gal is responsible for helping keep track of what's going on, make sure everyone's on the same page, \
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Pardon the interruption - Power failure here. On batteries at the moment.
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): If I make a sudden departure.
Musics4Me2: Alatar (SigmaChat): Apologies in advance :-)
Eonwe Valar: and writing up a report on the group's doings.
VardaValar1: Sounds like my house, Alatar ; )
Eonwe Valar: A person who was leader the week before doesn't roll until everyone in whatever group they're in has already been a group leader.
VardaValar1: Eonwe, we didn't really have a leader last Friday. And who was in the group kept shifting
Eonwe Valar: So everyone gets a chance.
GwaihirValar: afk, dinnertime...
VardaValar1: Is anyone interested in doing Gryphon Runs this evening?
Eonwe Valar: Friday was kind of different, but one of main ideas is to have someone who is resonsible forsending in a report.
Eonwe Valar: *responsible.
VardaValar1: Maybe a string report. And Eowyn hopes you get to finish that quest we tried to do with you. Need more help on that?
Eonwe Valar: The purpose of the report is to share with the Guild how/what we did that week, maybe learn from mistakes we make or strategies we pick up.
Eonwe Valar: If I am able to get on tonight, help would be welcome, aye.
VardaValar1: Forgot to mention in Web News
Menelvagor Valar: what quest? :-)
Eonwe Valar: Aye about a "String report." If the leader has to go, another can pick up from there.
VardaValar1: Converter to jpg is available on the News so you can convert screenshots to something manageable
VardaValar1: Terms invented as we go ;-)
Eonwe Valar: aye
VardaValar1: Wetlands quest, ear of Bargelas, guy with a voidwalker who keeps shifting places
VardaValar1: Our group would take out the voidwalker and an unrelated group would get him, unfortunately
Eonwe Valar: The actual work a leader has to do will of course vary from situation to situation. All one may really have to worry about is writing up a report if all else goes well.
Menelvagor Valar: haven't had him shift places yet, but the guy brings 4 or 5 other mobs with him when pulled
Menelvagor Valar: and they respawn fast
VardaValar1: Get him at the tents, more manageable
Menelvagor Valar: easiest way to make sure you get the kill for him is to damage him, so he is bound to your group
VardaValar1: We have a tendency to do things as a group, one person saying their bit where they are most knowledgeable, then another
VardaValar1: I was gone by then, did hit him when I was present
Eonwe Valar: Any questions or comments? Otherwise I believe I really am done. Varda has already mentioned we can do a gryphon run if there is anyone who still needs the places we went last Sunday.
Menelvagor Valar: for example, I was in a group and we needed to kill some guy for a quest, but another group was present
VardaValar1: Or new places since picked up
Menelvagor Valar: so I put a fireblast on him to make sure he was tied to our group
Eonwe Valar: Blizzard calls it "tapping" on their pages.
Menelvagor Valar: aye
VardaValar1: Anyone interested in Gryphon Running or group questing tonight?
VardaValar1: I was more than tapping ;-)
VardaValar1: I went for him
Menelvagor Valar: well, the trick is to get the "tap" before the other group does
VardaValar1: Aye
Menelvagor Valar: which can be tricky
VardaValar1: Bow is quick ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: true
Menelvagor Valar: but insta fireblast is quicker :-)
HeruRasa: so is a wand
ArPharazonV: oh, darn, the sound has left my pc again... I could leave now and restart the pc, but that's such a bother with transcripts....
Orodreth V: I got a transcript.
FarmerMaggotV: I've got a running transcript
VardaValar1: We have people who don't play WoW and find our WoW talk boring, folks, so let's not go into it too much in the meeting
Menelvagor Valar: and I will have a transcript
VardaValar1: Be sure to send me transcripts. I will look at them!
ArPharazonV: yeah, but still... whatever I miss, I have to wait for until the transcript's online, and then read the missing part.... pretty annoying
Orodreth V: I can send it to ya.
ArPharazonV: btw, I might be getting WoW unexpectedly soon
Orodreth V: As Varda noted, this WoW talk is booooorrrrring.
VardaValar1: thanks
HeruRasa: woot Phar
Orodreth V: ;-)
VardaValar1: Tolkien topics please?
ArPharazonV: it seems Menel here found a few stores where there are still some copies available
VardaValar1: No one sent one yet
Orodreth V: I actually have one..
