ArPharazonV: haven't heard from him since
MaglorV: ahh, yeah
ArPharazonV: but hey, it's a bit membership

VardaValar1: Any day we can get together works!
Orodreth V: If I dissappear it's becasue the new LS theme I just got is bad.
Orodreth V: I'll try not to reboot, though.
Orodreth V: Litestep. Replacement shell for Windows. litestep.com
ArPharazonV: had the dwarf already said his name?
ElatanValar: Does any of you in here have experience with a online rl chatprogram called Ventrilo ?
Orodreth V: Free. And it's not nearly as bad a meory hog.

VardaValar1: Let's finish inviting
Orodreth V: Intuition works!

Orodreth V: Oooo. It even has a find app.
musics4me2: I updated (most) of my website, but I lost a substantial
portion of my quotes collection, so stop by and click the quotes
section and on the left is a submit quote link :-)

VardaValar1: Not sure Gelmir's coming in (ShaggyJoe)
ArathornValar: ok... it's a single .MHT file (just open it in a web browser)
ArPharazonV: Ok, back
ArPharazonV: Aiya everyone
VardaValar1: Welcome back! Posted?
ArPharazonV: I made this the shortest post yet, for 2 reasons:
ArPharazonV: 1: I don't want to miss much of the meeting
ArPharazonV: 2: With so much interaction, long posts are getting more
and more inefficient, unless we use a lot of descriptive narrative
Gamatzgamatz: is this post at meo?
MeneldilValar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Posts just need to be the length that handles what we're doing, whether long or one word. np
VardaValar1: Aiya Meneldil!
Gamatzgamatz: ooo where is it???
MeneldilValar: Aiya, all!
ArathornValar: an extention (.mht) basically a single web page file that holds all the info of a web page (graphics included).
musics4me2: it fairly standard?
MeneldilValar: Can't stay, once again -- just wanted to say hello.
ArPharazonV: http://valarguild.proboards22.com/index. cgi?board=MEORP&action=display&n um=1079655755

Orodreth V: I'll get in as soon as I finish up playing with this.
ThorondorV: Heya Menel
VardaValar1: We're getting together
VardaValar1: The game won't be out until the end of the year
Gamatzgamatz: did ne of u get accepted to wow beta?
ArPharazonV: 18 present, and 3 new names in my buddy list.. cool
ArPharazonV: not me, unfortunately
MaglorV: nor I
Gamatzgamatz: same here :-(
ArPharazonV: still have to wait for the European beta :-)
GwaihirValar: not as yet... don't really care all that much though lol
ArPharazonV: whose our only hope? Eonwe?
VardaValar1: Ok, let's go ahead and start formally before we finish the meeting?
VardaValar1: Probably Eonwe :-)
VardaValar1: Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo
Eonwe Valar: Still got mine crossed for getting in at some point :}
Eonwe Valar: *my fingers :}

VardaValar1: People never cease to amaze me
VardaValar1: Where at?
GwaihirValar: aye, he was on a little while ago
Gamatzgamatz: tolkien brings us all together...
VardaValar1: Can we drag him in?
VardaValar1: Very true!
ArPharazonV: I was playing a game of war3 at the moment, only discovered his greeting when he was offline again....
GwaihirValar: nope, he still has no power
VardaValar1: ouch, okie dokie
VardaValar1: Web News:
GwaihirValar: Tolkien brings us together... Oceans seperate us ;-)
musics4me2: And time zones!
ArPharazonV: sooo nice to live in Europe...
VardaValar1: Computers ignore oceans and bring us together anyway
ArPharazonV: time zones keep us apart then
VardaValar1: *must brag on Texas*
musics4me2: Nasty little things time zones are :P
ArPharazonV: which are so distanced because of the oceans
ArPharazonV: therefore, oceans keep us apart
GwaihirValar: *laughs* Aw well, I live in the best city in the world... whether I brag about it or not :-)
VardaValar1: Tolkien Encyclopedia: much news
VardaValar1: That was a brag ;-)
GwaihirValar: It certainly was
GwaihirValar: hence the whether :-)
VardaValar1: Poetry page:
VardaValar1: Two poems:
Orodreth V: Farmer: Would you mind setting your text to defualt instead of manual-black? Black-on-black is hard to read..
