VardaValar1: Ulmo's Linqil reached the top at 60
VardaValar1: Eonwe's report is posted for our WoW Friday gaming

VardaValar1: Eonwe got his level 40 and his paladin horse!
VardaValar1: Any further gaming news?
VardaValar1: Someone does play something besides WoW? Gelmir, what do you play?

VardaValar1: Could you tell us how that group is doing? We have heard no news from them in a while
Shaggyjoe: great I suppose.
Shaggyjoe: I mean we (as a realm) dont have any relics..uhm.. very active.
VardaValar1: Are other Valar guild folk in there besides the two of you?
Shaggyjoe: not that I know of.
Shaggyjoe: unfortunealy.
Shaggyjoe: Joey is on a diff server.
VardaValar1: Orome came over to WoW from DAoC
Shaggyjoe: err Sauron.
Shaggyjoe: yeah
VardaValar1: Sauron is on WoW
VardaValar1: and is not named Joey : )
Menelvagor Valar: Lungorthin, Gelmir :-)
Shaggyjoe: yeah
Shaggyjoe: that
Shaggyjoe: : P
VardaValar1: Lungorthin did not care for rp, I think
Shaggyjoe: I havnt seen Alatar in a good minute.
VardaValar1: Alatar has been on WoW
Shaggyjoe: ahh..
Shaggyjoe: damn you all. lol
Shaggyjoe: <3
VardaValar1: Orome is trying to bring Melkor there too, but Melkor has been gone on a trip quite a while
Menelvagor Valar: and CoH presumably
VardaValar1: Come to the WoW side, Gelmir.... ;-)
Shaggyjoe: I might as well give it a shot..
Menelvagor Valar: City of Heroes fyi
Shaggyjoe: wait! no!
VardaValar1: Yes, come, come to WoW... And keep DAoC too! heheh
Eonwe Valar: Come to the WoW side, Gelmir. It is your destiny.
Menelvagor Valar: it's great blasting your way through Un'Goro crater with a mage :-)
VardaValar1: hehe - Poor Gelmir. Please play where you are happy : )
VardaValar1: We could use your DAoC reports in the meetings : )
Shaggyjoe: Ill try to stay up on it.
Menelvagor Valar: I used to do that when I still played DaoC :-)
VardaValar1: Valar joined the Stormwolves? How did that work out?
VardaValar1: Aye, we need a replacement for Menelvagor : ) Used to be Turgon
Menelvagor Valar: pretty much gave up on Valar in DaoC when they joined Stormwolves tho
VardaValar1: We heard they dropped Tolkien and just became a regular nice guild
VardaValar1: No special anything to set it apart?
Menelvagor Valar: not that I know of, for the short while I still resided on Percival, Hibernia
VardaValar1: Okies
Shaggyjoe: WoV did sorta.. drop tolkien.
Shaggyjoe: we are just a brotherhood (or sisterhood) of nice people.
Shaggyjoe: I have a character still in.
VardaValar1: It's good to hear it is still operating. We do miss Irmo.
VardaValar1: Just because you guys play DAoC doesn't keep you out of Valar anymore than playing BW or CounterStrike : )
Shaggyjoe: lol
Shaggyjoe: I know, it consumes however.
VardaValar1: You don't have to feel separated completely
VardaValar1: True, too true
VardaValar1: Any further Gaming news?
Eonwe Valar: Many of us play WoW and we're still here :}
VardaValar1: Aye, Eonwe : )
Menelvagor Valar: well.... just because I play WoW in Europe, doesn't mean I am not part of the Guild :-)
VardaValar1: Right, Menelvagor : )
Shaggyjoe: yes, but many of you do..
VardaValar1: And you can play in the US
Shaggyjoe: 2 play on perc. [Percival in DAoC]
VardaValar1: Melkor dropped from the group? and the others in his family?
Menelvagor Valar: you're wrong there, Gelmir, there's just one of us playing on Argent Dawn, Europe [WoW Europe]
ArPharazonV: so far :-)
VardaValar1: ArPharazon needs to come to Lothar!
Eonwe Valar: Everyone needs to come to Lothar :}
VardaValar1: The how is above, but I can repeat if you like
VardaValar1: Right Eonwe ;-)
sauronjag: sorry guys.. joey is me (sauronjag) :-) lungorthin is my guild name. aka raukoluin. I play on a different server in daoc cause of the population or lack thereof on percival servers!! I play on the two biggest ones now in different gu
Menelvagor Valar: Phar will be getting WoW by wednesday approx
VardaValar1: Hiya Lungorthin : )
sauronjag: different guilds in different realms on the two servers
sauronjag: heya hehe
VardaValar1: That should keep you busy!
sauronjag: play lancelot midgard and merlin albion
VardaValar1: Good to know
sauronjag: aye, would love to go back to perc hib but not enough people :-(
Menelvagor Valar: reserved a pack for Phar and will pick it up tomorrow and send it over right away
VardaValar1: You guys remember that you don't have to play WoW Europe
VardaValar1: But it would be great if you can get together over there
Shaggyjoe: since the cluster Percival is now one of the largest Joe
VardaValar1: Are you considering WoW, Lungorthin?
Menelvagor Valar: as long as we can't play on US servers, we are restricted to Europe unfortunetely
VardaValar1: Repeating, Europe can play in US
VardaValar1: Use an international credit card with a US CD
ArPharazonV: I don't think I'll use cc's
sauronjag: I would play that or guild wars if I wasn't playing daoc.. but as far as clustering goes gel, it only clusters the frontiers darkness falls and other high levels dungeons. leveling chars is still very tough because the population
VardaValar1: Then at least you know how to find each other : )
sauronjag: growth is almost nonexistant
ArPharazonV: guild wars is nice too, was thinking about buying that as well
ArPharazonV: I played the open events, was pretty fun
sauronjag: supposedly it has more of a pvp attitude
VardaValar1: We do have a pvp thing on WoW in our "normal" server
VardaValar1: It is considered honorable to defend your town
VardaValar1: There are always raids going on
VardaValar1: Battlegrounds is coming up
ArPharazonV: btw, just because I get WoW, doesn't mean I'll be playing it for the first few days... kinda focused on finishing the BfME campaigns :-)
VardaValar1: np Phar. It's not a job : )
Menelvagor Valar: really?
VardaValar1: Just for some of us ; )
Menelvagor Valar: I must be in error then :-P
VardaValar1: No pay, so it is not a job
VardaValar1: Any further business?
VardaValar1: Suggestions? Comments?
VardaValar1: Back pats?