VardaValar1: Good luck, Phar
ArPharazonV: thnx
ArPharazonV: I hope it works out :-)
VardaValar1: You guys need to pm those Tolkien topics to me so we can do them in some sort of order :-)
ArPharazonV: otherwise I'll have to wait for April, or worse, for June/July...

Tolkien Chat:
VardaValar1: If no one else has one, what is yours Orodreth?
Orodreth V: what started the watchful peace is my first one.
Orodreth V: I've found the end.
VardaValar1: Which end?
ArPharazonV: wasn't the end when the Nine took Minas Ithil?
Orodreth V: Of the watchful peace.
Orodreth V: it's III 2460ish.
ArPharazonV: ah, around where Gollum found the Ring....
ArPharazonV: brb, getting rotk for appendix b
Orodreth V: Osgiliath falls, the Misty Mountians become dangerous..
Orodreth V: But I know all that.
Orodreth V: I want to know how/why is started.
Orodreth V: I don't have LotR anymore, and I can't find it on the Encyclopedia of Arda.
VardaValar1: Watchful Peace started when Sauron fled Gandalf and things were temporarily quiet
Orodreth V: Or ours.
VardaValar1: TA 2063
VardaValar1: If no one sends in an article, we don't have it : )
Menelvagor Valar: just a fun question, has anyone ever seen a mage running around bearing a sword and mining to heart's desire?
VardaValar1: So do some writing, guys ;-)
ArPharazonV: ah, yes, 2063...
ArPharazonV: which means the Nine took Minas Ithil even before the Watchful Peace began :-D
VardaValar1: Sauron left Dol Guldur and hid in the East, returning after gaining power
ArPharazonV: hmm... not a lot happening in the Watchful Peace
VardaValar1: TA 2002 I think
VardaValar1: It was peaceful ;-)
VardaValar1: Sauron was busy rebuilding rather than attacking so much
ArPharazonV: Thorin I goes to the Grey Mountains, Isumbras becomes first Took-Thain, Oldbucks go to Buckland...
ArPharazonV: and that's ti
ArPharazonV: *it
ArPharazonV: a lot more happened in the Siege of Angband :-)
VardaValar1: Minas Ithil provided the palantir for Sauron in Barad dur so that he had the Eye
VardaValar1: Barad-dur
ArPharazonV: btw, I watched the Fellowship on tv this afternoon... we got a dvd-player this week :-)
ArPharazonV: first time my dad saw it as well
VardaValar1: You could say the Peace was from when Sauron fled the Tower to when he returned
VardaValar1: Congrats
VardaValar1: What did he think of it? And had he read the books first?
ArPharazonV: no, he hadn't read the books first, I'm the only one in my family who has done that
VardaValar1: How did he like the movie?
ArPharazonV: he's not that good in English, although he could follow the movie (which I had running with English subtitles ;-))
ArPharazonV: we didn't get into it much, but I think he liked it
ArPharazonV: in Lothlorien, he asked me if Gandalf was coming back :-)
ArPharazonV: I said yes, he'll be back in the second movie
VardaValar1: spoiler ;-)
ArPharazonV: at Amon Hen he asked me if Boromir would be back
VardaValar1: ouch
VardaValar1: Flashbacks count?
ArPharazonV: unfortunately, I had to give a negative answer to that... didn't think of the flashbacks
LouieKisKowsKi has left the room.
VardaValar1: Anyone have anything to add to the Watchful Peace?
VardaValar1: Or another topic?
GwaihirValar: back
VardaValar1: Aiyata
GwaihirValar: thank you kindly :-)
ArPharazonV: he had missed almost the entire first dvd, coming to watch only at the Council of Elrond... though he had watched the beginning of the film until Bree at an earlier date
VardaValar1: If no, we are now in After-meeting :-)
FINARFIN010 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya Finarfin
FINARFIN010: Aiya all :-)
VardaValar1: Welcome to the After-meeting :-)
FINARFIN010: thank you
ArPharazonV: so he had missed Frodo going invisible, the attack on Weathertop, the meeting with Strider... oh well, he picked up pretty quickly :-)
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Orodreth V: Danke all...that really helps me.
ArPharazonV: lol, sorry there isn't much to tell about the Watchful Peace
VardaValar1: What else did you want to know? You asked when it began
VardaValar1: Phar, maybe your dad will understand you better now ;-)
ArPharazonV: perhaps :-)
VardaValar1: Finarfin, do you play regular or ladder D2X?