VardaValar1: both by our new Manik Raina-TV
VardaValar1: Um, I have black text on white background, not sure how to mess with it
ElatanValar: dont Varda, dont
musics4me2: Orodreth: this happen to be any better (I'm not on an official AIM client so no clue)
VardaValar1: "Downfall of Darkness Commences" from the good guys' side
VardaValar1: "The Ruinous Thoughts of the Orc Master" from the bad guys' side
VardaValar1: Story Page:
VardaValar1: The whole site is revamped
VardaValar1: This at the cost of silly things like sleeping ;-)
ArPharazonV: what exactly does 'revamp' mean literally?
VardaValar1: Each story has it's own page
VardaValar1: Navigation redesigned
VardaValar1: Stories by author, each author with his own page
ArPharazonV: sorry, knew I said it wrong... where does the term 'vamp' or 'revamp' come from?
Gamatzgamatz: sorry guys but i gotta go to a christening sorry for leaving so early...
Gamatzgamatz: byeee and namarie
VardaValar1: Authors also getting links to Poetry and Articles
ArPharazonV: Namarie Thranduil, have fun :-)

VardaValar1: T.J.-(TV) sent in his entire Map site
VardaValar1: It is in several languages, including English
VardaValar1: He's working on two more languages
VardaValar1: (Still no Path!)
VardaValar1: Links Page:
VardaValar1: New fanfic site, really good one
VardaValar1: Henneth Annun
Orodreth V: I can personally reccommend that.
VardaValar1: the Henneth Annun Writers Group got together to make a super site worked on by many folk
VardaValar1: All sorts of Tolkien fiction, not just one or two characters
Xseanzee disco: i gotta get goin, Namarie all.
VardaValar1: thanks, Orodreth :-)
VardaValar1: Namarie, Gil
Xseanzee disco has left the room.
GwaihirValar: afk for a short while, dinner time
VardaValar1: D2X Ladder page dressed up a wee bit, more color
VardaValar1: Badly in need of your email update!
VardaValar1: I have been doing so much web work, haven
VardaValar1: 't been on D2X to pick up updates personally
Orodreth V: I'll be afk a bit..looking for the e-mail of the K-Gnome
theme author..it screwed up my system..took me over an hour to fix..
VardaValar1: The MeO rp is running strong right now
VardaValar1: on our forum
VardaValar1: Lurk at will
VardaValar1: It's been tougher than expected, but thanks to post editing, we are doing ok :-)
VardaValar1: Phar, you had some links?
VardaValar1: Go ahead when ready
ArPharazonV: to some pages of www.moviemistakes.com
ArPharazonV: http://www.moviemistakes.com/film1778 is for the Fellowship mistakes
ArPharazonV: http://www.moviemistakes.com/film2638 for the TT
ArPharazonV: http://www.moviemistakes.com/film2746 is for RotK
ArPharazonV: very cool, never knew they had so many small mistakes in them
VardaValar1: The big ones were enough ;-)
VardaValar1: But overall, I think we got our money's worth
VardaValar1: *ducks thrown tomatoes*
VardaValar1: Any other web news?
ArPharazonV: some are actually hilarious, some are a little bit
whiny... like the changes of Gandalf's ponytail at a series of
ElatanValar: agreed save the silly sequenses with legolas acting like batman on a Mumakil and the dead army.
VardaValar1: heh, or the brooch switching sides when they decide to change the direction of a shot
ArPharazonV: and Legolas's quiver actually passing through the Mumakil's side in a scene
ArPharazonV: and dozens of swords switching hands
ArathornValar: ahh the wonders of CGI <sigh>
ArPharazonV: and blood disappearing and appearing
musics4me2: See, with a book you just don't get that, you get people leaving rooms without you remembering :P
ElatanValar: and what I find most annoying - no one EVER says : I gotta pee, wait a minute :-)
VardaValar1: Any other web news, o web weavers?
