VardaValar1: Now that's the way to start the week : )
VardaValar1: and a long time after, we hope!
GwaihirValar: Oh, by the way Varda, on note of that LotRp arody, I'd
include a language warning... there is some swearing
VardaValar1: Are you still in England?
GwaihirValar: until the 27th
VardaValar1: ok, and probably a lot more warnings, thanks
GwaihirValar: Well, so far there doesn't seem to be any bad CONTENT...
althoguh some of the titles of the chapters sound like there will be
Aerandir V: bored of the rings?
GwaihirValar: no, The Lord of the ........... Whatever
may come late or not at all, dependant on the duration of the birthday
party they are attending.
VardaValar1: That's great!
VardaValar1: And the length of the meeting, heh
TurgonjustTurgon: true, true :-)
VardaValar1: Not going to run seven hours again, are we?
VardaValar1: Any other member news? Not that the last one will be
VardaValar1: New on the Links page:
VardaValar1: Fellowship of the Word-Smiths
VardaValar1: Besides a lot of Tolkien language info, it includes movie
VardaValar1: the one Gwaihir was telling about:
VardaValar1: "Lord of the ...whatever"
GwaihirValar: it's funny, but it has a ittle bit of a language
problem.... and the titles make it seem like there will be some bad
VardaValar1: for those people who don't want to buy a real copy of LotR
they get what they deserve, it says
GwaihirValar: but I haven't seen any ACTUAL bad content
GwaihirValar: just really bad bad bad writing lol
VardaValar1: I winced when they made Legolas a girl
HearNoEvil80 has entered the room.
HearNoEvil80: Aiya and well met (finally)

HearNoEvil80: Yes indeedy I'm trying to catch up to him
VardaValar1: Good luck!
VardaValar1: Arathorn's BZFlag info is on the News page
Dark Age of Camelot
VardaValar1: I checked with Irmo
VardaValar1: He says it's true that the Valar Guild branch had to merge
VardaValar1: Not enough people for a viable guild branch
VardaValar1: Bunch of the guys didn't want to play on the role-playing
server, for one thing
VardaValar1: and time-zones were a killer
VardaValar1: So if you want to play DAoC with Valar guys, check for
Wolves of Valinor
VardaValar1: Stormwolves was a group friendly to us, proposed the merger
VardaValar1: Any other Gaming news?
VardaValar1: Turgon, go ahead
TurgonjustTurgon: another adnd meeting friday night
GwaihirValar: after Turg, I have a little to elaborate on the wc3 news I

TurgonjustTurgon: oh that's pippin
TurgonjustTurgon: who's the fool now lol
TurgonjustTurgon: anyways, welcome merry :-)
VardaValar1: He's forgiving, np : )
TurgonjustTurgon: we had 2 additional players, seeming to like the
different style of play
TurgonjustTurgon: as the game progresses, it will probably deviate more
and more from 2nd ed, but so far doesn't seem to be a problem
GwaihirValar: it is vaguely possible that I'll join when I get back to
TurgonjustTurgon: more news to come :-)
VardaValar1: Gwaihir, go ahead
TurgonjustTurgon: we still have room, so you're welcome :-)
VardaValar1: Thanks, Turgon
GwaihirValar: the WC3 beta for patch 1.17 includes 2

VardaValar1: Arwen and Fangorn just walked in
VardaValar1: They say hi
GwaihirValar: as well as doing a great deal of balancing(best bet is to

GwaihirValar: hi to them
FarmerMaggotV: Aiya all at Varda's!
VardaValar1: World of WarCraft will have a Valar

VardaValar1: Eonwe will be heading it
VardaValar1: Is anyone here in the Beta for that?
VardaValar1: Guess not : )
VardaValar1: We will also have a branch in Middle-earth
VardaValar1: I'm currently supposed to head that
VardaValar1: running a MeO rpg in our forum, and we have a presence on
the MeO forum
VardaValar1: Any other gaming news?