ArPharazonV: I've got a friend who has Lotr in Dutch, perhaps he'll want to borrow it sometime
FINARFIN010: ladder
ArPharazonV: the book that is
Musics4Me2: Gelmir (SigmaChat): sorry guys, im in DAoC big keep siege on my eldricth semi afk
VardaValar1: cool
Menelvagor Valar: which server Gelmir?
VardaValar1: We have other DAoC lovers here
Menelvagor Valar: not exactly, but never too bad about not getting into a keep siege :-)
Menelvagor Valar: and for me it's the question if my DaoC account has been shut down yet
VardaValar1: Which server, Gelmir?
Menelvagor Valar: I think it's on the old Guild server
VardaValar1: The Watchful Peace could be an item for the Event Page
VardaValar1: Anyone want to do the article for that?
Arwen V1 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Articles don't have to be long
VardaValar1: Arwen!
FINARFIN010: Aiya Arwen
Menelvagor Valar: I still need to start on LotR, so I think I'll pass on that :-)
VardaValar1: Is that really you?
Menelvagor Valar: Aiya Arwen
Arwen V1: Aiya
VardaValar1: Does not have to be this second, Menel
VardaValar1: How's the tooth?
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Orodreth V: Varda: You want timestamps on transcript or no?
Arwen V1: still hurting but about to get attacked by antibiotics and painrelievers =D
Menelvagor Valar: afraid that by the time I have finished LotR I will have totally forgotten about the watchful peace
Orodreth V: They're not VST.
VardaValar1: Only if EST, Orodreth
Menelvagor Valar: then you will get them from me, as usual :-)
ArPharazonV: actually, Menel, by the time you finish lotr, the appendices should be the freshest in your mind :-)
VardaValar1: May that attack be completely successful
Menelvagor Valar: that could be a problem
Menelvagor Valar: I've never "really" bothered with the appendices
VardaValar1: Now is good
VardaValar1: Lot of stuff in there if only to scan
ArPharazonV: hmm.... I loved A and B, and their lore
VardaValar1: Tons of info
VardaValar1: Story of Arwen and Aragorn
Menelvagor Valar: and the other problem is...
VardaValar1: Tells what happened after the War of the Ring
Menelvagor Valar: my copy doesn't have the appendices
Orodreth V: Scandelous!
VardaValar1: I heard that in Europe the appendices are sold separately
ArPharazonV: and after reading HoME part 12, and the linguistical appendices to a few books, I started to get interested in the other appendices as well...
VardaValar1: Very wrong, but maybe you can find them
Menelvagor Valar: I had a copy with the appendices once
VardaValar1: Grab a US copy if you can. They have it
Menelvagor Valar: but will need to catch up on the person who I loaned it to
ArPharazonV: so in my last re-read, I read them all in detail, pretty cool, though you don't remember most of it for a long time :-)
Menelvagor Valar: oh, I did have an english version
VardaValar1: Some sticks in the mind quite strongly
Menelvagor Valar: including appendices
Menelvagor Valar: but I also loaned that one out
Menelvagor Valar: big mistake
Orodreth V has left the room.
ArPharazonV: I bought a British version, from Harper-Collins I believe... which had the appendices
VardaValar1: You might keep one copy of your own and have a loaner spare
Menelvagor Valar: lost track of my friend shortly after, we never got to return the things we loaned from each other
VardaValar1: If it's not the spare, it does not go out :-)
sauronjag has left the room.
Menelvagor Valar: it's a good thing, but it is a problem if your finances don't really allow for more than one copy
Orodreth V has entered the room.
FINARFIN010: well i need to be going to eat. Namarie all.
HeruRasa: namarie
ArPharazonV: hahaha.... I won 300 euros on vacation, with the bingo-evenings... I was able to buy 18 Tolkien-books with that
VardaValar1: Sounds good!
Menelvagor Valar: then again, buying extra's because you lost the loaned one, proves just as disastrous to the wallet as buying 1 spare :-)
VardaValar1: Will you be on bnet later?
ArPharazonV: namarie
FINARFIN010: yes
VardaValar1: Nice, Phar ; )
FINARFIN010: yes
FINARFIN010 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: lotr, hobbit, silm, UT, and the complete HoME-series...
Menelvagor Valar: my home is going to get torn down in about 2 years! 8-)
ArPharazonV: really? what did you do to it?
Menelvagor Valar: nothing
Menelvagor Valar: just old flats
ArPharazonV: ouchy
ArPharazonV: you moving to the States?
Menelvagor Valar: but getting a "sod off" cash thingy :-)
VardaValar1: ouch
Menelvagor Valar: not at all!
