Alcarin was the seventeenth King of Numenor, and
the son of
Tar-Vanimelde, the third Ruling Queen of Numenor. He should have
then became king, but his father, Tar-Anducal (Herucalmo) withheld the
scepter from him until his own death, when Tar-Alcarin took up the
rightful kingship for a further eighty years. He was succeeded by
his son, Tar-Calmacil.