VardaValar1: Arwen tried to join in but will have to restart the comp
VardaValar1: Any other comments, suggestions?
VardaValar1: Gwaihir, I wrote in the warning on the humor page
VardaValar1: All the humor pages could be said to need warnings, ah well
VardaValar1: The nature of the beast
VardaValar1: I have a topic, but we could start with one of yours, if
anyone has one
ArathornValar: er.. on thing re my BZflag server...
ArathornValar: had some probs with it last week but firgured it out...
ArathornValar: I don't have it runnign all teh time, btu if anyone
wants to play it AIM me and I can run it if I'm around.
ArathornValar: As FM and Turg have done a couple time <heh>
FarmerMaggotV: heh =D
VardaValar1: AIM, our secondary Battle.net channel : )
ArathornValar: that;s it. Just wanted to let ppl know it's an ad hoc
VardaValar1: Good for all games
VardaValar1: Are we still using Fladrif's server for BZFlag as well?
FarmerMaggotV: I think it's still up, haven't seen him lately though
VardaValar1: He said he'd leave it up for us while he's gone
FarmerMaggotV: ah, gone again :P
Aerandir V: have you heard of the new game coming out called Battle
HearNoEvil80: Yes I saw it in computer magazine
VardaValar1: It was in PC Gamer
HearNoEvil80: not scheduled for release til Nov I think...could be wrong
VardaValar1: Anyone here hoping to play it?
Aerandir V: heres a page
with some info
HearNoEvil80: I am
VardaValar1: Thanks Aerandir
Aerandir V: looks really good
Aerandir V: there are videos of the game at that page
VardaValar1: Everyone remember to keep Eonwe up to date on the Games
page so we'll know who's playing what, and what name to look for
GwaihirValar: afk for a short while... but Gilraen will still be here,
at the comp on my screen name... while I'm gone
VardaValar1: Try to use some version of your guild name if you can
VardaValar1: Heya Gilraen! Stepping in for the Eagle?
VardaValar1: We still seem to be in gaming
VardaValar1: Ecthelion, go ahead
VardaValar1: Hearnoevil, Grimbold
VardaValar1: Have to look at the right star
HearNoEvil80: hehe sorry I will change my name for guild meetings next
Arwen V1 has entered the room.
GwaihirValar: Aiya Varda... yep.... I've just been sitting by the comp
reading til now... I'm actually trusted to touch the comp now it seems
VardaValar1: Hantal le
VardaValar1: Wow, Gilraen : )
HearNoEvil80: I was wondering if anyone here has played "War of
the Rings" and if it was worth it to buy it and play it?
VardaValar1: Anyone have a PC Gamer review lying around?
Aerandir V: this site has a whole lot of info on that game
HearNoEvil80: Ok thank you
ArathornValar: AFK for supper... checking back l8r all.
VardaValar1: Nice fast internet search, thanks
HearNoEvil80: didn't mean to hold up the meeting w/ my
questions.....you can tell I've been gone too long
VardaValar1: While the ranger's out, we can start a Tolkien topic ; )
VardaValar1: That is part of the meeting
Aerandir V: gamespot.com
has pretty much all info on every game
VardaValar1: Also stalling for Meriadoc : )
Arwen V1 has left the room.
VardaValar1: oops, ok, we'll go without him
VardaValar1: and there crashed Arwen, heh
TurgonjustTurgon: I have played WotR
VardaValar1: Go ahead, Turgon
HearNoEvil80: can you talk in Pm so we don't disturb the meeting
Arwen V1 has entered the room.
TurgonjustTurgon: it's pretty nice
TurgonjustTurgon: 2 factions
TurgonjustTurgon: although I think the campaigns are a bit out of
context, they are overall well done
TurgonjustTurgon: graphics are just great
TurgonjustTurgon: units are a little out of balance last time I played
TurgonjustTurgon: but multiplayer is great
VardaValar1: (Meriadoc wound up in D2X channel)
TurgonjustTurgon: it's not a must-buy, but it's not a waste either
HearNoEvil80: Okies thanks, I appreciate it
VardaValar1: Thanks, we all wanted to hear a review
VardaValar1: When playing your guild name, so we can recognize you on
VardaValar1: remember to uphold what you joined the guild for
VardaValar1: Each of you is our best advertisement for the guild and
the style of play : )
VardaValar1: Any further comments, suggestions, news?
