    Transcript from Arathorn-(V)
    Informal get-together. Varda's PC connection has been shot since about April 23
But we always get around to Tolkien  : )

ArPharazonV (4:35:34 PM): Aiya
(4:40:37 PM) alwin0 has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (4:40:46 PM): wel, dit is t dus
ArPharazonV (4:40:55 PM): nog nie veel mensen, maar dat komt nog wel
alwin0 (4:41:09 PM): dan moet het in het engels verder :-)
ArPharazonV (4:41:14 PM): yes
ArPharazonV (4:41:22 PM): you can do that, can't you?
alwin0 (4:41:42 PM): yes i can :-)
alwin0 (4:41:53 PM): :P
alwin0 (4:42:00 PM): maybe yes I do better?
ArPharazonV (4:42:04 PM): :-)
ArPharazonV (4:42:23 PM): do you know the code of conduct?
ArPharazonV (4:42:53 PM):
alwin0 (4:42:56 PM): almost
ArPharazonV (4:44:09 PM): All are expected to be polite and respect each other;
there will be no judging of others, no malicious remarks allowed, no
discrimination whatsoever.
ArPharazonV (4:44:14 PM): Coarse language is not acceptable, nor is screaming;
it is disruptive and rude.
ArPharazonV (4:44:21 PM): No spamming or flooding (hogging of the channel with
irrelevant or repetitive posts).
ArPharazonV (4:45:04 PM): During meetings please just listen so that we can get
through business quickly. Ideas and suggestions are always welcome, and will be
addressed after the formal business is completed.
ArPharazonV (4:45:20 PM): To prevent discordance, it is suggested that we keep
posts related to the current topic public, and whisper any unrelated or
irrelevant posts, they are disruptive to the chat.
ArPharazonV (4:45:28 PM): those should be the rules applied to you
alwin0 (4:45:48 PM): arpara you just gone of the rules? :-)
ArPharazonV (4:46:11 PM): which one?
ArPharazonV (4:46:46 PM): the spamming and flooding: this is a relevant quote,
so it doesn't count :-)
alwin0 (4:46:48 PM): ArPharazonV: No spamming or flooding
alwin0 (4:46:56 PM): ok
ArPharazonV (4:47:38 PM): it's relevant, and it's not repetitive, because all
sentences are pretty different, I'd say ;-)
alwin0 (4:48:12 PM): ic the other mike is rather quiet
ArPharazonV (4:49:05 PM): and besides, the meeting hasn't started yet.... yes he
is, he just uses the name to keep the channel open or something, when he comes
'in person' it's Arathorn
ArPharazonV (4:50:05 PM): and sometimes he uses the almost permanently present
user-account to construct a mostly complete transcript of the meeting
alwin0 (4:50:38 PM): including this chat :P
ArPharazonV (4:51:16 PM): like the one of last week, which started with my
entering the channel (I was the first, as usual) and our pre-meeting chat
ArPharazonV (4:51:34 PM): so yes, this part could be a part of the site within a
few days :-D
alwin0 (4:53:01 PM): with the comment of the red, alwin0: the not so well known
person that just came around the corner and doesn't speak very well english.
ArPharazonV (4:53:39 PM): what?
ArPharazonV (4:54:00 PM): is that a strange way of saying Lilian just entered
the room?
alwin0 (4:54:12 PM): nope
ArPharazonV (4:54:34 PM): ok, then I'm totally misinterpreting your sentence
alwin0 (4:54:34 PM): just a strange way to say my english isn't the best :-)
ArPharazonV (4:55:04 PM): ah..... you mean a comment on the site
alwin0 (4:55:10 PM): than you completely confirm my scentence :-)
ArPharazonV (4:55:31 PM): I get it now
alwin0 (4:55:47 PM): woohoo
ArPharazonV (4:56:22 PM): but anyway, the colors you have depend on your own
account, and the order of the list
ArPharazonV (4:57:02 PM): you always show up red yourself, and then the other
guys in the room receive their colors in the order they came in
ArPharazonV (4:57:28 PM): so, in my window, you have a strange pinkish color,
because you're the third in the list
ArPharazonV (4:57:35 PM): I myself am red
ArPharazonV (4:57:43 PM): and Mikenowo would be blue
ArPharazonV (4:57:47 PM): if he spoke
(4:58:14 PM) Eonwe Valar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (4:58:20 PM): and in your window, you are red, I'm blue, and nowo
would turn up in that pink color
ArPharazonV (4:58:25 PM): Aiya!
Eonwe Valar (4:58:43 PM): heya :}
mikenowo (4:58:49 PM): sorry.. I only have this to keep the meet... I'm away
for a long while... l8r!
Eonwe Valar (4:59:03 PM): hf :}
Eonwe Valar (4:59:16 PM): Alwin,.. afraid I don't recognize the name :}
ArPharazonV (4:59:24 PM): meet Alwin, also known as Halewijn to some
guildmembers who already met him in War3
alwin0 (4:59:31 PM): hehe
Eonwe Valar (4:59:32 PM): ah :}
ArPharazonV (4:59:38 PM): he's a friend of mine, thinking of joining the guild
alwin0 (5:00:21 PM): indeed
ArPharazonV (5:00:30 PM): or at least, trying to join the guild :-D
ArPharazonV (5:00:48 PM): who knows if he'll pass the test... he has read Lotr,
of course
alwin0 (5:00:48 PM): or better to say trying to keep up with the english
conversation :D
alwin0 (5:01:00 PM): and silm....
ArPharazonV (5:01:07 PM): that too
alwin0 (5:01:11 PM): and hobbit
ArPharazonV (5:01:16 PM): but the test only covers Lotr :-)
ArPharazonV (5:01:23 PM): the first test, that is
alwin0 (5:01:46 PM): isn't there a hobbit test fot little people?
ArPharazonV (5:01:53 PM): heh heh
alwin0 (5:01:54 PM): fot = for
ArPharazonV (5:02:06 PM): for halflings :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:02:18 PM): only for members of honor, and those are young
children of current members
alwin0 (5:02:32 PM): 1.80 halfling enough nowadays?
Eonwe Valar (5:02:41 PM): 1.8?
alwin0 (5:02:48 PM): 1.80 Meter
Eonwe Valar (5:02:55 PM): ah, we measure in feet :}
alwin0 (5:03:05 PM): feet = 30 cm?
ArPharazonV (5:03:10 PM): hm.... that would be... 6 feet
Eonwe Valar (5:03:16 PM): lol
ArPharazonV (5:03:17 PM): a little tall for a hobbit
alwin0 (5:03:21 PM): :P
Eonwe Valar (5:03:28 PM): tall? that would be the Ent of Hobbits :}
ArPharazonV (5:03:36 PM): he could ride a horse :-)
alwin0 (5:03:44 PM): golioth hobbit :-)
ArPharazonV (5:04:01 PM): with a little hight more, he could ride an oliphaunt
Eonwe Valar (5:04:04 PM): hmm it is 4 isn't it?
ArPharazonV (5:04:16 PM): the longest so far, yes
ArPharazonV (5:04:31 PM): although, is it actually stated how long M and P
eventually grew too?
ArPharazonV (5:04:35 PM): *to
ArPharazonV (5:04:45 PM): *the tallest
Eonwe Valar (5:05:27 PM): I can't imagine they got much taller than the
Bullroarer, so probably about 4 feet
ArPharazonV (5:05:47 PM): they did surpass the Bullroarer
ArPharazonV (5:06:13 PM): but not by much, probably, aye
alwin0 (5:07:12 PM): how tall was gandalf?