VardaValar1: Congrats, Phar!
ArPharazonV: Thanks!
Menelvagor Valar: I can use it to finance my study!
Orodreth V: Random question: anyone know offhand if light brown was a common haircolor for the noldor?
VardaValar1: Noldor had very dark hair
VardaValar1: Black or very dark brown
ArPharazonV: I think raven-black was the common color
VardaValar1: except
VardaValar1: the house of Finarfin
Orodreth V: thought so
Orodreth V: hah
ArPharazonV: right
VardaValar1: Black was usual
VardaValar1: grey eyes
ArPharazonV: Finarfin and sons had Golden hair
ArPharazonV: from the Vanyar
ArPharazonV: sons and daughter, actually
VardaValar1: aye, through Indis
Orodreth V: *walks off to gloat to friend*
ArPharazonV: heheh
VardaValar1: gloat pleasantly : )
VardaValar1: Don't want him tuning you out
ArPharazonV: hmm... so all the other houses descended from Finwe were all dark-haired?
VardaValar1: Yes
ArPharazonV: also Idril, Aredhel, etc?
VardaValar1: And Faramir had raven-black hair, despite the movies
aranfinwe: well, it IS rather appropriate....
aranfinwe: I do have dark hair
VardaValar1: See Line of Kings : )
VardaValar1: hehe - that settles it
ArPharazonV: I've got dark hair as well, but I don't think that's right with the books :-)
GwaihirValar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: not Pharazon the Golden for nothing
VardaValar1: Golden mainly referred to his wealth
ArPharazonV: any idea what Pharazon looked like?
ArPharazonV: I've never found a single piece of Pharazon-art, except some abstract Egyptian-like thing
VardaValar1: Look it up in the Sil for the only realistic info
VardaValar1: Artwork has little to go on, sadly
Orodreth V: Anyone seen Arathorn lately?
VardaValar1: He's been on WoW almost constantly
FarmerMaggotV: I haven't seen him in a while unfort
Orodreth V: ..figures
VardaValar1: I saw him there this morning before the disconnects ate my characters
Orodreth V: you know his e-mail?
VardaValar1: Ulmo was playing with him
VardaValar1: Sure
VardaValar1: It's on the pages like all of them
ArPharazonV: mayhaps he's become so obsessed with the game, he hardly pays any attention to the rest of the Guild :-)
Orodreth V: oh? I thought he had changed.
Orodreth V: *goes and looks*
HeruRasa: he is loged on in WoW now
HeruRasa: logged
VardaValar1: arathorn_v(AT)sympatico.ca
VardaValar1: Right, Phar
Orodreth V: ooo
VardaValar1: He had a problem with if for a while, but then it was ok again
Orodreth V: sounds like me when I got wc3
Orodreth V: >.>
Orodreth V: oh great
VardaValar1: He lives in WoW now
ArPharazonV: really? I've hit the mark? But that was my joke-explanation!
Orodreth V: gmail's down again
Orodreth V: *thumb-twiddle*
VardaValar1: No joke
ArPharazonV: my gmail's fine
VardaValar1: You hit in the gold
FarmerMaggotV: I'm checking now
ArPharazonV: though it was offline for some time earlier today
FarmerMaggotV: me too Phar, there was like 15 minutes I couldn't check
Orodreth V: was
ArPharazonV: I only check it like once a day, and it was offline right then :-)
FarmerMaggotV: fine here
Orodreth V: I check it every time I open a new window.
Orodreth V: It's my homepage.
ArPharazonV: :-)
Orodreth V: Obsessed? Naw.
FarmerMaggotV: I've only checked it about 10 times today
ArPharazonV: I've checked it twice today, the second time a few minutes ago because Oro sent me something
ArPharazonV: and it's open right now
ArPharazonV: normally, just once a day
ArPharazonV: or more, if I'm really bored
VardaValar1: Estarion, what did you want to have done with your rp character?
Orodreth V: I should find all of my material regarding ondollo and put it in one file...
VardaValar1: Yes you should : )
VardaValar1: Your life will be much easier
GwaihirValar has entered the room.
Orodreth V: I've used him in a few rpgs.
Orodreth V: like one that's starting up soon
Orodreth V: and I've tried to keep them all consistant.
ArPharazonV: really? where?
ArPharazonV: I miss our little rp from about a year ago...
Orodreth V: this tiny tolkien rpg group on yahoo.
Arwen V1: Namarie peoples, I'm off to bed!