VardaValar1: ok then : )
sauronjag: I'd like to pat everyone on the back for being at these meetings every sunday!
VardaValar1: Tolkien Chat
Menelvagor Valar: hmmm... yes, should have stuck to DaoC, where I could have sold my stuff for RL cash :-)
sauronjag: I have a hard time coming :-(
VardaValar1: Well said, Lungorthin!
VardaValar1: We all do
Menelvagor Valar: err.... did I miss web news?
VardaValar1: It was way back there
VardaValar1: Do you have some we can add now?
Menelvagor Valar: I see
Menelvagor Valar: well, was busy doing some changes on my WoW page :-)
VardaValar1: Are you still unable to contact Maglor to work with him?
Menelvagor Valar: aye
Menelvagor Valar: I did get some things from him I can work with though
VardaValar1: Could you give the URL?
Menelvagor Valar: although I must admit, I am mostly winging it
Menelvagor Valar: http://valarguild.org/menelvagor/wow/wowframe.html
Menelvagor Valar: I know there are still 2 links buttonless, but those I could not get from Maglor and I am fiddling with PaintShop to get them..
patente666gosse has entered the room.
GilraenV: if you want I can make you up a quick basic set of buttons, Menelvagor
VardaValar1: Aiya : )
Menelvagor Valar: if you could make me the buttons of the missing links with the same background as the others, I'd be grateful
VardaValar1: Gilraen, do you know any Flash?
VardaValar1: or anybody?
Menelvagor Valar: also, I linked the members link to Varda's WoW members page :-)
GilraenV: I don't know flash, sorry. but should be able to do the buttons
VardaValar1: Since Menel has no access to the Lothar members, it is really too much to ask
VardaValar1: Buttons would be great! Thanks
Menelvagor Valar: aye, Varda, so I figured the best I could do is link to your work for that :-)
VardaValar1: That made the most sense
VardaValar1: If anyone on Lothar would like to take over that page, let me know : )
GilraenV: the font on some of the existing ones looks a little off (it may just be my comp) ... would you like me to re-do the ones you already have?
Menelvagor Valar: if you could
Menelvagor Valar: they are off, as a matter of fact
Menelvagor Valar: just handywork of cutting and copying off a screenshot
Menelvagor Valar: http://www.geocities.com/maglorv/
Menelvagor Valar: there's the link for the original site
VardaValar1: Thanks
Menelvagor Valar: that's it for my webnews :-)
VardaValar1: That's quite a bit of news. Thanks!
VardaValar1: And thanks to Gilraen
VardaValar1: As far as I know, that is all of the business meeting
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya! You made it!
ArPharazonV: Aiya
VardaValar1: Congrats Thror : )
VardaValar1: We saw your Forum post
Chugin Chub: hello :-)
VardaValar1: Did you want to give any news before we switch to Tolkien, Thror?
VardaValar1: We have another interested in the rp [Valar Guild's Forum: Middle-earth Online rp]
VardaValar1: Fili would like to join in
VardaValar1: Fili, do you know yet if you want to play a dwarf or an elf?
patente666gosse: Dwarf
VardaValar1: We are coming into dwarf lands with an elf party, so both are available
patente666gosse: ok
VardaValar1: Good! We lost our other dwarf : )
patente666gosse: :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks Fili
VardaValar1: Any further business?
Menelvagor Valar: Varda, you forgot Humans from Lake or Dale :-)
VardaValar1: Oh, and humans :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks, Menel
VardaValar1: Now how do we squeeze in hobbits? : )
ArPharazonV: I thought Fladrif was going to play a stray ent? ;-)
Arwen V1 has left the room.
Chugin Chub has left the room.
VardaValar1: Not sure how he could pull that off
Eonwe Valar: Doesn't fit well with Tolkien.
Menelvagor Valar: can't see how it would fit in regardless
Eonwe Valar: well, at all might be better :}
VardaValar1: We can be very creative : )
patente666gosse has left the room.
Menelvagor Valar: apart from the fact that Ents have been rather neutral in the Third Age, until Isengard
ArPharazonV: heh
ArPharazonV: I also remember him asking if he could make a new species :-D
Menelvagor Valar: but well, if we need to hide, we could always hide behind Fladrif :-P
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
VardaValar1: We said no : )
VardaValar1: Aiyata Thror : )
ArPharazonV: I still wonder what he had in mind ;-)
ArPharazonV: Aiyata
Chugin Chub: i realy need a new comp
VardaValar1: Me too! ;-)
Orodreth V has entered the room.
Chugin Chub: time to make a new comp fund raiser :-P
Menelvagor Valar: me 3!
VardaValar1: Aiya Orodreth!
ArPharazonV: Aiya
Orodreth V: aiya all.
Chugin Chub: hello
VardaValar1: Orodreth, before we change the order of business, did you have any business to add?
VardaValar1: Oro, go ahead
Eonwe Valar: I'm still good for a year or two maybe, and then I'll just throw more RAM in :}
Orodreth V: I have recently come across a nice little app called Xfire.
Chugin Chub: got a question for a comp wiz . . .
Orodreth V: It is like a gaming version of AIM.
VardaValar1: Oro's floor right now
Chugin Chub: zip. . . :-P
Orodreth V: It allows you to see what games your friends are playing and for quite a few either message them in game or to join the exact server they're playing with a click.
VardaValar1: (side window) [working with chugin chub in side window and Sigma Chat]
Chugin Chub has left the room.
Orodreth V: www.xfire.com
Orodreth V: I'm Alasseo on there.
Menelvagor Valar: which games does it support?
Orodreth V: Alot?
Eonwe Valar: It's not going to get anyone in trouble with any game companies, is it?
Orodreth V: No.
VardaValar1: Why not? ; )
Orodreth V: IT dosn't do anything to the game.
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
Druidfalconwolf has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Does it get killed off by Spyware checks?
VardaValar1: Aiya : )
Orodreth V: I know it supports WoW, WC3/TFT and SC/BW.
Orodreth V: Not sure about Diablo.
Druidfalconwolf: aiya everyone
Eonwe Valar: I assume you have to actually have the game in question to be able to whisper to those on said game?
Orodreth V: No.
Menelvagor Valar: can those in the games whisper back?
VardaValar1: You need their names on the game?
Chugin Chub: plz no im for some reason it only works in the chat room. . .:'(
Orodreth V: If the game supports the in game mesaging you can use it.
Orodreth V: Here's a list of the supported games.
Orodreth V: http://www.xfire.com/xf/modules.php?name=XFire&file=games
Orodreth V: Some games allow you to whisper back.
Orodreth V: WC#/SC do.