Eonwe Valar (5:07:23 PM): Talle rthan a hobbit, shorter than an Elf :}
Eonwe Valar (5:07:54 PM): it doesn't give an exact height, but between Elrond,
Glorfindel, and he, he's the third tallest
ArPharazonV (5:07:55 PM): aren't elves supposed to get smaller and smaller with
every added human on Arda?
Eonwe Valar (5:08:02 PM): ew no
Eonwe Valar (5:08:15 PM): I hope not
alwin0 (5:08:18 PM): hehe
alwin0 (5:08:33 PM): 7 billion schrinkings.....
ArPharazonV (5:08:36 PM): something about the ratio of humans and elves
breathing the same air
Eonwe Valar (5:08:52 PM): it was with the passage of time that they would become
a rustic folk and eventually fade away
ArPharazonV (5:09:10 PM): that too, he had a lot of theories about it :-)
ArPharazonV (5:09:33 PM): but you're right, that's one more recent
ArPharazonV (5:09:42 PM): *that one's
Eonwe Valar (5:09:59 PM): If I were a writer (and I am :}) the smaller and
smaller thing would be a theory i crossed out only seconds after writing it,
then be disgusted I ever came up with it,.. but that's me :}
ArPharazonV (5:10:13 PM): well, he did right it, you know
ArPharazonV (5:10:17 PM): *write
ArPharazonV (5:10:23 PM): what's wrong with me??
Eonwe Valar (5:10:24 PM): *shudders* it sounds wrong :}
Eonwe Valar (5:10:33 PM): where did he write this?
ArPharazonV (5:10:42 PM): but anyway, he said it somewhere in Lost Tales, I
ArPharazonV (5:10:50 PM): probably the last chapter
ArPharazonV (5:10:55 PM): I'll look it up...
Eonwe Valar (5:11:04 PM): ok
Eonwe Valar (5:11:16 PM): Well, it looks like we really won't have a meeting
Eonwe Valar (5:11:22 PM): spo here's the news I had:
Eonwe Valar (5:11:30 PM): Arathorn made some updates to the ME mod uniques page
Eonwe Valar (5:11:41 PM): that's it :}
ArPharazonV (5:11:45 PM): :-)
ArPharazonV (5:11:49 PM): no membership news?
Eonwe Valar (5:12:38 PM): I haven't seen anyone since last week so I have none
Eonwe Valar (5:12:46 PM): do you have membership news?
ArPharazonV (5:12:49 PM): nope
ArPharazonV (5:12:58 PM): but usually there is something
ArPharazonV (5:13:04 PM): oh wait, I spoke to Turgon this week
Eonwe Valar (5:13:09 PM): Varda is apparently still having dsl problems, so that
about does it for Membership news then
ArPharazonV (5:13:11 PM): he was on the forum as well
(5:13:14 PM) GwaihirValar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (5:13:18 PM): Aiya
GwaihirValar (5:13:21 PM): hullo
Eonwe Valar (5:13:30 PM): heya Gwaihir :}
ArPharazonV (5:13:37 PM): you just expanded our meeting group by 25%
Eonwe Valar (5:13:38 PM): we're up to 5 people :}
GwaihirValar (5:13:51 PM): *glares at* I'm really rather annoyed at
this... I just mysteriously lost about 8 items... while in the game... with
nobody else there...
ArPharazonV (5:14:04 PM): d2?
GwaihirValar (5:14:06 PM): aye
Eonwe Valar (5:14:09 PM): depends on the item,.. might've been the timer they
GwaihirValar (5:14:15 PM): I was in the town
GwaihirValar (5:14:17 PM): in the screen
Eonwe Valar (5:14:27 PM): ok then I don't know :}
GwaihirValar (5:14:27 PM): same screen as the items
GwaihirValar (5:14:28 PM): lol
GwaihirValar (5:14:32 PM): ya
GwaihirValar (5:14:39 PM): and yet a few items that WEREN'T in the same screen
as me
GwaihirValar (5:14:42 PM): didn't disappear
GwaihirValar (5:14:43 PM): lol
Eonwe Valar (5:14:45 PM): I just know that I was in the Elder Days on ME mod at
the time, so I didn't do it :}
GwaihirValar (5:14:50 PM): hehe
GwaihirValar (5:14:53 PM): nobody joined the gmae
GwaihirValar (5:14:54 PM): game*
ArPharazonV (5:14:58 PM): I can't find the quote anywhere....
GwaihirValar (5:15:07 PM): I went afk for a few minutes... came back to find the
items I was about to transfer were gone
ArPharazonV (5:15:09 PM): but I'm sure it's somewhere in the Histories
Eonwe Valar (5:16:54 PM): so should we give it a few more minutes ?
GwaihirValar (5:17:01 PM): alright
Eonwe Valar (5:17:06 PM): here's the news for you Gwaihir:
Eonwe Valar (5:17:34 PM): Varda having dsl problems,... Turgon spotted on the
board,... Arathorn updated ME mod uniques
GwaihirValar (5:17:50 PM): Turgon was online as well
GwaihirValar (5:17:52 PM): I saw him lol
GwaihirValar (5:17:54 PM): on MSN
GwaihirValar (5:18:00 PM): for a bit
GwaihirValar (5:18:11 PM): oh, one more piece of news
GwaihirValar (5:18:13 PM): Luthien's returned :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:18:25 PM): yay! :}
Eonwe Valar (5:18:38 PM): how's she doing?
GwaihirValar (5:18:49 PM): quite well... she's finally got her game back lol
Eonwe Valar (5:18:53 PM): :}
Eonwe Valar (5:19:01 PM): means we'll see her on WC3? :}
GwaihirValar (5:19:17 PM): prolly not wc3 so much as d2x
GwaihirValar (5:19:27 PM): but I might be able to talk her into playing tft some
GwaihirValar (5:19:27 PM): hehe
Eonwe Valar (5:20:01 PM): At least ask her to log in just in case blizzard
decides to wipe the 200+ dayers off our list :}
GwaihirValar (5:20:06 PM): hehe
ArPharazonV (5:20:16 PM): what about the contest in westfall, btw?
ArPharazonV (5:20:22 PM): has the guild formed yet?
GwaihirValar (5:20:24 PM): lol
GwaihirValar (5:20:32 PM): the contest ends tomorrow
Eonwe Valar (5:20:34 PM): nope because we haven't got enough together yet
GwaihirValar (5:20:34 PM): really no point
Eonwe Valar (5:20:43 PM): yeah at this point there's no point :}
GwaihirValar (5:20:52 PM): and once the beta's over... Westfall goes byebye
ArPharazonV (5:20:56 PM): like a maximum of 5 at the same time, or something?
(5:20:56 PM) Chugin Chub has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (5:20:59 PM): Aiya
Eonwe Valar (5:21:04 PM): heya :}
Chugin Chub (5:21:11 PM): hello
GwaihirValar (5:21:12 PM): you need a minimum of ten... we've had at most 6 or 7
I think
Eonwe Valar (5:21:27 PM): 6 is as many as I've seen at once
GwaihirValar (5:21:37 PM): GAH!!! I just realized just what I lost :-(
GwaihirValar (5:21:42 PM): stupid bnet glitch...
ArPharazonV (5:21:58 PM): well?
GwaihirValar (5:22:11 PM): Arreatt's Face, Occulus, Spire of Honour, IK belt,
Griswold's Heart... among others...