ArPharazonV: I swear, these guys are actually spending all their time watching frame by frame...
ArPharazonV: some even admit it
ArathornValar: Added a couple of uniques to the D2X page today
VardaValar1: Do you really wnat to know when they need to go, Eonwe? :-)
VardaValar1: ah, thanks Arathorn
VardaValar1: Anyone else?
ArathornValar: Oh, Wanted to know how FM's program is going...
ArathornValar: was testing it out a bit for him few days ago
VardaValar1: How is it going, Farmer?
ElatanValar: naa but it is funny :-) hey wait up. Legolas is sitting in the bushes , anyone got an old scroll they dont use ?
ArPharazonV: we could use such parts in the RPG :-D
ArathornValar: Seems soemkeystroes are not coming out.... most are tho
ArathornValar: er.. keystrokes that is
musics4me2: It's going well... not too far. Still have to sit down and think REAL hard on the logic
VardaValar1: Arathorn, which program?
ArathornValar: A small one he sent that tests the keystrokes in windows
musics4me2: He's talking about something I threw together in 15 min for a friend of mine
musics4me2: but my above comment was about the encyc :-)
VardaValar1: Oh, reminds me, added a spot for non-web programming on the forum like you asked
musics4me2: I noticed :-)
ArathornValar: lemme know if you need moresting then, FM
musics4me2: actually, yeah I could use some testing :-)
VardaValar1: What do you need us to do to test the Encyclopedia search?
VardaValar1: Just use it?
musics4me2: I just need arathorn to help me test the UI
VardaValar1: Okie dokie, I am glad to volunteer Arathorn!
VardaValar1: Gaming News:
VardaValar1: I don't have any, except for need of updates for ladder page
ArPharazonV: Oh, P.S.: those links I gave are updated every once in a
while, so please, if you like them, check them now and again, instead
of looking once
VardaValar1: Anyone else?
ArPharazonV: WoW BETa
VardaValar1: Thans, Phar
ArPharazonV: The Beta definitely should be mentioned
ArPharazonV: It started this week
MeneldilValar: I have a piece of interesting news too -- a good price for WC3 and Diablo Battlechests on Amazon.com -,-
ArPharazonV: really? still trying to find the Diablo Battlechests in stores in my area :-)
VardaValar1: We're bound to have guys in the Beta. They tend to disappear
VardaValar1: What price? And Amazon.com is in all areas : )
ArPharazonV: but anyway, even if nobody got in the Beta, much information is spread onto the web
MeneldilValar: WC3 + Expansion and Diablo, Diablo II + Expansion for $60.
ArPharazonV: and a whole new site is being built up, with lots of information present and coming
MoriFinwe: thats not so good :-(
MeneldilValar: That seems good to me.. so good, it made me buy it. :P
VardaValar1: So do we have anyone who wants to collect the info?
MeneldilValar: Oh, it isn't/
musics4me2 has left the room.
MoriFinwe: i bought mine for 40
musics4me2 has entered the room.
musics4me2: **closed wrong window**
MeneldilValar: It's two chests for 60.
MoriFinwe: o well nevermind then
ArPharazonV: visit the guide for class and other gaming info
VardaValar1: (Whisper me Tolkien topics)
VardaValar1: Is anyone on B.net to remind our buddies to drop by here?
ArPharazonV: http://www.worldofwar.net/ also, this one and it's subsites hold excellent info, much renewed since the beta
MoriFinwe: im on bnet
Orodreth V: I saw D2 chest for $50 in a store. I still can't get D2, no
matter how hard I try, and it's not worth the risk sneaking it past
ArPharazonV: does anyone know where to find Hellfire?
ElatanValar: Time for leaving. Nighty all, happy gaming or whereever you will go.
ArPharazonV: Namarie then
VardaValar1: Good night
VardaValar1: We have a person wishing tested on Bnet
ElatanValar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: really? this guild get's bigger every day...