Eonwe Valar: you'd need name and server
Eonwe Valar: at the least from my understanding.
Orodreth V: I think WoW does.
Orodreth V: Only their name on Xfire.
Orodreth V: It automates the rest.
VardaValar1: Our member page for WoW could help there
Eonwe Valar: how can it know which server?
VardaValar1: I am trying to put all the names, including alts
Orodreth V: It reads it when you join the server.
Eonwe Valar: names are only unique to the server in WoW
Orodreth V: It works like this:
VardaValar1: We are supposed to be on Lothar ;-)
Orodreth V: You install Xfire.
Menelvagor Valar: so, when you write a message to "Tom" it actually sends a message to all "Tom"'s on all of WoW's servers...?
Orodreth V: When you open a connection to say, TFT, it reads your name and the server you're joining.
Orodreth V: IT's not mesaging the actual GAME, it's messaging the other person's local copy of xfire.
Chugin Chub has left the room.
FarmerMaggotV: wait Oro, it intercepts TFT's packets?
FarmerMaggotV: (well, reads is a better word)
Orodreth V: I would assume it would have to to see what server you join.
FarmerMaggotV: seeems..... a bit messy
Eonwe Valar: ok, so everyone has to have XFire, but doesn't have to have open the game they wish to whisper people on?
Orodreth V: Correct.
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: The reading which server you're joining and such does sound like something BLizzard may not like.
Chugin Chub has left the room.
Orodreth V: Well, I've never tried it with TFT.
Orodreth V: Only Enemy Territory.
GaldorV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Aiya!
GaldorV: Aiya!
Orodreth V: It says D2 is supported, but only for messaging.
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
Orodreth V: Can't just click their name on xfire and join their server.
Eonwe Valar: Heya Galdor
Orodreth V: Same for WoW.
Chugin Chub has left the room.
GaldorV: Heyas
Orodreth V: But yea.
Orodreth V: Very useful for seeing what your friends are playing.
Eonwe Valar: Sounds iffy.
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Ok, you gve us the link
Orodreth V: www.xfire.com
Chugin Chub: if u im me
VardaValar1: We can check it out if we like
Chugin Chub: i get kicked off so plaz dont
Orodreth V: My xfire name is Alasseo.
VardaValar1: Or we can reach each other by AIM : )
VardaValar1: Thanks, Oro!
VardaValar1: Galdor has gaming news
VardaValar1: Go ahead
Chugin Chub: for some reason my im only work in chat room. . .:'(
GaldorV: I am on Lothar server in WoW now as well
VardaValar1: Good spot : )
VardaValar1: Yay Galdor1
VardaValar1: I sent you a bag or two. Saw you as a level one
Eonwe Valar: Good to hear Galdor :}
GaldorV: playing a human named GaldorV, as the name Galdor was taken
VardaValar1: Maybe you can recruit him ;-)
GaldorV: though I pla two seperate servers and split my time between the tw
VardaValar1: The V comes in very handy to preserve our names : )
VardaValar1: What is the other server?
GaldorV: Aye, it does
ArPharazonV: back, was half-afk for a while
GaldorV: Llane is the other server.
ArPharazonV: had to prepare for an excursion next week
Chugin Chub has left the room.
VardaValar1: It has your rp friends?
sauronjag has left the room.
GaldorV: GaldorV is a human rogue I think, level one. Thats it for now.
VardaValar1: Hope you get to play your Galdor character sometime : ) We'll help
VardaValar1: We don't just play Fridays while you are working
top

VardaValar1: Tolkien:
VardaValar1: Haleth had a question
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Haleth
VardaValar1: Druidfalconwolf: I was wondering if the Haladin had a specific standard/banner they used... I've been searching but can't find anything
Chugin Chub has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: I'm sure they did, even if it doesn't mention one.
ArPharazonV: hmm.... was going to direct you to PJ's documentaries on the EE, until I re-read that you said 'Haladin' and not 'Haradrim'...
VardaValar1: As the first chief of the Haladin, she might have had a hand in its making
Druidfalconwolf: sorry I was semi-AFK, eating some chocolatechip cookies :-D
VardaValar1: The Haladin are the people of Haleth
VardaValar1: sounds yummy : )
Druidfalconwolf: yup... fresh-baked
ArPharazonV: aye, sounds good... brb, getting crisps
VardaValar1: Sudden urge to cook
ArPharazonV: back
ArPharazonV: not far away :-)
Druidfalconwolf: so although there probably was a banner, it simply wasn't listed?
Chugin Chub: the instent mesage part of my aim shuts me down or rather causes an error then closes aim
ArPharazonV: did the other Edain-Houses have banners?
GaldorV: ...Llane is a PvE server in WoW
Druidfalconwolf: hmm, not sure
Druidfalconwolf: brb
VardaValar1: Thror, can you try the Sigma chat? See if it works?
Chugin Chub: ?
Menelvagor Valar: no bridge methinks
Chugin Chub: whats sigma chat?
Menelvagor Valar: it's our alternat for AIM
VardaValar1: http://client0.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=90005
Menelvagor Valar: you can access it by the link on the news page
Menelvagor Valar: or that one :-)
VardaValar1: No bridge, but it is a good idea to see if it will work for him
VardaValar1: I'm in there since the start
VardaValar1: Aye, the link is on the News for every meeting
VardaValar1: If it got popular, I thought of putting it in a more permanent spot
Druidfalconwolf: there doesn't seem to be anything listed for banners in the Silmarillion
Nemoeverlonely has entered the room.
ArPharazonV: I just entered... normally I get in there at the beginning of the meeting, but today my entrance to the meeting was a little rushed, as you can imagine...
Nemoeverlonely: Hail, Valar
VardaValar1: Aiya Herumor-ex
ArPharazonV: ah, a new one for my list:-P
Nemoeverlonely: Good to see the meetings are still held
ArPharazonV: up to 83 now!
VardaValar1: We haven't stopped meeting since the very first time
VardaValar1: Every single Sunday since then
ArPharazonV: some more active than others...
GaldorV: Yup all sundays
VardaValar1: But the meeting has continued
ArPharazonV: I remember meetings with just 5 people ;-)
Nemoeverlonely: aye
VardaValar1: Teh people come and go, but the group continues : )
Chugin Chub: i am on it :-)(
GaldorV: It depends on who can make it, besides the regulars and transcript takers, that is ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: aye Galdor
ArPharazonV: been trying to spread Tolkien through the war3-forum I visit so often, but so far only one was interested, and last I heard he would contact Varda... but that was months ago, I think
VardaValar1: Transcript takers tend to be the regulars ;-)
GaldorV: True that Varda
GaldorV: Pharazon, that forum you speak of...which one ?