Eonwe Valar (5:22:29 PM): I've lost worse :}
ArPharazonV (5:22:44 PM): I haven't played the game yet, but sounds to me like
some pretty rare items :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:22:48 PM): Both of my high level LoD characters
GwaihirValar (5:22:59 PM): ya... but that Occulus would've been a nice thing to
give to my girlfriend whose just started playing d2x on a sorc...
Eonwe Valar (5:23:07 PM): lvl 88 Paladin Fionwe-Valar and lvl 67 Assassin
GwaihirValar (5:23:10 PM): oh well, Eo, your high level characters
GwaihirValar (5:23:15 PM): would've been useless now
GwaihirValar (5:23:16 PM): lol
GwaihirValar (5:23:22 PM): all of my old chars were
Eonwe Valar (5:23:42 PM): yeah, but all the work I put into them, plus my
chances of ever getting chars that high again are pretty slim
ArPharazonV (5:23:47 PM): I can't find a link to Arathorn's unique page, where
is it?
GwaihirValar (5:24:05 PM): hell... my level 70 necro with full Necro set can
barely kill guys in the blood moor on hell
Eonwe Valar (5:24:08 PM): Go to the Games Page and click on the D2 players
Eonwe Valar (5:24:28 PM): my Dunadan didn't do too bad as I recall
GwaihirValar (5:24:35 PM): after patch?
Eonwe Valar (5:24:39 PM): yeah
Eonwe Valar (5:24:58 PM): I remember taking him for a short spin, then never
getting on him again apparently
GwaihirValar (5:25:00 PM): you mean on the mod? I don't know how V&K modified
the difficulty on the mod...
ArPharazonV (5:25:04 PM): I'm on that page, now what?
Eonwe Valar (5:25:11 PM): er, I mean my paladin
Eonwe Valar (5:25:17 PM): Fionwe lvl 88
GwaihirValar (5:25:18 PM): ahh
GwaihirValar (5:25:22 PM): hmm... where'd you go?
Eonwe Valar (5:25:27 PM): pardon, as you see I've been focusing on ME mod
GwaihirValar (5:25:30 PM): hehe
GwaihirValar (5:25:47 PM): my level 87 paladin with godly equipment can still
die very easily on hell difficulty
GwaihirValar (5:25:49 PM): lol
GwaihirValar (5:26:02 PM): and my 75 sorc can't move to hell yet
GwaihirValar (5:26:04 PM): not strong enough
Eonwe Valar (5:26:10 PM): er, the ME mod players listing
GwaihirValar (5:26:15 PM): my 75 barb is barely strong enough...
Eonwe Valar (5:26:20 PM): then you'll see it on the right side of the screen
GwaihirValar (5:26:33 PM): my 77 zon can survive somewhat... but... not very
well... despite having absolutely absurb equipment hehe
GwaihirValar (5:26:35 PM): absurd*
GwaihirValar (5:26:54 PM): my assassin can survive... but barely kill... despite
having most of Nat's set as well as two unique claws...
GwaihirValar (5:27:04 PM): at level 80
GwaihirValar (5:27:27 PM): The only one of my chars that can survive, by sheer
virtue of the items I gave him, is my Zealot paladin
ArPharazonV (5:27:31 PM): well, at least that's more challenging then Morrowind:
I'm just level 25 (out of like 100), on difficulty 100 (the highest) and I can
already defeat the worst things the game has, except for some specific named
monsters and npc's
GwaihirValar (5:27:34 PM): level 83... and he slaughters everything hehe :-)
GwaihirValar (5:27:48 PM): Diablo 2 is VERY difficult now... lol
GwaihirValar (5:28:00 PM): the patch made hell difficulty like 100 times harder
ArPharazonV (5:28:30 PM): varda's online!
GwaihirValar (5:28:35 PM): aye, she is :-)
ArPharazonV (5:28:46 PM): who's gonna invite her?
(5:28:58 PM) VardaValar1 has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (5:29:02 PM): Aiya
VardaValar1 (5:29:06 PM): Aiya!
Eonwe Valar (5:29:10 PM): She declined my invitation :}
VardaValar1 (5:29:13 PM): Not sure how long we can keep this connection
Chugin Chub (5:29:18 PM): hello there :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:29:20 PM): heya Elbereth :}
VardaValar1 (5:29:22 PM): hehe - pardon, invited myself
VardaValar1 (5:29:23 PM): Aiya
ArPharazonV (5:29:36 PM): well, it doesn't seem there's very much news, do you
have some?
VardaValar1 (5:29:37 PM): Please don't let me interrupt, pray go ahead!
GwaihirValar (5:29:37 PM): hey Varda :-)
GwaihirValar (5:29:54 PM): we were just discussing d2x lol
VardaValar1 (5:29:57 PM): Mostly been working on Folklore & Mythology page
Eonwe Valar (5:30:09 PM): We had only 4 people up until about 10 minutes ago,
and since ther ereally was no news, I've just been passing what I have to
everyone who walks in :}
VardaValar1 (5:30:11 PM): Trouble uploading, takes internet connection to do it
VardaValar1 (5:30:28 PM): Please pass on to me too? :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:30:32 PM): ok :}
GwaihirValar (5:30:35 PM): I added a small bit of news too
GwaihirValar (5:30:36 PM): :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:31:04 PM): Varda having dsl problems, Turgon spotted online and
on board, Luthien back (has her game), Arathorn updated Me mod Uniques page
GwaihirValar (5:31:20 PM): Aye, Luthien's brother's back from university and she
finally has her games again lol
VardaValar1 (5:31:24 PM): Yay!
VardaValar1 (5:31:35 PM): Thanks
VardaValar1 (5:31:52 PM): We seem to be hit by a combo of problems, including
virus and worms
GwaihirValar (5:32:06 PM): ouch... good luck!
VardaValar1 (5:32:07 PM): We stay up until another spawns, I guess
Eonwe Valar (5:32:09 PM): And since the tourney on Westfall ends tomorrow, we
missed the chance to set up our Guild there and compete as a guild there
VardaValar1 (5:32:15 PM): O man
ArPharazonV (5:32:15 PM): it's a conspiracy...
VardaValar1 (5:32:19 PM): Sorry, Eonwe
Eonwe Valar (5:32:34 PM): np,.. can't blame anyone because I didn't have time
either :}
VardaValar1 (5:32:44 PM): I crashed trying to go in
ArPharazonV (5:32:44 PM): he, who knows, knowing Blizzard, it could drag out for
months ;-)
VardaValar1 (5:32:53 PM): could have given you two guys that way at the same
GwaihirValar (5:32:53 PM): I wasn't on tft all that much either actually
Eonwe Valar (5:33:09 PM): Ah, one thing that is important news!
Eonwe Valar (5:33:32 PM): We're on chapter two of our MEO roleplay. Make sure
you're posting to the right paret (the other is locked anyway :})
Eonwe Valar (5:33:39 PM): *part
ArPharazonV (5:33:51 PM): I haven't posted yet, probably gonna do that tonight
VardaValar1 (5:33:53 PM): I haven't been able to come into it lately, much
happen since I was last there?