VardaValar1: That's why we dump around 40 a year
VardaValar1: Welcome back
GwaihirValar: Thank you :-)
VardaValar1: Any other Gaming News?
ArathornValar: Half Life 2 is out... have to see if I can find it next month
VardaValar1: My kids will want it
ArathornValar: Course Turg isn't here so...
GwaihirValar: HL2? Blech... :-(
GwaihirValar: another first person shooter marring the character of computer gaming...
ArathornValar: Apparently there is supposed to be an SP version of Counter Strike too...not sure about it tho
ArathornValar: Bah! <shakes head at Gwaihir...>
GwaihirValar: Bah! *shakes head at Arathorn* foolish mortals... ;-)
ArathornValar: Depends on how you play the game
ArPharazonV: with cheats or without...
GwaihirValar: I just don't like first person shooters... lol
ArathornValar: Actually, played the NOLF2 demo... like the stealth
VardaValar1: We play the ones we like and let others play the rest, np : )
MeneldilValar: Have to go, all.. won't be able to make it at all next
Sunday.. :/ Hope to play with some of you in Diablo/WC starting Friday.
MeneldilValar has left the room.
ArathornValar: You need to let your imagination flow, Gwai! Let it float like you do on your wings!
ArPharazonV: so much for a Namarie back...
VardaValar1: Any further News of any sort, suggestions, comments?
GwaihirValar: I did Arathorn, that's why I don't like first person shooters... I find them too confining to my imagination
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Farmer
musics4me2: I would love for people to submit quotes
to my website :-) They don't have to be tolkien related (but I have
somewhat of a lack of those). http://joe.wonderwarp.com/ and on the
quotes page is a submit quotes link
VardaValar1: what is the theme of your quote page?
musics4me2: Anything, but I only have a few tolkien ones
ArPharazonV: do they require humor?
musics4me2: But Tolkien ones are fun to read :-)
VardaValar1: Might make a section for Tolkien and we could use it as part of our Tolkien site
ArPharazonV: Do you have the Gandalf-Frodo speech yet?
GwaihirValar: which one... they talked a lot ;-)(
musics4me2: I was actually thinking of putting them into sections :-)
MoriFinwe: I gtg Namarie
suilenroc01 has left the room.
VardaValar1: We have a test to give in Bnet
ArPharazonV: about some deserving life and some deserving death... can you give it to them?
VardaValar1: But would like to start the Tolkien chat up first
MoriFinwe has left the room.
VardaValar1: The quotes could help there
ArPharazonV: or: A wizard is never late, he arrives precisely when he means too
VardaValar1: Maglor has a topic
VardaValar1: Maglor, could you give your topic?
VardaValar1: I need someone to help me save the transcript
MaglorV: Wat is everyone's view on the gaining popularity of Tolkien's works?
MaglorV: i have the transcript from the start
musics4me2: I do to (Till the bridge crashes :P)
ArPharazonV: I do too
VardaValar1: The movies made a huge jump in awareness, spiking with each movie and then dropping
ArPharazonV: with 2 sentences more than Maglor :-D
musics4me2: But then you have people who think they know what they're saying but it's wrong w/ the book
VardaValar1: My fellow Yahoo Tolkien chat heads (Tolkien Senate) notice it strongly
VardaValar1: They also say the movie people are a bit of a pain : )
VardaValar1: The movie people seem more temporary
Eonwe Valar: There's a Tolkien Senate?
VardaValar1: Also, many jumps up in fanfic
VardaValar1: Just for heads of Tolkien Yahoo sites
VardaValar1: It's not very active
VardaValar1: but they made some comments relevant to this discussion, so you get them here : )
VardaValar1: What brought on your comment, Maglor?
ArPharazonV: The popularity of the movies does make more readers, doesn't it?
MaglorV: The popularity among people who know nothing of the books but talk as if they know everything Tolkien
VardaValar1: I think it's good that awareness has been so increased
musics4me2: My friend saw the first movie, then read the books, then read the hobbit, then saw the other movies :-)
VardaValar1: And you bumped into this where, Maglor?
