Amarie of the Vanyar was the beloved of King
Finrod Felagund, but they did not marry. The name Amarie is Quenya
elvish.
Felagund went into exile from Valinor with Feanor's
group,
while Amarie remained behind in Valinor.
Finrod Felagund was the eldest son of Earwen and of
Finarfin
the golden-haired, who was the third son of the Noldor King Finwe, who
was
the younger of Feanor's half-brothers. The half was due to the mother
being
Indis, a Vanyar elf, who was golden-haired. and close kin of Ingwe the
High
King of the Elves. Thus it was that Amarie, a Vanyar, could see Finrod
as
being like one of her people.
