Biography:

The Bohemian Weasel is the talented Soni Alcorn-Hender. Originally from England, she now lives in Portugal. She joined the Valar Guild August 11, 2007.
    Artwork is done by hand.
Some pictures here are in more than one category to make finding of them easy. They are used from here to illustrate our Tolkien Encyclopedia, so these only include those subjects related to Middle-earth.
As a fellow Tolkien fan, Ms. Alcorn-Hender  has allowed the Valar Guild the unusual privilege of the  use of her artwork to illustrate our Tolkien Encyclopedia since December 2007, and has allowed us to place the artwork on our site. We may also use them on non-romance, very Tolkien stories. This helps cut down the use of her bandwidth. However, all is still copyrighted and any use for another site must be requested from her.
She may be contacted through her personal site:  The Bohemian Weasel Galleries.  If you are lucky, you may find some unsold work and buy it. Certain sales benefit charities.
In an email in January 2009 concerning some of her most recent work she says: "the works I did for Topps trading cards...have the movie logo stamped on them. But I was very glad to be asked to partake, especially as my work was vetted first of all by a guy from New Line cinema. So huzzah, I'm an official LotR artist. :)"

[Need to add Jan. 15, 2009 email art. Completed Jan. 14, 2009 both emails.]

Certain other areas permission letter excerpt Jan. 14, 2009:

You had asked if I'd mind my artwork possibly being used to illustrate poems or stories there.
Well to answer that, no, I really don't mind at all as long as the stories/poems are of the kind that are respectful to Tolkien's work and don't throw the characters into romances, particularly with each other, lol. Though I did just have a quick look at the site and what I saw seemed lovely, and very 'Tolkien'. I was particularly taken by a 100 word 'drabble' on Legolas coming home, aww. But yes, please feel free! And of course the same goes with the Encyclopedia. :)

It's just a shame that some of my recent works, which I also liked a lot, were done for under a license which means I don't know if you could use it on your site. (They're the works I did for Topps trading cards, and have the movie logo stamped on them.) But I was very glad to be asked to partake, especially as my work was vetted first of all by a guy from New Line cinema. So huzzah, I'm an official LotR artist. :)