VardaValar1 (5:34:04 PM): Couldn't even look at it, can try it now
ArPharazonV (5:34:12 PM): I waited until there was some development, so I could
make a bigger than tiny post
Eonwe Valar (5:34:16 PM): Well, I went ahead and "declared" us at the
gaurdpost/rest stop
VardaValar1 (5:34:19 PM): Blessings on Eowyn for getting us online for the
second :-)
VardaValar1 (5:34:24 PM): Ah good :-)
Eonwe Valar (5:34:25 PM): thought we could use an uneventful ride there :}
VardaValar1 (5:34:30 PM): heeh
Chugin Chub (5:34:37 PM): o varda updated my site and made it look differnt :-)
ArPharazonV (5:34:38 PM): and Arathorn confirmed the trip uneventful
VardaValar1 (5:34:38 PM): Had plenty just before it, all bushed
VardaValar1 (5:34:46 PM): Cool, Thror :-)
Chugin Chub (5:35:09 PM): should check it out when u have a chance :-)
GwaihirValar (5:35:23 PM): *chuckles* ya know... I'm achin' right now... and I
smell a bit from work... so I'm gonna go soak my achin' bones in a bath... be
back in a while...
ArPharazonV (5:35:35 PM): Namarie, Gwai
VardaValar1 (5:35:37 PM): Enjoy the water!
GwaihirValar (5:35:41 PM): will do :-)

VardaValar1 (5:37:45 PM): alwin0, hello
VardaValar1 (5:37:50 PM): Do I know you?
alwin0 (5:37:56 PM): hello
ArPharazonV (5:37:57 PM): friend of mine
VardaValar1 (5:38:07 PM): Hail, friend of Phar's : )
ArPharazonV (5:38:08 PM): he can introduce himself, I suppose...
alwin0 (5:38:19 PM): nope and i'm brb got to patch windows
alwin0 (5:38:22 PM): (again)
VardaValar1 (5:38:27 PM): I feel for you
VardaValar1 (5:38:36 PM): May crash any second
ArPharazonV (5:38:53 PM): he's thinking about joining, so I suggested he'd visit
a meeting :-)
VardaValar1 (5:39:01 PM): Good idea
alwin0 (5:39:05 PM): well this is 200 but ...sassder worm...
alwin0 (5:39:09 PM): need protection ;-)
alwin0 (5:39:20 PM): 2000 i mean :-)

ArPharazonV (5:40:52 PM): I have the feeling this isn't really a typical
meeting, for him to witness :-)
(5:40:58 PM) FarmerMaggotV has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (5:41:01 PM): Aiya
FarmerMaggotV (5:41:05 PM): Aiya
VardaValar1 (5:43:05 PM): Aiya!
VardaValar1 (5:43:12 PM): It wasn't : )
ArPharazonV (5:43:22 PM): any further gaming news?
VardaValar1 (5:43:24 PM): He can read a transcript for a typical one
ArPharazonV (5:43:38 PM): or he can join again next week :-D
Eonwe Valar (5:43:52 PM): Typicaly meetings begin close rto 4 pm than 4:30 :}
VardaValar1 (5:44:10 PM): 5pm EST is the official time
Eonwe Valar (5:44:10 PM): 5 pm Eastern :}
VardaValar1 (5:44:19 PM): which is 4 here for Eonwe and me : )
ArPharazonV (5:44:31 PM): 23 pm NL
ArPharazonV (5:44:37 PM): eh....
VardaValar1 (5:44:42 PM): ouch
ArPharazonV (5:44:43 PM): 11pm
VardaValar1 (5:44:58 PM): Checking forum comments
ArPharazonV (5:45:00 PM): 23 in terms of 24hours
VardaValar1 (5:45:12 PM): Eonwe talking about the kinship house location
VardaValar1 (5:45:30 PM): Maybe we can set up north of Rivendell, west of
ArPharazonV (5:45:32 PM): Too Many ConnectionsThere are currently too many
connections to this server. Please check back again in 30 seconds.
VardaValar1 (5:45:48 PM): back up and try again very shortly, usually works
ArPharazonV (5:45:49 PM): ok, solved
ArPharazonV (5:46:15 PM): ok, it's settled then, South of Rivendell ;-)
VardaValar1 (5:46:26 PM): o boy
VardaValar1 (5:46:42 PM): North of Rivendell or I think we get cut off the map
Eonwe Valar (5:46:46 PM): How about we base ourselves in Aman? :}
(5:46:48 PM) alwin0 has entered the room.
VardaValar1 (5:46:53 PM): Aman sounds good : )
VardaValar1 (5:46:57 PM): Welcome back
Eonwe Valar (5:47:00 PM): wb :}
ArPharazonV (5:47:00 PM): Aiyata, Alw
alwin0 (5:47:08 PM): :-)
VardaValar1 (5:47:32 PM): We had a rather atypical meeting today, Alwin0, but at
least you got to meet a few of us : ) How went the windows?
alwin0 (5:47:55 PM): he is still working
alwin0 (5:48:12 PM): alway's a moment of cold shivers on you're back
alwin0 (5:48:25 PM): the windows logo with the very slow progress bar....
VardaValar1 (5:48:29 PM): My connection is slowing again, pardon if a sudden
alwin0 (5:48:53 PM): aslong as a reapearence follows :P
VardaValar1 (5:49:07 PM): :-)
FarmerMaggotV (5:49:29 PM): did I miss the whole meeting?
VardaValar1 (5:49:39 PM): We can't really be sure where our kinship house will
be until wemake it, but if we can do it more or less central, it should work
VardaValar1 (5:49:54 PM): Needs to be on the part for the first section, not
VardaValar1 (5:50:08 PM): We still seem to be here, so no : )
Eonwe Valar (5:50:09 PM): Which means West of the Misty Mountains
VardaValar1 (5:50:18 PM): Aye
ArPharazonV (5:50:44 PM): How about Hollin?
VardaValar1 (5:50:46 PM): Wow! 8th page on MeO
Eonwe Valar (5:52:23 PM): Yeah,.. the largest active thread and the second
largest still running thread :}
VardaValar1 (5:52:53 PM): Should we start a new one for a new Name Game?
ArPharazonV (5:52:59 PM): what's the largest still running? the trivia game?
VardaValar1 (5:53:24 PM): Might have a companion thread for it or post on the
first post with list
Eonwe Valar (5:53:30 PM): Yes, but trivia's been slow because no one new takes a
guess :}
Eonwe Valar (5:54:00 PM): Back to Varda's question though : new Name game
VardaValar1 (5:54:29 PM): Trivia game is a problem for me as I like to hit the
Eonwe Valar (5:54:43 PM): Would anyone here post to it if we did start it?
VardaValar1 (5:54:45 PM): Didn't we lock the old Name game thread and no new one
was made?
Eonwe Valar (5:55:12 PM): Yep, the old one was locked, and no one's said "Hey
let's start the name game back up!"
ArPharazonV (5:55:49 PM): we could try it, but do we start with a list of all
used names in the last thread, or do we start all over again?
VardaValar1 (5:56:27 PM): New
VardaValar1 (5:56:41 PM): I think they were waiting for it to show up again
ArPharazonV (5:57:12 PM): ok, so all names are available again, eh? sure, I'll
post on a regular basis
ArPharazonV (5:58:11 PM): perhaps we could start with such a list, but empty,
and then edit it once in a while to show what names we've already used
Eonwe Valar (5:59:15 PM): We would start with a list and we'd hold more to the
rules of the game: do not post a name that's already been used
VardaValar1 (5:59:29 PM): So, do silvan or Sindarin elves have any glow at all?