ArPharazonV: I read Lotr, the Hobbit, the Silm, Unfinished Tales, saw
the movies and read the Histories, those last two things intertwined
MaglorV: everywhere, lots of people i have heard talk about it, though they only know the movies
MaglorV: bugs me a little
VardaValar1: You mean people you meet in real life?
MaglorV: mainly, though online as well
ArPharazonV: ignore them: they don't speak about Tolkien, just about PJ
MaglorV: haha, true
Eonwe Valar: It happens in many other aspects of interest as well :}
ArPharazonV: 'you know not of what you speak' is that a quote?
Eonwe Valar: some people experience just a handful of a deep and diverse subject and automaticalyy assume themselves experts :}
VardaValar1: or encourage them to read
ArPharazonV: just need to find out who said it...
VardaValar1: As they go into withdrawal from no more movies, they need the books
ArPharazonV: 'read? why? I already know the story'
VardaValar1: I see the fanfic quality go weird as they use the movieverse
VardaValar1: yeah right
Orodreth V has left the room.
MaglorV: Tre, that is the best course of action in that case. But then you have the people who hate to read
Orodreth V has entered the room.
Eonwe Valar: Their loss :}
ArPharazonV: I hope they go into withdrawal... the only ones remaining will be the book-readers
ArPharazonV: and before you know it, problem solved
VardaValar1: Remember when we finished the books and there were no more!!!
VardaValar1: I'm still in shock
ArPharazonV: I've already read 18, still not done...
Orodreth V has left the room.
VardaValar1: It was long enough ago for me that there wasn't even much other fantasy
VardaValar1: The inutterable horror
ArPharazonV: ah yes, the early years of my life, when I did not know Tolkien...
MaglorV: The main thing that bugs me about the gaining popularity is
that at one point being a Tolkien freak (:D) was somewhat unique. Now
there are sooo many 'Tolkien' (read Jackson) freaks that its not as fun
ArPharazonV: my pre-lotr life... very vaguely in the past
VardaValar1: Book freaks are still unique, and can have good fun with PJ nuts
MaglorV: its fun among other purists, but around movie people its... argh
VardaValar1: The cross pollination can be interesting
ArPharazonV: thank god/Eru we all here read the books...
Orodreth V has entered the room.
Orodreth V: Aiya
Orodreth V: That was horribly odd.
Orodreth V: But I think I know what went wrong.
Orodreth V: /me kicks self
ArPharazonV: what? what?
MaglorV: yes, an illitarate Tolkien group would be somewhat ironic
VardaValar1: But they should share our love of fellowship, loyalty, honor, if they like the movies
ArPharazonV: I think the movies and the books can strengthen the
enjoyment of each other... depending on which you see/read first
MaglorV: yeah, they were good movies, even if the were "Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings"
Orodreth V: Should but they don't. I've encountered a few too many legolusters in real life.. :-\
ArPharazonV: is Orodreth jealous of another elf's popularity?
ArathornValar: Yeah, I remember when I first read the Star Wars books
and I... wait a sec... there WERE no Star Wars books before the
movies.. nevermind... <wanders off in search of pizza...>
Orodreth V: Jealous? I feel SORRY for him.
GwaihirValar: Orodreth... there aren't that many Legolusters...
GwaihirValar: most of them are Bloomsters
Orodreth V: You don't go to middle school.
GwaihirValar: masquerading as Legolusters
Orodreth V: Same thing according to them, unfortunatly.
Orodreth V: Which is just as bad.
ArathornValar: yeah, well those are really just teeny-boppers, Orod <chuckle>
Orodreth V: Yes, but it's annoying. :-\
ArathornValar: Guess you could say the same for the "Aragorners"...
ArPharazonV: Thankfully we men don't have that problem... 'ooh look, Liv Tyler as Arwen!'
Orodreth V: There's..what are they called..Aragornsomethings
GwaihirValar: well.... men aren't as likely to swoon... is all...