VardaValar1: Here is Haleth's question for the new folk:
VardaValar1: Druidfalconwolf: I was wondering if the Haladin had a specific standard/banner they used... I've been searching but can't find anything
ArPharazonV: http://war3forum.worldofwar.net/
VardaValar1: Where have you looked so far, Haleth?
Druidfalconwolf: Silmarillion
Chugin Chub: dont mean to hinder but with out iming me cause that would cause an error and i would then need to log back on to aim
Druidfalconwolf: Unfinished Tales, Complete Guide to ME
Druidfalconwolf: so I was wondering if someone read the Book of Lost Tales 1&2 and saw something there...
Chugin Chub: how do u get to the comp regeristy we have a nasty dialer and it keeps coming back
ArPharazonV: reading the BoLT right now, actually... not going fast, but still, might have an answer for you in the upcoming weeks, if it's in there :-)
ArPharazonV: I'll keep my eyes open for it
Druidfalconwolf: thanks :-)
VardaValar1: We can hit the indices too, guys
VardaValar1: Between us we have probably every word the Tolkiens wrote
Nemoeverlonely: and some they didn't
ArPharazonV: heh
VardaValar1: aye, and stories we made up, labeled Fiction : )
ArPharazonV: I've made up my mind... I'm going to buy pictures of/by Tolkien next :-)
Druidfalconwolf: I would, but I have to save my money :-D
VardaValar1: Meanwhile, surf for other Tolkien style pics : )
VardaValar1: Rolozo Tolkien is huge
VardaValar1: You could spend months there : )
Menelvagor Valar: and months of pay as well :-P
Nemoeverlonely: so, out of curiosity, how many of you know me?:-), I mean, how many were around way back when
VardaValar1: Herumor left in Dec 2002
ArPharazonV: well, not me, in that case :-)
Eonwe Valar: Came in Nov 99, so I'd say I've seen you around :}
VardaValar1: You played EQ mostly?
Druidfalconwolf: I just joined in February
Nemoeverlonely: heh, I started the EQ interest among the Valar..I told you guys bout it Varda:-)
Nemoeverlonely: ironic enough that I quit
Nemoeverlonely: but I played SC, d1, d2, and d2x on B-net for years
Eonwe Valar: Nemoeverlonely, would you turn off the black background please? It's hard to read your text with it on.
VardaValar1: It is pretty tough reading, aye
ArPharazonV: February, Haleth? Time does fly....
Druidfalconwolf: February 14, I think
Nemoeverlonely: sorry, one sec...i only see the button for text color, not background
VardaValar1: Thror, Farmer has joined you in Sigma to help out
Nemoeverlonely: is this workable?
VardaValar1: Easier
Nemoeverlonely: is Thror the same ?
Eonwe Valar: Background is usually in the chat preferences if I recall
ArPharazonV: ah.... Valentinesday... always fun to join on holidays/special events
GilraenV: chat preferences > font > window colour I think
Druidfalconwolf: lol
Druidfalconwolf: it also happened to be my dog's birthday
ArPharazonV: I joined on the yearly guild-anniversary....
Eonwe Valar: Thror has become different persons since 2003
Eonwe Valar: er,. 2002
Nemoeverlonely: ok
Nemoeverlonely: ok
Nemoeverlonely: bleh, sorry
ArPharazonV: which just happened to be animal's day in the Netherlands, at least :-)
Druidfalconwolf: haha
Nemoeverlonely: ok
Eonwe Valar: thanks
VardaValar1: Anyone have Peoples of Middle-earth?
VardaValar1: That might mention the Haladin
Eonwe Valar: I do, I'll try.
Druidfalconwolf: I'll check War of the Jewels, I just checked it out from the library yesterday
VardaValar1: Congrats : )
VardaValar1: I'm checking Letters
ArPharazonV: lemme get PoME
VardaValar1: *hears pages flipping all over the world*
Druidfalconwolf: heh
VardaValar1: Letters: not under Haleth, Haladin, First House, Adan
VardaValar1: Edain see Men
ArPharazonV: hmm.... PoME... not Haladin
ArPharazonV: reading some pieces with 'Haleth' now
ArPharazonV: I've found a piece with a lot of info about the Haladin that way, but nothing about banners
Druidfalconwolf: oh well... looks like I get to create a banner for my fanfic then
Eonwe Valar: Nothing I saw in PoME, but the average Noldo is Seven feet tall if anyone is interested.
Druidfalconwolf: lol
VardaValar1: Aragorn was around that too, as I recollect
Menelvagor Valar: that's without the pole, right? :-)
Eonwe Valar: Sounds about right, the passage implied fairly strongly the Men of Numenor were about the same height as Noldor.
VardaValar1: Haleth, you had another question for us?
VardaValar1: Maybe we can look for it at the same time?
Druidfalconwolf: one more question: according to the War of the Jewels, the Haladin were almost extinct around the time of Hurin... was this true in the Silmarillion as well?
Eonwe Valar: "Halfing" is as compared to those for Numenorean and Eldar (especially Noldor). Male Halflings made it to about 3'6''
Eonwe Valar: Not to change the subject, pardon.
ArPharazonV: nope... haven't found anything in PoME either
Druidfalconwolf: 3'6"? that's shorter than me! YAY! :-D
VardaValar1: A ton under "Men" in the Letters to sort through
Eonwe Valar: for Numenorean = of Numenorean descent
VardaValar1: hehe
Druidfalconwolf: I happen to be a very short gnome
VardaValar1: Noldo? : )
Eonwe Valar: I think Home 1-3 would holed more info on the Haladin personally.
Druidfalconwolf: Lays of Beleriand?
VardaValar1: That would be the BoLTs and Lays?
Eonwe Valar: Aye
Eonwe Valar: holed=hold
Druidfalconwolf: I do have Lays...
Menelvagor Valar: so the averag Noldo would be about 7'0"?
VardaValar1: Aye, Menel
Druidfalconwolf: only two feet taller than me :-)
Eonwe Valar: aye, seven feet in our measure
VardaValar1: The half-elves like Elrond mixed with Numenor, so they didn't take a height cut, I'll bet
Eonwe Valar: only about a foot taller than me :}
Menelvagor Valar: that's 2 meters and 13 centimeters....
Menelvagor Valar: that's pretty tall
Druidfalconwolf: Eonwe Valar: only about a foot taller than me :} I feel short
Menelvagor Valar: a little more than 10 inches taller than I am lol
Druidfalconwolf: you're 6' 2" ? *hopes no one notices that I'm only 4' 11"*
Eonwe Valar: Scratch Book 1 off the list of giving info on the Haladin.