ArPharazonV (5:59:51 PM): apparently, they do, and if they don't, we're
exceptions :-)
VardaValar1 (5:59:57 PM): (Still looking at posts on forum, pardon)
Eonwe Valar (6:00:15 PM): It's not something every Silvan elf has
VardaValar1 (6:00:15 PM): Edit the first post showing names used, aye
VardaValar1 (6:00:31 PM): When would a glow occur?
Eonwe Valar (6:00:40 PM): Only the older ones because the fire of their spirits
has consumed their bodies longer
ArPharazonV (6:01:24 PM): or, in our 'well-rested' reststate, because our
spirits are most active then ;-)
Eonwe Valar (6:01:34 PM): the reason a Noldorin spirit burns (much?) brighter is
because of their stay in Aman
VardaValar1 (6:01:36 PM): On the flets, this was supposed to be an outlier, not
passing others, as it was for border guards. Sort of like a hunting cabin
Eonwe Valar (6:01:57 PM): oh, so no other flets?
Eonwe Valar (6:02:12 PM): I'll change that so it's Silvans in the trees :}
VardaValar1 (6:02:12 PM): Guess there are now : )
Eonwe Valar (6:02:29 PM): I assume the covered flet doesn't have walls?
VardaValar1 (6:02:29 PM): What are they doing way out there?
Eonwe Valar (6:02:38 PM): standing guard duty
VardaValar1 (6:02:41 PM): No walls, nice overhang
VardaValar1 (6:02:48 PM): Ah, so we see the guards
VardaValar1 (6:02:53 PM): That works
Eonwe Valar (6:02:55 PM): I assume some still stand watch over the path
ArPharazonV (6:04:35 PM): perhaps I could post something about our arrival at
the flet, or something
ArPharazonV (6:04:51 PM): the guards hailing us, us dismounting and settling
Eonwe Valar (6:05:18 PM): I think all Elve swould eventuallyhave some sort of
glow, once they've aged enough, due to the comments of the Sil about the fire of
their spirits consuming their bodies,.. and that they were more like the Ainur
in nature
VardaValar1 (6:05:43 PM): I am putting in a post now, I hope
Eonwe Valar (6:05:47 PM): hehe :}
ArPharazonV (6:05:58 PM): yes, it's there
VardaValar1 (6:06:33 PM): Ahh, it took a while, but went on. Good enough
VardaValar1 (6:06:55 PM): That's good to hear, Eonwe. I had been tossing the
idea back and forth
VardaValar1 (6:07:14 PM): I didn't see any mention of Legolas's glowing in the
dark, for instance
VardaValar1 (6:07:41 PM): Doesn't mean he didn't
VardaValar1 (6:07:50 PM): or maybe he kept it damped for their journey
Eonwe Valar (6:07:53 PM): There, removed the flets comment :}
ArPharazonV (6:07:54 PM): Gandalf never had to use his staff in Moria :-)
ArPharazonV (6:08:19 PM): Legolas provided enough light
Eonwe Valar (6:08:26 PM): Well, it would depend on Legolas' age first, and also
there was no Noldo on their journey :}
VardaValar1 (6:08:31 PM): Pretty cool when we can all work together on the posts
like this
ArPharazonV (6:08:37 PM): that's true...
Eonwe Valar (6:08:44 PM): Legolas might've given a soft light to Frodo if Frodo
had worn the Ring
VardaValar1 (6:08:47 PM): Legolas would have made a great target if he glowed
ArPharazonV (6:09:04 PM): can we consider this elf-glowing as our Tolkien topic
for the week?
VardaValar1 (6:09:06 PM): Neat idea, Eonwe : )
Eonwe Valar (6:09:17 PM): Noldor walk in both worlds at once, and so it's to be
assumed they see both worlds as well
VardaValar1 (6:09:25 PM): Sure, why not? : )
ArPharazonV (6:09:39 PM): Legolas did have Noldor-blood, didn't he?
VardaValar1 (6:09:40 PM): I would expect any elf from Valinor to glow
VardaValar1 (6:10:03 PM): I believe he did, Phar, but the reference escaped me
Eonwe Valar (6:10:04 PM): Indeed, as would I :}
VardaValar1 (6:10:13 PM): I had to pull it off the net until I could prove it
VardaValar1 (6:10:29 PM): and I've been doing Mythology page mostly since then
VardaValar1 (6:10:38 PM): a little on the Legolas article, but not much, sorry
VardaValar1 (6:11:03 PM): If anyone else would like to put up something on it,
would be great
alwin0 (6:11:10 PM): got to sleep.....
Eonwe Valar (6:11:17 PM): Here's one for discussion: Do Noldor see the "other
side" in the same way Frodo does when he wears the Ring?
ArPharazonV (6:11:23 PM): Namarie,
ArPharazonV (6:11:26 PM): Alwin
Eonwe Valar (6:11:28 PM): take care Alwin :}
VardaValar1 (6:11:32 PM): Namarie!
VardaValar1 (6:11:41 PM): Thanks for coming
alwin0 (6:11:42 PM): thanks :-)
VardaValar1 (6:11:50 PM): The dreaming thing you mentioned earllier
alwin0 (6:11:55 PM): I will gf is here too :D
VardaValar1 (6:12:04 PM): Hi to her too : )
alwin0 (6:12:21 PM): bye
alwin0 (6:12:22 PM): :-)
ArPharazonV (6:12:27 PM): bye
alwin0 (6:12:28 PM): or namarie :-)
VardaValar1 (6:12:29 PM): All the elves seemed to have the dreaming, where they
walk in the past and present at the same time
(6:12:39 PM) alwin0 has left the room.
VardaValar1 (6:12:53 PM): Namarie catches on quickly : )
Eonwe Valar (6:12:58 PM): :}
ArPharazonV (6:13:23 PM): I inserted it in my conversations with him on MSN
months ago ;-)
ArPharazonV (6:14:01 PM): Aiya, Namarie, and since our discovery of Irmo's
quenya page, Manenna and Nan mara
VardaValar1 (6:14:02 PM): ah cool : )
VardaValar1 (6:14:25 PM): I tried to make it easy to find, heh
VardaValar1 (6:14:27 PM): o well
VardaValar1 (6:14:44 PM): What would dwarves look like on the other side?
Eonwe Valar (6:15:00 PM): Well, hmm I don't think I saw "the dreaming" like that
VardaValar1 (6:15:06 PM): Hmm, Frodo saw Glorfindel as brightly shining white,
the others as shadow figures
ArPharazonV (6:15:10 PM): like a couple of packs, apparently
ArPharazonV (6:15:18 PM): no glowiness
Eonwe Valar (6:15:19 PM): lol Pharazon :}
VardaValar1 (6:15:20 PM): hehe
VardaValar1 (6:15:24 PM): shadow
ArPharazonV (6:15:30 PM): void
ArPharazonV (6:15:46 PM): vacuum of light
VardaValar1 (6:15:51 PM): Frodo saw Aragorn as a shadow, not a glow
Eonwe Valar (6:15:55 PM): That's another part of my theory
VardaValar1 (6:16:19 PM): Shadow in this case would probably not be the Void
ArPharazonV (6:16:43 PM): not The Void, but just void
Eonwe Valar (6:16:57 PM): Frodo saw clearly the wraiths because : a.) they were
on the other side, and b.) they were laid bare to the Ring, so that even their
cloaks were dimmed to him and he saw their old vestments ( I believe?)