VardaValar1: Tolken: :-)
VardaValar1: JRRT wrote a famous essay called "On Fairy-Stories"
VardaValar1: done while he was working on LotR
VardaValar1: a long time, admittedly
VardaValar1: It gives insight into his thoughts
VardaValar1: I assume some of you have it
VardaValar1: It can be found in The Tolkien Reader
VardaValar1: Anyone here have a copy?
FarmerMaggotV: Not I
HearNoEvil80: No sorry I do not
VardaValar1: okie dokie
VardaValar1: You can still comment on his ideas
VardaValar1: such as where he wound up using them, what you think
VardaValar1: JRRT said a Fairy-story does not have to have "fairies" in
it, but needs to have the place, Faerie
VardaValar1: Fairy is a fairly recent term for Elves
VardaValar1: The dimunitive person with wings is also a recent invention
VardaValar1: recent being relative
VardaValar1: Fairies/Elves are not primarily concerned with us, nor we
VardaValar1: Thus, we tend not to cross paths except for strange
VardaValar1: JRRT was interested in what value a story had for the
reader, to make sure it had some
VardaValar1: He was interested more in the total effect than in the
individual elements, when looking at a story
VardaValar1: He found the analysts got too excited about ingredients
and forgot the soup itself
VardaValar1: Faerie should make immediately effective by will the
visions of fantasy
VardaValar1: Feel free to break in if you have a comment
VardaValar1: He felt it was wrong to think children were the main ones
for whom fantasy should be aimed
VardaValar1: He felt it should be for adults, as math, sociology, or
anything else, with a branch of it for children
VardaValar1: He found that he appreciated it more after he had become
an adult, and the most when he became a soldier
VardaValar1: He felt a fairy-story should be like entering a Secondary
VardaValar1: not like a mere suspension of disbelief
Aerandir V: the fact that fantasy is good for all has been noticed by a
good sci-fi author as well
VardaValar1: To do this, he said one must have consistent rules for
Faerie to follow
VardaValar1: or it would jar the reader out of the world
VardaValar1: He would then be looking at it from outside, trying to
Arwen V1: I agree about the entering a second world part, all of the
best fantasy books/series I've read have a whole world built within
VardaValar1: He said a Fairy-story should have certain elements:
VardaValar1: Fantasy, Recovery, Escape, and Consolation
VardaValar1: Do you remember the SF author, Aerandir?
Aerandir V: Orson Scott Card in a short essay in my edition of War of
VardaValar1: Fantasy: imagination, sub-creation
VardaValar1: ahh, thanks
VardaValar1: An Image should be used to give an Expression
VardaValar1: If the Image comes from something not in the Primary
world, it is better
VardaValar1: shows more Imagination
VardaValar1: He used the phrase "arresting strangeness"
VardaValar1: People who didn't want their Primary World disturbed felt
upset by being arrested and having to see this change
VardaValar1: They tend not to like Fantasy
Aerandir V: had a literature teacher like that
VardaValar1: Me too : )
Arwen V1: ouch
VardaValar1: My sympathy
Aerandir V: the semester before got to read the hobbit
VardaValar1: Had to get another teacher to let you read it?
Aerandir V: but she said that it bored her
Aerandir V: had to stay in that class
VardaValar1: lol - Bored of the Rings
VardaValar1: A side bit JRRT said
VardaValar1: Magic is more for human trickery
Aerandir V: i was looking forward to using my knowlege of LOTR to help
me in school
VardaValar1: It should have helped
VardaValar1: Magic, he also said, was used to gain power
VardaValar1: He used another term: Enchantment
VardaValar1: he made it distinct from Magic
VardaValar1: Enchantment is Sub-creation, Art, Fantasy
Aerandir V: have to go. I'll be scrolling later
VardaValar1: Sounds like Sauron with Magic, and Galadriel with
VardaValar1: Thanks for contributing!