Orodreth V: There's like, 5 people.
ArPharazonV: though it didn't last longer than 5 pages, ours
VardaValar1: Rest well, Arwen
VardaValar1: Get better!
HeruRasa: g'night
ArPharazonV: still think I've got the site in my favorites
Arwen V1: =) thanks
Orodreth V: And it's been abortivly "starting" for about a year and a half, off and on.
ArPharazonV: Namarie, Arwen
Arwen V1 has left the room.
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: Stupid horribly run BF.
ArPharazonV: http://www.blizzforums.com/showthread.ph p?s=2e9f450688f444c4bb32481c7212a6a e&t=30403&page=5&pp=15 remember this one? ;-)
VardaValar1: BF?
Orodreth V: I might start another one like it on WB so as to not interfere with the one at the Valar forums..
Orodreth V: yea
Orodreth V: remind me to strangle redcloak someday, mmkay?
ArPharazonV: redcloak?
ArPharazonV: the only redcloak I know is the one from the OotS comic...
Orodreth V: runs blizzforums
VardaValar1: You could consider joining our rp too you know
ArPharazonV: aye
ArPharazonV: we could use a few more companions
VardaValar1: Ours has been running quite a while and has a jump-in opportunity now for elves and soon for dwarves
ArPharazonV: hmm... I believe Elatan had a small part in it as well, in chapter 1?
VardaValar1: nice sized part, yes
VardaValar1: So did Elwing for a while
ArPharazonV: aye
ArPharazonV: still looking forward to seeing them again :-)
FarmerMaggotV: Namarie (computer grinding to a halt, this chat program leaks memory like a siv)
VardaValar1: eep
ArPharazonV: the eagle and the sorceress
ArPharazonV: Namarie
VardaValar1: Good luck, Farmer!
FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: will the bridge stay on?
Orodreth V: Yea..
Orodreth V: I just don't like the stly of rp you guys are using.
Orodreth V: style*
VardaValar1: ok, then don't join. That was easy : )
ArPharazonV: why not? not enough preparation?
Orodreth V: Call me close-minded, but I'm used to a different way of rping.
VardaValar1: Yours does not last any time beyond the group getting together, so I'm not concerned
ArPharazonV: not at all, each is own preference
ArPharazonV: *his
ArPharazonV: was just wondering what you didn't like about it
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: I'm a horrible administrator. :-P
Orodreth V: And I'm a grammar/spelling nazi.
Orodreth V: I actually can't remember what killed that rpg.
ArPharazonV: I've seen several rp's that require a full sign-up list before you could start...
ArPharazonV: last one I entered was more work making the sign-up than actually playing the rp, that's how short it was
ArPharazonV: but if you're wondering what killed our first rp
Orodreth V: yea
Orodreth V: takes the right people to run them
VardaValar1: Ours is about to go into Part Four: Erebor
aranfinwe: namarie all, time for me to leave work and head home for dinner and bed
VardaValar1: Need players who will play
Orodreth V: and preople interested in it
VardaValar1: Namarie Finwe!
Orodreth V: Namarie.
suilenroc01: namarie everyone
ArPharazonV: Namarie
suilenroc01 has left the room.
aranfinwe has left the room.
ArPharazonV: After this, he looked around to see what the Gondorian was doing.
ArPharazonV: Ring any bells?
ArPharazonV: that Gondorian, I researched some time after, never posted again after we lost him
ArPharazonV: so it wasn't us that drove him off, it was the forums itself... not sure what happened
ArPharazonV: but the result was that our rp died
ArPharazonV: a shame, really
ArPharazonV: had so many plans for it :-)
Orodreth V: yea
Orodreth V: I'm not counting that in my history of ondollo..
ArPharazonV: :-)
ArPharazonV: btw, how's that WoS-thing going?
ArPharazonV: Elvondel, or something?
ArPharazonV: *checks message board* wow, can't believe I got the name right
ArPharazonV: you still working on that? 'cause it's been over a year since anything was posted in it
Orodreth V: no
Orodreth V: I don't have the skills to do it myself.
ArPharazonV: ah
Orodreth V: And Arathorn is all WoWy.
ArPharazonV: :-)
ArPharazonV: WoW is the new WoS
Orodreth V: Actually, that's what I IMed him about.
ArPharazonV: WoS?
Orodreth V: Unless he or you have objections, I'm going to put a zip of the world on a remote server and delete all copies of it from my hd.
Orodreth V: It's actually already on filecloud.