Orodreth V: Some boromirs as well.
MaglorV: yeah, thats an issue i have as well. This growing following of
Elladan... as far as i know he had 0 lines in the movie. But because
the actor is supposedly good looking, he is a favorite character of
ArPharazonV: ever met a Frodo-er?
Orodreth V: It's worse online, of course.
Orodreth V: Yes.
ArPharazonV: Elladan? was he in the movie?
GwaihirValar: I didn't think so...
MaglorV: maybe it was the other twin
GwaihirValar: I don't remember seeing either of the twins...
ArathornValar: I was just going to say... Elladan?
MaglorV: ive seen entire websites devoted to him
ArPharazonV: me neither
GwaihirValar: Elrohir and Elladan... neither were there I don't think...
MaglorV: he was in the background in the council of elrond
Orodreth V: I met a frodofancier..
ArPharazonV: furry feet, very attractive
ArathornValar: Pff.. now that's just SAD... swooning over a bit character <sigh>
ArathornValar: (Note to self... stop shaving feet...>
ArPharazonV: 'ooh, ooh, and the incredible way Sam slew those orcs... (swoon)'
ArPharazonV: 'what a hero'
ArathornValar: "And that Shelob... what legs!" <snortle>
VardaValar1: Lot of Elladan and Elrohir fanfic
ArPharazonV: 'Didn't Gollum look sexy, only wearing a loincloth?'
VardaValar1: The fanfic characters begin to have their own followings
ArPharazonV: the Gollum Guild
ArathornValar: (Note to self... stop wearing loincloth...)
Orodreth V: Like I said it's worse online. Lookat how many entries
there are for LotR here: http://www.fanfiction.net/subcats.php?c
VardaValar1: And a lot of the girls in the fanfic prefer Legolas over Bloom and Will Turner : )
Orodreth V: Sounds great, right?
Orodreth V: IT's not.
ArathornValar: Will Turner?
ArPharazonV: more then all others combined!
Orodreth V: Look for Romance/Legolas
Orodreth V: And look at how many pages
Orodreth V: Don't read any though.
Orodreth V: We like having you sane.
GwaihirValar: we do?
GwaihirValar: I thought insanity was the goal....
musics4me2: nothing wrong with insanity...
ArathornValar: (Note to self... look up 'sane'..)
ArPharazonV: Will Turner was Bloom in Pirates of the Carribean
Orodreth V: Sane as in now-you-are-sane-here.
musics4me2: Wait, is he sane even now?
Orodreth V: Sane as in relitive to the insanity that you WOULD have. This is good insanity. That's bad insanity.
ArathornValar: ahh.. I see.
ArPharazonV: bad insanity is killing your own family and stuff like that
ArathornValar: (note to self... get pin-wheel hat fixed..)
musics4me2: I soo want one of those :-)
ArPharazonV: I've got 7 at home.. one for each day of the week
Orodreth V: 63/1028 pages is legomance
Orodreth V: and that's not counting the suff that the authors didn't catagorize
ArathornValar: hmm... didn't know you could build a mance out of lego.. go figure...
ArPharazonV: 200 is Aragorn-Arwen 'romance', isn't it?
ArathornValar: Not really much of a romance there really.. a few scenes is all <shrug>
Orodreth V: I'm willing to bet my laptop against a peice of lint that perhaps 10 of those storys have real plot..
ArPharazonV: it's not fan-fiction for nothing, isn't it?
ArPharazonV: OMG what a thunder here
ArPharazonV: thunder, rain, storm...
ArathornValar: Personally, I don't think it did much for thetory <shrug>
ArPharazonV: reminds me of Numenor... wait I was buried at that time, not there to see it...
Orodreth V: And we havn't even begun discussing that horrid, horrid work of twisted, bad insane minds called 'slash'.
ArathornValar: pah.. snowing here again past few days <bleah>
ArathornValar: *the story
VardaValar1: Actually, we have some pretty good writers doing LotR fanfic
ArPharazonV: ah, I thought: thetory, is that Latin?