Druidfalconwolf: scratch book 3 too
Menelvagor Valar: 6'1.3" to be more exact :-)
Druidfalconwolf: I'm surrounded by tall people both off and on the 'net... :-P
VardaValar1: Um. I'm pretty short : )
Eonwe Valar: Might have to play the name game and start with a larger group, like the people of Hador, figure out who shares the history of the Haladin, and see what that group carries.
Druidfalconwolf: besides Varda then... there are sixth graders taller than me!
Menelvagor Valar: I'm average to tall over here
Menelvagor Valar: not uncommon for me to meet people taller than I am
Eonwe Valar: There are likely six-graders taller than me, hehe :}
ArPharazonV: not sure, average, I guess... about 1 meter 80 or something
ArPharazonV: people taller than me and people shorter than me
ArPharazonV: is a while since I've checked last
Menelvagor Valar: about 5'10" that is Phar :-)
Menelvagor Valar: 1.87 in metrical
Menelvagor Valar: for me that is
Nemoeverlonely: brb
VardaValar1: They are guys. Ok for them to be taller than we are, Haleth ;-)
Druidfalconwolf: hehe
Eonwe Valar: Female Hobbits rarely made it past 3 feet, if that helps :}
Druidfalconwolf: I feel slightly taller again! :-)
VardaValar1: There you go ;-)
VardaValar1: Oh, if anyone wants to hit this topic, in a side window it was "What was the nature of Arda?"
VardaValar1: *continues flipping through Letters*
Eonwe Valar: hehe found "Gimli"
VardaValar1: Eowyn-V and Sauron-Valar say hi :-)
Eonwe Valar: "(sense of) hearing"
VardaValar1: The early one? hehe
Eonwe Valar: and he's a gnome :} (Noldo)
Eonwe Valar: heya to Sauron and Eowyn :}
Eonwe Valar: Alkar,.. hehe
VardaValar1: hmm, looking at the Rings
Shaggyjoe: aye heya!
Druidfalconwolf: *waves*
GaldorV: heya to Sauron ans Eowyn :P
VardaValar1: Sauron said the elves could make an independent paradise like Valinor in the West
VardaValar1: er, book Sauron
GaldorV: time for me to run, Namarie all...until nextime!
VardaValar1: But Lothlorien, while beautiful, was stagnant
VardaValar1: Namarie
ArPharazonV: Namarie
Druidfalconwolf: Namarie
VardaValar1: We did go off into wild tangents :-)
GaldorV has left the room.
Druidfalconwolf: yup :-)
VardaValar1: Rivendell had a lot of new input, visiting Elrond and the libraries
VardaValar1: but it had a kind of stagnation too
Eonwe Valar: Should've read Lost Road a long time ago.. Woul've had another name for Valacirca.
VardaValar1: Mirkwood was so embattled, that it had problems
VardaValar1: We had more than one, didn't we?
VardaValar1: What is it?
Eonwe Valar: Burning Briar as it's caleld by Men.
Eonwe Valar: called even
VardaValar1: I rememember that one
VardaValar1: It was in a chat. I think Elatan/Amillo pulled it on us
ArPharazonV: was that the 7 stars I asked about last time?
ArPharazonV: the Sickle of the Valar?
Eonwe Valar: Rivendell and Lothlorien were mostly a result of the Elven Rings, which were designed for preservation.
VardaValar1: Pleiades would be the seven stars
VardaValar1: Aye, Eonwe
VardaValar1: Preservation can cause stagnation
Eonwe Valar: Aye.
VardaValar1: Constant battle wore down those in Mirkwood. Otherwise it might have grown a lot
VardaValar1: Good place for Sauron/Necromancer to keep down.
Eonwe Valar: The Elves alone I don't think had enouhg inherent power to affect an entire area of land like the Ainur did simply by being there.
GilraenV: I should go sleep now
GilraenV: Namarie all
ArPharazonV: well, something was said about Hollin/Eregion in Lotr, I think
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well Gilraen :}
ArPharazonV: Namarie
Druidfalconwolf: Namarie
ArPharazonV: about the land not forgetting the presence of the Elves that quickly
VardaValar1: namarie
Eonwe Valar: Eregion is where Celebrimbor forged the Rings of Power.
GilraenV has left the room.
VardaValar1: and aye
ArPharazonV: that they living there was still shown in the land itself for many years
ArPharazonV: seemed to have been explained by their mere presence
VardaValar1: Also called the Seven Stars, Sickle of the Valar, Sign of Doom, the Seven Butterflies in "The Coming of the Elves", BoLT I. Called the Plough in BoLT 2.
VardaValar1: Valacirca
Eonwe Valar: The Elves may influence the land to an extent, especially the Noldor who are Calaquendi by birth or by exposure, but an Ainu can do it to a greater extent.
ArPharazonV: so, the 'Seven Stars' 'brought from Numenor' would be that?
ArPharazonV: Seven Stars, Seven Stones, one White Tree?
VardaValar1: Eregion felt the elves' for a very long time
VardaValar1: Brought from Numenor, that would not work
Druidfalconwolf: I'd better get going too
ArPharazonV: well, what did Gandalf say about it in TT?
VardaValar1: Thanks for coming Haleth
Eonwe Valar: Sleep well Haleth.
Druidfalconwolf: it was fun
ArPharazonV: Namarie Haleth
VardaValar1: Tell us, Phar : )
Druidfalconwolf: and lol, not to sleep... practice time
Druidfalconwolf: Namarie
ArPharazonV: I'll go get it...
Eonwe Valar: You have to sleep eventually ;}
Druidfalconwolf: in another... 12.. hours
Druidfalconwolf: I sleep 4-5 hours a day
Eonwe Valar: Not enough. Sleep more :}
Druidfalconwolf: heh
ArPharazonV: ah... a verse Gandalf sang while riding with Pippin to Minas Tirith in chapter 'the Palantir'
ArPharazonV: 'Tall ships and tall kings'
Druidfalconwolf has left the room.
ArPharazonV: 'Three times three,'
ArPharazonV: 'What brought they from the foundered land'
ArPharazonV: 'Over the flowing sea?'
ArPharazonV: 'Seven stars and seven stones'
ArPharazonV: 'And one white tree.'
ArPharazonV: that's the seven stars I was talking about
VardaValar1: I figured. Anything else you found on it?
Eonwe Valar: got it!