ArPharazonV: how big is it?
Xseanzee disco has left the room.
ArPharazonV: aaaanyway, gotta go soon
ArPharazonV: gotta get up again in eight hours, and it's time I got in my rhythm again
VardaValar1: Namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie, will save and send transcript first
VardaValar1: So no comments on Estarion? [Note Forum Tolkien rp]
ArPharazonV: I don't know what Menel wants done with him
Eonwe Valar: I say we throw the Dark Elf in the Dungeon :}
HeruRasa: g'night
Eonwe Valar: Put Helvy in there with him :}
ArPharazonV: g'night
VardaValar1: Good night
Eonwe Valar: sleep well :}
VardaValar1: We might, Eonwe :-)
ArPharazonV: Helvy? you ain't getting him from Pharion's home any time soon :-)
Eonwe Valar: Too late :}
ArPharazonV: he's still wounded, and needs his rest
ArPharazonV: will remain in Mirkwood, and be a companion to Calaron in the defense
VardaValar1: So what do you want done with Estarion?
Eonwe Valar: I used my special Noldo powers to teleport in, stela the wolf, and teleport back :}
Eonwe Valar: *steal
ArPharazonV: or at least he'll be guarding the villagers from any stray Orcs...
VardaValar1: Aye, Helvy will stay in Mirkwood as defense
VardaValar1: What about Estarion?
ArPharazonV: not sure
ArPharazonV: throwing him in a dungeon wouldn't be fair to Menel :-)
Orodreth V: umm
ArPharazonV: unless he escaped in a barrel...
Orodreth V: not big
Orodreth V: 444kb
Orodreth V: You need to reg at firecloud to get it off them.
ArPharazonV: don't you have one copy still on hard-disk?
ArPharazonV: my gmail account is always open for you :-)
Orodreth V: mmm
Orodreth V: I might
Orodreth V: yea
Orodreth V: want it?
ArPharazonV: yeah, sure
ArPharazonV: just for safekeeping :-)
ArPharazonV: at the very least
Orodreth V: feel free to do whatever with it
ArPharazonV: thnx
ArPharazonV: perhaps I'll develop some skills in the coming years
ArPharazonV: but AIM isn't working well
ArPharazonV: could you mail it again?
ArPharazonV: or dost thou have MSN/
ArPharazonV: ?
Orodreth V: mailing now
VardaValar1: How about Sigma Chat?
Orodreth V: I do have msn though
ArPharazonV: just mail it
Orodreth V: does that do file transfers?
ArPharazonV: easy
ArPharazonV: yeah, it does
Orodreth V: oh, interesting
ArPharazonV: Sigma Chat, not sure
Orodreth V: didn't notice that
ArPharazonV: don't think so
ArPharazonV: I'll get on MSN now
Orodreth V: Oh. I knew msn didn't.
Orodreth V: Er.
Orodreth V: did
Orodreth V: bleh
ArPharazonV: oh, ok
ArPharazonV: just mail it, the easy way :-)
ArPharazonV: ok, thnx
Orodreth V: ignore my lastt, like 7 lines.
Orodreth V: >.>
ArPharazonV: I've received it
ArPharazonV: thnx
ArPharazonV: wow, been a while since I played WoS... last time I couldn't even get through Aerianell
ArPharazonV: okidoki, saving transcript now
ArPharazonV: saved
VardaValar1: thanks
Orodreth V: I got timestamps, so.
FladrifV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: okidoki, sent
ArPharazonV: Namarie, then
VardaValar1: Thank you
Orodreth V: namarie
ArPharazonV: aim is a little lagging...
ArPharazonV: oh well
Orodreth V: I'm out, will be on aim/msn
Orodreth V: might be on bnet later
ArPharazonV: Have fun :-)
VardaValar1: Playing what?
Orodreth V: wc3
Orodreth V: not tft
ArPharazonV: you ever play any Helm's Deep-maps? or is that just TFT?
Orodreth V: depends on if a friend gets on
Orodreth V: didn't like them on sc, like 'em less on wc3
ArPharazonV: I'm really taking a liking towards Lotr-maps on TFT... Ringwars, BoME, Helm's Deep, Battle of Gondor, WotJ...
ArPharazonV: and of course Lotr hero siege :-)
mordacil has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: some purists may take offence in those lotr-maps... but I just enjoy anything with Lotr in them, inaccurate though they may be :-)
VardaValar1: Aiya Aerandir :-)
mordacil: aiya
ArPharazonV: Aiya