VardaValar1: Remember the part about not wanting change?
VardaValar1: Maybe we need to look at things a new way
VardaValar1: We begin to think of them as so familiar that we no longer
actually see and experience them
VardaValar1: We see only what we remember
VardaValar1: Fantasy can jar one to see it in a new way
VardaValar1: Oddly, he found that Humility has a similar effect
VardaValar1: Thus we see his likable characters showing some humility
VardaValar1: Sam quickly comes to mind
VardaValar1: All things seemed new to this humble hobbit
Arwen V1: true =)
VardaValar1: His sense of wonder was powerful, helped us see
Arwen V1: perhapse also by them seeming new to Sam, they were new to us?
VardaValar1: I agree
VardaValar1: So we Recover a clear view of the simple things we lost: a
stone, bread, wine, the color green
VardaValar1: He said the critics were confused between Escape and
VardaValar1: Escapism is not a form of running away from the Primary
world. Did we not just Recover our view of it?
VardaValar1: But a prisoner wanting to Escape from the ugliness around
us, the smoky factories say...
VardaValar1: might do that scary next thing:
VardaValar1: He might want to clean up the air, upset the status quo
VardaValar1: Pull down street lamps obscuring the view of stars
VardaValar1: Worse, get others to want to do it too
VardaValar1: Many things are around in the Primary world that we
VardaValar1: He commented that one of the biggest was Death
VardaValar1: That is one of his and many other Fantasy authors' major
VardaValar1: Consolation: the final main ingredient
VardaValar1: The Consolation of the Happy Ending
VardaValar1: What a happy ending is, can be quite diverse
VardaValar1: He said Tragedy was best suited for stage drama
VardaValar1: He also said they had no real word for the reverse
VardaValar1: He invented "eucatastrophe" to cover it
suilenroc01 has left the room.
VardaValar1: He felt the fairy-story was the place this could be best
VardaValar1: "Joy beyond the walls of the world as poignant as grief"
VardaValar1: And then
VardaValar1: the story should have the feeling of having existed before
the read part, and that it continued afterwards
VardaValar1: That is all I had for you. Any comments?
Arwen V1: the part that it had existed before and will after the story
is also part of there being a secondary world
VardaValar1: This is the same guy who brought us the story of Turin
VardaValar1: If we look, even Turin eventually finds a happy ending
FINARFIN010 has entered the room.
VardaValar1: Since it seems just Arwen and I are here, and we are in
the same room anyway
VardaValar1: oh hi Finarfin!
FINARFIN010: aiya all!!
VardaValar1: I was about to declare an after-meeting : )
Arwen V1: What is Frodo's happy ending?
FarmerMaggotV: Sailing off to the west?
FINARFIN010: there is something i would like to share with all.
Arwen V1: I felt when I read that, that sailing off to the west was a
kind of consolation. Sort of, just to save him from being horribly
unhappy, but not nessiciarily something to be happy about.
VardaValar1: Type away, Fin
FINARFIN010: good point Arwen
VardaValar1: Frodo lived, had time in Bag End, stayed with Sam and
enjoyed his family, got to have joy in Valinor before going to Eru
Arwen V1: that makes sense =)
FINARFIN010: There is a Lord of the
Rings Motion Picture Trilogy Exhibition
here in boston ma. at the Museum of Sicence which is waaaaayyyy coooool/
Arwen V1: neat =D
FINARFIN010: the exshibition contains the finest items from the films.
the major charters of the Fellowship are represented by their
costume3s. jewelry and battle gear-all havnd made by tthe
craftspeopople of the peter jackson
FINARFIN010: An entire area of the exhibition showcases armor a d
weapons wielded by battle-scene combantants. Each of these objects,
from the Armor worn by Orcs to the Sword brandished by Arwen and
Aragorn is a wonder of inspiration.