Eonwe Valar: Sort of :}
VardaValar1: She just signed off, of course : )
VardaValar1: She's putting it in her Tolkien fic
VardaValar1: Still 4 chapters to go, so we can still catch her : )
Eonwe Valar: The crown of the High King of the Realms in Exile has seven gems set in it :}
VardaValar1: ahhhh
ArPharazonV: aha! thank you! that would be it!
ArPharazonV: where did you find that info?
VardaValar1: You found it where, Esteemed One?
Eonwe Valar: The Steward and the King
VardaValar1: Return of the King, then
ArPharazonV: ...off to get Rotk... will return TT to its place while I'm at it :-)
Eonwe Valar: Seven gems of Adamant set in the circlet.
VardaValar1: Adamant. That's in Galadriel's Ring
ArPharazonV: ah, yes, found it
VardaValar1: oh, a neat tidbit about Sauron
VardaValar1: It was beyond the strength of any will (even his own) to injure it, cast it away, or neglect it.
VardaValar1: Deep in Letters 131
ArPharazonV: letters 131.. sounds familiar... what was the letter cited in the foreword of the Silm?
Eonwe Valar: so even if Sauron wanted to, he couldn't unmake it and recover his power from it?
VardaValar1: Don't you have it handy? I'm going to have to reach over Sauron to get the Sil : )
Eonwe Valar: make Sauron reach for it :}
VardaValar1: Funny huh? : )
VardaValar1: ok :-)
ArPharazonV: ... I'd have to walk through 2 corridors, my room, and a stairs
Eonwe Valar: that's what sons are for when they stand between you and a book :}
Eonwe Valar: or sit :}
ArPharazonV: if you can get it without walking so far, please do ;-)
VardaValar1: He did. It squeaked a bit when he passed it over : )
VardaValar1: He's on WoW now, by the way
VardaValar1: Switched off with Eowyn
ArPharazonV: hmm... I'm helping Sauron take over ME nowadays... conquered Mirkwood today, will finish Anorien tomorrow :-)
VardaValar1: Shows something written by Chris
FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: there should be a letter cited for about 10 pages, but I'm not sure if the letter-number is given
ArPharazonV: then again, it may be the wrong edition :-)
VardaValar1: I don't see any Letter mentioned
ArPharazonV: lemme get the book...
VardaValar1: 4 page Foreword
VardaValar1: This is a Ballantine paperback
ArPharazonV: I've got a harper collins
ArPharazonV: second edition...
VardaValar1: 1981
Eonwe Valar: Houghton Mifflin for the win :}
ArPharazonV: aye, it says the letter cited is letter 131 in 'Letters'
VardaValar1: Go Eonwe : )
ArPharazonV: section: From a letter by J.R.R. Tolkien
VardaValar1: That letter is a mile long
ArPharazonV: to Milton Waldman, 1951
aranfinwe: time for me to depart
aranfinwe: namarie all
ArPharazonV: pages x to ... Namarie...
Eonwe Valar: Forward is 2 and 1/2 pages for me :} (7 and 8 and part of 9)
ArPharazonV: pages x to xxix
VardaValar1: Just counted 19 pages of it
ArPharazonV: ah, 19 pages, yes
Eonwe Valar: take care
aranfinwe has left the room.
VardaValar1: Namarie
VardaValar1: Finwe had to go home from work : )
Chugin Chub has left the room.
VardaValar1: So that is the good news
Eonwe Valar: of course mine was printed in 1977 so that may be why
ArPharazonV: yes, it's the same letter
ArPharazonV: 'it was beyond the strength....' etc is in it
VardaValar1: Thror is still in Sigma
ArPharazonV: second edition is from 1999, it seems
ArPharazonV: so am I, but I don't notice any messages... I have to check manually
ArPharazonV: second edition is from 1999, aye, just as mine was printed in same year
ArPharazonV: shame on you for not keeping up with new editions ;-)
VardaValar1: My even more beat up copy, holding carefully, trying to find copyright
VardaValar1: AlsoBallantine though
ArPharazonV: Harper Collins is mine, as I said
VardaValar1: Title page fell out
ArPharazonV: all my Tolkien books so far are Harper Collins
VardaValar1: Needs more tape
ArPharazonV: the advantage of buying them 8 at a time or so ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Mine eve nstill has the dust jacket in fairly good condition, which originaly artwork by TOlkien himself :}
VardaValar1: Same Foreword
VardaValar1: This old copy had JRRT art
VardaValar1: Mountains
Eonwe Valar: Same
Eonwe Valar: Mine's Hardback btw, probably why the Forward's so short, but I don't see any letter quotes.
VardaValar1: So we were cheated :-) Glad I bought the Letters!
VardaValar1: At least it's a nice letter from Chris. Shows a slight bit of his difficulties compiling the mess into a book
Eonwe Valar: I consider the age of the book worth the trade :}
ArPharazonV: it's part of the second edition, Eonwe, if you don't have that one, you don't get the letter ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Read my comment above yours :}
VardaValar1: I like having the original art
VardaValar1: I have paperbacks with the original art on LotR too. His style is intriguing
ArPharazonV: I gotta go soon
ArPharazonV: gotta get up early tomorrow
Eonwe Valar: ok
Eonwe Valar: sleep well :}
ArPharazonV: thnx
VardaValar1: Good night!
top

After-meeting:
VardaValar1: Sorry, got into a side chat
ArPharazonV: I'll be making my next rp-post when we're on our merry way to Erebor ;-)
VardaValar1: Great!
VardaValar1: Looking forward to it
ArPharazonV: and I've got a few twists in mind for the Calaron-storyline, one of which I'll initiate in my next post
ArPharazonV: the other I'm not sure of if I'll include it, since it'll be a dramatic change
ArPharazonV: if I include it, it'll be by the time we reach Erebor or something
ArPharazonV: when the Mirkwood-war should be well underway ;-)
Eonwe Valar: Mirkwood war doesn't start for several more months :}
ArPharazonV: well, not according to Calaron's reports :-)
Eonwe Valar: we're still before WotR so Sauron isn't moving in force.
ArPharazonV: the war from the south will still be waiting a few months
VardaValar1: Remember where we are in the books
VardaValar1: Really, we are pushing it now
ArPharazonV: but the attack from the North, including that dark menace we encountered, could be coming soon...
VardaValar1: Mirkwood wasn't withdrawing into the fortress
Eonwe Valar: Some enemy movements are expected, but let's not kick off the WotR before Aragorn does :}
ArPharazonV: or at least a few pre-emptive strikes
VardaValar1: The dark should have been coming from the south
ArPharazonV: are all that are needed for my story-twist
VardaValar1: from the mountains
VardaValar1: not the north
ArPharazonV: ok then
VardaValar1: That would let us play with it without obviously breaking canon
ArPharazonV: some enemy movements, including one major one, which will leave no trace whatsoever...