VardaValar1: some is really awful, some is quite good
VardaValar1: slash, same sex romance
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: Oh, yes.
ArathornValar: Sorry... tongue got stuck in the fan there...
VardaValar1: Too many male characters, so you get slash
Orodreth V: There's some great authors doing LotR FF.
ArPharazonV: actually, slash is what I meant with Aragorn-Arwen 'romance'
GwaihirValar: I don't like the slash stuff.... but the LotR diaries were amusing
ArathornValar: how does that come out as 'slash?
Orodreth V: It's just that it ends up to be more like 5,000 good stories, and you go through 25,000 to find them. :-\
ArPharazonV: if slash is what I think it is
ArPharazonV: 1 in 5? that not a high ratio?
ArPharazonV: I'd say 1 in 50
Orodreth V: Hmm..
Orodreth V: Yea.
Orodreth V: There are quite a few.
Orodreth V: 1,000, then.
Orodreth V: 29,000 not good. That's depressing. :-\
ArPharazonV: they should make a seperation between book-fanfic and movie-fanfic
Orodreth V: And then there's songfics.
Orodreth V: /me screams in horror
ArPharazonV: then we would have a 1000-29000 ratio
VardaValar1: There are tons of types of fanfic
ArathornValar: Whooo-hooo! I won the lottery!! ... no wait.. that's my
laundry list... dang... and I had everything on it too...
Orodreth V: Is Arathorn overlyrandom today or is it just me?
musics4me2: Nah, he's normal (for him)
ArPharazonV: insane compared to the rest of us :-D
ArathornValar: eep.. you're starting to scare me Orod... close your browser! <ties Orod's hands behind his back...>
VardaValar1: Just a rambly topic :-)
ArathornValar: guess the conversation is gettign sidetracked... so is my mind
ArathornValar: Indeed, Varda.
Orodreth V: http://www.fanfiction.net/profile.php?us erid=308213
ArPharazonV: we started a popularity discussion, and are now discussing the fanfic
Orodreth V: That's a good author. :-)
ArPharazonV: not that much sidetrack
ArPharazonV: -the loyalty and love between them, and how they seemed to find friends unlooked for along the way.
ArPharazonV: that a reference to Gollum? :-)
Orodreth V: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?stor yid=1149969 Great story.
ArathornValar: well, ambling then.
ArPharazonV: 30 chapters... wow
Orodreth V: About legolas' early years. Complete conjuration, but it's realistic (to me)
VardaValar1: Now you guys get to write some fic, the way you think it should be
GaldorV has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Send it in for the Story page :-)
VardaValar1: Aiya Galdor!
VardaValar1: Galdor is about to run his hammerdin : )
ArPharazonV: just put the page in my favo's
ArPharazonV: probably going to read it in the future
GaldorV: level 37
ArathornValar has left the room.
ArPharazonV: Aiya Galdor
ArathornValar has entered the room.
VardaValar1: dinner sounds good, back to test
Orodreth V: IT's not really PG though..more like PG-13 with a few very close to R chapters..
GaldorV: test ?
GaldorV: who ?
VardaValar1: Aye, the guy you saw in the channel
Orodreth V: It's rather violent at some places..
VardaValar1: Galdor, what News item?
GaldorV: oh ok i thought he was pso or something...squelched him!
GaldorV: a pic for you
VardaValar1: They're discussing fanfic :-)
GaldorV: scanning it now
VardaValar1: Can you email the URL?
VardaValar1: I also need credits
Orodreth V: History Lessons is cool though. It's set in the thrid age
where Elrond's twins are taught about the First Age, and their father's
involvment in it.
ArPharazonV: or send it here! I want to see it!
Orodreth V: Really cool. :-)
GaldorV: there is no url, i cut it out of the Chicago Suntimes
VardaValar1: I've seen fanfic I really enjoy
ArPharazonV: from the same author?
