Military Contributions of
Galadriel and Celeborn
Galadriel and Celeborn did more than hide inside
Lorien
once they settled there, protecting it with their power, although that
too
was a feat. Their land was attacked from Dol Guldur three times and
repelled,
for only Sauron himself could have defeated Lorien.
They also gave
advice
and magical gifts where they were most needed.
After the
destruction
of Sauron, Celeborn took his force across the Anduin in many boats and
took
Dol Guldur. Then Galadriel threw down the walls and laid bare its pits.
The
forest was cleansed. They met with Thranduil's forces attacking from
the north side.