VardaValar1: We could not attack Dol Guldur, for instance
ArPharazonV: I've got in mind that Calaron's main outpost in the woods, nearer the northern areas, is completely overrun by orcs
ArPharazonV: eventually leading to his final capture, and corruption by the unnamed menace from the North
ArPharazonV: he'll be a great adversary for us for a while ;-)
ArPharazonV: I've already got his capture-story set up
ArPharazonV: and his corruption-scene in mind
ArPharazonV: it needn't be big
ArPharazonV: let's see.. the Orcs have dispatched a few patrols and parties to the backside of the camp, behind the first lines of defense
VardaValar1: How is he going to handle our group? Will he be leading orcs? They had no elves leading orcs in Tolkien
ArPharazonV: they'll prevent messengers from the outpost from getting to Thranduil
VardaValar1: So what plan?
ArPharazonV: then an army of Orcs overruns the outpost... Helvy is the only one who makes it alive, with a piece of Orc clothing, to bring the news... or something like that...
ArPharazonV: how he'll appear before us? I've got some ideas about that
ArPharazonV: but it'll probably won't be Orcs
ArPharazonV: I'll probably give him some sort of Witch-kingy/sorcery/powers
ArPharazonV: but not much
ArPharazonV: control over a force of spiders or squirrels, or the things we have already faced before
ArPharazonV: and, of course, skilled with the bow like an Elf
ArPharazonV: but using poisoned arrows etc
ArPharazonV: sitting on a black horse, with some new armor...
ArPharazonV: 'the vision'-armor from WTF-comics coming in mind, perhaps...
ArPharazonV: but my imagination is getting out of control now
Menelvagor Valar: you could give him command over a company of Men from Rhûn to make sure any attempts to reach Gondor from the north or messages from Gondor are intercepted and dealth with
ArPharazonV: I'll probably see whatever it'll be when the time omes
ArPharazonV: *comes
ArPharazonV: sounds good
ArPharazonV: but that depends on where we, in the rp, will be going in our journies
Menelvagor Valar: have him clad in black plate mail, so he can't be recognised
ArPharazonV: as I want him to be our main adversary for quite some time
Menelvagor Valar: I would expect we'd be goind south along the river for a while and either go through the woods on the main road north of Dol Guldur, or south of it
VardaValar1: He is a minor player in the plot though
ArPharazonV: for now, yes :-)
ArPharazonV: but I've been wanting to increase his part ever since I introduced him
VardaValar1: The source of the Gulhuine is the danger, and we are not supposed to be tackling the dangers and clearing them, just scouting to see what they are
ArPharazonV: but anyway
ArPharazonV: the capture- and corruption-twists are acceptable?
Menelvagor Valar: well.... you shouldn't be angered if you find Calaron has an arrow from Fainan sticking out of his breast :P
Eonwe Valar: We're going to Ereobr :} that's not going to take us to Dol Guldor.
VardaValar1: Is the only way to increase his part to make him a villain?
Menelvagor Valar: after Erebor, Eonwe :-)
Eonwe Valar: *Erebor
VardaValar1: Right, Menel : )
ArPharazonV: I know, Menel, I had envisioned it as such... us wounding him at least
VardaValar1: Kinslaying is foreign to us
ArPharazonV: then him coming back with a bandage about his breast
ArPharazonV: well
ArPharazonV: perhaps Fili can do it then ;-)
VardaValar1: But if he is no longer an "elf"?
Nemoeverlonely has left the room.
Eonwe Valar: Wouding who?
Eonwe Valar: *Wounding
VardaValar1: Aye. Fili can kill him off no problem :-)
Menelvagor Valar: if he wears a helmet and is inrecognizable, you would kill him if he attacked you :-)
VardaValar1: Then you can make another character
VardaValar1: True
ArPharazonV: or perhaps Helvy could take care of him at the end, being such an enemy of the Gulhuine
Eonwe Valar: Apparently I missed something in this conversation./
ArPharazonV: which is, basically, the main source of his corruption
VardaValar1: No elf would act like that, and I might think he's human and shoot him
ArPharazonV: I'm going to make Calaron evil, Eonwe :-)
VardaValar1: But then would have to die of grief for killing an elf. Bah. Let Fili kill him :-)
VardaValar1: In MeO, the corruption is slow
Menelvagor Valar: maybe let the Avar handle it? :-)
VardaValar1: with a chance at redemption along the way
ArPharazonV: not like this... with the main source/enemy completely concentrating on him....
VardaValar1: The Avari are elves too, not keen on kinslaying
Eonwe Valar: I don't really see how he could become "Evil"
ArPharazonV: it'll be a whole voices-in-head/overwhelmed-by-shadow/sort of thing
Menelvagor Valar: well, they have dealt with corruption and Orcs since the beginning
Eonwe Valar: Fëanor was about as close to evil as they come, and he certainly didn't side with the minions of Morgoth.
Menelvagor Valar: it might not be unthinkable that in certain cases they can set their objections on kin-slaying aside
VardaValar1: You are thinking like a human
VardaValar1: The Teleri killed the Noldor who were attacking their home, so yes
ArPharazonV: read the discussion above, Eonwe, I've got a whole plot lined out about him being captured, lost and disorientated, and eventually overcome by shadow
Menelvagor Valar: problem remains Phar, by the time he gets overcome by the shadow, we might be hard to track
Eonwe Valar: I'm just thinking about where it says Elves won't ever be decieved by the Shadow again :}
VardaValar1: We were going to shuck the extra elves at the border and try to concentrate on the main characters
VardaValar1: Aye, Eonwe
VardaValar1: We had to let the guild have a chance to jump in
ArPharazonV: all depends on the intensity, Eonwe... you'll see...
ArPharazonV: I'll find some way to make it feasable
VardaValar1: If he were tricked into doing something, that would be workable
ArPharazonV: this would be actual brainwashing, Varda
ArPharazonV: like the Gulhuine should
VardaValar1: I can see you are set on being a villain
Eonwe Valar: so we have something on the level of a dragon at work?
ArPharazonV: just intensified specifically on him by the nameless menace we have already seen
Menelvagor Valar: not an elf has been brainwashed since the "awakening"
Menelvagor Valar: and even that is speculation
VardaValar1: Aye, Menel
VardaValar1: The ones that were completely twisted had to be so far gone as to be Orcs
Menelvagor Valar: subdued into submission, or something like that
ArPharazonV: it'll tire, even exhaust, the Gulhuine-spreading enemy
ArPharazonV: but it'll do the trick
Menelvagor Valar: well...