ArPharazonV (6:16:58 PM): emptiness of light and, perhaps, matter
VardaValar1 (6:17:00 PM): void, as in null presence
ArPharazonV (6:17:22 PM): yes, complete nothingness
ArPharazonV (6:17:26 PM): that's how it could seem
VardaValar1 (6:17:33 PM): Frodo saw the spirit world, and the wraiths were
nothing but that
Eonwe Valar (6:18:09 PM): Aragorn and other mortals do not typically walk on
both sides
VardaValar1 (6:18:24 PM): So in our tale, Fainan and Calion would look like
shadows, so would Haran
VardaValar1 (6:18:30 PM): Aye, Eonwe
Eonwe Valar (6:18:37 PM): so their fea is "contained" by their body
ArPharazonV (6:18:41 PM): Fainan and Calion were not really mortals, weren't
VardaValar1 (6:18:44 PM): But wouldn't all the elves have some presence in the
other world?
ArPharazonV (6:18:54 PM): indeed
ArPharazonV (6:19:03 PM): and how old are we anyway?
VardaValar1 (6:19:04 PM): That is suggested by the way they dream
VardaValar1 (6:19:27 PM): I'm a young elf, as MeO says we will be when we start
as Elves.
ArPharazonV (6:19:40 PM): so, little glow
ArPharazonV (6:19:51 PM): I'd be one then as well
VardaValar1 (6:19:55 PM): Just a wee bit of glow if any
ArPharazonV (6:20:12 PM): a wee bit.... like that expression
VardaValar1 (6:20:18 PM): : )
Eonwe Valar (6:20:22 PM): Well, as I see it, since the Noldor see both sides at
once, I don't think they see the dimmed world Frodo does, but one that is in
what color that other world has,.. . however, since the fea is contained by the
body, he does not
ArPharazonV (6:20:35 PM): what's that? Scottish, Irish, Tex-ish?
Eonwe Valar (6:20:42 PM): simply see everyone's spirit, only those who have
begun to "show through"
VardaValar1 (6:20:49 PM): Irish, I'm 1/4
ArPharazonV (6:20:56 PM): cool
VardaValar1 (6:21:41 PM): The Noldor would have to be able to function in the
world, so it seems right that they would not see it dimmed
ArPharazonV (6:22:19 PM): they had double powers over both worlds, and both
worlds only half the power over them
VardaValar1 (6:22:22 PM): So Auros would see shades of brightness around Elves
Eonwe Valar (6:22:25 PM): so perhaps after his ordeal, Frodo would be seen as a
light in the other world
ArPharazonV (6:22:25 PM): or something like that
VardaValar1 (6:22:41 PM): Half the power, maybe explaining walking on snow?
ArPharazonV (6:22:55 PM): yes, probably
ArPharazonV (6:23:17 PM): and their hightened senses could be a result of their
double powers
VardaValar1 (6:23:26 PM): Aye, about Frodo. Gandalf was already seeing him in
Eonwe Valar (6:23:39 PM): Depends again on the age of the Elf from my current
VardaValar1 (6:23:44 PM): Double life, heh
VardaValar1 (6:24:11 PM): Aye, age of Elf, or how much they've been pushed into
it by circumstances, such as Frodo's
ArPharazonV (6:24:12 PM): double life... if the life of Arda is double life,
what would have been their normal lifespan?
Eonwe Valar (6:24:31 PM): The Elves? Eternity
VardaValar1 (6:24:32 PM): Frodo must have been startling, since he was a hobbit,
but showed in the otherworld
ArPharazonV (6:24:42 PM): so, that makes sense
Eonwe Valar (6:24:42 PM): true
VardaValar1 (6:25:00 PM): The life of Elves was hooked to the "life" of Arda,
its time
ArPharazonV (6:25:06 PM): Eternity x2 is Eternity... at least the age of Arda
Eonwe Valar (6:25:33 PM): well, not eternity then but indertiminable by wee
mortals :}
VardaValar1 (6:25:40 PM): Arda will be destroyed in the Last Battle, and
re-made. That might do interesting things to the life hookup of Elves
VardaValar1 (6:25:44 PM): hehe
Eonwe Valar (6:26:20 PM): Interesting that even the Ents were merely long-lived,
but seemingly not immortal
VardaValar1 (6:26:24 PM): By double life, I meant one in the material and one in
the non-physical
ArPharazonV (6:26:46 PM): oh....
VardaValar1 (6:26:49 PM): The Ents were of Arda, more like humans and critters
and trees
Eonwe Valar (6:26:53 PM): true
VardaValar1 (6:27:16 PM): Arathorn, you there?
Eonwe Valar (6:27:28 PM): perhaps young Elves would merely appear as themselves
on both sides
ArPharazonV (6:27:35 PM): and yet, Treebeard claims to be one of the earliest
creatures of Arda
Eonwe Valar (6:27:56 PM): Arathorn said he had to do something at the beginning
of the meeting,.. will keep an eye on the account though
VardaValar1 (6:27:58 PM): Treebeard was, but that does not change anything
VardaValar1 (6:28:05 PM): Thanks
VardaValar1 (6:28:14 PM): Was curious if he was about to answer my post : )
Eonwe Valar (6:28:31 PM): :}
VardaValar1 (6:29:15 PM): Did anyone invite people to the chat?
Eonwe Valar (6:29:27 PM): I did,.. everyone on my buddy list that was on
VardaValar1 (6:29:28 PM): I see a batch of them not in here, maybe afk
Eonwe Valar (6:29:37 PM): and I've heard no open doors except when you came in
VardaValar1 (6:29:38 PM): okie dokie
ArPharazonV (6:29:52 PM): most of them are 'away'
VardaValar1 (6:30:02 PM): Wow, internet still up!
VardaValar1 (6:30:08 PM): Some kind of record, even if slow
FarmerMaggotV (6:30:11 PM): heh
ArPharazonV (6:30:12 PM): it's a miracle
ArPharazonV (6:30:19 PM): and that too
ArPharazonV (6:30:28 PM): a response of somebody else but us three
Eonwe Valar (6:30:29 PM): SBC doesn't want us coming down there :}
FarmerMaggotV (6:30:40 PM): I got D2 (and the expansion) thursday :D
VardaValar1 (6:30:46 PM): Congrats!
Eonwe Valar (6:30:50 PM): congrats :}
VardaValar1 (6:31:03 PM): Have you gotten to play with any guild buddies yet?
FarmerMaggotV (6:31:08 PM): nope
VardaValar1 (6:31:17 PM): Might want to run through Baal on single player first
FarmerMaggotV (6:31:18 PM): I was playing in the guild game though
FarmerMaggotV (6:31:33 PM): I'm running through single player pretty well, almost
done act 2
ArPharazonV (6:31:50 PM): Ok, it's settled then: at this time there are 3
computergame(set)s I want to purchase: one of them is the Diablo Battlechest
VardaValar1 (6:31:57 PM): I hope to have this mess repaired and come play with
you sometime : )
ArPharazonV (6:32:32 PM): once that chest is in my possession, you can expect me
on D2x as well
Eonwe Valar (6:32:35 PM): afk for a moment,.. getting a drink
VardaValar1 (6:32:37 PM): Diablo is where it all started
VardaValar1 (6:32:42 PM): That would be great : )
FarmerMaggotV (6:32:46 PM): yeah :-)
VardaValar1 (6:32:47 PM): good idea
ArPharazonV (6:32:57 PM): the other 2 are of course: WoW,
VardaValar1 (6:32:59 PM): *coffee cup is empty!*
FarmerMaggotV (6:33:09 PM): ew :P
ArPharazonV (6:33:31 PM): and the morrowind Goty edition... then I'll have
anything I could possibly want... for now
FarmerMaggotV (6:33:44 PM): All I want is a faster computer heh
VardaValar1 (6:33:45 PM): hehe
VardaValar1 (6:33:48 PM): Always more
VardaValar1 (6:34:01 PM): We upgraded just in time to be clobbered by viruses
ArPharazonV (6:34:02 PM): that could be useful too, especially for WoW
FarmerMaggotV (6:34:02 PM): had to turn down every single graphics option there was
FarmerMaggotV (6:34:08 PM): and it's still a bit laggy
VardaValar1 (6:34:19 PM): Sounds familiar
ArPharazonV (6:34:36 PM): so, you just get blurry characters, no lightings, no
shadows, gridlines, etc etc?