FINARFIN010: i actually got to hold the sword of Aragorn
FINARFIN010: that was soooooo cool
FINARFIN010: they have a 3-d scanner to record contours of your face
and display the resulting wireframe animation on sreeen.
FINARFIN010: so that outside the scanning booth , one can manipulate
the image using special effects technology to discover how one would
look say as a stone colossus.
FarmerMaggotV: how fine a grid? (was is smooth looking?)
FINARFIN010: then in another area they had a motion capture
FINARFIN010: when you steped in front of the camera a watch a computer
translate your movements into digital action as you wield a plastic
swo0rd and shield, a film charter moved with every lunge and parry on a
video screen for all to see... the
FINARFIN010: kids realy liked that one
FINARFIN010: they had a very cool Scaling Interactive area as well.
FarmerMaggotV: nice hehe
FINARFIN010: you hop on to a horse cart. depending on where you sit.
you will appear to be the size of frodo or gandalf on a nearby video
FINARFIN010: so it was very amusing to see my 76" person reduced to
something resembling a very tall hobbit. hehe
FINARFIN010: they have a scalling wall to find out wheree you would
stand in middle earth...
FINARFIN010: life size rendering of frodo gandalf, men, elves, orcs,
and cae trolls. to scale
VardaValar1: You fit where?
FINARFIN010: they had a bobbit hill
FINARFIN010: they had a creation of evil area
VardaValar1: Were you Man or Elf size, Finarfin?
FINARFIN010: over 6'
FINARFIN010: they had a ring area where you could see the history of
the ring and how it was made
FINARFIN010: it was all very cool.
FINARFIN010: but that is about all they had,.... except...
VardaValar1: Was this how they made the Ring for the movie or the book
FarmerMaggotV: hm... they include deagol?
FINARFIN010: for the gift shop which was outragious
FINARFIN010: very high prices.
VardaValar1: They know we are willing to pay it out if we have it ; )
VardaValar1: Scroll back slightly for 2 questions
FINARFIN010: i am hoping i can shag something after the exhibit is over.
FINARFIN010: they usually have some small trinkets hanging around..
Eru68 has entered the room.
FINARFIN010: i could go through with my umbrella ... heheh
Eru68: Hail and well met.
VardaValar1: Mae govannen Eru!
VardaValar1: lol Finarfin
FINARFIN010: *bows low to Eru.
VardaValar1: You missed a lot of good stuff, Eru. But that gives us a
chance to chat
VardaValar1: Very good to see you back!
Eru68: Glad to be back. It's been too long. :-)
VardaValar1: You were here last week, thanks for coming
GwaihirValar: good evening Eru
VardaValar1: We've been running an hour and a half
Eru68: I've just got things running again here, PC has been on the
VardaValar1: ouch. we all know that feeling
GwaihirValar: Gilraen: Aye!!!!!!!
VardaValar1: Grimbold just got internet back, then a road crew ran
through his phone line
Eru68: Turns out the fan on my graphics card has stopped working, so
I've got the case open and a 10 inch desk fan blowing onto the card. :-(
HearNoEvil80: Aye and a fine time for them to run thru too
VardaValar1: Good thinking
HearNoEvil80: hehe...whatever it takes eh?
VardaValar1: We don't bother putting the cases back on our comps.
VardaValar1: Welcome back from the emergency, Grimbold : )
HearNoEvil80: thank you
HearNoEvil80: been catching up
VardaValar1: Lots of reading : )
VardaValar1: We had a bit about JRRT's essay, "On Fairy Tales"
VardaValar1: Finarfin told about the movie exhibit near him, got to
hold Anduril from the movie
FINARFIN010: oh... i am sorry i missed the "on fairy tales"
VardaValar1: We'll have a transcript, but meanwhile
VardaValar1: have you read it, Fin?
VardaValar1: I'll bet Eru has it memorized : )
FINARFIN010: and "leaf
VardaValar1: Leaf by Niggle
VardaValar1: Lovely short story
FINARFIN010: oh...yes indeed.