Orodreth V: Yes
VardaValar1: ok, need the credit along with it, would be great to see
Orodreth V: http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?stor yid=1304562
ArPharazonV: nice, it has a sequel as well
ArPharazonV: history lessons... is that anything more than 'the Silm throught the eyes of Elrond'?
Orodreth V: Yup. That's Arwen and her (and her brothers of course!)
learing of Glorf's arrival in ME and the Seond age revolving, once
again, around Elrond.
Orodreth V: Well, it goes itno much more deatil, but you could call it that I supose.
Orodreth V: But it has plot from the 3rd age.
GaldorV has left the room.
ArPharazonV: a mixture of ages
ArPharazonV: could be cool
Orodreth V: Being that it's lessons. It's a 3rd age novel about a few
months (or is it less?) of the Twin's lives, interspaced with Elrond's
life from the First Age.
Orodreth V: I don't totaly agree with how the author does Elven healing, but..
ArPharazonV: have you completely read it already, or are you reading it now?
Shaggyjoe has entered the room.
Orodreth V: Read.
Orodreth V: Aiya
VardaValar1: Aiya Gelmir!
Shaggyjoe: oy, running a bit late, my appologies
VardaValar1: np - down to chatting about fanfic
Orodreth V: Eargly awaiting the next installment of History Lessons: II
Orodreth V: *Eagerly
Shaggyjoe: Hi everyone. I just test drove a new car, prolly get it in a month or so.
VardaValar1: this is sort of an after chat now :-)
VardaValar1: Sounds exciting : )
ArPharazonV: isn't it officially still meeting?
Orodreth V: It's mostly me running on and on about fanfiction. :-)
Shaggyjoe: such as?
Orodreth V: If you want me to shut my trap, tell me..
ArPharazonV: how are you doing at War3, Oro?
ArPharazonV: level 10 yet?
Orodreth V: Havn't been playing much the past few days..doing various
other things, like sleep so weirdly I usualy don't know what time it
Orodreth V: nope.
Orodreth V: Played like 2 games from our last AT.
ArPharazonV: I don't play much either lately... getting busier and busier in my not-pc life
VardaValar1: You might get a kick out of our MeO rpg story going on the guild forum, Orodreth
Shaggyjoe: same here
Orodreth V: Ooo, forgot that.
VardaValar1: and we can use stories, poems for our site
ArPharazonV: Come on, join.... the unexpected party member!
VardaValar1: Redid the Story site, working on Poetry site
Orodreth V: I don't mind if I do..
ArPharazonV: perhaps like a gate-guard deciding to join at the last minute!
ArPharazonV: or anything else of your choice, of course
HuanofValar has left the room.
GaldorV has entered the room.
GaldorV: Has Erestor been around ?
ArPharazonV: Aiyata, indeed...
ArPharazonV: haven't seen him
GaldorV: Erm...well running to level Hammerdin then, thanks ARPharazon...Namarie all.
GaldorV has left the room.
Shaggyjoe: people still play d2?
ArPharazonV: when I find the Battlechest :-D
GwaihirValar: a lot of people do
ArPharazonV: not that keen on buying of the web
Orodreth V: Hmm.
Orodreth V: FP? Bleh. I'm not too good at that..
musics4me2: meeting over?
ArPharazonV: guess so
GwaihirValar: officially, yes
GwaihirValar: unofficially, no
VardaValar1 has left the room.
ArPharazonV: officially, at what point?
musics4me2: ok, emailing log to Varda :-)
ArPharazonV: Ok, Varda's gone, so indeed it's over... but since when??
ArPharazonV: I can't find such a statement anywhere
ArPharazonV: just a statement that it had been over already
Shaggyjoe: o well
GwaihirValar: about when the conversation digressed off topic so much
GwaihirValar: generally when the conversation becomes completely informal, meeting is over
Orodreth V: No one told ME to stop. :-P
GwaihirValar: lol because it doesn't matter :-)
ArPharazonV: and when was that? I still say fanfic is part of the Tolkien subject
Shaggyjoe: ive got to go
Shaggyjoe: good eve all
Shaggyjoe has left the room.