FarmerMaggotV (6:34:44 PM): nah, it's not blurry
VardaValar1 (6:34:46 PM): You probably need a new chip
FarmerMaggotV (6:34:53 PM): ya just get pixelated shadows
FarmerMaggotV (6:35:10 PM): yeah, my ATI Rage 128 is a bit old
FarmerMaggotV (6:35:38 PM): but mom's said that if I get a 93 or higher overall
average next year that she'll buy me a new computer
ArPharazonV (6:35:44 PM): in a completely unrelated topic:
ArPharazonV (6:35:55 PM): has anybody ever heard of 8-bit theatre?
VardaValar1 (6:35:56 PM): I would study like crazy : )
FarmerMaggotV (6:36:10 PM): 8-bit theatre?
ArPharazonV (6:36:42 PM): yes, a series of small comics, started a few years
ago, and still being added to
ArPharazonV (6:37:07 PM): based on Everquest, or another of those MMORPG's
ArPharazonV (6:37:21 PM): or MMORPG's in general
ArPharazonV (6:37:32 PM): at 415 episodes now
ArPharazonV (6:37:37 PM): each one a page long
ArPharazonV (6:38:18 PM): I discovered it 2 days ago, have spent all day
yesterday reading all of them, and I love it...
Eonwe Valar (6:38:19 PM): back,.. brought a snack too "
Eonwe Valar (6:38:20 PM): :}
VardaValar1 (6:38:46 PM): mmmm, snack.
ArPharazonV (6:39:07 PM): they're great, especially when read in order with
small intervals of resting :-D
VardaValar1 (6:39:11 PM): Please email me the URL.
VardaValar1 (6:39:15 PM): hehe
ArPharazonV (6:39:27 PM):
ArPharazonV (6:39:29 PM): why email?
ArPharazonV (6:40:00 PM): check the latest strip, you can scroll somewhat from
there, or visit the archive for a complete listing with links
Eonwe Valar (6:40:01 PM): easier to update from
VardaValar1 (6:40:06 PM): You want me to write that down and hope to find the
address when working on pages?
ArPharazonV (6:40:18 PM): oh, ok, I'll mail it....
VardaValar1 (6:40:19 PM): It's much easier when working web pages
VardaValar1 (6:40:25 PM): Thanks
VardaValar1 (6:40:38 PM): Now if the email will work when I get back over there!
Eonwe Valar (6:40:47 PM): e-mail makes a great way to keep track on updates,..
even if it's missed, you have to sift through e-mail eventually anyway to toss
or save the old stuff, so it'll get found :}
VardaValar1 (6:40:56 PM): Right!
VardaValar1 (6:41:10 PM): Fellow web-weaver here understands : )
ArPharazonV (6:41:16 PM): that's true... but it's not really guild or blizzard
related, you know...
ArPharazonV (6:41:52 PM): so I don't know where you'd put it :-D
VardaValar1 (6:42:23 PM): Ever look at our Links page? : )
VardaValar1 (6:42:30 PM): It's got an awful lot of topics
ArPharazonV (6:43:08 PM): well, got a point there
VardaValar1 (6:43:10 PM): I make new categories according to guild member
VardaValar1 (6:44:16 PM): And maybe it won't fit. I'll take a look
VardaValar1 (6:44:26 PM): We do have an EverQuesters' page
ArPharazonV (6:45:36 PM): ah I see... based more on Final Fantasy
ArPharazonV (6:45:45 PM): makes more sense, I suppose, that way
VardaValar1 (6:45:52 PM): We play everything online : )
ArPharazonV (6:46:01 PM): is FF online?
ArPharazonV (6:46:12 PM): Q: Why 8-Bit Theater? A: I've always loved the
original FF and 8-bit games in general. I think they capture an element, a
certain something most of today's games don't.
VardaValar1 (6:46:13 PM): number 11, I think
ArPharazonV (6:46:24 PM): the original FF, 8-bit
Eonwe Valar (6:46:30 PM): yeah, FFXI is online
ArPharazonV (6:46:31 PM): I doubt that's online
(6:46:34 PM) HuanofValar has entered the room.
ArPharazonV (6:46:52 PM): but you never know who likes it, right :-)
Eonwe Valar (6:46:58 PM): Heya Huan :}
VardaValar1 (6:47:00 PM): 11 is online, I believe. A Tolkien-only member is
trying to get me to play it
VardaValar1 (6:47:00 PM): Aiya Huan!
FarmerMaggotV (6:47:02 PM): Aiya
Eonwe Valar (6:47:05 PM): btw, news from the EA front
ArPharazonV (6:47:21 PM): I'm talking about the original FF games.... those in
ArPharazonV (6:47:24 PM): but, go ahead
Eonwe Valar (6:48:14 PM): seems they're bringing out an RTS game based on the
movies,.. interesting, since Sierra already brought out an RTS based on the
books,.. I think that's a bit,.. well insert your own adjective :}
ArPharazonV (6:48:56 PM): oh, btw, Aiya, Huan
VardaValar1 (6:49:00 PM): Licensing problems, read a bit about that
HuanofValar (6:49:03 PM): Aiya
ArPharazonV (6:49:49 PM): "you should be able to enjoy 8-bit theater even if
you've never played FF1, or any game from the series for that matter." Well,
that applies for me :-)
Eonwe Valar (6:50:30 PM): Well, seeing as their RotK game for X-box has bugs, I
am torn between buying something as a collector and buying it to actually play
it,.. not that they care why I buy it,..
ArPharazonV (6:51:06 PM): I'm a purely PC-player... I can't even find TT in the
stores for that
VardaValar1 (6:51:13 PM): hehe
VardaValar1 (6:52:19 PM): I have a tendency to collect things just because
they're Tolkien.The movie made so much stuff come out that I had to back off
quite abit.
Eonwe Valar (6:52:57 PM): I collect some stuff, but don't have room for it all
so I have to be picky :}
VardaValar1 (6:53:17 PM): aye : )
ArPharazonV (6:53:29 PM): I don't collect much, you know... just the original
books, the dvd's and the occasional game
Eonwe Valar (6:53:32 PM): I wanted to get the Wall scroll map of Middle-Earth,
but couldn't find it when I finally got the money
VardaValar1 (6:53:36 PM): Anyone else here attempt to read LotR fanfic?
VardaValar1 (6:53:59 PM): Maybe the map could be found online?
ArPharazonV (6:54:08 PM): yes, I've got a wall-map as well, still not hanging on
the wall though....
Eonwe Valar (6:54:28 PM): I read what we have, and I read some of what someone
we have linked to us has, but other than that no
VardaValar1 (6:54:30 PM): The Valar guild fanfic is exceptional, after looking
over some of the others.