VardaValar1: Mostly we just recapped the article
VardaValar1: Now we could discuss, since you two already know the
VardaValar1: Put you on the spot ;-)
Eru68: On Fairy Tales - no, for a change I've never read it - I'm
strictly Sil and LoTR only.
VardaValar1: What about HoMe?
FINARFIN010: is it in the tolkien reader?
VardaValar1: Aye, Fin
VardaValar1: The Tolkien Reader under Tree and Leaf
FINARFIN010: i have a 1966 edition of it.
VardaValar1: JRRT wrote the essay while doing LotR. Not hard
considering how long that took
VardaValar1: The first edition!

VardaValar1: Correction: Pauline Baynes drew it
VardaValar1: Now that's a bargain!
VardaValar1: Eru, this is very late for you. Would you be able to come
to chat with us any earlier, after your fan is fixed?
VardaValar1: Eonwe had a lightning strike, fried his modems
Eru68: Yes, I've got a new one ordered so I'll be ok.
VardaValar1: The meeting time ok for you?
VardaValar1: Started almost two hours ago
Eru68: Me? Yes.
VardaValar1: So many work or have to go to sleep at this time, good to
hear it works for someone
FarmerMaggotV: works for me, but often dinner interferes :P
VardaValar1: Eating doesn't take long and you might get to scroll
GwaihirValar: usually works for me... when my work isn't being stupid
and giving me all the Sunday shifts lol
VardaValar1: Gilraen or Gwaihir?
Eru68: Unfortunately for my guild attendance, my pen and paper RPG
GM'ing has been spanning Sunday evenings from 6-12.
VardaValar1: Those are fun : )
VardaValar1: Sauron is very into those
GwaihirValar: Gilraen: but it works for him at the moment ;-) that was

VardaValar1: Got married a few weeks ago
GwaihirValar: (in case you were wondering... we're both here at the

Eru68: Well, well.... :-)
FINARFIN010: congrats to Osse ... :-)
VardaValar1: Kept him away from his WarCraft3/TheFrozenThrone shaman
GwaihirValar: as Emma here has done for me, alas
GwaihirValar: Gilraen: *grumbles* not my fault computer's not up to
VardaValar1: Yet you both still show up for meetings! Thanks!
GwaihirValar: Gwaihir: well, we had to get the news out ;-)
Eru68: Oh and Helen says 'Hello', Varda.
VardaValar1: Aiya Helen!
VardaValar1: I still remember when she came into Diablo 1
VardaValar1: Would love to see her pop by again sometime : )
Eru68: Lol...she's very shy for some reason. She plays even less than I
do, if that's possible.
VardaValar1: Hey, it's us Helen! We need more ladies here
VardaValar1: Merry says hi, Helen
VardaValar1: He's the same Merry from the beginning
Arwen V1: Hi Helen =)
FINARFIN010: who could want of anyone more lovely than Varda.
VardaValar1: Helen did pretty well with those ships
FINARFIN010: but she did not kindle that stars...
Aerandir V has left the room.
Eru68: I once wrote of Varda: "Varda, Queen of the Valar, she glows as
glittering snow atop star-struck mountains and is beyond compare."
FINARFIN010: well... form the mouth of Eru it must be so!!!
VardaValar1: That's pretty close to what Galadriel said in Quenya, I
FINARFIN010: well how can i say anything against my own kin. :-)
VardaValar1: Lucky I remember Varda in Tolkien and I are not quite the
same ; )
FINARFIN010: well kind folk it is time for me to take my leave of this
VardaValar1: Some of us are going to try to get together for Texas
Eru68: Probably the accent. :-)
VardaValar1: Finarfin for one
FINARFIN010: e-mail me with some dates soon
FINARFIN010: Namaire all

FINARFIN010 has left the room.
TurgonjustTurgon has left the room.