VardaValar1: Why pick him?
ArPharazonV: Calaron?
VardaValar1: Is he weak somehow?
ArPharazonV: because I've always wanted it to be one of my characters who's corrupted, a chance for me to show my dark side...
Menelvagor Valar: you could of course have him return to the party and say they have to go left, because on the right is an ambush, while the enemy has tricked him into believing that, and the actual ambush is left
ArPharazonV: and because he'll be a powerful asset to the enemy
Eonwe Valar: Welol, there are those who were made thralls to Morgoth, but Sauron in no way has that kind of power to wield and force Elves to his side, especially when the Elves are dead set against it.
VardaValar1: Something like that would work, Menel
VardaValar1: Disinformation
Eonwe Valar: Welol = Well,.. and also all those thralls would've been dealt with at the end of the First Age.
ArPharazonV: could work, Menel, but I would have him be more direct from the beginning... but we'll see
Menelvagor Valar: also, you could RP an NPC scout captain to track, ambush or whatever the party, and still show your dark side
VardaValar1: Weren't you trying to clear the sullied name of Pharazon? : )
ArPharazonV: but we'll discuss this another time, I have to go now
VardaValar1: Get some sleep, Phar : )
ArPharazonV: aye, I was, but I like playing evil characters ;-)
VardaValar1: Namarie
Menelvagor Valar: then make it non-elven chars :-)
VardaValar1: you could play an orc : )
VardaValar1: You don't have to play the elf as the evil one, right
ArPharazonV: neh... orcs just seem too weak and mundane for my purposes...
VardaValar1: Then another, maybe the one behind the Gulhuine
ArPharazonV: I really have a whole prince-of-darkness thing in mind
VardaValar1: Then that would be the one, not the elf
Menelvagor Valar: then get a human witch-king kinda guy to do it
ArPharazonV: and it's not like I need a fourth character ;-)
ArPharazonV: I want Calaron to be a human witch-kingy guy
ArPharazonV: and besides
ArPharazonV: the whole brother-vs-brother thing is also a thing I want to exploit
VardaValar1: Kill him now, Fili ;-)
VardaValar1: How about working your character off our characters too?
VardaValar1: You aren't alone in this thing
Menelvagor Valar: Third Age, Tolkien.... not going to happen, I'd say
Eonwe Valar: Can't be witch-kingy :} there's only 8 witch-kingy persons in existence :}
Eonwe Valar: the 9th is the Witch-King :}
Menelvagor Valar: well....
Menelvagor Valar: there is the possibility of introducing a lesser Maia
ArPharazonV: hey, I'm not giving him a ring...
ArPharazonV: nor am I making him undead
Menelvagor Valar: not all those who flocked to Morgoth were captured
Nemoeverlonely has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: And Mouth-of-Saurony would take alot longer than we've got :}
VardaValar1: Aiya
Menelvagor Valar: but s/he would likely work on his own behalf
ArPharazonV: VardaValar1: How about working your character off our characters too?
Eonwe Valar: Turbine is introducing the "Rogmul"
ArPharazonV: I was thinking about that
Menelvagor Valar: that his / her designs would fall together with Sauron's plans would be purely coincidental
Eonwe Valar: but no doubt that'll only be found in Moria, if you look at the meaning of the name, and the Developer Diaries.
VardaValar1: Not really. Sauron works the other evils to his ends
ArPharazonV: but then again, we all need our own little twists and details.. and I'm not stopping you from doing the same things ;-)
Menelvagor Valar: like the Balrog of Moria, that one certainly wasn't under control of Sauron
VardaValar1: Just try to stick to Tolkien, and all is well
Eonwe Valar: Sauron is Morgoth's second in command.
VardaValar1: That is not little
ArPharazonV: trust me
ArPharazonV: evil Calaron will be the biggest twist I'll ever invent in this rp
VardaValar1: I'll trust Eru to keep you from us : )
ArPharazonV: I won't depart from Tolkien any further
Menelvagor Valar: praise be to Eru there's still masses of ways to circumvent such hazards :-)
VardaValar1: Sounds pretty far already
VardaValar1: What are you going to do if we kill him off?
ArPharazonV: not sure
VardaValar1: Could bring in his brother/
VardaValar1: ?
ArPharazonV: I'm thinking it will be a while before we kill him off
VardaValar1: Good luck with your plot line
ArPharazonV: but it'll surely tie in closely with Calion's own story, and definitely Helvy's... perhaps the poor Wolf's final battle as well
ArPharazonV: who will, I assure you, remain good, btw
VardaValar1: We really need to stick to one character apiece
ArPharazonV: but by that time I think I'll be done with my own stories, and rest on your twists..... until I can come up with something new
VardaValar1: I learned that in running gaming campaigns on board games
ArPharazonV: don't worry
VardaValar1: More than that becomes a mess
ArPharazonV: Calion will become my main by far
VardaValar1: Too late, I see it coming
ArPharazonV: Calaron and Helvy will only play minor rules, almost exclusively together
ArPharazonV: and as I said
ArPharazonV: they'll both die off after a while
ArPharazonV: probably together
ArPharazonV: but hey
ArPharazonV: we'll cross that bridge when we get there
VardaValar1: That is just it
VardaValar1: They are going to be separate
ArPharazonV: I'm not throwing in the entire twist until we get to Erebor at least
VardaValar1: This is always a problem in gaming
ArPharazonV: I'll make it work, I promise
ArPharazonV: and when it really becomes a problem
ArPharazonV: I assure you I'll concentrate on Calion
ArPharazonV: but we've got plenty of tiime to discuss it, and I REALLY have to go
VardaValar1: Namarie!
ArPharazonV: saving transcript now
VardaValar1: Thanks
ArPharazonV: Namarie
(Menelvagor's transcript):
ArPharazonV (20:24:57): saved
ArPharazonV (20:25:04): I can tell you one thing though
ArPharazonV (20:25:12): I'm really going to have fun with this rp ;-)
VardaValar1 (20:25:22): Don't forget to leave us in ;-)
ArPharazonV (20:25:36): I won't
VardaValar1 (20:25:40): We were hoping for more characterization
VardaValar1 (20:25:46): not just video game fighting
ArPharazonV (20:25:56): as I said, you can add your own little aspects as well...
ArPharazonV (20:26:06): I'm not desiring to dominate the entire rp :-)
VardaValar1 (20:26:57): Have fun
ArPharazonV (20:27:13): it is sent
VardaValar1 (20:27:17): Thanks!