VardaValar1 (6:55:00 PM): but there are some good ones out there too
Eonwe Valar (6:56:10 PM): Remember the necklace Tom takes from the Barrow
treasure? i read one that puts that woman as the wife of Angmar, who apparently
in this version was a blacksmith making rings, if I recall correctly
ArPharazonV (6:56:25 PM): well, anyway, if we have a few FF1 fans, I'll mail the
link... expect a mail every minute now
ArPharazonV (6:56:31 PM): :-)
Eonwe Valar (6:57:59 PM): Our is the best I've read really, mostly because we
stay truer to the source in my opinion :}
ArPharazonV (7:03:01 PM): check your mail :-)
Eonwe Valar (7:03:17 PM): me or Varda?
ArPharazonV (7:03:22 PM): Varda
GwaihirValar (7:03:47 PM): back
Eonwe Valar (7:04:09 PM): wb :}
GwaihirValar (7:04:16 PM): thx
Eonwe Valar (7:04:25 PM): Eagles don't glow at all :}
ArPharazonV (7:04:26 PM): Aiyata
ArPharazonV (7:04:37 PM): perhaps Elthoron do :-)
Eonwe Valar (7:04:46 PM): hehe :}
(7:07:24 PM) VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV (7:07:47 PM): well, bye bye connection
Eonwe Valar (7:07:50 PM): looks like her internet finally attacked,..
GwaihirValar (7:08:08 PM): nah... I just scared her off ;-)
ArPharazonV (7:08:21 PM): looks like it was attacking all along... and now they
have the victory
ArPharazonV (7:09:08 PM): and Gwaihir was just the key to that victory
ArPharazonV (7:09:14 PM): the Trojan Eagle
Eonwe Valar (7:10:23 PM): and now he lands and armies of micro-orcs climb from
baskets on his back
ArPharazonV (7:11:11 PM): and burning off the city of Varda's pc and killing all
ArPharazonV (7:11:44 PM): of the pc that is, not the house
GwaihirValar (7:12:13 PM): lol
GwaihirValar (7:12:18 PM): *chuckles*
Eonwe Valar (7:12:30 PM): If I didn't know better I'd saythis guy in my Sunday
comics has a shirt that says "Gandalf Lives' on its back
ArPharazonV (7:12:44 PM): heheh
Eonwe Valar (7:13:04 PM): it's missing the "lf" but I think I can assume safely
ArPharazonV (7:14:05 PM): Gwaihir leaves the city, boasting that the Valar had
nothing to do with his victory, and they punish him by having him or whatever... for many a year
ArPharazonV (7:14:31 PM): lost on the endless webpages of the internet, sounds
GwaihirValar (7:15:00 PM): lost in Shelob's world wide web? ;-)
ArPharazonV (7:15:13 PM): could be
ArPharazonV (7:15:31 PM): or the last traces of Ungoliant's evil deeds
ArPharazonV (7:15:49 PM): webs of darkness
Eonwe Valar (7:15:49 PM): if Shelob's weaved a web as wide as the world, we
better whet our weapons and wack those webbings :}
ArPharazonV (7:16:25 PM): how can you defeat the pure darkness with normal
ArPharazonV (7:16:41 PM): only light is it's weakness, yet also it's prey
Eonwe Valar (7:16:55 PM): AM I not a Vala? I don't weild "normal" weapons :}
ArPharazonV (7:17:11 PM): yes, I realise you possess weapons of light
ArPharazonV (7:17:25 PM): but are they enough to rid the entire world of
(7:17:46 PM) GwaihirValar has left the room.
ArPharazonV (7:17:47 PM): the Darkness which has been weaved all around,
absorbing Light itself?
ArPharazonV (7:18:16 PM): or is it 'woven'?
Eonwe Valar (7:18:28 PM): I only dfeal with the big ones,.. it's the job of
Mankind to take care of the "little fish" :} Ungolaints and Saurons fine, but
orcs you've gotta stop :}
ArPharazonV (7:18:47 PM): tell that to Varda's pc :-)
(7:18:50 PM) HuanofValar has left the room.
Eonwe Valar (7:18:50 PM): if Shelob wants toi take a bite out of my swords,
she's welcome to try :} I feed it to her point first :}
ArPharazonV (7:19:16 PM): it appears the meeting's over
FarmerMaggotV (7:19:24 PM): I guess heh
ArPharazonV (7:19:49 PM): lurking, you maggot?
FarmerMaggotV (7:19:59 PM): yep
Eonwe Valar (7:20:06 PM): It's been over,.. we're in After-Meeting, the longest
part of the meeting :}
ArPharazonV (7:20:25 PM): which is dying out as well
Eonwe Valar (7:21:44 PM): That's ok,.. everyone is free to come and go at their
leisure :}
ArPharazonV (7:28:28 PM): oh, and one of the best things about 8-bit theatres:
415 page-long episodes, and no plot-holes whatsoever!
ArPharazonV (7:28:44 PM): now that's dedication and intelligence...
Eonwe Valar (7:29:18 PM): hehe, I'll stick to books then,.. that'll take me too
long to read :}
ArPharazonV (7:29:38 PM): ah come on.... it only took me about 10 hours in total
ArPharazonV (7:29:42 PM): :-)
Eonwe Valar (7:31:55 PM): That's an entire week of internet time for me :}
ArPharazonV (7:33:28 PM): well, 10 hours in total, and including sleeping eating
morrowind-ing and other activities, let's say.... 26 hours from beginning to end
FarmerMaggotV (7:33:35 PM): I
FarmerMaggotV (7:33:42 PM): I'm on from 6am to 8 pm on weekends =D
ArPharazonV (7:34:14 PM): on weekends, and holidays, from 2/3 pm to 3/4 am
Eonwe Valar (7:34:28 PM): lucky you :}
FarmerMaggotV (7:34:39 PM): yeah, you can get a lot done w/ no life :P
Eonwe Valar (7:34:58 PM): I remember when I didn't have one.. was a bit more
relaxing but I couldn't pay for anything :}
FarmerMaggotV (7:35:23 PM): heh, I get allowance (for doing chores all week)
ArPharazonV (7:35:32 PM): yes, that would be 27 hours: midnight friday/saturday
to 3am last night
ArPharazonV (7:35:57 PM): around midnight that I started reading them
ArPharazonV (7:36:06 PM): last night I finished episode 415
Eonwe Valar (7:36:25 PM): congrats :}
ArPharazonV (7:37:08 PM): and now it's waiting for the next episode, 1 added
every 2 or 3 days
ArPharazonV (7:37:22 PM): 415 got added yesterday
Eonwe Valar (7:41:29 PM): Well, I'll be heading out now :} have to shift around
some stuff :}
FarmerMaggotV (7:41:36 PM): namarie
Eonwe Valar (7:41:41 PM): take care :}
ArPharazonV (7:41:44 PM): well, I'm going as well, at least for some time
ArPharazonV (7:41:47 PM): Namarie, Eonwe
(7:41:51 PM) Eonwe Valar has left the room.
ArPharazonV (7:42:05 PM): maybe see ya later, Farmer, going to walk the dog
FarmerMaggotV (7:42:08 PM): namarie
FarmerMaggotV (7:52:07 PM): Well, it's time for me to
FarmerMaggotV (7:52:09 PM): Namarie
(7:52:16 PM) FarmerMaggotV has left the room.