HearNoEvil80: Renfair in Illinois was very good
HearNoEvil80: 3rd time going
VardaValar1: Eonwe, Finarfin, Elwing, Meriadoc, Fangorn, Eowyn, maybe
Arwen, Sauron, maybe Bilbo and his friends, me
VardaValar1: Sounds fun, Grimbold
HearNoEvil80: wasn't bad at all...wish I had the money in the world to
get all the stuff I wanted
VardaValar1: Now if we could fly Eru in...
VardaValar1: No way! hehe
VardaValar1: At least we have fun looking!
VardaValar1: Most of us go in costume so we won't look strange
Eru68: Actually we have discussed a holiday somewhere on the West coast
of the US. Strangely Las Vegas was favourite, even though neither of us
VardaValar1: What drew you?
Eru68: The sights I guess, the hotels etc.
VardaValar1: We're central in Texas
VardaValar1: We have hotels too :-)
VardaValar1: Right by two International Airports in Houston
Eru68: Well I remember you asking me over to shoot things before in the
VardaValar1: Bush International tends to run jumbo jets overhead
VardaValar1: Like to borrow Sauron's longbow?
VardaValar1: We can pop a few targets
VardaValar1: Rentals too
Eru68: I haven't done archery since college. I'd probably fire the bow
at the target, or take the skin off my arm.
VardaValar1: I didn't ask you over to shoot with a rifle That would be
VardaValar1: We have a lot of Texans in the guild for some reason
VardaValar1: We'll let you use one of the vambraces and a long-sleeved
shirt ; )
Eru68: You asked me over to shoot a rifle, I'm sure. Jackrabbits
VardaValar1: or two vambraces
VardaValar1: Not seriously, if so
Eru68: Thank goodness.
VardaValar1: Kidding around. Jackrabbit shooting I haven't had to do
VardaValar1: Pests, eating the garden acres.
VardaValar1: Coyotes eating the watermelons and canteloupes
Eru68: We just have foxes.
VardaValar1: We stopped a lot of it with electric fence
Eru68: But no guns, they are mostly illegal here.
HearNoEvil80: you're kidding me Coyotes are the ones eatcing your
melons and lopes?
VardaValar1: Foxes are so delicate looking. Saw a red fox
VardaValar1: no kidding
VardaValar1: We were living in the desert, they liked the sweet liquid
HearNoEvil80: geez must be desperate or thirsty one of the two.....
HearNoEvil80: Ahh I see
VardaValar1: They don't just eat meat, like the tv says
HearNoEvil80: Oh I know that
Eru68: A fox took one of our hens a few weeks back, so we had to
install an ultrasonic sensor to drive them away.
VardaValar1: They can also go to the water wells
HearNoEvil80: just didn't figure they'd go for melon or lope
VardaValar1: Does that bother the chickens?
VardaValar1: Coyotes love melons!
Eru68: No, only species in the dog family.
VardaValar1: Good to hear
VardaValar1: Can't keep an electric fencer going all the time
VardaValar1: Coyotes know if its on. They listen for the clicking
VardaValar1: Smart animals
VardaValar1: Folks, I need to leave
VardaValar1: How we got onto varmints I'm not sure
HearNoEvil80: Ok Namarie, and pleasure chatting w/ ya
VardaValar1: I actually am fond of jackrabbits and coyotes
Eru68: Do they bother people at all? Foxes are far too timid. That's
why 20 or so red coated bafoons need to chase them ragged and then kill
VardaValar1: Had a pet jackrabbit, kept pet rabbits
FarmerMaggotV: Namarie Varda
Arwen V1: Namarie, Varda
Eru68: Ah, farewell Varda until next time.
VardaValar1: People are afraid of coyotes, never bothered me
VardaValar1: Killed my cats
HearNoEvil80: depends on if they're hungry enough and/or if they are
VardaValar1: Hope to see you next time! We need to do some Maia tests
with Eonwe as our third
VardaValar1: I have to go
HearNoEvil80: or if there is a lot of construction going on that drives
them out of their habitats
